I bought a certified CX 9 last year in Tracy Mazda. The price of CX9 was $32000. After a couple of months I found out that Thrace Mazda charged me more than $7000 extra for a guarantee and the manager didn't tell me about it. As a result, the total price of the car for me was $43000. I think this is fraud. Now I stay away from Tracy Mazda. read more

I met with Frank, Jim, & Zamir & received the most excellent service! For being a first time car buyer from a dealership, they had made my experience very easy going & I felt no pressure into buying a car. Jim had worked with me to not have to have a cosigner & was very patient with my requests. I just want to thank the staff at Mazda Dealership in Tracy for an incredible experience and being able to walk out with a 2015 Mazda3! read more

I had a great experience working with Kristie buying a 2013 Mazda3. She was so easy to work with, very knowledgable about the car and negotiations were comfortable. I am so happy with the car, its in beautiful condition, and feel the price was very fair. I had a strong down payment and financed the rest of the car and they were able to get me a very competitive rate. I'd go back in an instant. read more

We had the best experience here today. We spent the day traveling to different dealerships only to be turned off by the aggressive and pushy antics that so many of the sales people have. We finally landed at Tracy Mazda where we were greeted by Jim. From the get go he was extremely helpful and friendly. We were able to test drive multiple vehicles and he was supportive of the things we liked and didn't like. We never once felt pressured to make a sale that wasn't right for us, and the team helped us finance a car that we fell in love with that aligned with our budget. We will definitely be back again, hubby got his car today, it's my turn next time! read more

The service department here is the best! I bought my 14 Mazda 6 through Dublin and after taking it in to be serviced there, every time nothing would be fixed it was never ending with the horrible service. So I decided to come to Tracy to see if I could finally get everything done right, and I did. Jesse and Crystal are super friendly and work very hard to get all your issues resolved. Its very nice to know that you can drop off your car with ease knowing that it will be in the right care. Keep up the great work guys! read more

Me and my wife needed a commuter car since I work in Hayward. We looked online and sent an email that we wanted to make a visit. Amy emailed us right away and made the appointment. Let me start off my saying Kristie did an amazing job! She showed us 3 different used cars in our price range and we fell in love with a Hyundai Sontata. The paper work was quick and easy and she is fun to talk to. The next car we get will definitely be from Kristie ! read more

Beware! I took my CX-7 in for recall work. Upon completion, I was given a list of items that needed repair, totalling $900+. These included my wipers, which were less than a month old, and brakes, which I had checked the prior week during a tire rotation. Whether they checked and still tried to rob me, or didn't check at all, it's fraud. read more

Shout out to my man Don Whelan! This is the first time ever I'm buying a car off a dealership. I wanted a 2009-2010 MY Acura TSX or same MY Honda Accord. I checked out a few other dealerships around my area in Hayward & Fremont. Not just I don't like the cars they have, they are also very pushy in trying to sell you the car they have. One even tried to talk me into signing some document saying it's "not a contract. dont worry you're not obligated to buy it" yeah right. Anyway, back to Tracy Mazda. I saw the Acura TSX on the internet and contacted the dealer about the car. Don called and sent me an email. Asked me when can I come to check out the car. He was not pushy or anything like "come here now, we can't hold the car for you". I told him the only available time I can visit is the following saturday and he was fine. Told me just to call before I leave home so he can have the car ready. When I got there, Don showed me 2 identical TSXs, only difference on1 has navi and other one doesn't. I test drove the one that doesn't have navi. BTW it's $1000 cheaper. plus I don't need a navi. So, Don and I took the car for a ride. The car was awesome! it's got 66K miles on it but it handles every bump on the road like a brand spanking new car! I was able to feel the car and think about my decision without any pressure. Don was very casual the entire time. we did not even talk about "buying" the car. We were just talking about motorcycles and old cars. By the time we got back to the dealership I was already done thinking. Before he was able to ask me if I want the car, I already told him I want it. The price was dead on with all the Pricing websites like KBB and Edmunds.com so I did not bother with fighting over the price. The paperwork took forever though, but like everyone I ask, it really does take long wherever you go. The finance manager also gave me a nice deal with the extended warranty. Before I went on with my search for a car, I was reading a lot of stuff about buying cars. I was scared of all the horror stories about dealerships and how salesmen take advantage of first time buyers. But after my experience with Tracy Mazda and Don, there are still a few good men out there. read more

