Almost everything is just among the best you'll eat in their category - the burgers, the wings, the shakes, the fries, the crispy halibut fish for sandwiches and fish and chips - EXCEPT the chicken sandwich. (It's dry and tough and shockingly flavorless... except for not being raw or rancid, there is just nothing to redeem it). So please - go and go often. Stopped in here at the suggestion of my girlfriend who knows that I love me some wings. Normally I hit up BWW for this, but she thought I might enjoy a change of pace. We walked into Toxic Wings and were immediately greeted by a cheerful girl behind the counter who was more than happy to help us newbies decide about what to order. She was extremely knowledgeable and patient and had suggestions ready. Even though the original plan was to go in for wings, there were so many things that I enjoy there (burgers, pulled pork, chicken sandwiches, chicken salads, etc.) that I ended up opting for the BBQ chicken sandwich. My girlfriend got a burger and we ordered a basket of pulled pork fries to go. The place is very clean and well lit. You could sit on some barstools and watch the game if you wanted and there is a lobby area with large tables and a couple televisions as well (they had Monday Night Football on when we were there). The tables appear to be brand new and the lacquer on them is great and makes for a very vibrant finish. We wait for perhaps 4-5 minutes and our to-go order was ready. When we got home to eat, we were not disappointed. As it was explained to us by the girl at the register, the chicken and burger patties were a little thin. This made the toppings (such as grilled onions) tend to overpower the BBQ chicken in my sandwich. It was still VERY good and cooked well. My girlfriend said her burger was good, but it probably could have been better. Same problem with the toppings overpowering the flavor of the burger and cheese itself. The pulled pork fries were AWESOME. The BBQ sauce was the same as on my chicken sandwich with just the right mix of tangy and smokey flavor. it is basically just fries with some pulled pork pieces and drizzled with BBQ sauce. However, everything was the right mix and they were very good. I would probably cook the fries for another 20 seconds or so to crisp them up because you are putting BBQ sauce on them and that softens them a bit, but they were still fantastic. These items filled us up and cost around $21.00. I would absolutely go back and eat here again! The food is wonderful and the place looks great on the inside. My husband and I were debating where to eat a few days ago, and I suggested Toxic because I had seen tons of good stuff on Yelp about it. Oddly enough, he had seen something as well, although not on Yelp because he's not a big Yelper. We ended up going somewhere else, but on the condition our next trip was to try out Toxic. We found it, which if you aren't looking for it, you'll totally miss it. It's a very tiny restaurant, although not far from the strip mall where Bi-Mart is, and Abby's Pizza and the bowling alley. You just have to pay attention to find it the first time. We went in and were greeted by the cashier immediately. We studied the menu long enough that she asked if we had been there before, which we said no. She said if you have any questions, feel free to ask. She didn't say it and wander off or get impatient, it was a friendly and helpful invitation. She informed us that the sauces came on the side unless otherwise specified, which was just fine with me, especially being our first time. My husband ordered 20 wings and I had a double cheeseburger, without tomatoes and extra pickles. They forgot the specifics of my burger, as it had tomatoes on it. It wasn't a huge deal. It's only when pickles are left off that I get hostile. So I lived with it, as there was no reason to send it back. We had BBQ sauce, the chili lime something, raspberry habanero, and parmesan garlic sauces. I loved the raspberry habanero, and my husband loved the chili lime one. The bbq sauce was store bought, my husband citing it was likely Bullseye brand. He works in a restaurant, and that's what they use, which tasted the same he said. I'm not a bbq sauce fanatic, so I can't tell which store brand is which, but it works. The wings are advertised as being smoked and then deep fried. It had a different taste to them, given they were smoked. But the skin was super crispy and the meat very tender. It was perfect. I tried a couple of his wings. I loved them. My husband drizzled sauce into his wings, as it was difficult to dip them into the sauces. I despise finger foods, really. I eat pizza with a fork, which should tell you something. We did agree that we are getting boneless wings the next time because it's my preference, and it'll make dipping easier. If you're a fan of bone-in wings, I would recommend that you have them tossed with whatever sauce you choose. If we do get bone-in wings next time, we will ask that they are tossed in sauce instead of on the side, but we are giving the boneless ones a try next time. The restaurant itself is incredibly tiny, but they do have outside seating, which is a larger area than the dining room. I don't know how it would be for conversation purposes, given how much traffic is on River Road. But it would be worth a try on a sunny day. Customer service is great. Another customer ordered wings, which one was dropped in the kitchen, and the cashier told this to the customer when she brought his wife's salad (which was a huge salad!) and they sent him out a couple extra wings because of it. Which I think is great. Another one (obviously a regular) walked in and said he would have his regular. So they know the regular customers well and take care of problems. Which I definitely appreciate from any business. That's what keeps me coming back, for sure. read more

