We had a terrible experience at this target. We witnessed a shipt shopper ask an employee for directions on where to find an item and she very rudely said "I'm not gonna do your shopping for you" to this man. He was super polite too, but she was so rude. We then went on to say how rude that was because he simply asked for help finding an item that she was quite literally stocking at the time. And when we pointed out that it was rude, she said "that's his second time asking me to help him find something" to which we said that that shouldn't matter. This man was NOT asking her for anything other than help finding an item in the area he had been looking for it in. Then after we had been talking to her, another employee came up and they were obviously talking about us because they got quiet and said "let's go over there". The woman who worked at Target was lying about the whole situation and this man was really polite and non confrontational. It was really disappointing to say the least and the way the other employees were acting was so unprofessional. I know nothing will be done about this situation if I talked to a manager which is also disappointing, but still thought I'd share my encounter. The employee's name is Michelle. Very rude. read more

Their CVS Pharmacy over charges for medications. Have 4 RX's I moved from Meijer to Target. All covered by Medicare RX. Have had zero copay of three of the generic version of them for more than 2 decades, using Meijer - Walgreens - Walmart in three states. On my ONLY refills at Target ( in February ) the copays jumped. Using my BCBS reports, CVS's inital cost for the meds were 4.98% - 11.25 % and 19.75 % higher than Meijer's initial cost. Really strange when I leaned that CVS owned the PBM!! Moved my meds and ALL my business back to Meijer. They are stealing from senior citizens read more

I was taken back by how clean and organized this Target is! The selection was amazing and I even found a fe items on sale, saved $15.00 and spent $378.00 so they definitely are on the winning side but that's ok GööD quality costs money. The ambiance was right on and I'm very happy with all my purchases. Highly recommend. They are not far from First Watch so you can grab breakfast or brunch and head on out and shop till you drop. I also made a stop on my way out at their Starbucks and purchased a cute key chain of a cold drink mini cup black with the logo on the front if only one side for $14.00 cute and fun! read more

Came here "just to look" said the wife lol nope! We started browsing, I went for a hand basket, filled that one and got another for the wife, needed up going back out for a shopping cart. Quick update with some deets on their pharmacy. I called over before running some errands at Target to see if they had walk-in Covid boosters for Pfizer and they told me as long as they have them in stock they do! I asked, "Do you have them in stock today?" and they DID! So I swung by the pharmacy counter between filling up my cart with Halloween candy and toiletries. 10 minutes later I had a shot in my arm and I was back to filling my cart with things I didn't need but wanted, in true Target fashion. Super easy and I'm grateful for the convenience. I'll be sure to swing by again when I'm there next for my flu shot, which they also offer as a walk up! read more

I absolutely love the Target on Waters Road. It's a straight forward, one-stop shop. Endless choices, always fresh and well-stocked, always busy. Not all Targets are created equal. The Waters Rd Target is beautifully arranged and decorated, clean and well-lit with spacious aisles. It is SUCH a cheerful place. I've been shopping at Waters Rd. Target since they opened. I've grown to know and love the people who work there. When I go there I expect to see certain faces. Sometimes I go there just to browse and look and be immersed in all that good cheer. You can tell a lot about the management by this highly positive vibe. I refer to the managers who work within the store, those who work there on a daily basis. It's a big store - but not too big. It's almost like a throwback to another time when you could refer to a store as yours. As in; a unique and wonderful place. This particular Target projects all of that. It has a personality. Ok, the get an average of my two visits. I've been in Ann Arbor a lot this month and I went to this Target twice in three days. First visit - awful! 1 star because you can't give zero. The store was messy, lots of empty spaces and clothing on the floor. I was wandering around looking for Command packages of picture hangers. At the one near my house they are logically placed near housewares and hardware. So, after checking those two locations and basically walking the whole store I asked a Target person. Me " excuse me can you tell me where I might find Command products?" Target employee, not stopping but talking as she continues walking past me, "those are in block B". What????? Is this some sort of code? So I say "excuse me, what does that mean?". At this point she's half an aisle away and points in the general direction of the other side of the store and says "walk over to grocery and you'll see it on the left." Thank God for the lovely other customer who happened to hear the exchange and lean out of the aisle she was in to help me. She explained in great detail where I should look and it is only because of her that I found it. Visit 2 - 5 stars - like it was a totally different store two days later. The whole store was tidy, and every employee was friendly and helpful. I had to return an item which was handled efficiently and pleasantly. I almost felt like I must have a sign on that said "be extra nice to this person". As I was strolling the aisles, two people asked if I needed help. And when I actually did need help the lovely young woman that I asked said "let me look on my scanner for the exact aisle" and then started to walk with me toward it. Only after I indicated that I knew where it was did she turn back to her stocking of shelves. So there you have it, it's conveniently located. But depending on when you go you might get the 1 Star or 5 Star Crew! I really hope the 5 Star is their norm! read more

