Brown Sugar Fresh Milk Tea (Limited)
Sheena C.

Came here during lunch after having ramen next door. It was craving for milk tea. I didn't know that they had this limited time flavor when I went on Snackpass app to order. I ordered their limited time, Brown Sugar Boba Milk Tea. With 80% sweetness and it's perfect with the brown sugar drip. I would say the sweet spot is 80%, I wouldn't go lower or higher on the sugar level. The Sum seating area if you wanted to hang out here, also some sitting outside. Parking is easy to find, there's a lot of parking during a weekday doing lunch. The service is very fast. I think they were busy with online order pick ups, because the Snackpass said it was going to take 20 minutes, but it actually took like five minutes. I really like that there is a TP nearby now and they expanded, I usually go to the one in Cupertino, which is a little further away from me. So this is very convenient.

TPTea is my favorite boba place in Sunnyvale because their tea to milk ratio is just perfect and their boba is so chewy. They also give you pretty substantial amount of boba! I can order boba ahead of time on snackpass so it was super fast, waiting for me when I came to pick up the boba. There are lots of parking and seating options in sunnyvale location. I would highly recommend their boba milk tea.

Signature Black Tea ($4.95) *0% Sugar *Less Ice *Boba ($0.65) *Grass Jelly ($0.65)
Elena N.

Date: Friday, March 28th, 2025 Time: around 7:45pm Party of: 2 What: Dine In Boba Signature Black Tea ($4.95) *0% Sugar *Less Ice *Boba ($0.65) *Grass Jelly ($0.65) After dinner, a girlfriend and i decided to stop by for a boba tea. We had just finished up dinner at 10 Butchers so just walked over. It was moderately busy for a boba tea shop at the time, but we managed to find a table for two in the corner. I wanted a matcha with out milk, but apparently they don't do that here. I asked if it was because their matcha was premixed and at first they said yes, so completely understandable. But then they changed their minds and said no, it wasn't premixed, they just can't do it. Odd answer as why can't you just not add milk? It's like asking for a shot of espresso without milk and having a coffee shop tell you they can't do that. Overall just an odd thing, but I ended up a black tea instead. The tea was fine. The grass jelly was silky and the boba was soft with a nice chew. The atmosphere is typical to that of a tea shop. You can definitely have a convo while chilling here. I'm not sure when they close, but my gf and I were catching up so we spent a good 2 hours here. They were refusing orders towards the end. Probably cuz they were already closed and just letting people stay while they put things away? Not a bad tea spot if in the area. Tho I do wish I could have gotten that matcha without milk if it wasn't premixed. Oh well. REVIEW #3747

Self-order kiosks
Lori W.

The experience is just okay. Parking is easy since they share a lot with other shops in the plaza. Self-order was easy and not much of a line. There is limited seating and feels more like a pick-up/to-go place rather than a place to sit and hang out. I got the brown sugar milk tea with 30% sugar and it was still super sweet, which is kind of expected for this type of drink but a girl can hope lol the boba was decent, but nothing mind blowing. I would rather try new places than return again

Iron goddess boba milk tea

Gina yin milk tea with boba is their best drink. The guan yin tea has a special after taste that is very refreshing. The sesame fresh milk is great too, it's creamy with strong sesame taste.

Located in on el Camino Parking is easy to find There are 3 kiosks to order from. Around 3 tables inside and a couple of tables outside. Place was practically empty when I went on a Monday evening Ordered the TYN milk tea. It is customizable ice and sugar level. I ordered less ice with 30% sugar. Wish they had a stevia option. I added boba to mine. The boba is smaller than those at other places but nice soft and chewy. It was much more enjoyable Also ordered the limited time orange milk tea. The sweetness and ice level isn't customizable on this one

BOGO for anniversary event

Happy anniversary to my favorite shop for milk tea in the Bay Area! They were holding a BOGO events and tote bags for the first 100 customer this weekend, and I went with my friend to celebrate :) The wait was a little long with the event, but the workers were so thoughtful to pass out small cold cups of their tea offerings while we waited in the sun. Tie Guan Yin cream cheese foam - wow the cream cheese foam is so delicious! It's thick and super cheesy/creamy. The tea comes through as you sip the foam top so you get a taste of both at the same time while you drink. It's the perfect consistency! Strawberry Matcha Latte - I didn't know that their matcha is also solid here, but this drink was also very good! I like to drink 15% sweetness here usually, but I opted for 0% because the strawberry puree is already sweetened, and I thought it was the perfect level of sweetness for me. My friend ordered the other two drinks and was told they were also solid! Hopeful for more years to come with TP Tea, thank you for always serving the best milk tea in the area!