I am not a resident of the greater Eugene Metroplex, however I do come down here pretty often to visit my Big Shot Nephew and his well above average family. He has been talking up Toxic Wings for months now so when I knew I was coming down we already knew where lunch was going to be. I wouldn't say I am the authority on buffalo wings but I do love them and I will go way out of my way to find good ones. Toxic does a great job of smoking the wings first, then frying them. Yes, you do lose a little of the smoky flavor in the frying process but smoking chicken gives it a rubbery skin, so this makes for a crispy wing. The sauces are plentiful, many choices from classic to exotic, from mild to mind blowing hot and I was even told there is an off the menu hotter sauce. No thanks. I went with Frank's Medium, a traditional Buffalo Wing and at the behest of the Nephew I tried the Chili Maple Lime which was darn tasty. 12 wings and an order of fries was enough to fill me up. Fries were excellent. It's a small joint, limited parking in the lot and a little off the beaten path on River Road but on this beautiful 80 degree day we opted to eat outside on the patio. The benches have umbrellas in case the sun gets intense. The napkin holders are cool, they look like old time Coke machines. The staff was exceptionally nice and service was quick. Bathrooms were clean. Handicapped access is unfortunate here, the parking lot is very rough if you are on a knee scooter, walker or wheelchair. There are two handicapped spots next to the building. The layout in the restaurant is challenging but not impossible. Unfortunately for handicapped access I have to give them a D+. If the landowner would pave the lot it would be a B. read more

Toxic is amazing, and this location is always my favorite to visit. The burgers and buns here are super high quality, and they really put care into the meals. I really appreciate the gluten free options as well, hands down the best gluten free bun I've ever had! On one of our most recents trips to this location the person taking our order was super nice and took the time to explain the gluten allergy alternatives to us. Having Celiac disease and being very sensitive to even trace amounts of gluten, even very simple cross contamination will make me immediately sick, has meant that I haven't been able to have a hamburger or French fries unless I make them myself, in years. I can't eat fries that are made in the same oil in which nuggets, cheese sticks, or anything else containing gluten is cooked. Even something as simple as that is guaranteed to make me very sick. The last time I was in Eugene was almost two years ago. At that time, I discovered Five Guys, and enjoyed their lettuce wrapped burgers and their fries, because they don't fry anything breaded. Prior to my recent trip, though, while looking up prices at Five Guys, I came across a listing for Toxic Burger. The prices are about the same, but at Toxic the meat is much higher quality (although to be fair, the patties are also smaller, which is actually a plus for me) and they offer buns. Now, gluten free buns can be crumbly and dry and tasteless, but I don't prefer a lettuce wrap so I decided that with the other factors, and the fact that Toxic too has a dedicated fryer (meaning nothing containing gluten ever touches the oil), made my decision easy. I chose the River Road location based on reviews and menu options. I am so glad that I tried it. I got the Toxic Burger with a basket of fries. I added bacon to my burger. I grew up in the land of In N Out, and the Toxic Burger seems to be based on theirs. It was delicious. The meat was seasoned perfectly and had a nice crust to it. All elements were in perfect balance. And the surprise was the bun. Easily the best gf bun I've ever had, I would love to know who their supplier is actually. It held together just like a regular one, it had a nice flavor that didn't compete with the contents, it wasn't dry and unpleasant, and it did not become soggy. My only issue was the fry sauce. It was absolutely delicious, don't get me wrong, but I had chemo a couple of years ago which completely wiped out all of my spice tolerance. When it first happened, ketchup was almost too spicy for me. Just normal ketchup. I've worked over the last couple of years to try to regain some spice tolerance because I love spicy food, but I haven't been able to make a lot of headway. So anyway, I don't know whether I received the spicy fry sauce on my cheeseburger or whether even the mild one is too spicy for me, but it was just a little bit over the edge. The burger was still delicious, I will definitely be getting one again next time I'm in Eugene, but there were a couple of bites that were just a bit spicy for me. I don't at all fault them for this, I do not have a normal spice tolerance and that is on me. Also, knowing this, I should have asked for the mild sauce to be sure, they don't specify whether the spicy or the mild version is their default and I shouldn't have assumed. While waiting for my order (which