During our stay in Playas de Tijuana, my wife took me to Mariscos Arcos Playas, and wow, this place was delicious! I went in very hungry and left completely full and satisfied. We ordered the Tostada Arcos, tacos gobernador, and filete de pescado. Everything tasted fresh, flavorful, and was very satisfying. Pair all that seafood with a cold beer and horchata, and it was perfect. They also had a live band playing, which made the atmosphere even more lively and enjoyable. I have mixed feelings about this place. The shrimp tacos were excellent and easily the highlight of the meal. They were fresh, flavorful, and some of the best I've had. The view was pretty epic , the prices were also (in their favor ) a bit overpriced. Unfortunately, the service was awful. The staff seemed inattentive, and the overall experience was disappointing. To make matters worse, I felt scammed. The taxi driver who brought us there appeared to have some sort of arrangement with the restaurant, which made the whole experience feel more like a tourist trap than an authentic recommendation. This place is so good! We decided to eat here because it was pretty busy and that's always a good sign. They sat us in the back facing the ocean and we enjoyed the view. They had live music that day so it was pretty loud and a little hectic trying to get our order in but we figured it out. This was a great experience for my mom and aunt. The experience made it 10/10 the servers were attentive and were offering us recommendations of what we should order. They have definitely upgraded & expanded this restaurant from the last time I've been here years ago. It's way bigger & they have a downstairs now. Clean, new, spacious. You can find parking lots at Playas directly across from these establishments for cheap. We went in with a stroller because our son was sleeping. They sat us downstairs. They do not have escalator, elevator, etc. to get down. So probably not handicap friendly. One of the employees was kind enough to assist my husband with bringing my son down in Hhis stroller. Lots of windows & breeze, open air. My ceviche was good. Hard to mess that up. My husband ordered mango habanero aguachile which was ok. A but different from how we usually have it. Nice place by the beach, good food/drinks and good service. We were here for new years dinner and had a great time. I'd say the quality of the food wasn't the best we had in Tijuana, but it was a nice and clean restaurant with a live music band. The portions were very generous and lots of sides included (felt more tailored toward tourists maybe). You can totally share dishes, we realized we ordered too much. It was the fist time I was able to check out playas Tijuana & it won't be the last. Currently the beaches are closed so that was why we went to this place. It has direct views of the next & ocean. When I arrived I was asked "Music or no music?" I wasn't sure why that mattered if the musicians expected tips or what. It is louder than some people like when you choose music. I sat and waited for a seat, then when I told them I didn't care which one, they took me down the strip to Onza, claiming it was the same menu and kitchen. The service was slow, they forgot to bring my margarita after telling me it was on the way. The Pescado del Dia was good, and the margarita made with house tequila was fine. One of the top spots to visit when you come to Tj's beaches. They have three different levels you can sit at depending on what type of experience you want. You can sit Where there is live music, where there is DJ music playing and a spot where there's no music at all and you can just sit and relax and enjoy your food. Make sure to ask where you want to be seated so if you wanna see the beach you need to ask the host to sit you viewing the beach. I went on a Sunday and the banda music was too loud. We were very uncomfortable the whole time. We went to this place because apparently is famous in Playas. The food does not taste any different from a fast food restaurant in the USA. I asked if we could be sitted in a table for 4 because we were 3. I was told it was onLy for 4 and that we needed to sit against the bar seeing the Ocean. The same person sitted a couple in a table for 4. I asked him again to move us to a table and he promised he would find a better place but he never intended to do so. My partner had to go and look for the captain so he could transfer us to a different table and he did. Next to the restroom. This place is pricy. We paid US prices. Usually dining out in Tijuana costs around 60% of what we pay in the USA. Not sure why this place is famous. Their seafood seems frozen and not fresh. read more
