We came here for our anniversary dinner, attracted by the nice view and tasty looking food. They definitely did not disappoint! Food: This Turkish spot in Edgewater serves great Mediterranean fare. We ordered the calamari to start, and then followed it up with the Mixed Grill and Skirt steak which both came with their own sides. Wow these portions were big. One entree could probably have fed the both of us comfortable. We ended up having to take the leftovers away. Very tasty! Service: We got there around 5 pm on Saturday night without a reservation and were seated right away. The servers were very patient in explaining some of the Turkish menu items I was unfamiliar with. Ambiance: The decor of this place is definitely outstanding. There is outdoor patio seating with string lights which would be perfect for a warm night. Inside, they have very nice decor as well so there are aesthetic options wherever you end up sitting!

I came to Tosun on a Tuesday night a few weeks ago. It was fairly empty with only 2 other tables with people. Starting with what I liked, the food. The food here is was excellent to say the least. Appetizers were very good and I liked the hummus. I had the beef kebab and it was honestly one of the best I've had. My mother had the salmon and she liked how it was prepared. We had the Balkava for desert. It was good, but a bit too sweet for me. One thing I do want to note is this restaraunt does not serve alcohol, so make sure to come with a bottle of wine, if you drink. Overall, I would say the food here is 4/5. The service here was shockingly bad. Getting the waiters to serve us was like pulling teeth and they had a bad attitude. My son came first and he asked for water for everyone. The waiter brings a closed bottle of poland spring and didn't pour it for anyone. When I arrived with my wife and mother, we brought a bottle of wine and the waitress hands us a bottle opener instead of opening it and pouring it. I then tried to get a waiters attention and they were just roaming around to help open it for us. After about 5 minutes of trying to get a waiter over, they came and opened the bottle. It took a long time for the waiter to come and take our orders even if we tried to get their attention. As we were dining the waiters did not come once to our table. I understand if the restaraunt is full but it was practically empty. After we ate, the waiters disappeared somewhere we had to wait for 10 minutes to ask for the bill. Even then, they didn't want to walk over to us. I have never seen such poor service and was shocked that a good restaraunt has this issue. Service was 0.01/5. Finally, the bill. The bill includes tips and I would have left half of what was computed given how terrible the service was. The bill was much more than I expected and I didn't like how expensive it was. Overall, I had a great meal here but the service I received was just terrible.

What a local gem. Came out for a casual dinner after long day at work. Great food, great service. Reasonable prices. We definitely will be coming back.

Lahmacun ($8) But not as great as before

Mediterranean/Greek/Turkish food - A selection hard to find in this area, but the food is decent and it's BYOB. Always a must get is : Shepherd's Salad (with lots of herbs!!!!!) Shrimp casserole (Tomato sauce) - Great for dipping with bread as if it's Shashuka ^^ Their dips are great !!!!Tzatziki, hummus, babaganoush, etc. Baklava & Kunefe for dessert !!!!! I am usually a big fan of Lahmacun, but this time, I wouldn't know why, but the meat smell (??? Lamb????) was unpleasant. Maybe we should opt for lahmacun at another Turkish restaurant at Cliffside Park. But, all in all, Marmaris is worth it.

Food is really tasty, on the healthier side. Feels like a true Turkish experience. Cozy and beautiful atmosphere. Very nice and attentive servers.

Very tasty and authentic Turkish cuisine! Went here with my mentor who is from Turkey and we ordered a variety of appetizers/ finger foods. He surprised me and ordered in Turkish with the waitress, so I only knew what some of the dishes were but not all. The dessert was to die for and I really enjoyed the Lahmacun, the shepherds small salad, the Muhteber with the pita bread was also tasty and the feta in phyllo (sigara boregi) were super delicious. They had thinly slice liver (which I don't really like but, since it was very thin, I was able to have some pieces) would definitely recommend!

Pistachio puff pastry with clotted cream...so delicious!

I come here for breakfast. I keep forgetting to take pics before I eat, so going to need people to trust me in my review. The omelette with sucuk (sausage) is very good. Platter comes with cut fries and sliced cucumbers and tomatoes. As for the desert, the pistachio puff pastry with clotted cream is really good; not to sweet for a desert. It has the right amount of sweetness. Staff is pleasant. Will recommend.

Food is pretty good. I wish dumplings had more seasoning. Bread, salad, and dips were tasty. Ataff was nice

Caramelized milk pudding. good but would've preferred it served warm. Fresh raspberry preserves with it were tart and awesome!

So good! It is better than the restaurant in NYC. Manti dumpling, lamp sac tava, and kunefe. Surprise me! Strong recommendation.

It was 5pm on a slow Monday so we were seated right away. The interior is cozy, quiet, and clean. We started with 3 Mixed Appetizers along with their complimentary warm bread. The 3 dips were all solid but nothing out of the ordinary. Good flavor, smooth & creamy texture, and great for sharing. I love ordering dishes like the Mixed Kebab Platter for Two as we get a taste of everything and it's family-style. The presentation was beautiful, the meats were tender, and I like that they paired it with rice, bulgur, and some salad. All the meats were tender and well-seasoned but could've been hotter in temperature. I particularly enjoyed the chicken & lamb adana kebabs. My other minor complaint was the sides were not enough to share and the ratio compared to the meats was off. We definitely could've used more rice with the meats. The staff were super kind & friendly the entire time. Decent try overall!

It was good for maybe the first 3 or 4, so perhaps better ordered for larger groups. Shepherd Salad (APP, 4/5) - Fresh, bright(as in vinegar), and herbaceous, we added feta cheese to it and it was perfect balance to our entree. Kofte Kebab (MAIN, 4/5) - Not too dry with packed flavor of all the herbs & beef, I really enjoyed my dish. Went great with all the other accouterments such as slightly cinged wedge of tomato and onion slices, all frolicking on a bed of warm rice that had a nice bite. Adana Kebap (MAIN, 4/5) - My colleague had this one, and I tried a piece. It was juicy and had no hint of gaminess which is always a plus for lamb. 3. Service (3/5) - This being a mom & pop store, I think they're short on staff. Usually they're all in the back cooking, so you do need to be a bit patient to flag someone down. But I'm sure they're more attentive during busy hours. (We went during weekday) Overall, Hakki Baba is a solid turkish mom & pop shop that delivers on great authentic flavor at a reasonable price. In the sea of turkish restaurants in Cliffside Park area, this one is one of my favorite. Pay them a visit!
