Had a great experience at this Tractor Supply location. The store was super well organized and clean, I was greeted really kindly and warmly- and it was genuine! And they had SO MUCH to choose from. They have a really big Carhartt selection and they also have tons of other super warm coats and hats and gloves and overalls etc. the prices were great too- I got a fabulous deal on a coat for my mom. We were longtime customers of the dirty, down 'n out Saline farm store behind Mickey's Ice Cream, with its dirty, moldy dog food and mouse-chewed bags of chicken food, for years and years. Until one day the guy who worked there popped in, unannounced, at my house to harass me about a check that bounced. He may have been drinking, too. Why not just call? Isn't that why we used to put our phone numbers on checks? What a turnoff! From that day forward, not a penny went to that crappy store. Then, Tractor Supply opened up. It is bright, clean, cheerful and all of the employees are happy to be there. They play hokey country music on the PA and I can bring my dog there. Almost everything is well stocked, though the discontinuation of the chocolate frosted peanut butter krispie treats is baffling. They were so good but not for the waistline! I know, I know. I am a 'no chains' person. But, TSC has delivered to my comfort zone. Dog and cat supplies, tools, fencing, chicken supplies (an astounding selection of chicken treats!), horse supplies including supplements from Uckele in Blissfiend, farm style home decor and gifts. Breyer horse models, seeds, baby chicks and ducklings in spring and yes they will show you how to set them all up. There are always sales going on, so you will not leave empty-handed! read more

You don't need to actually own a tractor to shop at Tractor Supply. The merchandise appeals to the small farm hobbyist, or a homeowner who lives in a rural setting with lots of acreage and needs to tame nature just a bit. (Maybe a tractor might be a good idea after all.) Tractor Supply is fancier than the other, locally owned feed stores. They have a lot of the stuff a feed store has, including cow ear tags and horse vaccines, but they also have what I think of as the "tourist" section, with miniature farm animal and tractor toys. They have Carthart work boots & clothing (I got a nice pair of coverall pants here) along with Ararat shoes & boots and other country inspired footwear, pants & shirts for men & women. I won't buy pet food here--not high enough quality for me. Also, don't let your dog eat anything off the floor. There are occasional spills in the pet food section. I have bought cat and dog collars and leashes, certain treats (read the label if you don't want stuff from China) and a few dog toys over the years. They used to have some 1" wide 6' long leather leashes, but I haven't seen them there these days, so I ended up purchasing a nylon leash, which is not as abrasive on the hands, but my dog doesn't pull on her leash. Leather is better when you have a puppy or a dog that still pulls on the leash. One of my best purchases: a pink, rubbery horse brush (out of the horse supply section) with tiny rubber bristles. It fits over your entire hand, like a mitten. I use it on my cats. It's the giant tongue that licks them all over their body. They love it, and it reduces furballs. They have a very basic selection of veggie and flower seeds in the spring. The bagged onion sets, asparagus roots, rhubarb, etc. are a good value, *IF* you can buy them before the dry heat of the store causes them to sprout, dry out and rot. (Sniff the onion sets before you buy. Don't buy them if they smell like "Ew!") They have pet adoption days once in a while. (Dogs and cats, access to low-cost spay and neuter, etc.) Oh, and the baby chicks and ducks! You could start your own little egg farm. The book and magazine section is very nice. The topics include: homesteading, raising animals, horse riding, do-it-yourself, and traditional arts & crafts. Worth having a look now and then for crafty ideas. They have tractor and lawnmower parts, chainsaws, riding mowers and snow blowers. Most of the parts are made in China, but who makes these in the USA any more? They have a decent hardware fittings section. Between Tractor Supply and ACO hardware, you can usually find what you need in Saline ... otherwise head to Stadium Hardware in Ann Arbor, which seems to have every doodad known to humanity. They let us bring our dog in there, and she gets a treat at the checkout register. She loves the place even more than I do. read more

Tractor Supply is a great little place to get random goodies. First, I needed a dog collar for my awesome dog - plenty of options and good prices (I ended up with a lovely blue collar for $5). Got a HUGE dog? Well, no problem... they carry ones big enough for a horse. Oh, right... they are actually FOR a horse. The dry dog food that they carry there - 4Health - is very highly rated, and is $32 for a 35lb bag. My cheap (i.e., retired) father loves this stuff. We have been having a mouse problem at the house since the cat died a few months back - they got you covered. All kinds of rat poison. The problem is big? Well grab the bucket of poison! They have a lot of other goodies there... you'll just have to stop in and check for yourself. Customer service? Well this might not be the place to go for that. But the people that work there are friendly enough, and my dad mentioned that the guy knew a lot about the dog food. read more

I don't own a tractor but love TSC. I could walk around for hours listening to country music, sifting through horsey magazines and looking at pink Carhart vests.. Wow. I need a life. I would love to give this place more than one star for all the awesome people that work here and help but there is a very rude cashier. I come in to this place at least three times a week. She's the younger blonde one. Next time I need to get her name, she seemed very annoyed that we came in at 7:30 pm when they close at 8 pm and when we asked where we could find mosquito spray for the Yard she didn't do almost anything to help find it. She saw we were looking around the whole store but simply chose not to help. Tractor supply, find another cashier that is happy to sell your products. I just left the saline store and will never go there again. The sale sign said a extra 60 percent off clearance, When I went to the register the manager was very rude. She would not honor the sale. She embarrassed me in front of customers. I'm very disappointed with this store and never going back. read more

I informed the cashier that the toilet light doesn't work in the women's. (I had to prop the door open with the floor heater and then wee with the door half-open in order to get any light.) Love Tractor Supply stores. I go there about once a week as I have lots of chickens, ducks, a mini horse, mule, dogs, etc. and they have everything I need at decent prices. I would recommend this store to anyone. I always ask for TS gift cards for my birthday and Christmas. I am sure that anyone with animals, especially large ones, is well aware of TS stores. read more
