We visited here last Saturday to get our dogs nails trimmed! They were very busy but friendly and helpful and trimmed the nails within 10 min or so. Super cruel and cold. Should not be working with animals, or people at that! The time before that he got an ear infection because they did not get his ears cleaned AFTER the bath. (Dog ear cleaner has a drying agent for that specific reason!) I felt like an idiot for going back again after that. Of the 7-10 visits to this location, 2 went horribly. They offered a free grooming session, because I actually called back to voice my complaint.....Why do you think I can trust you guys enough to not only give you my business, but to leave a helpless member of my family with you for 3-5 hours? While shopping on the night of 03/02/2024 I witnessed an altercation between a customer and a woman named Robin whom I believe was a manager at this petsmart location. I witnessed this employee push religious beliefs upon a young woman as well as, scream at the woman inappropriately. I find it extremely disturbing and offensive that an employee felt the need to push her religious beliefs on a woman who had only come in to ask questions. I went to pet Smart today because my dog checo had a grooming appointment, for a LIGHT CUT, his nails clipped, bath, and a brush teeth. So me,my mother, and our dog went inside to check him in, but the Manager said we had to wait outside until she does another dog that is in front of us. So we wait outside but me and my mom see she takes a Caucasian lady that's behind us even though our appointment is at 10:00, so we just remind her and say " u told us to stand outside the door just reminding u were still out here" she responds with " oh yea I know it's just short of people in here." But 2 mins later she still checks the caucasian lady in and also takes the dog, me and my mother are African American. Then another lady comes out and says it's only taking a min because your grooming person isn't here even though the Manger said she will take my dog and also check him in. But we check him in maybe 5 minutes after and we say we want a LIGHT CUT , teeth brush, nails cut, and also a bath, she says " okay I got it, everything will be taken care of." Me and my mother come back we're waiting at least 10 minutes to get our dog after a lady says I'll go get him for u she never comes back but the manger lady does, when she brought out my dog he had no hair left it was all gone I started crying, I felt that it was on purpose and they were rude. Clean, well stocked and super friendly staff. We ran in to get our kitty a new cat tree to climb, motivated by guilt from his having to survive without his pet parents for a few days. This climber/lounger was super fun, with multiple levels of perches. Really sturdily built with soft carpet coverings and a nice cat toy to play with included. Normally over a hundred bucks, as perks members we got it for under seventy after spying it in an ad. Yes we are weirdos who adore our little beast that much. Found it quickly, one of the workers even carried it to the front for us without asking. Checkout was quick and painless. The spoiled boy has been thrilled ever since. He *talks* about it and has made it his own little condo within the house, often snoozing the whole day away happily. Gotta love a store that helps you make a cat you love that happy. read more

I have taken my dog owen here a few times now. The last time we took him there, it was really crowded (which is fine, I assume busniess was booming) and it appeared both when we dropped off our dog & picked him up that the groomers were struggling with several of the dogs. It didn't appear to be a happy atmosphere. I assumed since I asked for something simple done to my dog, bath, shave, nails, that it would be easy. I advised them that he doesn't like the nail grinder & please just cut his nails. When I picked him up, she told me she wasn't able to cut all of my 30# dog's nails. She maybe cut three, aned still charged me $65 for the visit. I am going to have to take him somewhere else where they are capable of cutting dogs nails that won't require two trips. I have been having my dogs groomed here since 2013. They have all new people there now. They are rude, unprofessional and half of them don't even want to do their jobs. I have even contacted the district manager and he was just as unprofessional and rude. I had always recommended this place to family and friends. I shop here all the time. I have never had a problem and they always seem to have what I need. I also have my two dogs groomed here by Stacey B and she is very good with them. I like the way she cuts them too. I love the way Petsmart lets you bring your dogs with you and they always offer them a treat. The have cleaning stations throughout the store for when accidents happen...and they will! I always feel good about going here. It is one of their newer stores and I was so glad they opened near me. My only complaint is they don't have a Banfield here. I have to drive to the store in Ann Arbor for vet services. I hope they get one in the future. read more

