I showed up to the Wimberley H-E-B thinking I was just buying crawfish. What I actually found was Xavier and Mae running a full-blown crawfish command center. Steam everywhere. Bags flying. Line moving fast. People smiling. Meanwhile these two are cool as can be like they've been training for crawfish season their whole lives. Food was hot, fresh, and seasoned so good I almost got back in line pretending it was my first time. H-E-B -- take notes. Another reason I love to visit my mom in Wimberley is that I get to shop as H-E-B. This is a smaller footprint but they carry all the usual brands with great prices. This H-E-B is local to locals so you will often finds guests stopped in the isles chatting and catching up. H-E-B delivers in service and helpful employees making themselves available for questions. I was in the area and needed to pick up a few items. I had flour tortillas on my list and I went to the bakery area to ask if they had any freshly made tortillas? A really nice young lady said I could find them on aisle 1 and sadly they did not make any fresh ones at this location. She handled answering that question beautifully. There is such a wide variety of merchandise that I love shopping at H-E-B! I recently had their store brand bratwurst and it is amazing!! I came today to buy more!! Two stars as the pharmacy is a disaster. They call you and say your prescription is ready. They text you and say your prescription is ready. Then when you go to pick it up...... it is NOT ready and they give some lame excuse as to why it will be 20-30 minutes or you can come back in a couple of hours..... the automated call prompts need some work as does the processes in the pharmacy. The people are nice, the processes are BROKEN and thus the processes cause customer satisfaction issues and HEB doesn't seem to care. read more

The store itself is fine. Stock is good and the public areas are clean. I shop at various H‑E‑B stores in my area and the attitude of the associates has gone downhill. My friends have made similar comments, which leads me to believe corporate has implemented new policies that are less than favorable for the floor and cashier staff. The cashiers from 3 different locations have all been rude & two didn't bother to say thank you. Floor associates avoid eye contact if unable to get away. Last week one associate was down right snotty to a customer who unfortunately knocked an item off the shelf which broke. As the customer apologized, the associate continued her nasty comments even as the customer walked away when maintenance showed up to clean the mess. I recently switched to this particular store for my scripts. Had hoped this pharmacy had it together. But it's the same thing of bad attitude and scripts not being ready. Or my favorite of getting the passive aggressive email stating the script has been ready for 5 days & will be returned to stock if not picked up within 3 days. I know this is an automated email, but my script was sent less than 48 hours prior to the pharmacy. read more

I can never get enough of this grocery story when visiting in Texas. So much variety of items galore. This one is a bit on the smaller size due to nearby smaller communities but nonetheless meets your needs and more. I tried out the curbside delivery the other day and I was highly impressed with their customer service and their attentiveness to items for swaps if not available and they were right on time with delivery of items. I plan on utilizing this service again soon. Prices are the best in town and ease of checkout as well. Plenty of parking and lots of friendly smiley faces at the registers. read more

The store itself is quite decent, clean, presentable and house most of what you need. However the pharmacy is a nightmare. This place will make you wait for an hour while they run you around with all kinds of excuses. First they say they don't have the script, so then you call your provider and they call the pharmacy. You wait 20 minutes go back and then they tell you they were waiting on insurance or another excuse and then they FINALLY start working on it. And then you have to wait another 20 minutes just to come back to get it. read more

The cashiers are friendly, the store is clean and easy to navigate and the selection is great for a smaller one. But the pharmacy is simply awful. They aren't in a hurry. Your meds are never there and ready unless you specifically tell them to make it so (even if your physician calls it in) and even then you'll likely have to wait. Sometimes it IS because they're busy, but often not. It's simply poorly run. read more

Simply said this is an Awesome HEB...small store for a small town with a very unique look...The low hung ceiling gives a small store feel..and the use of the old gymnasium floor threw out the store, the bleachers used per aisle with high school style numbers for the aisles set this store apart from the rest of the stores HEB opens. The use of "County Style" items used through out is really cool..Of course you have the HEB service we are used too..Friendly people and a good selection for the size of the store...Just another reason I Love working for HEB, they truly give it there all when opening a new store. read more