I like Target and this one is one I stop in sometimes. The staff is helpful, the store is clean and the items are well stocked. This location is in a busier location and further from work but closer to home. Most of my business goes to the location closer to work as I prefer to shop in the early morning hours. Also shopping online helps me a lot also and I that is convenient. I like that they partner with Shipt also but that not available in my town yet read more

This was an average Target experience. The store is not huge, it is laid out like a smaller one I use in another state I visit and very different from my local Target and Super Targets at home. The service was slower than I usually experience but not adequately staffed, rather than personal checker issues and finally an additional check stand was opened. There were no express or self service stations. The item we needed was in stock, only two left, but our host who sent us on the errand said they usually only find one of this regular item in stock each time so I guess we did fine. Parking is easy once you figure how to get into the lot if you are coming from one of the approach highway directions. read more

Very bad customer service in the mobile department, when this was brought to store management they stated they couldn't do anything. I understand this is a third party vendor though they wear the name and represent target very poorly and something should be done instead of saying nothing we can do. I requested a call back on a issue and had to call several times with no response. In addition I was sent the wrong item and when trying to return it, worker gave me the clearance price because it was outside of the return window though she saw it was a target error. Tagged along on my friend's trip to Target today. I thought I would just wander the isles aimlessly and wait for the others to be done. Boy was I wrong. The first rule of Target is that you will always walk out of there with something you absolutely don't need. In my case, I walked out with a 3 lane slip and slide designed for racing. As I sheepishly admitted after being asked at checkout that the slide was for my personal use, the woman checking us out (who had kids of her own) said "hell yeah!" and proceeded to provide recommendations for how to get the most out of my new purchase. Apparently covering a slip and slide in baby oil will unleash its maximum slide potential. Target: Needless purchases and sagely wisdom... A winning combination. Hey, if you want to stock up on huge packages of paper towels or tissue ... this is a great place to get that kind of stuff. There are also snacks and prepared foods, fancy flavored coffees and legitimate grocery items, for those that need one-stop convenience. Target has an awesome selection of protein bars. I like the Luna bars the best. You can get them singly, or a whole box at a time. I throw one in my purse, in case I am starving, and would be tempted to eat artery-clogging fast food. Target has trendy kitchen utensils and serving ware, household storage, hardware, pet supplies, etc. They have a lot of greeting cards and cool office supplies. Why not make filing papers a little more fun for yourself? If I had to pick just one, between Meijer and Target, I'd choose Meijer, because of all the produce. (No produce at Target.) Whenever I go out on errands, Target is last on my list and I always swing by, even if I don't have things to buy. I know their layout and where things are located, so I don't bother going to other Targets... unless this Target doesn't have what I need. The service is great, folks are friendly and yes, it's clean. When the lines get long, they get other cashiers to help out, which reduces your wait time... I'm usually in and out, otherwise I'll end up spending too much money... so rule I have is to jot down what I need, go inside, pick it up, pay and leave... otherwise my credit card will be on fire. read more

Yes, it's a Target. You pretty much know what you'll be getting. However, this Target is generally cleaner (even the cafe) than most and well-staffed. Even during the holidays, I never have had to wait long in line. If you have a confused look on your face, staff will routinely ask if they can help, instead of just ignoring you and slinking away into their own red-shirted-world. They also have a small area of food items (do all Targets do this now?), which is handy if you just need a few things that you forgot on your grocery list. Certain food/beverage products (I'm lookin' at you, Izze), are much cheaper here than at other nearby stores. A word of warning, though -- if you're wanting to jump on a particular clothing mini-line or get seasonal products, you'll need to get here *fast*. This store's proximity to campus(es) might be partially to blame for that. Even though the Carpenter Rd. store is close to EMU, they usually have more clothing and housewares in stock at one time than this particular location. Things here go quickly, particular in the more popular sizes. As long as you remember that, you'll be golden! read more