Tracy mazda offers a good price ! I live in south bay and someone told me that if you go further out of bay area you would get a good deal. I was kind of skeptical on going but I inquired on web and immediately Heather Wellbaum contacted me. I have to be honest she was quite responsive to all my questions, doubts etc etc.. During the process I have send enormous emails/text messages to clarify and then to re clarify. She was very nice and easy to work with and got me better deal than the bay area dealerships. May be they would have matched the price but I felt so comfortable dealing with tracy mazda. They were nice to me which was not the experience at the bay area mazda dealerships... The whole experience was fantastic from Jim our sales consultant to Charles Lunsford our finance guy. They both worked to get us a great deal. Special thanks to Jim for staying an hour after closing, to show and walk my wife through all the features of the car. I wish all dealers and sales associates could be as thoughtful and pleasant as Jim and Charles. If your looking for a new car I highly recommend stopping by Tracy Mazda and talking to Jim Anthony. Tracy Mazda - Me on the links. - Car Dealers Near Me - Tracy, California

Beware - management is deceitful! They make false promises to get you into their dealership and not honor them. I spent two weeks negotiating my needs with Mazda dealers within 350 miles and receive multiple offers. Burlingame Mazda offered the lowest price but didn't have the color I want in stock. After multiple confirmations and reassurances of a match in price and the car over the course of a week, I decided to move forward with the purchase at Tracy Mazda, 150 miles away. Once there Zamir, finance manage presented different #s! When asked why the price didn't matched, he stated that they are selling me a different car. The one they were selling to me had tire locks, an extra option I didn't want nor agreed on! When I pointed out that the definition of a match is the same, nothing more and nothing less. Zamir became very hostile, how he would be happy to cancel the deal, etc. Shady, shady, shady! At the end, I brought the car as time invested and I didn't want to start all over again at a different dealer. After the purchased, I found the tire locks were sitting inside a bag in the glove compartment not even installed! How infuriating! Zamir said to bring car back when service center is open and that they will install for me for free. 3 hrs. on the road, gas, bridge toll, hack no! I ask if he would pay to have a dealer closer to me to install them. He said no. So, 3 months later, tire locks are still in the glove compartment. Tracy Mazda use the tactic "bait and switch". Learn from my experience, don't go there! read more