I normally have a VERY good experience here. The grooming staff is very nice and they always greet my dogs by name when they come in. But this last time will have me never coming back. I booked an appointment on 2/9/18 for 2/25/18 to get my dogs groomed before a big vacation. On 2/25/18 shortly before I was supposed to be there I get a call from my regular groomer saying that he was no longer working for the company. It's a little bit of an inconvenience since my dogs do very well with this groomer, and he always does a fantastic job on my dogs, but no big deal they probably have someone there to groom my dogs. I call up there to make sure that there was someone there to do them and the woman that answered the phone said no. So I asked her "So if I wouldn't have called, would you guys have just let me come all the way up there with my dogs only to turn me away?" She then acts surprised and says "Oh the manager hasn't called you". I said "No the only person to call me this morning was [former groomer] to inform me that he was let go this morning". She then tries to reschedule me for a time later the next day to which I declined because I needed to be on the road by then. This all happened less than an hour before my appointment time. If the former groomer hadn't called me I would have been on my way out the door almost an hour away, only to be told to go back home. Now I have to spend the first leg of my vacation getting my dogs groomed at an unfamiliar salon with unfamiliar people. And then the icing on the cake the manager calls me 10 minutes later to "Inform me that [groomer] no longer works there anymore and we'd be happy to reschedule your appointment" Unbelievable. read more

IF I COULD GIVE ZERO STARS I WOULD!!!! Went in to get fish for my kids and the lady who helped us was rude and yelled at me and my mother in front of my kids. I wanted schooling fish she said they only sold them as 3 that was fine and than I said that my 2 oldest wanted to pick a fish out each (would have made 5 total) and that was when she started to raise her voice at me because I was getting to many fish and they could only sell 5 at a time ( wasn't getting anymore than 5 anyway). I than informed her that the day before we had also came in to get fish for a different fish tank I have in my bedroom and I got 10 the day before and was never once told I could only purchase 5 fish at a time. She than proceeded to yell at me more in front of my kids (ages 1,2 and 6) she told me I was wrong and that there was no way that I got them there, made my 1 & 2 year old cry, so we ended up leaving and going someplace else. The other store we ended up going to was nice and accommodating we was in and out. I will never go back to this store and I wouldn't recommend at least this location to anyone I know. read more

I have 2 dogs that I have brought here to be groomed since I moved to Michigan and had no problems...until last week. I brought my little mini schnauzer, who is the sweetest dog, to be groomed. She was running and happy when I brought her in. When I picked her up she was acting weird; sad and would only walk a couple of steps and then sit right down. I figured she had a bit of razor burn on her bum (it has happened before even though I ask them to use a guard on her.) The next day, she is acting the same, will only walk a few steps then sits down. She won't eat or drink or go to the bathroom. I called Petsmart and told them they did something to my dog and they said (super rudely) "if the vet can prove to us that it was something we did, we will pay for the vet bill." The vet said she had a back injury probably from a fall. Do you think Petsmart would pay for that? Nope! We couldn't prove it was from the grooming! My dog has not left the couch in a week. She has to endure pain because someone dropped her or hit her while being groomed. Needless to say, I will never take my dogs back there and I hope that you will reconsider taking yours! read more

This place is pretty clean, urine and feces get cleaned up well, decently stocked but the employees don't seem to know the store really well. I've seen a lot of the groomers struggling with dogs, and they seem to overbook sometimes, which causes people to be turned away. This store is not organized really well and could use a lift when it comes to displays. I'm constantly finding dog/cat/fish food on the floor. Well my bloodhound finds it first. I'll be taking him in later today to talk about obedience classes. So we will see how that goes. read more