Popcorn chicken

In a plaza so there's plenty of parking. Ended up waiting 20 minutes for a drink and 2 snacks even when the store was almost empty. (There is a note that bubble waffles take 10 minutes). It was warm in the store so we opted to sit in their outside seating. Enjoyed the hot taro drink, would order again. I opted for 80% sweetness but it seemed pretty sweet so I would lower down to maybe 50% sweetness. I like that you can taste real taro. Popcorn chicken had delicious flavor but was not as crispy as I would like. Original bubble waffle was great and had a slight maple syrup flavor.

Coffee Tea Latte Large, 鮮奶咖啡拿鐵 (大杯) Tie guan yin milk tea

They didn't have all of the drinks that I usually find at TP tea, but if you have a craving for their TGY milk tea, it hits the spot. Even at 80% sweet, which is what I usually get, it was too sweet for me, so that was a bummer. Their coffee and tea latte was good though! Easy to order via a kiosk, drinks come fast, and parking is easy to find in their parking lot.

TGY family milk tea

I swear there's something about south bay TP Teas that do it better than east bay locations??? Am I insane? Or maybe franchise owners are taking creative liberties at each location LOL. Decently impressed with this one! Super typical kiosk setup-- order and wait on the side. Hardly any seating. Standard black and white and wood minimalist interior. TGY FAMILY MILK TEA (80% sugar, no ice): The tea is good, and so are the toppings, but something about the coffee jelly and TGY tea together makes a strange smoky flavor that is a bit jarring. Still a good drink, just interesting. I'm a huge fan of TGY tea so wish there was more of that natural tea flavor. I will say that the small coffee jelly chunks are waaaay preferred over the large blobs some other boba shops serve that are harder to drink through the straw. I definitely recommend reducing the sugar since it's already pretty sweet by default!

Pineapple Ice Tea with Tea Jelly

I've been telling myself I'd go to this TP Tea location since it opened, and I finally did recently. We got the Thai tea tornado and the pineapple tea. Both were pretty good! I always like Thai tea, and drinks with the brulee swirl on the sides, and this one was no exception. The pineapple tea was also very refreshing and would be great for a hot summer day. I'd be open to coming back and trying this place again!

Toppings and Boba Menu - October 2024

TP Tea does a very good milk tea. There was no wait when I came on a Monday afternoon. Even on a much busier Saturday night, I only waited a little over five minutes for my drink after I ordered. Taiwan Classic Milk Tea ($6.95, boba, QQ noodle, grass jelly already included) - This is a standard milk tea, maybe just a bit sweeter than average and comes pre-loaded with three topping favorites. QQ noodle is a clear, glass jelly noodle that is very chewy but easy to chew. Boba is more dense, slightly harder and chewier. Grass jelly is a light, slippery herbal jelly that is more subtle than bold and supposedly has antioxidant benefits. If you like all the toppings, then this drink is a steal because it's basically $1 more to get three toppings over the typical milk tea. The tea has a bold black tea flavor with a good balance of cream and sweetness. Tie Guan Ying Milk Tea ($5.95) - I haven't seen tie guan ying (it's a specific type of tea leaf) milk tea at many tea spots so I had to give this a try. It has a noticeable tie guan ying tea flavor mixed perfectly with cream and sugar. I liked this one too. I would recommend both of these milk teas equally, really it just depends on if you are craving tie guan ying flavor, then get that. If that difference doesn't matter so much to you and you just want any milk tea with lots of chew toppings, get the Taiwan Classic. As always, you can add various toppings a la carte to any drink. My favorite topping was the QQ noodle, as that is special to TP Tea. I get that full chew without my jaw having to work as hard as with standard boba. This location has a few seats, maybe about 10. Most people just drink their tea outside if they are with a group but inside, the seats arrangements are most accommodating if you just have two or three people.

tieguanyin fresh milk
Anna H.

