    Fried Calmari

Beautiful views and a really nice vibe overall. The calamari was super crispy which I love and the drinks were made really well without tasting watered down or overly sweet. The space felt clean and stylish and the service was friendly.

How do I convey that this restaurant is 4 and 0.99 stars without sounding sprung. I cannot. We LOVED the food. Edgewater is new to us and Taverna Veranda has melded to our minds. The waitress was friendly, pleasant and elevated our experience. She let us know about the pineapple that looked like garnish that changed the lavender mousse from good to HOLY SHARK REPELLENT BATMAN! Unfortunately we went during single digit temperatures and can't wait to return in the spring/summer. It's clean, romantic and romantic.

Taverna Veranda was amazing. The location is near the water so there is a gorgeous view of the NyC skyline. There is ample parking as it is located in a plaza so there was a lot of self parking. The service was great. We had a reservation for five so we were seated upon walking in. I recommend having the majority of your party there for easier service. The decor was fitting and cozy. A little dark but not impossible to see my food or people's faces. The music was cool but we were talking so it didn't fully bother us or grab our attention. There is a great selection of wines and cocktails. The holiday sangria was one of the best sangrias I have ever tasted. I would highly recommend it. The other cocktails on the menu seemed very interesting and my dinner guest did try different cocktails as well as a mocktail and they all really enjoyed them enough to order seconds so that speaks. We ordered appetizers for the table which included the spicy feta, hummus, and crispy calamari. The spicy feta and the hummus came with two types of pita bread. One was like warm and soften. The other was a little crunchy. They both complimented the spicy feta and hummus perfectly. The crispy calamari had an aïoli and a red sauce, which I believe may have been some type of marinara sauce I didn't taste it, but the aïoli was really good and the calamari was cooked to perfection. For our entrees, the table had the lobster pasta, rack of lamb, spinach, and mashed potatoes, as well as brussels sprouts salad. We all enjoyed our meals and had no complaints whatsoever. I specifically had the lobster pasta and it was really good. I am not a big lobster fan, but I wanted to try something new so the lobster pasta was cooked really well, had great seasoning and flavor and it didn't overwhelm me with lobster it was just the right lobster to pasta ratio. I did use the restroom and it was clean, so I appreciated that. Service was really good as our table host was accommodating, patient and recommended great choices especially the sangria. I would definitely return to try other options on their menu.

Did you meet your new date online and they stated they like trying new restaurants? Would like to take your long time partner to a romantic dinner and try a different menu? The view, low lights and nice right volume music make this restaurant perfect to accomplish the goals above. All the waitress are on point; polite, friendly and they don't take the glass with the last sip of your drink without asking. They have a dressing code; they asked me to take my hat off. I recommend this place and all items in the pics on this review.

The day after 4th of July we wanted somewhere fun to eat and we found it! Such a beautiful view of the Hudson and you can hear the waves, great service and the most delicious food! Highly recommend the lobster gyros, chicken kebab, grilled swordfish and lemon chicken! Perfect afternoon!

We came to Taverna Veranda for a girls' night out with old friends and had such a great time. Yes, the bill was a little steep (around $900 for 5 of us), but honestly the food, drinks, and overall experience made it worth it. The food was outstanding. The lamb chops were perfectly seasoned and cooked just right, the squid ink pasta with lobster was rich and full of flavor, and the sides complemented everything so well. You can tell they really put care into every dish that comes out. The drinks were another highlight...my espresso martini was delicious and you know I love a good espresso martini, and every cocktail at the table was beautifully made and delicious. To top it off, the manager came over and surprised us with a round of free shots, which was such a fun touch and made the night feel even more special. The service was amazing throughout...attentive, warm, and really added to the whole experience. The restaurant has beautiful views and outdoor seating, which we'll definitely come back for on a nicer day (it was raining this time). Overall, Taverna Veranda was the perfect spot for a memorable girls' night. Great food, amazing drinks, fun atmosphere, and thoughtful touches that made us feel taken care of. Add this place to your list!!