I've been to Tracy Mazda many times in the 5 years I've lived in Tracy. I used to own a Mazda6 and always had it serviced solely by this dealer. Exceptional staff in the SERVICE department! 5 stars for Tracy Mazda Service! They are awesome, always took great care of my 6. Anyhow so yes to emphasize again, the Service department is great and unfortunately they happen to work at the same dealership as the SALES team. My story begins here when I tried to trade in my Mazda6 about a year ago, at the same dealership that had been doing service on it regularly for about 4 years(hint hint, they know the history). Anyhow they offered me about $1000 less than kbb "fair" trade-in value, while simultaneously touting the awesomeness of their own cars! Are you kidding me?! You're seriously going to sit there and tell me how incredible Mazda's are but you're offering me crap for my mazda that you've serviced for this long? Needless to say I didn't deal with them further and purchased a VW instead. Yesterday, went into this dealership against my better judgement because my brother-in-law and his wife were looking for a Mazda3 hatchback. Hoping their attitude had changed since my last visit I went with them and we test drove a 3. Price didn't match from what they had posted on their own website...typical dealer strategy to swindle the less informed. Don't understand how this still works in 2013 with internet and smartphones but I guess some people actually walk in and pay the sticker price. So the Saleswoman pounced on us as we parked. I feel there's a happy medium when it comes to timing for approaching a customer on a car lot, you don't want people searching all over to find you but at the same time you don't want to be in their face as they're driving up...just my opinion. Went on the drive, buyer liked the car...we went inside for the dreaded "negotiating". It went almost identical to Ian S' description below. All the standard basic math stupidity along with blue book value printouts showing the "value" of their car while assuming that we don't have the same blue book value for trade-in which essentially tells me how much they paid for the car. Drawing from my past experience with this dealership specifically (not that crappy trade-in offers are exclusive to them) it's safe to assume they didn't pay a dime over "fair" value if even close to that. When I presented this information to the saleswoman and told her we weren't there to talk about monthly payments but price of the car she took the offer back to her manager back and forth a couple times and came back and told us that they could only drop the car price $80 because they would be losing money according to their little kbb "retail" value printout. HAHAHAHHAHAH. I was confused by how they could possibly be losing this "imaginary" money since i'm pretty sure how much they paid for the car so I questioned her math. This annoyed her...oh well, and we all agreed there was no deal to be made. No offers to possibly get my sister-in-law into another mazda 3 closer to the price we wanted or another car on their lot(even though they're partnered with Tracy Honda, Dublin Honda, Dublin Mazda, Dublin Nissan). Nope, basically "we don't need your money and there's the door". Cool. So we drove next door and bought a car at another dealer in the Tracy auto mall. Completely different customer service approach that was refreshing but that's a different review. If you're the manager of Tracy Mazda I understand you may want to talk about this but as my family members already purchased a vehicle there's really nothing left to say is there. read more

Though I'm usually one to recommend (or not recommend) businesses to friends by word of mouth, I decided that making a big purchase was worth writing a review. I also decided it is not worth my time to write negative reviews for the three other Mazda dealerships I went to in and around the Bay Area before coming to Tracy Mazda, because I believe that each person is different and will have their own experience. This review is for the Sales Department only. Staff was knowledgeable and helpful. At the other dealerships I visited, some staff knew what they were selling, and others were clueless. Additionally, even before buying my car, staff was excellent about following up with me and answering my questions over the phone. The car search started 3+ months ago, initially for a car for my other half, who has been in the market for a manual Mazda3 SGT. When the 2016 models started arriving in the Bay Area, Jim A. called me to let me know what he saw was coming in and that he planned to reach out to another dealer to see if he could get his hands on a car that we had been looking for. When the other dealer did not respond, Jim and the team went ahead and ordered the car for us. Through all of this, I was confident that, when I was in the market for my own car, I would be taken care of. The dealership is located a little ways away if you are coming from the SF Bay Area. However, there are some great country roads without any traffic that make for a great test drive if the freeway is backed up. You may not get hills this way, but you can test the acceleration and handling at higher speeds and around some sharp curves. The dealership has a good selection of cars and, from my experience, staff will try to get you what you want if they don't have it in stock. In addition to walking away with the car I wanted, a 2015 Mazda3 i Touring, I felt like I got a fair price and was treated with respect throughout the process. We look forward to the day when our 2nd car arrives at the dealership! In all, I am a happy customer. read more

Best experience at any dealer, ever. Up front no hassles pricing, no pressure, helpful sales staff, A+ in every regard. Got quotes from 3 or 4 other dealers, no one even came close. Just bought 2nd car from Tracy Mazda. After first experience I wasn't going to come back, typical sales people spamming me and trying to make me add, add, add. However, 2012 car very dependable and Taz Harvey stepped up when we had an issue. I'm a difficult customer so I initially was only going to test drive a new Mazda 6 and internet shop elsewhere. Zack changed my mind, not by peer pressuring me, but by agreeing to all my terms and stepping away for a couple of days to let me make up my mind. Mike immediately matched lower prices I found. And when I told them what I wanted Zack left right away to Oakland to get the car. Came back in perfect condition. Thank you and congrats to us all. read more

