Been coming here for years, but hadn't ever put in a review until now. Visited just the other day after picking up a bubble tea at a nearby establishment and needing dinner. I ordered the veal parmigiana which came with spaghetti and soup or salad. I opted for the chicken noodle soup. I also ordered rice pudding and some rugelach. The veal was huge, two huge pieces that covered the container with lots of melted cheese and sauce. The spaghetti was a huge portion in and of itself and the cup of soup was a nice size. The veal, spaghetti, and soup were all tasty and flavorful. Though it was so filling, it created a second meal for me. The rice pudding was good and a big portion. It was nice and creamy and I really enjoyed it. The rugelach was for a family member who loved it. Highly recommend this fine diner. You can't go wrong with the menu at a diner and this one is no exception to the rule!! read more

Tight cramped space where you are basically elbow to elbow with the other tables. I ordered a Mushroom Swiss burger which was $16 for literally cold canned mushrooms and a freezer burnt overcooked burger that was literally inedible. The best thing on my plate was the pickle, and thats saying something. I will say staff was very friendly and they did take the burger off my reciept with no hassle but I would never eat here again even if I was paid. read more

Chrome booths, Naugahyde, jukebox and classic diner coffee and service. It's a diner. It is comfortable. You can get what you want when you want it. But it won't be great, it'll be greasy. Coffee was very good and fast. Waitress kept the cup full of coffee with a smile. Menu had everything plus like a diner should. Combos didn't make as much sense as I'd like. Corn beef hash and eggs wasn't necessary, so just ordered al la carte. Grits sucked. Grit balls in grit soup. Shoulda stirred it. Pancakes were very good and they were happy to put the fruit in them or on the side. Blueberries were large and tasty. Can still enjoy the place, just have to have the right expectation. read more

If you are on a strict no-sodium or low-sodium diet then the Towson Diner is a great choice for you! Me and my friend went here for brunch on a Sunday and I ordered a mushroom, sausage and swiss cheese omelette with home fries and a side of toast. Let me tell you, it had ZERO FLAVOR or seasoning! I never have to or like to add salt to my food, but I had to with my dish and it didn't help at all. Even adding ketchup to my home fries didn't help. Even with the sausage in the omelette it was so bland. The only thing I could taste was the natural slight sweetness of the Swiss cheese; and the mushrooms definitely came straight out of a can! I was so disappointed. The only thing I enjoyed was my buttered toast (can't mess that up haha)....Smh. No thank you! never again! read more

My wife likes diners, we eat at Double T often. I frequently complain but this place is 2 steps below. Service is fine, but the food is pretty bad. Really sub-par overall. I can't recommend. read more

I have eaten here steadily for twenty years Every meal I've ever gotten has been totally delicious. The menu is huge with wide choices for breakfast, luy, and dinner. Yes the prices are higher now because of the pandemic, but I dare you to find one that kept prices the same. The servers take your order promptly and bring the food in around 10 ish minutes. I'm diabetic so I don't eat desert, but the large assortment of pies and cakes are huge and look delicious. read more

Best Diner I've ever been in and I have been in many.. Did not have to ask for anything. Tall glass of water came with menu. Coffee served hot out of pot . Staff worked as a team. Manager / owner ? Seemed to know all his regulars by name and actively jumped in to help clear tables. Food excellent . Service was the best . Clean happy fun to be here. Can't pass this Diner up . Thanks read more

First time at Towson Diner and it was good! Generous portions, family friendly, no wait for our party of four. I had a basic breakfast with eggs, potatoes, turkey sausage, toast. Friends had French toast, waffle, omelet and sides. No refills on drinks and if you want to make your own omelet each topping is extra and can add up pretty fast. I didn't make it past the first page of their big menu to see all the offering so I guess I need to return:) read more

Way overpriced. Service was lacking. Cream chip beef was a horrid disaster. Cream was the consistency of 2nd grade paste. The bread was beyond stale. Couldn't get staffs attention to fix the horrid meal. My wife's Gyro was so sloppy, she had to eat it with a fork. No stars, just a warning sign. read more

Pretty standard diner experience. Place is clean. Service is efficient but sterile. Food is acceptable but not memorable. Prices are typical diner prices. Full bar. Kids menu available. Not a destination but not terrible if in area. read more

