I had waited four weeks for my dogs grooming appointment and the salon had to cancel due to one of the groomers getting Covid. I found a new Groomer, Jamie. It had been 10 months since Taffy's last groom at a different groomer. Taffy, hated that other groomer. He got behind me and wrapped his legs around my leg and screamed in pain when he saw her. We left right away. At Peppermint Parlor, Taffy, went calmly with Jamie to the grooming room. He is a 2 year old Mini Sheepadoodle F1B about 16 pounds. I like to see the Sheep dog in him, only 25%. I only see the Old English Sheepdog when his fur is grown out. So at 10 months he was matted. Jamie at Peppermint Parlor was wonderful. She took him in and worked on him, doing a great job grooming him. No nicks, she had saved the hair on the ears, but could not save the tail, it was to matted. Jamie, trimmed his nails, cleaned out his ears, gave him a good bath. So now he looks like his Mother. He is 75% poodle. He smelled so nice like cinnamon and spice and he has this cute Christmas Tie on. All the dogs in the Parlor looked happy. They had 4 doodles and 3 Shih Tzu while we were dropping off and picking up. The other doodles came out great looking. Such cute faces and fluffy bodes. I am sure they were not matted when they came in. Mine was matted so he had to be shaved. I knew that before hand. It was busy. The staff was having a good time talked to each other. I got the impression they like working there together, which is something you want in your dogs groomer. Happy Groomer, Happy dog. 5 star rating from me. No need to ever go anywhere else. If you have a doodle this is the place for you. I know how hard it is to find a groomer for a doodle. They are just happy, clumsy, goofy dogs. read more

After 10 years, EXTREMELY DISSAPOINTED in their conduct! On Friday, 12/17/21, we took our 12 year old Golden Retriever in for a grooming, just as we have in the past. A few hours later, we received all call that our dog was all done and ready to be picked up. No further details were given. About 30 minutes later I arrive to pick up our pet. I give my dog's name to one of the two counter persons attending the register and I am given a total for the service and asked if I would like to tip. Nothing mentioned, nothing out of the ordinary. I agree to a $10 tip and I pay the bill while one of the attendants goes in the back to retrieve our dog. Again, nothing out of the ordinary. A moment later, I see our dog in the gated area but he is not behaving as he normally does. He is normally excited and happy to see us, a typical Golden. For the first time, quite the opposite. He is walking very slow as if he is badly injured. I ask the attendants if that had any idea what has happened to him, which they deny knowing anything but offer to go and get the groomer who worked on him. A moment later, the groomer appears and starts telling me about how HE NOTICED THAT OUR DOG WAS LIKE THIS WHILE HE WAS BEING GROOMED but isn't really sure what happened. He followed up with a guess that maybe he had a seizure. I decide that getting my dog out of there is the higher priority at that moment than yelling at these people so I just take his leash and lead him out to the car. Again, walking very slowly. I have to lift him into the back of my SUV where in the past he has been willing to help us by putting his front paws in the threshold of the cargo area. By the way, never in his life have we ever observed our dog having any sort of seizure. Ever. I get him home, lift him out of the back of the vehicle and set him down on his feet while I close the gate. He instantly COLLAPSES to the pavement. I immediately get him up on his feet and walk him inside the house. He has no interest in water, treats..nothing. These are all firsts for what is normally a very jolly dog who lives for treats. At this point, I determine he's going to need medical attention so I call our vet and get the OK to bring him in for an urgent exam. Twenty minutes later we arrive and their staff assists me on getting him into an exam room. Blood, Xrays all come back negative so nothing to really back the seizure notion but his right hind leg keeps giving out on him. I'm given pain pills and instructions to follow up if his condition worsens and sent home with an additional $380 bill on top of the grooming bill. He moped around for most of the weekend but finally returned to his old self on the following Sunday. I am posting this review not because my wife and I are furious that we went from getting our dog ready for Christmas photos to thinking that he was about to die, but rather so it may be a warning to others. We will never know what happened to him while he was in Peppermint Pet but the nagging questions that I can't shake: * If the groomer himself noticed that our dog was having issues, why did he continue to work on him? * Why didn't he tell the attendants what he was seeing so that they could maybe CALL US to let us know something was wrong?? * Why was it revealed that there was an issue ONLY AFTER I PAID AND TIPPED THEM??? I only found out something was wrong when I saw him and yet the groomer KNEW ALL ALONG!?!? I suggest that everyone use caution when leaving their pets with this establishment. They'll be happy to take your money and ask for tips but they are clearly irresponsible when it comes to communicating emergency issues with your pets. read more