Found a Hyundai that was in better shape, cleaner and better priced than the ones at the Hyundai deanship across the street. Was looking for a decent used car for our daughter who's getting her license soon. Spotted a Hyundai at the Tracy Honda & Mazda dealership in town. Paid them a visit and stopped at the Hyundai dealer on the way there-I'd forgotten we had a dealer in town and thought I'd see what they had. One car looked ok but it was filthy and the trade they offered me on my Mini Cooper was way below market. So I continued on to Honda. Honda passed me to Mazda, same ownership but separate systems. I was helped out by Heather who steered me to the car I was after and showed me a fair alternative, also a Hyundai. This one had a hideous (in my opinion) interior and a couple of scratches (cosmetic only) on the side, so I went with my original pick. Got a much better offer on my trade-in, also. Couple of hours later, it's always tedious, I was handed the keys and off I went. Heather did what she could to ease the process but I confess I was ready to bail at one point. As much as car sales have changed over the years with internet comps, Carfax and the like, when the sales person disappears into the back you always feel abandoned. Anyway, the deal came together with numbers I am comfortable with. This is the second vehicle we've bought from Tracy Honda/Mazda. Seems like they're focused on service and taking care of their customers. The guys at the other dealership were a little pushy and the finance manager was the typical jerk you expect in that position. Charles, finance manager at Mazda, was straightforward, no nonsense, in and out, just the way I like it. Would recommend them as a first stop for anyone looking for a new or used car, Honda, Mazda or any other brand from their pre owned inventory. read more

Sales department is horrible. Please save yourself time from these tarted up reviews. Like every dealer worth it's salt it selectively manages its yelp reviews. Shady shady shady SHADY. Same dumb tricks of keeping customers waiting and irritated. Will check your credit when you've asked them not to. Will add on extended warranty and gap insurance protection onto a maze of an itemized quote. So you have to ask them to take out $4K from final price of car. Will low ball your KBB fair market dealer trade for the car. 2-5% is understandable. 15%? Will bring out not quite creditable eBay "trades" and print out sheets to show why your trade is worth significantly less than market value. And then a whole sob story about how the dealer pays $700 to "re-condition" your trade. Btw, my trade has 10,000 miles on it. The kicker; will take out your potential trade without asking, and mess up all your settings Ugh, waste of 3 perfectly good hours. If you must go and don't have a choice, Kristie DeBenedetti and Joe Khan. Do NOT work with these two. Sorry guys, you're both perfectly pleasant but that's some lame wheelin and dealing. Not worth the energy to walk into the store. read more

I try to never give a 1 star to anyone, so this is a first for me. Here's why: we went to buy a used Mazda 3, year 2010 from this dealership. Of course we were wary of dealerships, but they had exactly what I wanted: a black Mazda 3, manual (5-speed), tan interior, etc. I drove it around, it was nice, we bought it. Fast forward just a year later, and we start having problems with the clutch. We take it to our local Mazda dealership here in San Jose, and they looked up the VIN number to see the warranty on it. They proceeded to tell us that there is NO warranty on our car at all (this Tracy dealership told us it had a 100,000 mile warranty that covered the power train), and it isn't even certified (whatever the heck that means) which the Tracy dealership also told us it was. Needless to say, we're paying a ton of money to replace the clutch only a year later. Don't trust what this dealership tells you, I certainly won't. They sold us a car with no warranties on it, a clutch that was about to go out, and a ton of broken promises and dreams. (Ok, that last one is a little dramatic, but the rest of it is true!) Serves us right buying from a dealership. P.S. Clutches aren't covered underneath a power train warranty, but I am just upset that we have no warranty at all, and that the clutch failed so soon after we bought it. It's only a 5 year old car!!! UPDATE: I am changing my review to a 3 star, just because the manager called us, contacted corporate, and tried to help out with our warranty situation. Turns out there was a glitch in the system and we DO have a powertrain warranty. Yay. I can't give anything more than a 3 star because I'm still upset that our clutch went out one year after buying it. But props to the manager for contacting us, and trying to help us out. read more