Target is Target is Target. Kind of like Starbuck's or Meijer or Kroger or TJ Maxx, once you've been to one you've been to them all unless you live someplace that has one of the super ones (carry groceries) or backwards ones. This Target is accessible to 94 and offers all the stuff offered at Target. The clothing section for juniors is adorable and nicely maintained but the women's department sucks. From unstylish offerings to a general vibe of picked over-ness it's pretty bad. The only thing they have going are the awesome (AWESOME) cardigans. The patterns are brilliant and you'd pay several times the amount they charge if you were to go anywhere else. I doubt there is a Target that's more than a 3 anywhere in America considering that they a.) have deplorable political views, b.) don't sell local products, c.) treat their workers horribly and d.) simply offer mass-produced crap but this Target has a particular spot on my dirty brown list due to the people who work there. I'm sorry, like really sorry, but I swear this is the outpost for Target employees who need to be put out to pasture. Divided into two sections: cashiers and everyone else. It appears that Target employees who are unable to perform well are sent to this Target - kind of like how Australia was a penal colony. The cashiers are sloooooow, And most cannot figure out how to appropriately engage with customers. They are either far too talkative to the point of making comments on purchases OR they are like deer in headlights afraid to even say hello. I can be chatty (as evidenced by the length of my reviews) but when someone comments on my purchases beyond the normal, "These are great," or "Oh, I have to try these," or "Oh, you must be having a party," to comment on clothing choices, book selections or underwear (yes, UNDERWEAR) I start to feel a little weird. Especially when there is some judgement going on. I get it, I judge all the time, too. But you'll never know I'm judging you. Away from the cashiers, hidden throughout the store, are the true gems (*cough*) of the Waters Rd. Target staff. There is a direct correlation between distance from front and quality of employee with the worst being found in the electronics department in the back. Shoes are kind of the dividing line between bearable and unbearable and you will usually find younger staff flirting amidst the fake converse. The electronics department houses people who cause me to crave violence. Here are my three most glaring examples supporting my analogy that this is the last stop on the Target train. 1. I was trying to find a game for my husband. There was some video game he wanted and since he rarely wants a video game other than Madden I figured I'd pick it up as a little surprise. I was standing around looking for it and rather than help or at least offer help, the three guys "working" back there were all standing around playing on their phones. Two were leaning against displays with their feet up. Really? 2. Once when I was looking at some sort of linens (in the back near electronics) two guys were discussing football. Loudly. And swearing. A lot. I was a sailor in a former life. No joke. Most people know enough to tone it down in the workplace. But not here. 3. I was looking for books because I am one of those horrible people who buys books still. When I look for books I like to stand around for a while and just read the backs. I usually go to locally owned bookstores but I had to go to Target for something for a party and had the urge to read while there. There were FIVE employees standing around fighting with each other. But this wasn't normal people fighting (quick and dirty) it was dork fighting complete with trying to outdo each other, whining and getting louder and louder. I finally went all middle school teacher (I was one of those in a past life, too... my twenties) and shushed them. Yes, I did. Because it was so f'cking obnoxious and disruptive. I stood around looking at books for about 15 minutes, toward the last five they got noisy again but I just peeked around and glared. Horrible. I don't know why I ever go in here since it's bad on so many levels. read more

Don't lose your wallet here. Nobody PLANS to lose their wallet, so this is perhaps not the most helpful advice. However, even though I can't always control how straight my head is screwed on, though, I make a concerted effort to tighten the bolts when I go to this Target due to the following experience, which I will try to make brief. When I realized I'd left my wallet at Target the night before, I had a friend call the Target to ask if they had the wallet. He called, and someone spoke to him and told him that Target DID have the wallet, and it would be waiting at Guest Services. I went by much later in the day, and *three separate individuals* with varying degrees of authority absolutely insisted that they never found and did not currently have the wallet. They checked "everywhere," a process that took all of about a minute and a half, and subsequently proceeded to make me out to be quite the moron for insisting that there was pretty much no way that someone at Target would have told my friend they had my wallet if they did not. After I turned on some serious bitchitude to the 22-year-old who seemed to inhabit the highest rung on the Target ladder of those I had spoken with, she agreed to look "one more time." She went back into the locked room and emerged with my wallet 30 seconds later. Obviously, it's my own fault I lost my wallet, and all's well that ends well, hence the two stars instead of one. But if I hadn't persisted, I would have had to cancel all my credit cards just because some people could not operate under the assumption that I was probably right about them having my wallet, causing them not to look for it diligently. read more