TP Tea is an offshoot of Chun Shui Tang in Taiwan (the chain that stakes the claim as the inventor of bubble tea) and so naturally I had high expectations. Their menu is pretty extensive so I chose a pretty basic option -- tieguanyin fresh milk with boba. 30% sugar was more like 50% in other places, but they do offer 15%. I think this is probably one of the more satisfactory places for boba in the Bay Area, although I prefer the boba to be less soft. The tea taste was sufficiently strong even with the milk.

This is my all time favorite. I can't find any other better than TP tea so far. Long wait but it's worth it.

The interior is modern and really cute, and they even have a dog check-in photo wall which was so so cute ! We got the snowy Jasmine with boba. Drinks themselves were light, fragrant, and refreshing. Even at 100% sweetness, they actually weren't too sweet, I would even argue getting 125% to match other boba places 100% sweetness. The boba had a really good flavor and sweetness to it that balanced everything out perfectly. Overall a great spot to grab a drink. Next time I want to try their Pistachio Matcha Coconut water so I will be coming back!

Thank goodness for weekdays off! I went on a random Tuesday afternoon close to their opening time…read moreat 11am and let me tell you, hardly a soul in sight. I even got a pic of the seating without anyone in my photo. SCORE! I would highly recommend a day other than the weekend. I would give this place a 3.5 if I could. I just ordered a drink for myself and for my brother. In and out in maybe 10minutes? There's a kiosk to order and a spot to pick up your drink-- very efficient. I got the basic jasmine milk tea because I love jasmine tea and knew that if any place were to make the best jasmine milk teas, it would be this place. Molly is Chinese for jasmine anywayyyyyy (shout out to my coworker for telling me this!). I did not try my brother's tea so I cannot comment on it. I liked my jasmine tea, I can tell it was higher quality than other places I've had jasmine tea, but is it worth the hype? I don't think so. It's good, don't get me wrong, but wait-in-a-3-hour-line good? nothing is. I think I've also become desensitized to the high tea prices that $7-8 is somehow normal? When it shouldn't be! My only frame of reference nowadays is seeing how much tea cost in Asia. And in Taiwan (the birthplace of boba) I got boba for $3 ;( *sigh oh well I live in one of the most expensive places in the country but also I cannot believe I let myself think this is okay. Anyway, it's a treat, not a habit I would give into everyday.

Great flavor, good price, nice setting, friendly staff…read more I had driven by MoonTea several times and I saw the sign from the road and I have to admit, just the sign and the name intrigued me. I love the moon. I finally got to try MoonTea when I was out in the 'vale this past weekend. My lady and I walked in and checked out the menu. This was the first time I saw a milk tea menu that listed the tea strengths for each drink, that's really cool. After studying the menu for a bit, one of the guys at the counter asked me if we needed any help. Nice of him. We were wondering about the stinky tofu, since some stinky tofus are weak sauce. He said it was average. I also asked what was their most roasty tea, he wasn't sure, but he and his colleagues suggested the da hong pao. The da hong pao is one that is listed as having a strong tea flavor, which I love, so many places barely have tea flavor! So I took his suggestion, and ordered it at their recommended sweetness and ice, non-dairy. While we waited I enjoyed and grooved too the music they played. As I drove home, I tasted the tea, and it's definitely the best milk tea I have had in a while! For the price it was great value and I was amazed it lasted so long; even after the ice melted it was still delicious. This was worth the wait. Also the stinky tofu was tasty, I would get it again.

Tried a few different drinks here to see what they hype is about as I always see a lot of people…read morehere when driving by since it's near busy intersection. It's a bit of a mixed bag depending on what you get. The lychee milk tea with 50% sugar and less ice was a 6.5 because you can barely taste the lychee, it was very faint and just tasted like a regular milk tea. The da hong pao milk tea with 25% sugar and less ice was also a 6.5 since it had a really strong herbal taste that I wasn't a huge fan of. The best one was definitely the ceylon cheese milk tea at 25% sugar. It was way more creamy and rich than the others so I'd give that a 6.9.