I love breakfast for dinner and Towson diner is one place that's open past 7 pm, so this was the obvious choice! I think overall it's a decent diner, but it's no more than that. Food is okay, not great. Pancakes were a little burnt, sausage patties were okay. Waffles seemed to have been good. Coffee is not very good, although they do have standard free refills. read more

Not so good this time...I guess the server and our selections just didn't measure up. Server was inattentive and never once asked how our meals were. I had to wait forever to get her attention for a second cup of coffee...and when she returned she in rote asked, "Would you like more coffee." My order of Elvis pancakes contained all the right ingredients, chocolate chips, banana chips, peanut butter chips, and bacon, but seemed dry. My wife's order of a Spanish omelette was gooey and contained vegetables the size of my thumb's first joint. The visit was not pleasant. ...again I attribute the experience to our selections and our server. My previous review and experience was much superior. read more

Ok if you order the right thing here, it is on point. I thought maybe I should get the gyro. And RJ thought maybe he should get a chicken salad club sandwich. These seemed like appropriate diner orders. And these things were huge. Like enormous. Our server was pretty much a jerk but the food was banging. For example my gyro came with a tossed salad but for 2.95 more you can get a Greek salad. However he did not tell me this and took it upon himself to give me that and charge more for it. Luckily, it was fantastic. My gyro was so good, the meat just melted in my mouth. The server said it was a mixture of beef and lamb. I had to bring half of the gyro plus the greek salad home. I would definitely get that again. Somehow I have never had a drink here but they are dirt cheap, so it's on my radar for next trip. read more

Classic diner! Food was excellent and service was quick but attentive. Great option on cous!

At Towson diner, what you see is what you get. It's mediocre greasy grub, but it's a perfect spot to hit if you're hungover or if you hate yourself. Or if you're a man over 45 talking to some buddies about how a Libertarian should really be in office and how that Kamila Harris is really no good for Washington. Yeah, I sat at the bar and overhead some interesting conversation from the two guys sitting next to me. It was super entertaining, and the staff was super kind and accommodating. The food just was not that good. I'll be back for sure though, it's not a place you go for something fancy or sensational, it's a place you go to brood over your poor decisions as you choke down your crappy cup of coffee while the wait(er)(ress) asks if they can get you anything else. read more

I had a great meal at this little diner. I built my own 3 item omelet, so naturally, I got all meats (bacon, ham, sausage.) The omelet did not disappoint! I also got scrapple on the side. That too was delish. Overall, great food and service. Check it out. read more

We don't really have diners like this in Charlotte - the kind with pages of menus with all sorts of stuff. I was here for breakfast, so I stuck with the breakfast specials. Two eggs (poached), home fries and toast. I was served as I ordered it, promptly. Coffee refills were a little hard to come by. $10 for a filling breakfast? Yes. read more

As far as diners go, this is pretty standard. Party of four, early dinner on a Saturday night, place was not busy. Place was simple, not flashy, nothing special. Food was meh. The omelette I ordered was dry and did not taste good. The Boston Cream Pie was dry and old. The rest - generic, nothing to write home about. Lots of options tho, and serving sizes were generous. Service was fast. Prices reasonable. I just wouldn't come back here. If you're in the mood for good diner food, look someplace else. Maybe DoubleT or even Denny's. read more

I've only had omelettes here, but they are big and good. Potatoes could always use an extra minute on the griddle to get a little crisp, but instead they come out a little pale. The coffee is good. Service is usually great, but once in a while you get neglected. Price is probably a tad too high compared to other diners. Nothing special. But it doesn't need to be. You want diner food, you could do worse than Towson Diner. read more

Meh, its a diner, looks like a diner, has a big menu like a diner (why do they serve crab cakes? who knows) but they dont have any yummy diner food or the diner prices i expect. I feel like i paid a lot of money for breakfast food it might be because i wasnt satisfied with my food but still seemed like a lot for some eggs and sausage. Lets talk about these eggs. When i say I would like my eggs scrambled with cheese I thought it was understood that my cheese should be scrambled in my eggs and not a whole slice of cheese just laid sadly on top. Cheese was also sadly laid on top of the grits i ordered :( The grits were bad. trying to mix that cheese in the grits was a fail and no amount of salt and pepper could save it. The pancakes were over cooked, the only think i liked was the sausage. You will probably never see me check in to towson diner again I wouldnt suggest you check in here either read more

