Nice ambience, but the food is mediocre and definitely overpriced. My son had the lentil soup and the rice pudding, he just thought it was "fine." I had the Islander Kebab which was fine but nothing special. It was over a bed of croutons which was strange; so I ordered a side rice. Loved this cute place in Teaneck. Came here with 2 friends with no reservations and they had no problem seating us right away. Restaurant isn't big so on a busier evening, I would recommend making reservations just in case. This place is also BYO! Ambiance was really cute. They had these nice velvet blue chairs with warm brown colored tables. The floor are those large grey titled floors that was a little slippery depending on the shoes you're wearing, so keep that in mind (I had Valentino flats on). Our server was great- gave us time to order and didn't overly interrupt. Checked on it when it was necessary and made small talk with us without being overbearing. My two friends order the mixed grill which was a little bit of everything in a big clay bowl and cooked with this nice (sorta like) pita bread on top. It's definitely a good sharing plate and probably would've fed all of us if I had known it was going to be so big. I opted for the falafel platter which had 7 falafels on hummus with a side of rice. Everything was delicious. The falafel had the perfect exterior that provided a nice crunch without it being too overcooked. The inside of the falafel was soft and not too dry where it was fall apart. We also ordered dessert to share- triangle baklava, sutlac, and the kunefe. Everything was great and nothing was overbearing sweet! Only reason why I gave only 4 star was being the food did take longer than expected, although I believe it was due to the mixed grill. The presentation was great and the amount of food that needed to be cooked must've took some time. Would definitely recommend for a nice date night! read more

Really excited to welcome this spot to Teaneck! The decor was lovely (minus the fake flowers; unnecessary and cheap looking). The rest of the dining room was beautiful. The pita bread was freshly baked and delicious! I got the Shepard Salad. So fresh! My date got a chicken dish which he also very much enjoyed. I finished my meal with the Turkish tea; a happy ending! We are always looking for promising Mediterranean restaurants in our area, and Angora popped up last week on my feed. I do as I always do, head over to Yelp to check out any reviews. The great thing about Yelp is their ability to spot "reviews from friends of the restaurant" and to remove them from the regular reviews feed, allowing people to read authentic reviews and not those extolling the virtues of a new perfect dining experience as a favor to the owners. Let me say right off the bat, Angora doesn't need gratuitous reviews from their friends and family. Angora is doing just fine without them. Our first visit to Angora was this past Saturday evening. We didn't think we would need reservations -- but we entered a completely empty restaurant and were asked if we had a reservation. No, we did not. They cast about a few moments, and put us in the front window of the restaurant, in a little floral arbor perfect for a cozy meal. Immediately warm bread and olive oil were placed before us...and people started flowing in, soon filling the small, well appointed restaurant. We chose a selection of hot and cold mezze -- and their Manti, which we shared. There are no wrong selections here. The fried calves liver, zucchini sticks, their cigar borek -- dear lord. And of the cold appies, we chose a trio of dips to devour with their insanely good bread: huumus, babaghanoush and the really delicious not-too-spicy atom dip. The table was pretty tiny so we asked for dishes delivered in shifts and it worked out wonderfully. By the time the Manti showed up (gorgeous dish), we were complaining we were full but damn we cleaned that plate. Dessert? Why not. My very favorite, Kunefe, took a bit to create and get to the table..well worth it. And next time I am dying to try TURKISH MARASH ICE CREAM. In all, the check was under $100 without the tip and to us, it was totally worth it. We have been craving nearby Meditteranean; our last favorite place, Kebabci in Wood Ridge, closed a while ago. Thank you to the servers, and hosts of this most beautiful restaurant; we look forward to many meals with you. Go go go. And tip well. read more

This place is sooooo good!!! Very fresh food and authentic which is the only way to eat Greek!!! The portions are great sizes and the service is really good and helpful. The ambiance is a cozy, clean place good for a smaller group but could accommodate a bigger one too for the brunch read more

Great first experience at Angora and this is a nice new addition to the area. The ambiance is very pleasant and they had nice holiday decorations for the season. We started with the hummus and falafel both were excellent. The mains were also quite good but the apps were the standout. Service was attentive and it's nice that's it's a BYO. We came to Angora in Teaneck for a pre-Halloween dinner before heading out to trick-or-treat with the kids, and it was absolutely perfect! The Mediterranean food was delicious -- especially the Grilled Octopus, which was such a hit that even our 7-year-olds loved it (we actually had to order a second plate!). The service was excellent, the staff was warm and friendly, and the restaurant (including the bathroom) was spotless. This is our 2nd time going to this lovely gem of a restaurant in Teaneck. The first time we went for lunch, and we had such a nice experience, we went back for dinner. The appetizers are our favorites. We tried the falafel, hummus baba ghanoush, Gavurdagi salad, Kibbeh and all were delicious and would definitely order again. Chicken shish and char grilled Branzino were also excellent. The servers - Asli (sounds like Eshley) so sorry if I spelled it wrong, and Kai were excellent. So friendly and helpful. I would come here again, but I would request that my food be well seasoned. It was fresh and well prepared and presented but the tabbouleh was nothing but lettuce, bulgur parsley and that's it. I couldn't taste the olive oil. I couldn't taste the lemon. There was no mint, no cucumbers or onion. I would not pay $12 for that again. The Branzino was nice.
