My clients picked this spot to get lunch and I picked it up. I ordered the falafel platter for myself. When I arrived I parked on the street nearby. I walked in and told the man I was there for pickup. The food was ready and one of the workers helped me to my car. When I got in I ate and the falafel was ok. I've definitely had better platters but the one I got here was still decent. It was a bit oily and the meat could have used a bit more flavor, but overall, not bad. I also ordered their falafel bites and they were ok but their tahini sauce was pretty good. They have enough seating for about 10 people so it's definitely more of a grab n'go type of spot and food comes out quickly, which is nice. Am I excited to come back? Not particularly. This was a pretty mediocre attempt at imitating a platter from Halal Guys in NYC, but it is convenient that they deliver to my office. We ordered food form here, and I got myself a combo platter. The chicken was very meh. The gyro/lamb, whatever it was, tasted like it had a lot of filler. I happen to be in Clifton today visiting a friend and we decided to get lunch from this place. The food is fairly priced for the amount you get. So I went on their website to see if they delivered and in the about me section they stated I time we have for delivery and a specific time slot for takeout. But the curious person that I am deciding to call them and ask if they delivered just to reassure myself, the guy who picked up the phone had zero enthusiasm. When I asked him if they delivered he rudely said no and I had to order through Uber eats. After the conversation I felt a little uneasy but my friend and I still order through Uber eats. The food literally arrived 10 minutes after I placed my order, which made me a little skeptical about the freshness. I have been to a lot of places where they offer platters like this and I have also ordered platters from places that deliver. For an entire platter they gave me one cup of white sauce the size of One of those sample cups you get at Costco, so let's say maybe one or 2 ounces of white sauce for the entire platter. Clearly the amount of white sauce was not enough for that entire platter. I had ordered a mixed platter and the chicken was overcooked and extremely chewy and dry. There was grease dripping all over the tray which I had no idea where it came from. The hot sauce they give it's not even real hot sauce. They basically take some cheap sauce and add Tabasco sauce or a massive amount of vinegar into the sauce and dilute it. I'm sure this is not true that's exactly what it tasted like if you're trying to imagine the sauce. The rice actually tasted decent but yet again it was just dripping in grease. The only reason I am giving this place two stars instead of one star was because the lamb actually had some decent flavor to it. Next time I am in Clifton I probably won't order from here again. I know a place 10 minutes away with a lot better food. If you are in the Clifton area just stick to what you know and Save yourself the trouble unless you actually like extremely greasy stomach churning food. read more

Ordered takeout from this place and I just wasn't a fan of their food. Their mixed platter taste OK, but overall everything was just a bit too tangy. Like when people add lemon juice to disguise the lack of freshness in food. The rice was very oily as a layer of oil collected at the bottom of my dish. They were generous with the white and red sauces, which was great, but the red sauce tasted mostly like Tabasco. Their babaganoush was OK at best, the burnt taste was very strong. Got the delivery and it had the following issues: 1) No utensils / napkins 2) No gyro meat at all. The supermix is supposed to consist of gyro, chicken and kofta. If you're gonna do delivery, get the basics right. I'm more annoyed about the fact that they can't put utensils in an order. Will I order from them again? Bad customer service at this restaurant! I've ordered from this restaurant 5 or 6 times previously throughout the last year, and never had an issue. All of a sudden because it's later at night, they won't deliver because it's outside their "3.5" mile delivery radius? I checked on Waze, it's 4.2 miles away, and you've delivered here several times! And to top it all off, I ordered through GrubHub and the owner/manager tells me "YOU have to call to get your money back". It unfortunately says a lot about a restaurant when they are willing to lose a loyal customer all because of an extra 0.7 mile drive. I got the mixed platter and paid $4.99 for extra meat. Instead of two skewers of each meat, I received three skewers of each meat. They use big pieces of fat on skewers for flavoring maybe so your skewers look big in size but edible meat was three small pieces on each skewer. Food was made fresh and wait time was about 20 mins. Things I noticed, the chef/owner lady had the same gloves on the entire time. She took credit card payments and kept the gloves on. Went back to kitchen and started touching food with the same gloves. I can see the cleanliness or cross contamination is not a big deal for them. Overall food was ok but not worth $22. read more

The delivery was quick and we were always surprised by how fast it got to my home by St. Brendan's in Clifton. I worked in Montclair on Valley Rd. and when I ordered right by MCU, I would have it ready for pick up by the time I got there (5-8 min drive?). The falafel is awesome... My fiance orders it all the time and made me fall in love with it. Anything on their menu is awesome. Try these guys out. I read some of these 1-2 star reviews. What a load of BS. Just ordered the Mixed Platter (Gyro and Chicken) and the Supermixed Platter (Kofte, Gyro and Chicken). I honestly couldn't tell the difference between the two because everything was cut up. The chicken was lighter in color than the gyro, the kofta was cut slightly larger. I couldn't detect a big difference; Both platters were still very delicious! I would suggest you save yourself the extra buck for the Supermixed and order instead the Kofte by itself as an appetizer or a sandwich. Also ordered the Greek salad that had one delicious dolma and just enough feta. Great meal all around. Our new favorite spot, especially for warmer weather. read more

I enjoy the platters at Kebab Platters. It is a very small restaurant, it only has a couple of tables for patrons to sit. This place is generally a place to pick up your order and take home. My first visit at KP was after I took my boys for a hair cut down the street and since we were all hungry, I stopped in here since I was in the mood for a platter. The day we stopped in, it was Ramadan week so everyone in the area was fasting apparently, and the owner and his wife had just broke their fast and were getting ready to eat when we walked in. They were very sweet and attentive to everyone; it was a full house that night. We were able to grab one table for us to sit and eat. I ordered the combo platter and so did my eldest and the little one ordered a gyro. The boys also grabbed rice pudding and a Fizzy Bubbly. Their hot sauce is a typical hot sauce, not too hot and their white sauce was decent. The platter tasted very authentic not commercial like other platter spots. They also offer wings and burgers so it's not just gyros and platters. If I'm in the area again, I'd definitely stop in to try their other stuff. read more

Oh yeah score another winner for halal platter in NJ. Everyone knows that my heart (and stomach) was swept up by another platter restaurant in Jersey years ago. I still love that other place but for a quick fix of platter goodness, I have KP up there with my favs. Now I don't like to play the part of the dad that has to choose between his children. Let's just say that one child founded Apple and the other Microsoft. They are both awesome but I'm not going to say which one is my favorite. Whew having ensured that I am now officially a politician (on account that I can't make up my mind), I do want to mention that KP has recently opened. They have a couple of kinks to work out but overall I am impressed with the food that comes out of their kitchen. I've had a chance to order their mix platter as well as their falafel platter and both times they were delicious. The rice however can be quite oily, as evidenced by what's left at the bottom of the container. This doesn't detract from the consistency and flavor though, so it's not that big of a deal but still I have to nitpick because I have high standards for platters. Now what really separates this platter joint with others that I've been to is the fact that they have side orders of hummus, baba ganush, and *gasp* stuffed grape leaves! Let me say that again: they have stuffed grape leaves. I go ape-crazy when it comes to stuffed grape leaves so that's why KP won me over. On top of this they also have a selection of desserts right on the counter. Oh the humanity! I came to only have some platters but I walked out with a freakin full-course meal. That baklava was made perfectly--and kudos to them if they made it in-house. Opening a restaurant is a challenge nowadays. I just hope that KP will continue to succeed and grab the attention of others in the area who are fans of platter goodness. As for me, I know that I have two places in Jersey that can certainly give New York's carts a run for their money. read more