They are always out of items. They sell out of clothes quickly. They are in a huge market for young adults and it seems they always get one size for each group of clothing. It's very frustrating. I agree with Mariah--yes, this is "just a Target", but it's probably one of the nicest ones I have visited. It's consistently clean and consistently well stocked. I've had good encounters with staff members every time I've gone and nothing ever looks totally picked over or messy. I took advantage of their little dining area once and had a substantial, decent tasting turkey and provolone sandwich on nice bread for $3. They also carry humus and pita chips! Registered for my wedding today and it was such a pleasant experience. I've never been in a place life-wise where I have actively looked for cloth napkins, but they have some absolutely *adorable* prints right now. Blankets, too. And just generally a lot of really cute, relatively well made, reasonably priced items. Oh, I just love Target. read more

Systematic racism: Around the summer/fall time, applied to work at this location and I was denied an interview a couple days after submitting the application. At first, I figured "it's ok, not every job will say yes." Until I found out that one of my white coworkers applied and was hired for the same position. My (former) coworker and I are the same age and have both been in customer service for about 4 years. So I applied again and changed my ethnicity from "Hispanic/Latino -Spanish speaker" to "non Hispanic/Latino- non Spanish speaker," to see if that would make the difference and it wasn't even 45 minutes later when I received a direct call from 'Kathy' asking me to come in for an interview with Christina. The interview went well, but I received an email that night at around 3am saying I was denied the job once again. I can't help but think that they realized I wasn't white like I had put in my application and turned me down again. So I filed a report with their integrity hotline, which I then realized was stupid to do because no matter what you report to them, it's up to that store to determine if they even want to address the incident. Even if I'd given them the benefit of the doubt, how could a corporation as large as Target not notice 2 applications with identical basic information (name, address, experience, etc.) submitted within the same week? I haven't shopped at that location since then and neither have the people I told this story to. Fuck Target. read more

A perfectly respectable Target, with reasonably helpful (if occasionally confused) staff. Beats the pants off the almost comically inept, and now-defunct, K-mart on Stadium. I stop by a few times a year for large jugs of shampoo, 10-packs of soap, and other things where I care more about quantity than particular quality. Usually end up with some Wheat-Thins. I haven't bought much furniture at Target in years, or any clothes in several decades, but they've got a good selection of each. Sheets and towels are both perfectly respectable. Overall, this Target is significantly less impressive than comparable Targets, yet has the minimum product line. Frankly, I would recommend trying Bed Bath & Beyond first. read more

Look, it's Target. It's just Target. If you want to save a little dough on shampoo, plastic bags, or you want something of that sort that your favorite supermarket doesn't carry then Target is the place to go. Unless it's late at night or very early in the morning, then Meijer's is the place to go. I find it infuriatingly stupid that the shampoo aisle and the soap aisle and other related stuff aisles are not adjacent. They know that people will want to go from one to another so they purposefully put unrelated aisles in between to make you look at more stuff because all the market studies have shown that the more stuff people look at the more they buy. But I guess this is what one expects when one goes to a consumerism Mecca. The new "we sell food" thing annoys me too. I don't go there for food. I go there for the stuff that I can't already get at the supermarket. By adding all that food they reduced the space for the things that I go there to get and hence reduced my desire to go there. Not to mention the extremely pathetic "we do that too" business maneuver. I docked them a star for this. I can generally get in and out with the things I need pretty quickly. They moved the electronics section way in the back of the store so I never bother to look through it anymore. The checkout process is usually quite fast and the clerks are generally friendly (and generally high school kids from the looks of it). read more