After 10+ years of supporting this Pet grooming parlor my pet got turned away. Today after making an appointment 3 weeks ago I was told the crack down on rules and regulations changed. It wasn't that the rules and regulations changed that was not the issue. I asked why wasn't I told this information 3 weeks ago when appointment was made? I was told I was slipped through the cracks by the receptionist. When I asked the owner why I was not told by her employees after years of supporting her business why i was not told this information her reply was..... " I only known today"" Not an apologize for my inconvenience or rules changed I make sure never happens in future. Really? You only known today? Rules and regulations procedures changed for your business and your employees that effected the community who supports your business. You only knew today? Sorry to say I will never support this business again in Canton Community. I will never feel my pet fell through the cracks and turned away ever again . I agree with rules and regulations but how can you follow them when your not told of change of policy until the very last minute and the owner takes no responsibility. read more

NEVER TAKE YOUR DOG HERE! If I could give no stars I would. My dog has been in here twice and both times they did exactly as I asked them not to. My dog is a beautiful curly labradoodle and I have specifically asked them not to shave him bare. Both times I've picked him up and they have shaved him down to his skin. They are lazy, never trimming up and cleaning his ears right even though we pay extra. The groomers should be ashamed of themselves. read more

They took the time necessary to give him a good experience so he will not be fearful of grooming. I stopped in five weeks ago to check on making an appointment for my border collie to get a bath and her nails trimmed. They told me they could take her right away so I left her there for three hours. The grooming was adequate but ever since I picked her up from them, she's been extremely afraid of noises and going outside. I don't know what happened to her while she was in their care, but my once friendly outgoing dog is now afraid of everything. We won't ever go back. read more

I brought my St. Bernard 'Bill' To The Peppermint Pet Parlor in Canton Today. I am always anxious when I know Bill will be around other dogs. His normal routine is Bark Bark Bark followed by dragging me towards the other dog he wants to meet. What happened today was extraordinary. Jaime was my groomer. As you can see from the photograph it was a first class dog grooming including having his nails dremeled ( a four person job at the vet's office because he often rebels and his size 150lbs) I watched her do it. I don't think Bill flinched. It was incredible,.Also, and the best part, she gave me several tips on how to handled him when he meets other dogs. How to introduce him. When I got home I practiced what Jaime told me. It was one of the most pleasurable days we've had out on a walk thanks to Jaime's tips. From my experience even professionals are intimidated by Bill's size and excitement. Not Jaime, she new how to handle my dog and it was a great experience for the both of us. i will never go here again and I most certainly would not recommend any one else. It took almost 5 hrs to get my kitten bathed, clipped and a nail trim. I was waiting in the lobby for her and I heard her meowing. I told the receptionist that I was going to go back there. When I turned the corner, I found the groomer on her cell phone while talking to whoever, she was clipping my kitten, with one free hand. The very thought of how dangerous that is. I told her she was done. After all that time, my kitten hadn't even been bathed. The receptionist seen the groomer on the phone and looked nervous. I have waited to post this. I asked my hair stylist if she would ever clip a client while on her cell phone, noway. When I told her about this incident, she couldn't believe it. There should be an accountable reality for this particular groomer. People should be able to take their pets to be groomed and the animals should be kept safe at all times. If this groomer will do this to my kitten, what will she do to any other animal that comes her way. I would not recommend this place for any reason. read more

We just recently moved here from Maryland. So far we have been extremely happy with their work. We have a large Goldendoodle and they always do an excellent job. I also love that they can usually get us in within a few days. Some places have waiting lists for months, which is way to hard for my schedule. receptionist was very rude . i took my 13 & 12 week old puppies in for they're first grooming. after 5.5 hours my puppies were not finished. i asked how much longer . was told at least another hour. i was worried at that s point so i asked for a status on what they've done and was completely ignored. i paid for the services and demanded my dogs be returned to me. one puppy never got a hair cut. he sat in a cage for over 5 hours for a bath. needless to say i will never go back. read more