I bring my pooch here about once every six weeks just for a Pawdicure that she needs to keep her nails trimmed and her paws smooth. We are always treated well at this store, the grooming salon has always been friendly and the pet store is always worth a browse while I wait. While I can't attest to the groomers' technique, the nails are always done quickly and effectively, and the store itself is clean and never too busy for me anyway. For quick things like nail trims and small pet item purchases, I definitely recommend this location over the Ford Rd one. read more

Took my dog there today to get the full blown all over hair cut and trim and teeth.. etc. they took 6 1/2 hours and we called to see if our dog was done.. ans they Said "well your dog gave us a lot of trouble and you should bring her during the week and she barked alot and she didn't sit still... well my bad I guess I didn't know that dogs can't bark? And she's all over the place because you put them in cages for a long time. I stayed in the store to get some treats for my dog and the girl who took my dog came out and greeted another dog and then did it again when I left... so right away I knew my dog was in the cage.... never going here ever again as they take FOREVER and who knew when they even got to my dog...., and they just take your money... half of the ladies in there didn't seem like they wanted to work.... so upset and disappointed in how they run things there..... Took my rescue dog there for a nail clipping, but the rabies vaccine certificate wasn't accepted because it was photo copied and then written in ink. The worker tried to get a hold of the shelter she came from to verify but wasn't able, so we were turned away. We have boarded her with this certificate, and it was also accepted by our vet. Frustrating but it's a corporate store and they have policies. Found a great place at Lilley/Cherry Hill called Paws Grooming Studio. Five bucks, walk in, fantastic staff, very quick, and no problem with my certificate (just like anywhere else I've presented it). Will never come back to pet smart, I'll always go to "Paws" for grooming and buy necessities from petco. I'm dog sitting for a week and had to go to this store in order to pick up some dog food. As I do not own a dog myself, I was pretty overwhelmed with all the selections. The staff here was very helpful. A kind woman walked my dog and I through the food section, explaining the benefits of each of the different brands, costs, etc. She really took her time to make sure that I was getting exactly what I needed. There was no rushing, no attitude, nothing. Just a very outgoing, smiling, happy employee. 5 stars all around. I have used them for my Great Danes and have recommended them to others. Not only were the extra large size discontinued, but prices on the others were raised significantly. Normally a pretty decent store. Normally well cleaned, although not always. I used to come by way more in the past when I had my bearded dragons to buy crickets when I was running low on my own stock I had. Most of the staff are friendly, but I wouldn't say all of them. Most recent incident is I went to buy some cat food, and we have four cats so we go through food quickly so we always buy the big bags. There were no big bags stocked currently on the shelves, so I went to the front to ask if they have any in the back. The cashier got a manager who paged/told one of the employees that I needed help. So I waited.. and waited.. and waited. Took probably 15 minutes if not more until the manager saw me and asked if i ever got help. (I also had been standing in the exact same spot for the whole time). So she went and got the guy who finally helped me. I'm not one to normally complain, but I must admit it's pretty ridiculous to wait 15-20 minutes just to find out if they have a bag of a certain type of cat food in the back. It has to be the specific one too unless our oldest cat will get crystals in his bladder and make for an expensive vet bill. read more

I applyed, had interviews..then after 2 weeks I did not hear anything. I took it upon myself to call Pam & Brandon, the 2 people that interviewed me. I left 6 messages for each of them, and yet I NEVER got a return call. I have 8 years experience working with dogs...I did not even get a call letting me know it wasn't going to workout for me!! I have taken my dog there two times, and I won't be there again. The first time I took him he was nervous because it was a new place, and seemed ok when I brought him home but his hair was really thinned out, like they really pulled a lot out. The second time I took him in he came back the same, really thin hair and a week later ended up with a fungus in his ear and dry scaly patches on his back. When I picked him up all the dogs getting groomed were shaking and scared. The workers didn't seem happy either, they seemed overwhelmed. Just not a very happy environment. $200 later at the vet for treatment of a bacterial infection on his back and ears, we definitely won't be back. read more
