As I entered the restaurant, I was impressed with the attractive interior and even more so impressed with their viral coffee bar. With so many flavors to choose ranging from pistachio to coconut cloud, I decided to choose the strawberry matcha latte (and it was hard to make a decision). When server Ana placed this iced beverage in front of me, it was love at first sip. The appearance alone instantly caught my eye. Its red, white, and green colors are a perfect fit on a hot summer day. Unfortunately, I had to stir this drink for maximum flavor which altered the appearance; thankfully, I took the photo shot before I started stirring. The ice cubes in this drink made it difficult to stir with the plastic straw, but I was offered a spoon. Although I felt there was a tad bit too much ice in this drink, the combination of strawberry puree, milk, and premium matcha was very refreshing. For an up charge, I added strawberry whipped foam to enhance the flavor even more. Came here on a Tuesday afternoon because I saw that they had a lunch special- appetizer, side, main course, and drink for $19.95. The place had a decent amount of customers for a weekday. We sat in the front dining area where there was a large TV, good for watching the game (in our case, the world cup). The place was clean and server was friendly. We ordered 3 lunch specials that included the fattoush (house salad), mouhamarra, labneh, shish tawook (grilled chicken with rice pilaf), kufta kebab, and mint lemonade. Honestly for food, my average rating for everything would be closer to 3.5/5. The pita bread that came with the table was room temp and served in a plastic bag. I would have liked it to be at least warmed up a little before being brought out. The sides and dips were average. They lacked flavor and depth in my opinion- the labneh was simply plain, sour yogurt without any other flavor. The mouhamarrah was also average, it was a bit spicy and that was about it. Standouts from our table that were very well executed were the lentil soup, shish tawook, and yasmeen fries. The lentil soup came out steaming hot, and was very nicely seasoned. I liked that it came with crispy pieces to add texture. The shish tawook surprised me as it didnt look super special, but it was actually very good! The chicken was juicy, fell apart easily, and had that nice grill flavor. It went well with the rice and vegetables. The yasmeen fries were hot and crispy, the garlic seasoning was a very nice touch. I would've liked if my mint lemonade had more mint flavor in it but perhaps that was my bad for not ordering the slush version. The portions were pretty generous, 19.95 is a fair price for all the food we received. Overall, we had a nice experience and am glad we got to try the place out. read more

I am rarely in New Jersey, but if I ever do frequent it, you can assure that I will have some great Middle Eastern food before leaving. I went to Yasmeen with a friend as he said it's one of his favorite restaurants and it did not disappoint. We ordered the calamari to share & salmon. The calamari was good but I believe the portion could've been bigger. The salmon was also great & I loved the white sauce that accompanied albeit my friend wasn't a huge fan. Do note that the sauce is a bit on the sweeter side so it's not for everyone. In addition to the food, we also had the slush lemonade which was refreshing (despite it being 20 degrees outside haha) & the hookah (albeit the employee there didn't seem sure on how to use it for some reason) which was fine. Overall the place Yasmeen is great vibes and nice people. The food to be honest was okay could have been better and more tasty but it was still good. I got the Yasmeen mix grill which consist of grilled kufta kebab, chicken kebab and lamb shish kebab. They also gave American rice, which I personally am not fan of but was okay. The chicken and lamb were decent nothing over the edge but overall a 7.5/10. The hookah in other hand was amazing, probably one of the best hookah I've had in a while. Drove past here and the pretty decor caught my attention and then also saw a post about it so decided to come check it out! They have valet parking. You might get lucky and park on the street. I especially enjoyed the lamb chops, the meat was tender and flavorful, and the fattoush salad which was perfectly refreshing. The restaurant was simply decorated but stunning as well. In the front they have a flower display which is gorgeous and adds to the sophisticated ambiance. My only issue was that servers kept bringing the wrong drinks/dishes to the wrong tables and food came out so quickly that there was not enough room on our two person table to fit the apps and entrees. The kibbeh was delicious, much tastier than most, albeit on the smaller side. The tabouleh was a beautiful green color and tasted delicious. People had kids and the hookahs with coals were just out in the open and it always felt like an accident waiting to happen. Anyways, we ask for water and they only offer bottled water for $3.
