I got two pieces framed - 1 print that was a Christmas present for my husband & 1 odd object (a coffee bag!) Really appreciated the great eye and recommendations. I wouldn't have picked the trim, matting in the same way if I didn't have their guidance. Also while custom framing is an investment, Phoenix has many different options (e.g. they even have a 3rd type of glass so you're not stuck with either REALLY expensive museum glass or nothing). All in all, really happy with their work!

I mostly appreciate how the team there is friendly and gracious with their time and provides as much time and options as I need to feel great about my selection. I recently picked up ceramics and learned about Rovin when I was looking for a place to buy…read moreunderglazes for my pieces. They're affiliated with Motawi Tile which I LOVE, so I was excited to check them out. The place I take classes doesn't allow outside clay but they do source the clay we use from Rovin. I've been using their "You Betcha" mix (mid-range) and really love it. It's got a bit of grog in it which means you're not going to get a super smooth surface but it helps give the clay a bit more structure. Since I'm still learning I like that this one has a bit more heft to it and holds its shape a little better for sculpting and fixing mistakes! But what I was most excited about were the glazes and underglazes! They have so many! And each one has a fired example piece which was so nice since what you see if often not what you get with these. Mostly I've seen things online but it's hard to really get a sense since photos and screens can sometimes misrepresent as well. In the end I got an Amaco underglaze watercolor set of a few colors and a few 2oz bottles of some of my go-to colors. They also sell the underglazes by the pint but since I'm still learning and will be at most a hobbiest, a little goes a long way and I found the 2oz perfect to start with. I'm also excited to come back to get some more of those as well as some glazes since they carry many stunning options. But I decided to pace myself this time! They have some tools here available as well, and for really reasonable prices. I also bought a few drape molds and a stylus tool for fine detail work. I also came in about 15 minutes before close and the staff was still super nice and helpful and didn't make me feel rushed at all. Can't wait to pop in again soon!

We went in for clay and left with a bag full of goodies and a head full of ideas. They were so helpful here and got us everything we needed. The amount of different clays is mindboggling but the staff asked us lots of great questions and found the perfect items for us. Everything you could every need for throwing pots, modeling, firing, and just good fun is here. They also fire for a fee. They sell both electric and kick wheels, all kinds of tools, and plenty of glazes.

Inconsiderate business owners…read more I mistakenly parked in this businesses parking lot (after their business hours) as a first time guest at a neighboring business. I was gone for no more than 30 minutes and they placed three full-size sheets of paper with adhesive on the back of them on my vehicle. The paper was a warning about being towed if I park there again, which I completely understand. Why on earth do they need to place adhesive on the back of the paper? THREE? One on the driver window, one on the passenger window, one on the windshield in front of the driver. These papers are intentionally rip apart so taking them off requires goo gone and while I successfully did it if this happened to an elderly person they would be screwed. Genuinely inconsiderate people. A paper on the wiper would serve the same purpose. Would not recommend shopping from people who treat others this way.

Elevated Press is absolutely amazing. Michelle and Peter are two of the nicest people you could ask…read moreto work with and extremely professional and "on top of it" to boot. I came in with a very scattershot idea of what I wanted for my wedding invitations and Michelle very patiently listened to my thoughts and expertly guided me through choosing paper and figuring out what I wanted more exactly design-wise. (Keep in mind that you can also come in with a print-ready design and they'll print it up for you! I highly, highly recommend their design work though--SO beautiful.) Throughout the design and printing process Michelle kept me updated on every development through email and responded quickly with any questions I had. At one point I thought I might have to make a last minute change, but then realized I didn't, and she very gamely accomodated my waffling, even offering to rush order a new plate for super-cheap if I needed it. The entire process from first meeting to getting the invites in my hands took about 5 weeks, so make sure you give yourself ample time if you're interested in their services. Also--it ain't cheap, but it is so, so worth it. Each invitation is truly a work of art and people have been going nuts over how amazing they look. I cannot recommend Elevated Press highly enough! Such a wonderful resource to have in Ann Arbor.