Target. One of my favorites stores, and also one of my favorite pastimes (killing an hour inside its bright, cheery aisles, loosing track of not only time but the amount of $ in my checking account). Sadly, this Target doesn't quite live up to its full potential. My reasons are twofold. One: the main thing I love about Target is their selection of cute, trendy, inexpensive clothes. Probably half of my closest came from one Target or another. This particular store, though, honestly has the TINIEST women's clothing section ever. Even the Target in my hometown in SE Wisconsin has more stuff than this one. Minus one for you, Target, minus one. Two: though their sales people here are generally nice (the checkout people especially), I had a bad experience with an 18-year old kid who I mistakenly asked about a bicycle a few weeks ago. I was seriously thinking about buying this Schwinn hybrid bike I'd seen online and was pumped to see they had it there in the store. Problem was, it was what I assume was just the 'floor model' aka all scratched and worse for the wear, with flat tires to boot. So I flagged down this kid and asked him nicely if he could check to see if they had any of these bikes left in the back. He said, 'Naw. These are all we've got." I then asked if he could please just check, and he again was not really that into helping me. I mean, I'm willing to spend $250 on this (probably crappy) bike and you aren't even going to ask your manager if you're getting more in soon or something? Just another "Naw" and then he walked away. AWESOME service. Minus another star. (Thank God I got my head on straight and went to Two Wheel Tango. So happy with my real bike!) As Mariah C. says, this store is clean and well-kept. Agree also on the get it fast tip; any special designer lines are gone in a flash, so know when your goodies arrive in stores and be there when they open! Everyone in the world (and at all levels of society) shops at Target so I can't believe there are no reviews yet. But then, I can't think of anything to say about this store. It must be the most analyzed business you can imagine, compared to WalMart, KMart, Costco, Macy's -- any true business writer can write 1000 comparing and contrasting words in 10 seconds. This is the closest Target to my house, so I go here frequently for most of the non-grocery things I need. Their toiletries and cleaning supplies are just a little cheaper than the Meijer across the street, and they have cheap clothes with a big clearance section. What I like most about this Target, though, is that it looks great. It is arranged well, it is clean and well-lit, and they do a great job of decorating. Whenever I go to another Target store I realize how spoiled the Oak Valley branch has made me. I've even been to the headquarters store in Minneapolis and this one looks better. I enjoy their proximity to my house. Their in-stock items are kept orderly and the store is clean. I use their pharmacy because, they have a rewards card. I also have the Target Red card so save 6% on my purchases (basically I don't pay tax). The cashiers can be a little slow and make weird comments. They also have done some extremely annoying things. Once my toddler was complaining because he wanted to hold a bottle of lotion that I was purchasing. I explained to him right in front of the cashier that he couldn't have it because, obviously he would open it and make a big mess. As soon as she finished scanning the item, she turned to my 2 yr. old and handed him the lotion. Which I then had to quickly retrieve which just made him more upset. So obnoxious! The pharmacy staff can also be kind of rude. Never a "have a good day". Also, if you ask them the location of an item, they will just give nonspecific answers such as "either aisle 6 or 7". They should know where their stock is located, to the point where they can actually walk me directly to the item. They do have a pretty relaxed return policy which is helpful if you have lost a receipt. They also have a huge parking lot, so parking isn't a problem. I wish their food options were either more extensive or they just simply didn't bother offering food. It seems to be an add-on but without much thought. read more

I'm one of those people who likes to walk around places when I'm bored. This target is one of those places. I find they're really busy around back to school time, assuming it's because of their close proximity to U of M and EMU (one staff member told me they do twice the business of the Target on Carpenter in September, so keep that in mind if you go there). As for the employees, I've never had a issue with getting help. Staff, like all other businesses, have to balance getting their tasks done with assisting customers. I'm always greeted by friendly staff, asked if I need assistance, and pretty much left alone unless I request additional help. There's a Starbucks on site, which used to be a novelty, and now seems to be the norm. However, the staff who work there are actually trained to make the beverages and trained properly, unlike some other Starbucks within stores that are nearby and shall remain nameless. People seem to forget that Target is a national chain, so in addition to working for a specific store, they're also working for a corporation and don't always get a choice in regards to trends, items for sale, etc. The corporate headquarters are the ones who decide what's sold, not the individuals in this store. read more

After placing the order, I got an email when it was ready and I had five days to pick it up.
