Spicy beef & spicy chicken breast combo

Love the spicy chicken and beef combo food is always hot and delicious. The restaurant is cute and always clean.

Delicious food ! I go to this place 1-2 times a week during my lunchtime! The portions are perfect! I love that the meat is well cooked (as well as the shrimp when I get that same order as the photo) The cashier/server is very nice and the place was actually renovated! I remember going there when I was in high school so that renovation was great! I really recommend to try this place !

Sirloin steak & chicken thigh combo aka # 2 COMBO

Toshi hooked me up last night in the midst of a brain block on what to eat for dinner. I'd stopped by the QFC for some grocery's and happened to park directly in front of teriyaki joint so I took it as a sign from GOD that I enter... I perused the life size menu above the counter and landed on the Combo # 2 of sirloin beef & chicken thighs. The chef gave me a pile of rice and a heaping serving of flesh for my consumption. I skipped on the salad but ordered a few extra sauces since the lady indicated you only receive one. Within 5 minutes the bag was handed to me and off I drove out into the night. Now the meal was sensational. Meat was moist & juicy and coupled with some amazing teriyaki sauce I devoured it like a Tasmanian Devil. I'll be back for sure. A poster indicating a $9.99 special of chicken and gyoza looked like a total steal if your in the area. Savor my photo and stop on by Toshi's, you won't be disappointed.

Really a 2.5 star review: $17 for this plate doesn't seem worth it when compared to any other Teriyaki spot around. Toshi's used to be the spot but hasn't been what it was years ago. The small portions of beef and teriyaki were dry and bland but the sauce is pretty good. Not the best service but it doesn't seem like her style, I wasn't offended but could see others being. Food did come out very quickly.

The table wait was minimal and totally acceptable. The room was simple (a good thing), and the restaurant's popularity made for a busy but relaxed atmosphere. Our greeter/server was efficient and polite. The sushi was surprising good! Perfectly cooked sushi-rice, and well proportioned topping of fish and other ingredients made for enjoyable bites. The sushi chefs are well trained and talented. Definitely recommend sampling their selections of sushi. You won't be disappointed. Five stars for this. Now for the grill part. Yakisoba is usually a grill item, as it's a stir-fried noodle dish, with it's distinctive Japanese flavor profile, and ingredients. Unfortunately, this was a miss. Though the soy-sauce coloring was correct, the flavor profile was not. The amount of beef in it was acceptable, but the other components were a miss. The only vegetable component was shaved-like slices of small zucchini which I could count with one hand. That seemed to treated more like a garnish, than a component of the dish. Had the grill-cook finished it with a drizzle of tonkatsu-sauce, it would've been closer to what was suggested on the menu. They should rename it "pan-fried beef-noodles" instead. Sure wasn't Beef Yakisoba. Other than that, table-side service was excellent, and the sushi was first rate. Just not the "yakisoba", cuz it wasn't. I will upgrade and edit this review if a few things are fixed.

The exception was our vegan friend, who had a vegan version of midori, their vegetable omakase. The menu said the omakase would take about two hours, but it ended up taking three hours since there was a lot of waiting between items. The quality of the fish varied--the shrimp was good, but the uni and salmon did not seem as fresh. The cooked dishes were good though, and I appreciated the interesting combinations like pickles + geoduck and ice cream + furikake popcorn. The cooked salmon was nice and soft, just barely cooked through. It was great that this omakase place is vegan-friendly, but unfortunately, my friend was not a fan of most of her food. But we all liked the soup that came before dessert! I actually really enjoyed the black cod miso soup they served; it was very rich in umami. I appreciate that this restaurant uses sustainably-sourced seafood, which contributes to the higher price, but I unfortunately still didn't find the meal to be worth the high price tag, especially given the slow service. The server was nice and filled our water pretty frequently, but the estimate of how long dinner would take was too inaccurate. We were also confused about how we got six pieces of each type of oshizushi (the cube-like sushi) to split among four people

