The employees here at this tractor supply are so amazing! I was trying to order something for my son and ran into soooo many problems. Michelle tried her best for over an hour to get through to customer solutions, and they kept hanging up on her, which was really frustrating! Lauren Nicole was the absolute star for me. She took control and got the matter resolved. I am so conflicted writing this review because the store itself deserves a zero because of how hard it was to accomplish buying and delivering an object over $500.00 after two hours in the store and Lauren Nicole rescuing me.... the item was delivered the next day damaged. Solid steal welded cages should not have broken bars. By that point, my son was over it, and I was leaving back to California. The college kids working at this location aren't helpful at all. I've already become accustomed to knowing they're going to just regurgitate if the item isn't on shelf it's not available. Which I've disproven countless times. Having to order specific items via online and selecting curbside or pickup at the particular location I've been told product wasn't available at. Tends to occur each time I need something specific that only this store carries. Not only does this stores management condone and encourage lying to customers to avoid stock checks. They allow their female cashier to talk about partying after work and how close they reside to bars and how good they drive whilst intoxicated. The utter lack of concern to hold conversations like this in front of customers. Just lends itself to how management cares about the business. This particular conversation took place on 5/6/2023 near 7:45 or closing of store. Two other male associates were in this unprofessional conversation. Lack of concern to just speak in that manner amongst coworkers. Suggests these employees may be of relation to management since they feel no risk of termination. Blatantly ignoring a paying customer to speak about something like drinking and driving and proximity to these bars. Makes one ponder the possibilities of how this worker lacks simple conversation etiquette in front of customers. What other unhinged things are discussed at this tractor supply location. Worst experience I've had with a Tractor Supply. Manager refused to price match Amazon claiming that that location only price matches brick and mortar businesses. Well someone should tell their corporate office that so they can change the company policy then. Due to the management lies I was unable to do my Christmas shopping with this company. The purpose of price matching is to keep the customer not to lose the customer to the competition. Management needs to learn the company policies before they can claim to be a manager. I love this store. They are always friendly. I buy my feed there, but also have bought panels for our fence, propane fills for our tanks and other things that are we use around our house. Love the vet care. We have used the Saturday vet clinic for our animal vaccines for inexpensive way to get our cats and dogs vaccinated. I've never had a bad experience here and I've used them for at least 10 years read more

I have been in several Tractor Supply stores in the area and have always had a good experience. Occasionally I need the restroom, and today I went into this one. It was the dirtiest bathroom I have ever been in. There were black rings growing in one toilet, one was full of toilet paper and "waste", the floor was dirty with a dead roach in the corner. I sent Tractor Supply this email after my first encounter at the store in San Marcos: "Last Friday afternoon I visited your store in San Marcos TX to purchase Luxol leather cleaner, having been referred to your stores by the manufacturer. The item was out of stock on the shelf and I made an inquiry as to when more might be available. I was rather disturbed when I was told there was some in the back room, but that the employees were not permitted to retrieve the item because they were supposed to be on the sales floor helping customers. Just what sort of help do your employees offer your customers beyond facilitating the sale of the products you are supposedly selling?" They responded with this email soon after: "Thank you for visiting the Tractor Supply Company Website. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you. Please respond with your original message and include your name. When we receive this information, we will contact the District Manager of that location and someone will contact you soon afterwards. Thanks! Tractor Supply Team" Now, months later I have yet to hear from anyone. Did I get my Luxol from somewhere else? You bet I did. They were very pleased to take my money away from TS. read more

The college students they hire (when they actually have enough people there working) don't seem to know where anything is or have any clue about the stuff they have for sale. One time I waited 15-20 min just to ask about a piece of hardware. I won't be returning to this store again. read more

What do you do with half of an old school Mal*Wart? You turn it into a Tractor Supply Company! I've found these stores to _occasionally_ have something i need and can't find anywhere else. But, for the most part, they are eclipsed by the Orange and Blue Box stores of the world. This store seems dirty and disorganized each time I've been there. I haven't had the bad experiences that others write about. I shop here regularly since the farm store in town burned down. :-( They have a good all-vegetable protein chicken feed my silkies do well on. Lots of livestock products - feeders, waterers, fencing, etc. A very large selection of pet products. They also stock chick and ducks in the spring. I've bought two large garden tillers here and the staff was helpful loading them on to my trailer. I've also been able to find hardware here the big box stores don't carry. They definitely have the farmer/rancher/urban farmer in mind. Yes, they can be more expensive on some small stuff, but when competing against the Big Box they have to make profit. read more

Horrible if your needing to refill your propane tank. I found an associate and asked if someone could refill my tank. I was told that they have to call it in at the front (meaning stand in the lengthy line for the sole cashier). Once she calls it in and you finally get your tank refilled you have to return to the same line and wait to pay. Let me help you by strongly suggesting another option for propane tank refill! read more

Wow!! Service, 0 stars. Inventory, 0 stars. Attitude, 0 stars. Why doesn't yelp give us a complete fail option. The stock listed online is not what they have. No knowledge of the products and their potential danger, saying that deer corn is non-gmo when it is gmo and is causing wildlife problems. Not having the other feed listed online as being in stock and then suggesting deer corn and saying that it works just as well. And then every time I come in the help does nothing but sit around and this time made a comment that was inappropriate for the workplace. Disturbing. Avoid at all costs. Buda and New Braunfels are the better choice. read more

I would like to submit a review of my experience today at Tractor Supply in San Marcos, TX. Since I was running low on horse feed, I called ahead to be sure they had a particular brand of feed, and the sales associate I spoke with stated it was in stock. When I arrived to pick it up, one of the sales associates was helpful in showing me where the bag (last one on the shelf) was and also checked the expiration date. In the past, I have had trouble with Tractor Supply selling expired products, so after we confirmed the date was good I made the purchase. Unfortunately though I didn't check to see if there were any holes in the bag which were taped over. A few months ago, I purchased a bag of the same feed but didn't realize the bag had a hole with electrical tape placed over it, and I noticed it when I got home. Today, the same thing happened, only this time there were 3 holes that had been taped over, and I can't believe I didn't check for this. The fact that TS San Marcos is selling expired horse feed is one serious problem, but selling a bag of feed that has holes in it, taped over, and is sitting on a shelf for sale is absolutely shameful. When I noticed it, I immediately called to speak with the manager, and not once did he apologize for this mistake. He did state that TS would refund my money. I will no longer be shopping at any of the Tractor Supply stores and will order the feed I need online from another company and also find another place to shop. Due to feed safety and quality control issues, I would not recommend Tractor Supply Company and the San Marcos store in particular. If horse, livestock, and pet owners are concerned for their animals' health, there are other feed store options and many other hardware companies in the area. read more