So this place is both horrible and great. As a semi resident of swiveled, and best friend to a woman who has lived here all her life; this HEB was not what this town wanted. The store itself is new and clean, which is obviously good. The choices are really limited, and their "scoreboard" directly accosts the hometown grocer that's been in business for as long as we can remember. I think it's tacky. Absolutely disgusted at the fact that the gas station doesn't have a working air pump for tires. I spend $1.50 to put air in my tires, but the stupid dispenser doesn't even have an air gauge to tell you how much you put in. They don't sell an air gauge, and the one I had in my car is battery-operated and broken. And the number that you call for service doesn't work after hours. read more

The store itself is great but like another reviewer stated the pharmacy is beyond terrible! Every time I have to wait for my prescription even if it's called in days before in fact I received a call for my refill through the automated system (which they provide) 2 days ago saying my prescription would be ready for pickup on Monday at 10:00am. I get off work and head over glad it will be ready the lady at the counter tells me they haven't even started it!!! And asked me if I'm out of the medication? Really I told her yes and she says she'll put a rush on it!!!! This is a life saving medication for me. My neighbors and I were just complaining about this over the weekend. Her son has severe eczema and it took them 2 weeks to fill it they told her sick people come first. Poor kids was so raw it was sad!!! I'm switching pharmacies!!! Another disappointing trip to Wimberley HEB! Although the prices are good, the service is horrible. Cashier and grocery bagger spent entire time talking about their boyfriends, family, school, & problems that neither one of them heard my request for a bag of ice or the need to please not crush my bread with that can of corn. I hope they begin soon to teach the baggers how to bag and the cashiers how to focus on the customers as though they understand that we provide the funds to write their paychecks. PSA: I ALWAYS tip. Whether it's HEB delivery or restaurant, I understand these folks work for tips. HOWEVER: If you order from HEB and put a percentage tip for the driver, yet HEB fails to deliver all of said order (no substitutions, for example). They DO NOT adjust the tip. Maybe it's only $2 or $3 dollars each delivery, but if you are on a fixed or limited income, that adds up. Not cool. read more

The town was fairly divided, opinion-wise, when news that an HEB was being built hit the streets. My wife and I were among the people that were happy to get this info. Fast forward to today: we've changed our tune. While everyone is aware that this is an HEB Pantry, meaning they'll carry less products than a larger, standard or HEB Plus would. However, very often, (almost weekly), this HEB has ran out of basic staples, especially in the produce department. Every other department has issues with this, as well, but as we do the bulk of our shopping in the produce area, we notice it there, first. Tonight, (10/12/19), there were no onions. Zero. Of any kind. Now, I've looked online and in the newspaper. No onion shortage that I know of, no holiday, no special onion festival...so where's the onions? Celery was also almost out, as well. Celery. Celery doesnt even taste good. You add it to stock, maybe slather it with peanut butter and raisins, it goes traditionally untouched on a plate of hot wings, but I'm pretty sure it isn't so popular that you should be running out. These are staples that should be in supply, and generally are at every other HEB I've been to, ever. Who orders this stuff, and who takes inventory? To all the other departments in the store, consider that this is you being out on blast, too. I only come to this store when it's an emergency or I need toilet paper, or something. read more

I have had very positive experiences with Wimberley HEB! The store is clean, has a wide selection, and the lines are rarely long and move quickly. The pharmacy is always packed and things never look like they slow down. They are helpful, fast, and when I call about needing a medication quickly, they always make it happen. The curbside/delivery department is amazing. I recently started using them- one time I ordered online because I was sick, and so were a few of my kids. I had to cancel the delivery at the last minute so I can take my son to the Dr. Not only did they set it up for delivery first thing in the AM, but they sent flowers with a card it said "Hope you get well soon", that is what I call going above and beyond in customer service. read more

Grantlan in the pharmacy was amazing and so knowledgeable when our 13 year old daughter experienced a few allergy/asthma symptoms.
