Jerk Chicken Plate with collard greens and cabbage
    Jordyn M.

Came on a Saturday evening around 6:30 with a group of 6. This is an order first then sit down and food will be brought to you. They had r&b and hip hop music playing and also sell THC products. They also have cards and a few games available to play at your table. The food is brought in to go containers, which is helpful for if you don't finish. The portion sizes are pretty nice. Flavor wise the food was good, I can always advocate for even deeper, ricer flavors, but I enjoyed it my plate a can imagine coming back or ordering to go on days when I work downtown. I do wish they offered Jamaican or Caribbean owned hot sauces / pepper sauces for the side. I can imagine on a theme night like r&b night or brunch that it can get popping in there. It is a bit louder with music so not an intimate date night type of place.

I ordered through DoorDash so I can't speak in the service but the food was AMAZING!!! The greens had a slight sweet to them that I don't normally like but they were cooked perfectly so I didn't mind, they weren't over cooked like most places. The mac was nice and cheesy more creamy than I like (I'm a weirdo who prefers a drier mac lol baked a lil harder) but these still slapped. And the goat was the star of the plate! With that jollaf rice! I could cry!! lol it was so tender and perfectly cooked. I'm so glad I found a PERCET Caribbean spot while I'm here, definitely gonna try out the other dishes soon!

Upon entering it has that Jamaican decor which was nice to see. There is counter ordering and the order taker was so knowledgeable with the menu and had plenty of personality. There were three of us and we ordered the Jerk Oxtails and Jerk Chicken that came with Jollof Rice, Sweet Potatoes and Greens, another order with Chicken and Jollof Rice, Greens and Sweet Potato also, an order of Rasta Pasta with Jerk Oxtails. Our food was served heat hot and packed with lots of Jamaican Flavor and oh so sendeand prepared with lots of love. The food was so darn good oh my goodness there needs to be more places like this one in Sacramento, CA. THERE WOULD BE LINES OUT THE DOOR. If you haven't been here you should. Hats off to the Chef.

Found this place close by, was craving curry chicken which was really great. Very flavorful and tender, side were really tasty as well. The jerk chicken was a bit basic but not so bad. Service was great, and this place has to have the best music in the area lol. Vibes were cool, they also have an area to just chill, relax with a few drinks and converse.

This place was so delicious and such a vibe. We stopped in for lunch and they happen to have some different specials which we enjoyed, including money off tacos as well as their Jamaican patties. I tried the patties as well as tacos, along with one of their custom mix bowls, which comes with your choices, meat or vegetable and rice or another type of base. Everything I ate was really good and flavorful. I also tried their signature trap juice along with a different cocktail while there and it was very yummy. I highly recommend checking this place out if you're in Austin. Also, we learned that at nights on the weekends they have another part that turns into more of a club scene which unfortunately, I was not able to make it to, but definitely would like to go back in the future for

Stopped by here for lunch today and what a great choice! It's a cute restaurant with a cool vibe and the service was top tier! Delano was amazing! He offered us suggestions on both drinks and food and his pairings were perfect. The food was delicious. The drinks were strong and we can't wait to come back. The pick a bowl is a perfect lunch choice and the snapper was made to order. Don't forget to try the rum cake!

    Beef Phatty with Fries
    Aquilla M.

I was excited to try this place out, but unfortunately my first impression was underwhelming. I tried the beef phatty and it didn't give was I was hoping for. The phatty was small and fried hard, the flavor was lacking the Jamaican flavors I've grown to love. I paid about $16 for fries and a phatty. The vibe was nice, not super packed for a Saturday night. I'll give this place another visit, and follow up with an updated review when I do.

The young man at counter is always very welcoming and helpful. I am a lover of the oxtails, but could honestly be satisfied with just eating the sides. Great spot, chill vibes, delicious food.

Looking at some of these reviews, I must've gone on the wrong day. Stopped by this spot while visiting Austin a few summers ago. The brown stew was not good. I didn't want to finish it. The empanada was good, the plantains, and the Ting were good.

    Super cute neon signs outside

We stopped here for a late dinner after an ACL Live at the Moody show. It was great. The atmosphere was colorful & fun with neon signs & rainbow tiles & funky booths & chandeliers. The menu was varied, so it was hard to choose but I had the vegetarian chickpea curry & my date had chicken curry. We had side salad & sweet potato sides & chocolate cake dessert. It was way too much food as the portions were big, but everything came in take out boxes, so it was easy to pack up. It wasn't crowded at all, but it was between dinner & the after bar rush at 9pm. The servers were super cute & nice. The music was celebratory & fun to get the weekend started. Lastly, the prices were reasonable. Why go to someplace predictable when you can have fun?

I was visiting and had heard about Traphouse. They didn't disappoint the food was seasoned well and had good portions. I also ordered the hibiscus mint tea and my sister had the trap juice. They both were delicious.

Salad which only had ranch (yuck) or a spicy green dressing
    Angela B.

The food was on point. When we walked in had more of a club feel than restaurant. Dark lighting and loud (but good) music. Only a couple other peeps having dinner. Ordered the jerk chicken with sweet potatoes and coconut rice and greens along with a beef patty. The jerk chicken was exactly what you'd expect and the sweet potatoes were my favorite. Greens not complaints there. The beef patty to me could have been a thinner dough and meat spread out more. The service was great and they delivered to the table despite having a call number. Other than being caught off guard with the club like setting and the decor, the food was good. I'd return to the other items.

We ordered the smoked avocado escabeche and loved it - the plantain chips (I think) really worked well with the avocado. For mains we had the west Indian curry and jerk chicken. The curry was very flavorful and the chicken was spiced perfectly. I'd recommend, and would go back!

