The customer service in here was amazing. I'm pretty sure just about everyone asked me if I needed some help. One would think that's how it is at any store but obviously depending on the store you'll be lucky to have an employee even look in your direction. The store has a great selection of cleaning supplies, food, treats, leashes, and accessories for dogs, cats, and other animals. They do grooming as while so it's worth asking some questions. I was able to pick up some treats and a few cans of wet cat food since I buy both wet and dry food. The staff asked about allergies and any anything that could be harmful. My cat will eat anything though, but great spot overall. read more

There's so much I could say about how much I love Bentley's, I'm not even joking! I live about an hour outside of Ann Arbor, yet I would always find the time whenever I was in the area to make a pit stop at Bentley's to pick up goodies for my pup. The employees here are so knowledgeable and friendly & they were ultimately the ones who worked with me because they cared about our furry children so much to figure out the best food combinations for my dog. All the recommendations they give me I always trust and normally found myself adapting into our every day regimens as well. This place is wonderful, often does sales on all kind of products they carry so check in often, and truly take customer service & passion for our four-legged friends to a whole other level! My pup has been having continued gastric issues that our vet has attributed to a food allergy. As previously mentioned we've suspected turkey but we've noticed some additional discomfort even when we're not feeding him that. Since we've had to play around with protein options and reduced ingredients, Green Pawz has been a God send. They have a great selection of natural, allergy friendly foods and the staff here is SO helpful and really know their stuff when it comes to helping you select something new. I had some questions about the latest food we're giving a go and the fella behind the counter answered quickly and confidently. I can really trust their suggestions and feedback. It takes a while to transition out the previous food but bingers crossed we've found a winner in our latest brand/variety. But if not I know where to go for additional assistance. read more

This great new store on the west side of Ann Arbor (Maple Village Shopping Center) is my new choice of pet store! We discovered this store while looking for some good pet food for our new puppy. When I walked in, I was greeted by the owners, Lisa and John, who were very friendly and welcoming. Lisa took the time to explain all her pet food options to me, telling me that "every food is in here for a reason." She is very focused on making sure all the food she chooses has no bi-products, corn or chemicals. Some of the food is on the pricey side, but how much do you love your dog and want them to be healthy? They didn't have as big of a selection of puppy food, but the few they did have were very good, so I was quite satisfied and decided upon Innova. They also have a great selection of made-in-the-USA dog toys, treats, and dog collars/leashes (she carries Orbie, which is one of my favorite brands of rubber doggie toys -- they last forever!). My fiance and I - and, by extension, our two cats - are big fans of Green Pawz. Both of our cats are on somewhat restricted diets, so we're used to spending more on food than your average cat owners. We also use more environmentally friendly litters than are generally available at stores that aren't specifically for pets. With those specific needs, we tend to do more of our pet supply shopping at stores like Green Pawz, which makes me feel qualified to say that it's great! Green Pawz has a nice assortment of higher end pet foods - including Wellness, Innova, Avoderm, Merrick, and Honest Kitchen - for prices comparable to those at Pet Supplies Plus or Dogma Catmantoo. We haven't tried any of their fresh/frozen pet foods, but they appear to have a good supply for both dogs and cats. Their prices on litter, treats, collars, and toys also appear to be competitive with similar stores, though more expensive than Pet Smart or Target. Really, though, my favorite part of doing my shopping at Green Pawz is seeing Paws (or Pawz?), the adorable store cat. I find it hard to get in and out in less than 10 minutes because I have to track down that little fluffball and play with him as long as he'll let me before I can finish my shopping. read more

Never felt better supporting local! Great owner that really loves what she does. If you ever need advise or help looking for pet food this is the place to go. Everyone is always so helpful, and knowledgeable too!! They really know their stuff! And they're not just looking to make a sale.. they really will take the time to help you find what you're looking for and what will be best for your pets health, and even your wallet if that is your concern! Employees who work there aren't zombies who walk around and stock shelves either!!...unlike many other stores!! There's nothing more disappointing than trying to get help or advice from customer service and they don't know the first thing about what you're asking! Searching for the right pet food is very important and Green Pawz is different - and will really take the time to help you (and your pets)!! :) I will continue to get my Tiki Cat cans from Green Pawz :) read more

This is my go to pet store. People were disappointed when the store got bought out but I appreciate all the hard work that the staff has put in here to continue to make the store successful. I wasn't aware there were new owners at Green Pawz and they are sort of crooks. I bought some paw socks for my dogs on a strong recommendation from the staff who said she was a dog trainer..."These are the best!" She said I could return them if they didn't work. They were $56.00 a set whcih I didn't realize until I checked out since the price was not marked. I bought two sets for my two dogs anyways since I was supporting a local business. The socks didn't stay on at all. The Velcro strap also fell off one of the socks due to poor stitching. I sent my daughter to return the socks with the receipt. The box of one of the sets got a little crushed. The store staff told my daughter she would return that crushed-box set at half price because she couldn't sell it for full price due to damage on the box. I think that seems too strict. But I know it's a small business so I was fine with that. I was still getting most of my money back for way over-priced dog socks. I'm totally pissed now because I just checked my credit card statement. The store only refunded me for one set of socks. I don't even have the other set. So I basically gave the store $56 + tax for nothing...not even store credit get dog food. Unfortunate since the location is so convenient, and I like supporting small businesses. We have been going to Green Pawz for years and the previous staff/managers were awesome. The new staff, now that it was bought by Bentley, are rude and not very knowledgeable. We went in and asked some questions about the new fda warning about grain free dog foods. Our dog is one of the at risk breeds for dcm and it was important that we switch his food. The manager (?) rolled her eyes at my husband and me. She didn't seem to know much about the dog foods in stock and obviously did not want to help us. Since when are customers a burden? I used to love going to Green Pawz before it changed to Bentley and now I'll never go back. Wags to Whiskers is a great alternative. read more