came up quickly), I had a chance to look over the menu and there are so many other items that I want to try. Pulled pork fries! Chili cheese fries! Crispy chicken sandwiches! I actually did end up going back the following day for an order of fish and chips. It was delicious. I live on the coast, and I know fish and chips. These were wonderful. Not at all greasy or overcooked, but with a nice crunchy coating and great flavor. Choosing between this or the halibut sandwich was not easy, and I actually had a tentative plan to stop in for a halibut sandwich for the road when leaving town. I left before they had opened though, so this plan fell through. I also really want to try their chicken sandwich, as well as other items as I mentioned. I plan to ask next time about their milkshakes, and if they are Celiac-safe (meaning that they never mix in things like cookie pieces, etc) then I look forward to a blackberry shake. Also, staff was welcoming and friendly, with the grace not to make fun of me for coming in two days in a row (the same employee was running the cash register both times, I was slightly embarrassed, no I do not eat fast food every day in my normal life). I recommend the larger portion of fish, as it is so delicious and can be shared. I always feel happier after food from Toxic, and very satisfied. If something isn't quite perfect, the business is very responsive to setting things right. No idea how this place was rated 4 stars! Let's start with part of the name "wings" well they didn't have any boneless wings and they weren't busy as it was 11:30. Okay then boned wings boring and lack of flavor. They were also out of about 5 other things, but the one that takes second place after being out of wings was no forks at least they had a spoon to eat chili cheese fries. Last was the paper thin burger that I have no idea how it could be raw in the middle it was so thin that you could have held it over the heat and cooked it all the way. So first have to preface this feedback. I am gluten free so have a challenge finding a good burger that has amazing flavor. Toxic is a great option for those who enjoy meat, or want to have a Hemp burger as a alternative. They specialize in chicken wings, either a bone out or bone in alternative with a dozen or more dip options from a mild sweet bbq to a bring on the fire dip selection. They also have some great burger option, salads and sides. The Keto bun is a great gluten free option and is light and fluffy. They have a few locations, for this review I am focusing only on this location. It has plenty of seating even for a large family, good parking, and is very clean and well maintained. Staff is super friendly, food is pretty fast usually to your table in less then 10 minutes from order. The burger sizes are a bit on the smaller portion size, but still very filling. This is a cute little spot to grab yummy burgers and chill :) The inside was surprisingly crowded... I felt we needed a bit more space so we ate outside. It's fall so it was pretty chilly, but dry so it worked out good. Arianna (the employee who took our order) was what made the experience great! She was delightful. Went to the Valley River mall location and had wonderful customer service. I was so excited to try the Keto bun which did not disappoint. The burger itself was good, a little small but I was informed of this when I ordered. The bacon and blue cheese was a good balance but I will admit, I slathered my burger with Black Mambo sauce so I can't really speak to the overall flavor BUT that sauce was tasty!!! Friends ordered boneless wings which to me looked very greasy and the fries were not super hot. We went to this establishment with our service dog. They said our dog could not be there. When we told them he is a service dog they just stared at him and us as if we were lying. We felt very uncomfortable and left. I am a combat veteran and spent almost two years getting my dog certified with a highly reputable organization. I was looking forward to trying this place as I had heard good things. The smokiness of the wings is an interesting and unique flavor, however it lacks any flavor. Yes, I realize that's what the sauce is for. I ordered the garlic parm wings and was surprised when the wings arrived and the sauce was on the side. Seriously? If I wanted dipping sauce I would have asked for ranch or blue cheese. The sauce was lacking in flavor. It looked like a bad STD I've treated with medicine. Anyone can melt butter and put seasoning in it to call it a sauce, however, it had no garlic flavor at all. When you are a wing place, but make better burgers then wings something is wrong. I'll give it to them that they can make a delicious burger, but seriously the wings are truly toxic. To begin the wings a smoked then flash fried, which makes sense, to give it a nice crunchy layer to what should be a aromatic smokey flavor. It doesn't. What it does do is cause the wings to be utterly dry, they say the rub the wings with as special blend of spices, but really the only thing you taste it dry Smokey flavor that actually mask any other flavor including sauce you put on it. In there defense they do have a strong sauce game, including some of the spiciest sauces in town on there "secret menu." So they have that going for them. That's all I have to say for now, maybe I'll visit there new location on W 11th and see if it is any different. Until then I stand strong at my rating. read more