There were definitely some issues, but I think that lays more on the restaurant itself rather than the servers. Sure they know the plates name and what is used to make it, but they couldn't tell us what made it a "Guyanese Roti". Was it a bussup shut? Was it dosti? They had no idea. We sent the jerk chicken back so we could get it cut up into some smaller pieces so we could share it, and the kitchen refused. Which was a little annoying, but what was more annoying was that it took them over 10 minutes to just say no. The staff here is not trained to deal with some real deal Trinis who are gonna rib you and ask questions about the food. *Drinks- We enjoyed all the drinks we had! They were all delicious and we liked that they at least used some Caribbean ingredients in them. The beer section is lacking heavily though. To only offer red stripe as the Caribbean beer is very disappointing, especially since Carib and Stag are sold here in the states. The excuse of it being "too expensive" doesn't sit well when I can go to total wine down the road and get it. *Food- The most controversial part of our meal. We ordered quite a bit after being told everything was shareable, but what we found that to not be 100% true. Certain things like the Wild Boar pepper pot were, but the "West Indies" curry was not. Most of the food was sadly not remarkable and didn't have the spice and flavor it should've had. The most disappointing was the curry, it felt more like a Japanese style curry than a West Indies curry. Barely any meat for the 28 dollars you pay, the flavor was just flat with no spice, and whatdeass is the cabbage there for? I don't want to hark too much, because at the end we still enjoyed the food. But do not come here thinking you're going to get the real deal Caribbean cuisine. *Dessert- I guess we wanted a "likkle muore" and ordered desert. We had the flan and tres leches, and both were delicious. If you want a little something sweet, I'd recommend the flan. It was almost a cheesecake texture and the jam it came with complimented that extremely well. Wasn't too sweet and it was a great end to the meal. TLDR; The food is okay, but at this price it's not worth it. It's not true enough to Caribbean food as we would have liked. If they're playing to "local" tastes, they should stop and serve dishes with the spice, seasonings, and strong flavor that is so synonymous with Caribbean food. I wouldn't come back, nor would I recommend it, especially charging $28 for a curry with 4 pieces of meat, 5 potatoes, and 3 pieces of chana. If you do come; get a drink, get the wild boar and roti, get the flan, and maybe grab a shirt that says "jerk your heart out" on your way out.

From speaking with Tony Jr. today, they also have a restaurant in Pflugerville. I ordered jerk chicken, which fell off the bones and came with cabbage, rice and peas and plantain. I have traveled to Jamaica a couple of times, this Jamaican food was the real deal. The jerk chicken was a bit spicey but not set your tongue on fire spicey. The rice and peas along with the cabbage was perfectly seasoned. The standout for me was the sweet plantain, spoken like a plantain connoisseur. The plantain was sweet on the inside and slightly charred on the outside...perfect combination. The only improvement would have been for me to get a side of plantain. My food was delivered fast and hot. Tony Jr. was super personable and friendly. There is seating in the center of the food truck park. You hear tunes being played in the background. The food truck park is at the core of East Austin in a semi-residential area. Street parking is available for diners. I look forward to trying curry goat and oxtails and more.

We decided to eat at Bikkle, close to the University of Texas at Austin on Guadalupe Street. Bikkle is known for its authentic Jamaican cuisine such as jerk chicken, oxtails (hard to find anywhere anymore) and curry goat. Between the four of us, we ordered jerk chicken, curry goat, and curry chicken. We all went for red beans and rice with cabbage. All dishes came with plantain, which is one of my favorites. Having been to Jamaica a couple of times, I can report out that this food is authentic! The flavors were swirls of goodness in every bite. The food was also warm when served. We also ordered jerk chicken egg rolls. Just think about that concept for a minute. The jerk chicken egg rolls were exceptionally good. The highlight for me was the curry goat. First, you do not find goats on many menus. The curry goat was tender and oh so flavorful. Some pieces had associated fat. All in all, everyone was happy with their meals. During our dinner, only one person was serving customers. She was super friendly and personable. I must think she was overworked as the stream of customers came in. Now for the décor...if you walked in and looked only at the counter, you would have thought it was a "to go" restaurant only as many "to go" containers were stacked high on the counter. Only one other couple sat down and ate in the restaurants and most folks were picking up their food to go. Even the people eating inside the restaurant were served in "to go" containers. The inside is minimalist with no ornate furnishings and yellow walls, projecting a Caribbean feel. Recommend adding a bit more Jamaican artifacts such palm trees, Jamaican flag, surfboard, etc. It would be a great spot for students, friend meet ups and a causal date night... Bikkle Jamaican Restaurant it was great and represented authentic Jamaican food well! We definitely will be returning.

I went back and forth because I thought Tony's was closed today. But after checking again, I realized there are two locations. This location is open on Mondays. The other one is not, but you always have this location on Monday, which is really great. One reason is that after I ate my oxtails, rice, cabbage, and plantains, I realized I would need a location that is always open. Not to get ahead of myself, I walked inside and instantly felt the island vibe of beautiful Jamaica. I took it all in before ordering. The oxtails were the most tender I've had, with a lot of flavor. I should call this dish the most flavorful dish I've ever had. Every item on my plate had a lot of flavor. The rice alone should have its own spot on the menu. It's not always that you find a place that puts as much effort into the rice and peas, cabbage, and plantains as they put into the oxtails. But this place did. This was the real rice and peas that go with oxtails, not some made-up version. The plantains were highly favored; they weren't mushy, they had a firmness and a sweet and savory taste. Now the hostess wasn't friendly at all. I'm still wondering what kind of interaction that was. Of course, I was asking her about the menu, and she just stared at me. It was the strangest thing. To make sure this was happening, I brought up the other location, and she stared, her head tilted. She honestly mumbled one word, and I really don't know what that could have been. So that made me feel uncomfortable.