Let me start by saying KUDDO to Michael Hallsted and Tracy Mazda! I have been researching the perfect car for my family and it took me a year to find it. I test drove the Ford Escape, and the Edge, the Toyota Rav 4, Dodge Journey, and the Mazda CX9 at several occasions at at 3 different dealers. The service at Tracy Mazda is unprecedented. As I researched the best fit for our needs it became obvious to me that the CX9 is in a class on its own. The CX9 Touring model makes for the perfect luxury Crossover. For me it all came down to finding the right dealer, this is May 2013. I went to Dublin Mazda. There I met Michael Barilleau. I was with my significant other the first time and she felt disrespected by him. We drove the CX9 touring with technology package. The car felt really good. I took Michael's contact info, and left the lot. I called the following day and it took them 3 to get back to me. I was interested to come down, this time by myself and crunch some numbers so I can get a quote - at fair value. In the showroom, we talked about the price I was ready to offer - I based the price of the Kelly Blue Book . Michael B. told me that this sounded reasonable, but wouldn't give me a firm price or a quote. I told him I wanted to test drive the Journey, to make sure I was making the right choice. The sales manager Reyes Garcia comes over and asked "What's going on here?", Michael answered that I was interested in the CX9, but was also looking to test drive the Journey. That's when M. Garcia - who obviously had noticed my European accent - asked "How long have you been in the country for?". I felt personally insulted. I responded "How does this matter to me buying a car?". He stepped back and said "Well, you should know not to by an American car. Buy Japanese!". I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I paused. He continued "I know cars, I have been selling cars for more than 30 years!. There is only one thing that I have done longer, is to be married with my wife for 34." He showed me a family portrait. I looked at him and answered " Well, then it seems that the CX9 is a done deal for me!". Moment of awkward silence.. The manager walks away. I tell Michael, I'm going to have to go now. He answered, before you go, let's take another CX9 for a test drive. I was really shaken by my encounter with M. Garcia. I said OK, and left the lot after the second test drive.. I was resolved to continue my quest. I took the whole family out to Manteca on Saturday, and test drove the long awaited Journey at the good people of Cabral (Chrysler - Jeep - Dodge - Ram). Those guys are super nice and I recommend this dealer any day! Talk to Adam Cardona, one of the sweetest guy I've met. We test drove an R/T FWD version and my 2 daughter immediately fell in love with this car. They loved the interior LED, cup holder, ice chest compartment, and most of all the smell of a beautiful brand new car. I was stuck between a rock and a hard place - my heart was on the CX9, and the girls loved the Journey. We came back in the showroom and vowed to take our time to choose the right car at the right dealer and left. On the way back home, I told the girls if you are really set on the Journey, then I'd like for you to try the CX9. We stopped at Tracy Mazda. At Tracy Mazda, we met Michael Hallsted. Warm fella'. During the test-drive, my girls immediately appreciated the difference in interior quality, cargo space professional grade of this vehicle. On our way back to the showroom I explained to Michael, that I had spotted a vehicle at the Dublin store with the proper specs, but had felt disrespected there. He explained to me that both store belong to the same owner and that the policy is to take care of the customers. We sat down and I gave him the papers I had worked on with Michael B. at Dublin. Michael H. was very courteous and personable. While we discussed price, option, experience, and other things of life my two young daughters were playing "out-run" on the car simulation console. The environment is really pleasant. The few hours we spent wrapping things up were surprisingly agreeable. By the end of the day, we bought this beautiful Mazda and came home knowing we were treated kindly and fairly. I came back to pick up the car the next day, and Michael H. had filled up with a full tank of gas. In summary, shopping for the perfect car for our family was really hard, and most dealers don't want to give you any quote or negotiate any deal. The salesman on the floor is put in a position where he has to proxy the offer to the sales manager, so he plays ping-pong on any offer. This process is really stressful for the consumer, and unless you are a savvy buyer, you are always left with the feeling that you've been taken advantage of. At Tracy Mazda, this was the opposite. I felt respected and gave them my business. I would certainly consider coming back and take advantage of the loyalty discount for my next Mazda. Thank you Michael H read more