I found this new store recently on a visit to Plum Market and stopped in to check out the selection. The store offered a large variety of specialty foods and treats for cats and dogs and plenty of pet toys, accessories, pet care products, and much more. The owners were very friendly and inviting. I like their idea of attempting to offer only the best products for their customer's pets and also stocking as many items as possible made locally or in the USA. I will definitely be a regular here to buy food for my cats and will spread the word about this great locally owned store to other friends. read more

Anyone reading the reviews on this site please note that the majority of positive reviews listed are for Green Pawz - not - the new ownership under Bentley's. I shopped at Green Pawz since the store opened and I was delighted each and every time I visited. The employees were knowledgeable, friendly, and each had a sincere belief in holistic pet care. The store was clean, well-organized and had an ambiance fitting a natural pet food and products store. I wanted to give the new ownership a fair chance so I continued to shop there for months.. Transitions can be difficult in a business with new management and personnel changes. I figured if they sold the same products then all would be well. After months of unsatisfactory experiences, I have finally decided to take my business elsewhere, specifically to Wags and Wiskers 2425 Stadium Blvd which is conveniently located close by. The Bentley's company which bought Green Pawz has opened 90 stores in two years which is phenomenal but seems to maintain little oversite to how each franchise is handled. This one does not seem to be a good fit for the community, at least for former customers. My experiences have included disinterested employees who had minimal knowledge of natural pet care and a changing store environment that is edging more toward the corporate feel of a Petco. So to others who may have had a less than desirable experience at this business under the new ownership and to those who may be researching this business for the first time ... look elsewhere. Try supporting a local business that can provide not only the products you desire to purchase but also care enough to hire employees who are kind and knowledgeable and also a management that is sensitive to creating a natural environment that echoes the philosophy of holistic pet care. read more

I went to Green Pawz tonight, as I was excited to find out this store is a carrier of a Canadian-based petfood called Orijen. My bf and I were greeted by the owner's two Pomeranians [Louie V. and Prada], and a once abandoned kitten [whose name is Pawz, and he calls the store his home]. The female/male co-owners Lisa and john, are both very pleasant to talk to. They genuinely cared about what kinds of pets we had. This store is reasonably priced for higher quality brands. They also carried a fair amount of eco-friendly toys/beds/litter. I plan on going to Green Pawz for my pets' needs. I am happy to support small MI businesses like this. :] read more

I like the fact that they carry Innova EVO Red Meat Small Bites. I used to go to Pet Supplies Plus for food but the only flavor they carry in the small size is chicken and my dog is strangely picky about his food. Anyway, the owners are very friendly and whenever we come into the store with our dog they pet him and give him treats, which is nice. They do carry a really nice, high end range of quality food, even outside of the Innova EVO, which is great seeing as most pet stores carry a large amount of cheap, terrible food. read more

Green Pawz gets an A from me not only because of the friendly staff (Pawz the cat included) but because I can be sure that when I shop there, I am getting products that are safe for my dog. We get our dog food here for our 2 dogs even though it's about a 20 minute drive from our house. I like how they only carry the very best brands of food. We feed our one dog Orijen and the other Acana. I like supporting a small local store and the employees are very knowledgable if I ever have a question. read more

Green Pawz is a typical locally owned pet supply store. It is great for those looking for organic or specialty pet food. It isn't huge and selection varies but overall it is a fun little adventure. As a dog behaviorist by trade I know a lot about dog food and what it should and shouldn't have. I will say there are A LOT of myths out there that are just not true. But I'll save that rant for another time and place. I did meet the owners. They are very friendly. I liked the dog and cat treats but otherwise it wasn't overly memorable. read more

I have shopped at Green Pawz for years and adored the staff and the products that they sold. Since this store has become Bentley's under new ownership they are literally phasing out every product that I purchased for my dog, including her dog food. As dog owners know, it is not easy to switch a dog to a new food, especially if they have a sensitive stomach. As well as completely changing over their products, the staff is not helpful and borderline rude. They do not seem sensitive to the fact that it's frustrating for owners to have to find a new food for their dogs, when they have been buying certain products for years. When purchasing an existing business, it seems that the new owners should be more interested in what their customer base was buying and happy with, instead of completely changing things up. Unfortunately, I think I need to find a new pet supply store. We miss you, Green Pawz! read more

I also like to 'do my part' when it comes to using environmentally products, and I have found some useful items here. The owners were both very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. I love supporting local businesses first and foremost. The staff is always friendly and helpful. When I needed to incorporate raw food into my cat's diet, they had a sampler pack available, so I didn't have to spend a lot to see if my cat would eat the new food. Then, I learned they guarantee the food if the animal doesn't like it. Then they ran out of the very kind of cat food my cat loves, so they kept a case behind for me so that when I came in next time, they would for sure have it. They offer a case discount of 6%, too. Every little bit help. Bottom line is that I like everything about the store - the knowledgeable staff, excellent holistic products, the pleasant atmosphere and of course, Paws, the beautiful Maine Coon, store cat. These things are amazing for keeping mud, slush and salt off dog paws and my dog actually holds her paws up to have me put them on.