We were here for a weekend lunch. We made a reservation to ensure we have table upon arrival, but it wasn't too busy, we were the second group at the restaurant. I was really impressed with the interior of the place, beautiful pink flowers, little bit of greenery, a fancy bar, and of course the tables on the closed deck looking out to NYC harbor. We started with the grilled octopus, very well cooked. Then I had the lamb burger. Excellent paddy with delicious cheese and toppings. Fries were good too. I got to try the Branzino as well. It had two filets, cooked over ladolemono sauce. Loved its flavor. Overall the service was good. Our server was a pro. Some of the staff helped us to take photos inside the restaurant. Overall we had a wonderful lunch experience by the Hudson.

Came here for a birthday lunch. Love the view and decoration inside the restaurant. Flowery theme and open space. The waiter is very nice and attentive. He forgot my drink at the beginning but as me signaled him down, he realized it and brought me the drink. The lychee cocktail was very very strong for me. It was good and with strong lychee aroma. The Bronzino was cooked beautifully. Tender inside and crispy skin. With the lemon, it was absolutely wonderful. I would recommend for a date and family gathering. Very relaxing vibes and good food.

TLDR: great food, great service, great environment. Perfect place for a first date or to celebrate a special occasion. Came here for dinner on a Saturday and it was EXTREMELY busy. Luckily they had a very large parking lot so it was easy to get a spot. O well, food was great, portions were perfect and the price was reasonable. Falafel: very strong flavor and very crisp. Okay but wouldn't order again. Watermelon and feta salad: refreshing and definitely opens up your appetite. Would order again. Skirt steak: cooked to a perfect medium rare with a chimichurri sauce. Wish it came with some grilled vegetables or something but had to order it a la Carte. Not sure if I would order again. Tiger shrimp: huge shrimp, cooked to perfection with a beautiful char. Would order again. Chicken kebabs: juicy chicken thighs kn a generous portion of rice. Would order again. Lamb chops: cooked perfectly but it was SO oily. Although it's naturally fatty, the bottom of the plate had a huge puddle of oil. Not sure if I would order it again. Calarami: perfectly crisp with a nice sauce pairing. Would order again

On a recent visit to Taverna Veranda, my date and I decided to sit at the bar, where we were immediately charmed by the lively atmosphere and the creative cocktail menu. The drinks had playful, witty names, which made choosing one all the more fun. I settled on a Mezcal passionfruit cocktail called "Salty in the Streets, Sweet in the Sheets", while my date opted for a Mezcal-based drink with honey syrup, sorrel, and cinnamon, named "Say Hello to My Little Drink". Priced at around $18-$19 each, both cocktails were exceptionally well-crafted, and it was clear that the bartender knew his craft. For appetizers, we ordered the Spinach Pie ($14) and Kefte ($15), both served with a side of tzatziki. To accompany them, we asked for a mix of toasted and untoasted pita bread, which was perfect for dipping. The flavors were solid, and the dishes arrived quickly. While they were both enjoyable, I'd rate them 7/10--tasty, but not the standout of the night. For our main course, we took our bartender's recommendation and ordered one of the specials: a slow-braised lamb shank served with mashed potatoes, carrots, and string beans. As soon as it arrived, it was clear we were in for something special. The lamb was fall-off-the-bone tender, perfectly seasoned, and paired with rich, creamy mashed potatoes. The portion was generous, almost overwhelming at first glance, but every bite was pure comfort and flavor. Our bartender mentioned that whenever this dish is on the menu, he orders it himself--and I now understand why. This was hands down the best dish of the night, and honestly, one of the best I've had in a long time. 10/10. Days later, I'm still thinking about that lamb shank. It was so good, I'm tempted to recreate it at home--but something tells me it won't quite match the magic of the one at Taverna Veranda. If you ever see it on the menu, do yourself a favor and order it. You won't regret it!

Food and service was great. Prices are high and they charge credit card fees. We have the triple dip - hummus tzatziki and the one with avocado - greekamole- YUM. We also had the beet salad the other salad we had a beef salad and the greek salad and shared all of it. Dips were served with pita bread. For dinner I order the shrimp, my friends had the branzino, chicken kabobs and the short ribs. All delicious

The Eggplant Salad was really more of a dip than a salad, but it had excellent flavor. The Cheese Pastries were crispy, hot and tasty. The Zucchini Pancakes were bland and would have been better with a more generous serving of the garlic yogurt sauce. Service was good for the most part, though a little spotty at times, especially when it came time to get the check. Overall, this was a solid four-star dining experience. We'd be happy to return.
