Beautiful store with stunning high quality (high price) well designed furniture! My dad really enjoyed furnishing our childhood home with mid century modern furniture and passed down some nice pieces to me which I love. Walking in here feels a little like shopping with my dad. My husband and I recently purchased our first house and wanted to get a nice dining table that will last. We were okay splashing out a little more for something we really loved. Their signature cherry extension table here is gorgeous and versatile. It's made to order so takes some time to receive, but just got it delivered recently and we love it! Three Chairs - Furniture Stores Near Me - Ann Arbor, Michigan

I purchased 3 separate Lee Industry items from 3 chairs to help support a local business. When the items arrived, the bed was delivered without the hardware so it was unable to be installed (to note delivery and installation was an extra fee from 3 Chairs). After waiting almost a week for the hardware to arrive (which was supposedly "expedited"), my husband had to go to the hardware store himself and find parts that would work and install it. I asked for some sort of refund since I paid for delivery and installation and was told that this was not possible. The Lee sofa slip cover arrived with what appeared to be a stain on it. I notified them immediately and was told to "take it to the cleaners and I would get the cleaning fee reimbursed". After, wasting time doing all this, I found out that this was a textile imperfection and could not be fixed. I again reached out to the store, and was told to "bring it in and that they would send it back and I eventually would receive a replacement", instead of trying to fix the problem and just sending me a new one immediately once notified of this issue. Then, to place the cherry on the top, the custom Lee accent chair that I also purchased came with the wrong fill, which I paid extra for. At least, Lee was able to send me the correct one (after almost a month after receiving all the furniture). After many discussions, I asked for some sort of reimbursement for the defective slip cover for the couch, installation and hardware I had to purchase and completed myself, as well as the time wasted going back and forth to the cleaners to find out it was a textile error and the only way this was to be replaced was if I took it to the store and waited weeks for a new one. NOTHING was offered from 3 Chairs or Lee (as per 3 Chairs since I cannot speak to Lee directly), leaving a very nasty taste in my mouth, especially after spending more than $12,000 on furniture at Three Chairs, which I though was a high end, reputable store. I will never buy anything from there again. read more

As I wanted to support a local business during the pandemic, I chose Three Chairs Co. to place my order for a Herman Miller chair. They gave me an estimate of a month for it to arrive, no worries. A month has passed since and I called to get a status update only to find out the stock order already arrived earlier and nobody reached out to let me know. Now, I'm being told to wait an additional three weeks (on top of the 4 that has already passed) for the next batch to arrive and this is completely unacceptable. Will update review as they figure out how to resolve this issue. read more

We got two delightful pieces here --- a large glass cabinet (the "Anna vitrine") we use as a pantry, and a tripod floor lamp. Their selection has a lot of mid-century Herman Miller aesthetic, and some attempts at rustic southern France, plus some odds and ends. The shopping experience, however, leaves a great deal to be desired. Customer service is definitely affected by what you're wearing --- a courier bag and bike helmet gets you a basic nod, a young couple in jeans gets you only a perfunctory "Anything I can help you find?", and a sport jacket gets you much more attention. When we (in jeans) said we'd like to take the vitrine, you could almost see the mental reset, and the conversation changed drastically. Not a great experience. Not enough to wave me off the cabinet --- but definitely makes browsing here much less fun. Delivery is contracted out to Metro Delivery, which worked fine for me. read more

What a beautiful store this is! And you couldn't ask for more helpful and accommodating staff! They are helping me furnish my new Ann Arbor apartment (I've bought an Eames chair, a beautiful rug, two lamps and a table) and I couldn't be happier with their selection, their service and their professionalism. Chairs don't hold up well and "life time warranties" expire when the manufacturer decides it's been too long and asserts the furniture wore out because somebody "leaned back in the chair." On the bright side I lost a key to a cabinet I purchased from them and they were able to replace the key after more than ten years. The cabinet is very nice. read more

If you like being lied to, bait and switched, missed delivery dates, and shoddy merchandise then this is the place for you! Buyer beware. There are some nice people in the store but the owners could care less about their customers. I give this place less than a 1 yr to survive. The customer always rules. read more

My wife and I were extremely disappointed in this store. The service was condescending, inexperienced, and unknowledgeable. It is also ridiculously overpriced. After a little research, we were able to find all of THE EXACT SAME furniture at lower prices (by between 25%-40%). Don't get me wrong, their furniture is beautiful, but it is a great place to look and a horrible place from which to buy. read more

I'm really not a fan of when stores close before the stated time - especially when you make a special trip in. I arrived before closing time to find the door locked - when staff or owner came out at 5 o'clock on the dot they said "well we are closed now" and kept walking instead of asking what I was looking for or if I wanted to take a quick look around. I generally don't like leaving reviews good or bad , but this place was so insulting I have to say something. By the way I was treated it appears to me that customer service is not something that the owner is interested in. I needed a replacement part for a sofa I own. There are only two places in MI that carry the line and Susan's company was one of them. She asked was my sofa originally purchased from her company and I told her no. I then asked if I could order and come pick up or have the part sent to me. She then told me I need to go back to where I got the sofa from and let them do it, because she DOESN'T WANT TO TAKE THE TIME TO LOOK FOR AND ORDER A PIECE FOR A SALE SHE DIDN'T MAKE!!! Well I was trying to make a sale and from the pictures I saw on the internet I also would have purchased something else. Thanks but no thanks 3 chairs, I couldn't believe that in this economy that's how the owner talks. I wish I didn't have to leave a star at all. Great store! Beautiful furniture and friendly service. I've bought a few pieces from here - desk chair, rug, sofa and they are nice supplemental pieces to sprinkle in with some lower end furniture. There are even some good deals available with floor models and their sale room across the street. Everything I've bought from here is high quality and has left me coming back! read more

I was in this store the other day and had such a great experience! I was looking for some furniture and didn't really know what direction to go in and the gentleman, Michael, who helped me out was just wonderful. He set up a design appointment for someone to come to my home-how great is that!!- and take all the measurements for me. Then, he said we would go over what pieces would work best for my space and lifestyle. I can't wait to go back to the store for another meeting with him-finally someone who knows what they are doing when it comes to style and design!!! And I LOVED the picture frames and coffee table books-I picked up some great presents that I know my friends will love! read more

I bought two items and was told that they would most likely arrive at different times. I clarified that the $65 delivery was for both items to be delivered whenever they arrived and was told that it was. One item arrived and I paid the delivery fee and clarified again about no delivery fee for the second item. I just got a call that the second item was in and was told that there would be another delivery fee. When I protested, I was told that that was their policy. Terrible communication skills......I was made to feel as if she was doing me a favor to deliver it. I wouldn't go back there. I could have ordered the same item online without the interpersonal hassle. read more

What started out as a pleasant experience, ended up being a nightmare. We ordered 5 pieces of furniture (2 couches, 2 chairs, and an ottoman), and even had a consultant come to our home to help with our decision. But when the furniture arrived, we realized the material was WAY too dark for our home. Instead of working with us, they stayed firm on their 30% "restocking" fee for returns (which applies to basically anything you order, since almost everything is considered a special order), even though we had offered and had intended to purchase replacement furniture from them. Zero customer service- I will never order from them again and would not recommend it to anyone, unless you are 100% certain of your purchase. I have never had such a ridiculously high "restocking" fee with no ability to work with customers who were more than willing to order plenty of furniture. I don't know how this company can continue to stay in business with such poor customer service. Buyer beware! read more