I had the eggs Benedict. I'm pretty sure that everything in them came from a can, including what I think was supposed to be the English muffin. The dish was a kind of passive-aggressive bad, like whomever prepared it knows exactly what a good eggs Benedict is, but made a conscious decision to make a bad eggs Benedict. However, everything else on our table was also pretty bad, so I'm inclined to believe that this is just poor execution rather than some quasi-artistic protest from a line cook whose father was murdered by a Delmonico's waiter. Of particular note were the home fries. They were remarkably terrible. If you're eating at the Towson with someone whom you don't like, you should definitely recommend them. Order the cold cereal for yourself. Tell your companion that you need the Raisin Bran and wink. They'll change the subject. The standout of the meal was a glass of milk. It was well-executed, with the milk cold and inside the glass. I assume that the waitress prepared it. Nicely done. The service was excellent. Ambiance was "diner", with maybe a touch more listless sadness than would be typical. Perhaps that's just a Maryland thing. read more

Yeah, I love diners. I am a self- proclamed Deco Era Fan. This one is not a let down- but then, most aren't. This diner is clean, has great food, (I had a huge omelette. Not cheap, but great portion). Even though it's not a railroad car, it still has that very old diner-ish feel. Nice waitresses, too. Yeah, I'll go back! read more

Diner food is basically a go to when you need quick breakfast food. Overall the food was really good but I deducted the two stars for the cheese. I asked for cheese in my grits and another at the table asked for cheese in her eggs. Instead we got a kraft slice on top of things and not even melted!! Such a disappointment!! read more

Quality good, quality service, and one clean venue. While I usually don't go to diners, I made an exception for this one while getting my car worked on down the street. The food portions were quite large, and I wasn't able to finish everything. The coffee was okay, yet could be better. The price? Very, very reasonable. Not cheap, not expensive, but reasonable. The breakfast specials are highly recommended if your server doesn't inform you of this. All & all, I would certainly return here on my return trip to Towson. read more

Best breakfast ever very delicious and service was good, definitely will be coming back soon.

Standard diner fare and having lived in NJ for the past 13 years I can say that I know diners. The other plus was that it's a short walk from the Sheraton Hotel. I had the French Toast (which was done with their homemade Challah bread) and bacon. The bread was thick and fantastic and the side order of bacon was 6 slices which is almost unheard of. Great taste and good service. Neat and clean inside and out. Good spot for breakfast and would like to try them one day for lunch or dinner. read more

This was my first time visiting this diner, and I dont normally like diners but I was pressured into going! I was actually VERY surprised at how good my food was. My server was very pleasant, actually all the staff that I encountered was very nice. They could stand for a renovation! Meh. Ate here the first time and it was just ok. Service was acceptable. The reubens were ok and the coffee not horrible. Prices are decent. Let's call it 3 stars. We ate there again last night. Again, the food was just ok. We were hungry after a concert at the Merriweather and they were open, so... The waitress was definitely in the weeds at some point, as it took awhile to place a drink order, but she did her best. Spaghetti and meatballs were as jar of sauce and frozen and microwaved meatballs as youd expect. My spanish omelette wasn't short on veggies, but bland. Again, passable on an empty stomach. 2 stars. Final rating is 3, because it wasn't bad enough for me to round down. read more

This is a really good, old school, no frills diner. Service was prompt, our server was excellent. We didn't wait too long, and everyone was respectful. The food was good. Not excellent, but good. Sausages were tasty, bacon was probably not the highest quality but cooked perfectly. Pancake batter could be a little better. Coffee was better than most diners, which is a plus. Also a note to fellow yelpers: Evaluate establishments for what they are. I hate seeing 3 star reviews that verbally say it was good. If it was good, then give it at least 4 stars. Stopped in for breakfast while in town, there was a little bit of a wait but not to long, maybe about 20 minutes, but it was a Sunday morning. The server came right up and asked if we were ready to order. We asked for a minute to look over the menu and then it took about another 15 or so minutes before the server came back, we actually contemplated leaving. (We did try and get someone else to grab our server but it didn't speed up the process). Over all the food is decent, it's diner food, exactly what you'd expect for a diner breakfast. Our food didn't come all out at once which was kind of a bummer but overall it was good. read more

We've been coming here for years but apparently new owners took over. We sat at the table for 25 minutes and no one came over. When we asked for a waiter and they gave us water.
