My girlfriend and I work in Ann Arbor but live in Dearborn, and we decided to make the trip out on a weekend just to catch the sale, because not only was everything 15% off (cat products) , but the first fifty customers received goody bags. As expected, the goody bags came packed full of cat stuff that I know my cats are going to love. We are now at the point that my cats actually recognize the Pet Emporium bags and will try to sneak towards the bag and try to pull out various treats and toys. Secret Shopper Here!…read more I do this for a living, usually have to report back to a certain upper, but at this extent I feel the need to put it on Google and yelp reviews so that the community would be aware I had a very disappointing experience at this pet store, and I won't be returning. The biggest concern was the overall health of the animals. Several pets did not appear to be in the condition I would expect from a store that is supposed to prioritize animal welfare. It's heartbreaking to see living animals treated as inventory instead of being properly cared for. The staff was another major issue. They were unfriendly, dismissive, and seemed to have very little knowledge about the animals they were selling. I was given incorrect information about proper reptile lighting, which could seriously affect an animal's health if a new owner followed that advice. A pet store should be a reliable source of accurate husbandry information, not misinformation. Customer service was just as disappointing. It was difficult to get anyone's attention, and when I finally did, I felt like I was inconveniencing the employees. The manager was rude, unprofessional, and showed little interest in addressing concerns or helping resolve problems. The store also had very little inventory compared to what was advertised, making the trip a waste of time. To make matters worse, they refused to honor valid, unexpired coupons and provided inconsistent explanations as to why they wouldn't accept them. I also noticed products, including food and medications, that appeared to be expired or approaching expiration. That's unacceptable for products intended to keep pets healthy. Overall, this store needs significant improvement in employee training, customer service, inventory management, and its commitment to both animal welfare and the customers who trust them. Until those issues are addressed, I cannot recommend shopping here.

The store has a great selection of cleaning supplies, food, treats, leashes, and accessories for dogs, cats, and other animals. They do grooming as while so it's worth asking some questions. I was able to pick up some treats and a few cans of wet cat food since I buy both wet and dry food. The staff asked about allergies and any anything that could be harmful. My cat will eat anything though, but great spot overall.

The employees here are so knowledgeable and friendly & they were ultimately the ones who worked with me because they cared about our furry children so much to figure out the best food combinations for my dog. All the recommendations they give me I always trust and normally found myself adapting into our every day regimens as well. This place is wonderful, often does sales on all kind of products they carry so check in often, and truly take customer service & passion for our four-legged friends to a whole other level! The tubs are always nice and clean, the soap and conditioner make her smell nice and the nozzles get right down to her undercoat without me needing to take extra time just to get her wet. The warm water is always a plus! I usually do all of my own grooming but have been slacking off with the winter weather, so I scheduled her to be groomed by Mariah. I'm very particular about how she's trimmed as I've had groomers take entirely too much coat off before despite me clearly explaining what I wanted, but Mariah listened closely and sent her home looking exactly how I asked. My only complaint is that the dryers at the self-wash station are not very powerful, so they take longer to dry a dog with lots of fur than a high-velocity dryer. I do understand that nothing can be done about that and just recommend that people whose dogs require more time bring something like a happy hoodie to help make the process more comfortable. :)

I took my 72 pound golden doodle here for a bath the day before Thanksgiving. They have a self…read moreserve dog wash. I like that the room that you wash and dry your dog in is an individual private room. That is different than other places where I have bathed my dog. But what I did not like was that the hose to the dryer kept coming off - meaning I had to use both hands to hold the dryer together and was unable to brush my dogs while drying him. I did talk to the employee and she put it back together once, but it kept coming apart. So she then switched out the dryers for me. Also there is no where to hook your dog to when he is not in the tub. Some places have a raised bench where you dry your dog. This place does not. There is a hook with the noose that goes around their neck to hold them in the tub, but if you want to dry your dog outside of the bathtub, there's nowhere to tie them up to. I have a dog that does not like the blow dryer and he was bouncing off the walls, it was not a very good experience for us. However, it was very clean and the private room for bathing/drying was very nice. If I had a small dog or a dog that stands still for the blow dryer, I would go back here.

Sales on the brand NEVER happen (not even for a first-time order on the manufacturer's website). Not only did they have more than one size available to purchase, but their sales were second to NONE. I was able to get my dogs their food and save a good chunk of money while doing so. Their store was clean and well stocked. The woman who gave me my order (I placed it online for in-store pick up) was very kind and gave me coupons for upcoming sales that would be starting in early May. Staff even wrote a "thank you" note on my receipt (not expected, but a very nice touch). Will definitely be back. Highly recommend!!

If you are a backyard fowl farmer, you can get all the feed, cedar shavings, and mealworms you could ever need. Dogs, cats, and horses have plenty to find here. In summer I get my grass seed, for which there is a huge selection. In winter, road salts good to different temperatures be found here. This is a fun place to visit, and includes farm toys, farm fresh eggs, and clothing that lasts forever!
