What a unique place!! We decided to come here on a date night on Friday at the Clifton NJ location around 6:45pm. I made reservations on RESY and no issue during arrival. The place itself is beautiful and service was prompt and efficient - perhaps too quick. Since it's BYOB I brought a bottle of wine and they had wine glasses on the table already with bottles of water which was nice - not tap. We ordered spicey fries, avocado salad and chicken thighs platter, and spinach pies. The avocado salad was good but heavy on the onions. And the spinach pies were savory. Next time I want to try their borekas and halloumi. The chicken thighs were moist and juicy! We decided to order watermelon mint hookah after dinner which was my favorite part but realized we over stayed past the two hour limit as other tables were waiting, so we got booted out. Only criticism is they should be less transactional and give people time to relax and enjoy the atmosphere. Also don't charge $10.00 for water. read more

I am rarely in New Jersey, but if I ever do frequent it, you can assure that I will have some great Middle Eastern food before leaving. I went to Yasmeen with a friend as he said it's one of his favorite restaurants and it did not disappoint. We ordered the calamari to share & salmon. The calamari was good but I believe the portion could've been bigger. The salmon was also great & I loved the white sauce that accompanied albeit my friend wasn't a huge fan. Do note that the sauce is a bit on the sweeter side so it's not for everyone. In addition to the food, we also had the slush lemonade which was refreshing (despite it being 20 degrees outside haha) & the hookah (albeit the employee there didn't seem sure on how to use it for some reason) which was fine. I dined at Yasmeen with a friend. We both ordered our own entrees (Kufta Kebab & Lamb Shish Kebab). Our kebabs were delicious and went well with the rice and side salad that was included in our dishes. We also ordered ourselves falafel to share before our main entree arrived. The restaurant was busy with people dining outdoors and indoors. It's such a great place for a date night or to catch up with friends. Drove past here and the pretty decor caught my attention and then also saw a post about it so decided to come check it out! They have valet parking. You might get lucky and park on the street. It was a Thursday night so not busy at all! The service was definitely quick maybe even too quick. We were even done with our appetizer and the main course came out. This place has valet to start. We came for an early dinner at 5:45 during the weekday and we're able to get a table right away. However, it did fill up as the night went on. I loved the vibe of the restaurant. All of the food was delicious. I truly enjoyed my dining experience at Yasmeen. The food all came out very quickly and everything was delish. I especially enjoyed the lamb chops, the meat was tender and flavorful, and the fattoush salad which was perfectly refreshing. The restaurant was simply decorated but stunning as well. In the front they have a flower display which is gorgeous and adds to the sophisticated ambiance. My only issue was that servers kept bringing the wrong drinks/dishes to the wrong tables and food came out so quickly that there was not enough room on our two person table to fit the apps and entrees. The kibbeh was delicious, much tastier than most, albeit on the smaller side. The tabouleh was a beautiful green color and tasted delicious. The falafel sandwich was much larger than other restaurants. I would definitely order these three again The Yasmeen fries were tasty, although my wife and I don't think we'd order fries here again. Found this spot as it was halfway between where I live and where my friend lives. We just ordered water to drink and were brought two plastic bottles of Poland Spring. Tacky. Then they served us pita bread, which came in a manufactured plastic bag. This hardly seemed to match my $29 salad, which was literally 6 grilled shrimp, arugula, tomatoes and walnuts. The ambiance is what attracted us here and the waterfall on the wall brings everything together. The food service is unfortunately very poor. Waited an hour and half for our food to come. Was told that the kitchen is very backed up and that was understandable however when the food came out the meat was cold and stale like it was sitting out for a while and the fish was raw, not the type of raw where you are uncertain but actually raw like "wow how can they serve that to anyone". The food tasted ok but my stomach has not been the same since eating there on Saturday (today is Monday)... I feel like I swallowed 3 balloons (and I look like it too). I'm wondering how sanitary the kitchen is because I still feel sick. The Tik Toks I saw on the restaurant made it seem like it was much nicer, but they sat us outside on folding chairs and tables. The waterfall was nice but the only other view was a parking lot. We also went with our 3 year old and even though we were outside, we were seated next to 3 tables smoking hookah.
