Toxic is a decent place. I've been there a few times. Today wasn't any less than good. I ordered a cheeseburger (it was free* because my birthday is this week), fries and 6 bone-in wings. The cheeseburger was good. They always are. The patty was juicy, cheese was perfectly melted, and the veggies were fresh. The only downside is that the bun was too much for one patty. The wings were cooked well. The sauce is on the side unless you ask for the wings to be tossed. Here is the problem: I ordered the honey sriracha flavored sauce and it was awful. I wasn't able to taste honey or sriracha because it tasted spoiled. It seems that it wasn't refrigerated properly. Overall, it was good. Most of the time it's 4 1/2 to 5 place. I've been curious about this place since it move in. I was impressed with the way they cleaned up their store front and greatly increased their curb appeal by constructing very nice outdoor furniture on the spot. I went for the wings but ordered the burger instead. My dining partner ordered the wings. And, this is where they lost one star. I asked the cashier if their burgers were prepared with fresh meat or a frozen patty. I was told they source their grass-fed meat from a local farmer and they purchase the entire cow. The patty is 1/5th pound and pressed thin for quick cooking. Still did not answer my question. I'm going to assume that the patty was frozen. How can anyone keep a whole cow fresh? The burger was good (single, less than $4) even with the organic Ketchup, organic Mustard (although I don't usually put k/m on my burgers) and organic Mayo. I'm pretty sure the lettuce and tomato was also organic. The bun was hearty and made in house, (would have held up to a bigger meat patty--hint hint!) In case you are contemplating adding fries with your burger -- SKIP 'EM. They give you a huge portion (enough to serve 4 diners) that came from the freezer. I find it a bit insulting that a restaurateur would put so much energy into promoting their special burger or bun or wings and then skimp on the most loved burger side dish. OH! Been going sinse it opened, but overtime the quality and quantity has suffered. I keep going back hoping for a return to the original quality. This last time I had the boneless and fries. Good flavor, but overcooked, dry and rubbery. There were 5 pieces with no size consistency, one piece was as small a quarter. The fries were very good and the sauces I had were great. These are my favorite wings in Eugene hands down. They find the perfect balance of crispy but yet juicy and tender on the inside. I really love the customer service and commitment to providing a great experience for their customers. I walked in for lunch on a Sunday and was greeted warmly by staff, and then proceeded to spill an ENTIRE cup of iced tea all over the ground after ordering. The owner happened to be standing next to me and assured me that it was no big deal and they would handle the clean up. He was really sincere and it definitely helped lessen the embarrassment on my end. They have fresh flowers at each table and staff checks in with customers to make sure they are enjoying everything during their meal. Recommended to me by several people, Toxic seemed like a good choice for a dinner-out night. Unfortunately, it was not. My largest gripe was with the service. Not only did the cashier act completely uninterested in our order, she apparently was. I had to repeat myself numerous times, correct her incorrect order entries, and after all of THAT, she still took it down wrong. When the time came to actually eat the food, the disappointment was complete. The boneless wings were severely overcooked, rendering some of them nearly inedible. The sauces were lackluster, and couldn't save the shoe leather wings. i would have given this experience a single star but for two thing: the price was decent and the sweet potato fries were tasty. Went last night to grab food for my friend for her birthday dinner. As a vegetarian I am always looking for a good veggie burger to chow down on and was told that Toxic Wing's had one of the best veggie burgers in Eugene. I ordered the veggie hemp burger and a side of garlic Parm fries ( the garlic parm sauce is on their sauce menu instead of their regular menu on top of their register.) The veggie hemp burger was delicious! The bun was NOT soggy, slightly crunchy but also soft. It was everything you'd imagine a crabby patty bun would taste like. The Hemp burger itself was nothing like I'd ever had. This hemp burger was cooked very well and the texture was almost creamy like, it felt very intact and surprisingly didn't taste very herby or earthy ( I hate it when veggie burger taste too minty or are overpowered by any herb). I would give the veggie hemp a 10/10. Pro tip: Much better with pepper jack too. My fries however, I wasn't very impressed. They were soggy and not very crispy. At first I thought maybe it was because it was tossed in with the sauce and perhaps sat for a bit but then my friends fries were also limp and soggy. I had to put them in my own oven and cook them longer to make sure they were warm and crisp. I have read a couple reviews saying that the sweet potato fries are delicious so I may give them a try. The atmosphere is alright, a little more than what you would expect from a deli/ burger/ wing joint and the customer service was mediocre. The lady at the register did her job but seemed a bit grumpy (although it was later at night). Even so, I'm a stickler for good customer service since I work in the food industry myself and wasn't super pleased with my interaction. Overall, I will definitely be returning because of the veggie burger but maybe get my fries and friendly service somewhere else. read more

Very disappointed. Had been here a few months ago and it was amazing. Back and the burgers have shrunk a lot. My pickle slice was thicker than the burger and the bun was about 2 inches altogether, not the right balance at all. Bun is great, but it needs to be proportionate to burger, although this burger was just ridiculous, especially for the price, couldn't even taste the burger. Last time wings were perfectly cooked and great seasoning, didn't even need a sauce. This time dried out and bland. I would never order a burger again and prob won't be back. read more

My quibbles with this place, then, are that the sauces are kind of lackluster. While there are a few that I like, there's a big menu of them, and most of their flavors fall short of the mark. This our favorite local burger and wings place. The food is great! The staff is really wonderful. They have been trained to be very friendly, very informative, they can answer any question about anything that they serve there. The owners are super nice. The location of this little place it's pretty tight, you could call it cozy. They've opened up a couple of other locations, one inside Valley River Center, which is super fancy. And then the new one on West 11th. I haven't been to that one yet. But I absolutely love their original location on River Road. My husband's favorite "go-to" is the Swiss mushroom burger, which I don't believe is actually on the menu but they make it anyway. He's tried many food items from there, but I always order the boneless wings with Garlic Parmesan sauce. The owner knows that I love that sauce. I attended a wedding that they catered and she made sure to point out to me that they had the garlic parmesan sauce available.