There is free parking on the street and a few spots in the back of the building. My very good friend took me here on a whim because we were craving sushi one night, but didn't want to leave the area. The service is good, nothing over the top, but nothing that anyone should complain about. It has a intimate feel like the restaurants you would find in Japan, but individual tables. It's great for parties that are less than 4. For appetizers, I always get the seaweed salad, edamame, and karage, cant go wrong with these, they're hard to get wrong and will pop out pretty quickly. All delicious! For rolls, keep in mind that the specialty rolls are larger than your average. I recently tried the West Seattle Roll, mainly for the fact that we are in West Seattle and I was curious. It was good, very filling, I could only finish 4-5 pieces. Another roll, I would recommend is the spider roll, it's just what you would expect, but a larger than other places I've been to in the past. Overall, highly recommend, I would say call in ahead of time to see how busy it is because the limited seating, but well worth the wait and price. Kanpai!

Started off strong with the uni shot, which was really good, and the sashimi fresh, clean, and exactly what you want from a sushi spot. We also ordered the mushroom and pumpkin salad with spinach, which tasted great, but at $20, it felt a bit overpriced for what it was. The rolls, unfortunately, didn't live up to how they looked. Presentation was definitely there, but the flavor just didn't hit. On top of that, they were falling apart pretty easily when picked up with chopsticks, which made them a little frustrating to eat. Service was solid overall staff was attentive despite how busy it was but they did miss our hamachi kama, which was a bit of a letdown. A couple things to note: this place is cash only, and it gets very busy, so expect a bit of a wait. That said, the vibe is nice, and the design of the space is something I actually liked. Would I come back? Probably for sashimi and appetizers but I might skip the rolls next time.

I wouldn't say it's very salty but it is saucy and you need to mix it with the rice properly to balance it out. The portion is generous and it is very filling. Not bad but I'd go for the chirashi every time.

If you're a fan of Red Bowl in Financial District, this place has a similar vibe with its approach to rice bowls. Having been here twice on different weeks, I think this will become one of my go-to places in the area when I'm craving fresh seafood on a weekend south of downtown. LOGISTICS Parking is convenient for Georgetown area, given they have a dedicated lot for customers of businesses in the area. Entering in, you order through the kiosk and if you're dining in, you can seat yourself and they'll bring the order to you. The space is small for larger groups but if you're 4 people or less, generally there are tables available on off peak hours (at least what we observed Sat/Sun). Ordering happens at the kiosk, which you can choose for takeout or to dine in. Keep in mind there are some items available for dine-in only (ex. udon or seared salmon bowls), but if you plan on doing takeout anyways you can order online or call ahead for pickup. Note - they do close at 2:30 pm but re-open at 4:30 pm. So long as you get your order in by 2:30 pm they'll still service you... which was nice since the last two times we came in around 2:00 PM. FOOD First off, they have nice nice presentation both in how the food is arranged and the bowls they use when dining in. From the ceramic/decorative bowls to the trays they use... it's the little things that add to the dining experience and make you think a business cares about its food. (Note: there was one time we had initially ordered togo but decided to eat in person; so they kept the food in plastic bowls for one of my photos.) In every bowl we had during our two visits, the rice was excellent! We've had some terrible rice at other donburi places before where it can be too overcooked or too mushy. Fortunately their seasoned rice was a good texture and tasty to eat on its own. The seafood was also excellent for the price / quality - fresh tasting with a melt-in-your mouth texture. Volcano Bowl: Spicy salmon + spicy crab salad w/ masago - despite the description it wasn't too spicy (siracha mayo) but it went really well with the rice, like a deconstructed sushi roll. I liked mixing in some wasabi to give it a stronger kick. Aburi Sake Bowl (seared salmon bowl): This is only available to order for dine-in; if you love salmon... I would recommend this one. Seared salmon is delicious seafood umami. I liked how the salmon had the right amount of fattiness too. Chirashi Bowl: If you like variety, then this is an excellent bowl to try a little bit of everything. I was amused that they also included unagi (I don't think I see that in most chirashi bowls). Even the shrimp, which is usually my least favorite part of chirashi bowls, tasted good with a slight sweetness. OVERALL Awesome place and a good location for the area given there's parking available. Price was just right for the quality (I'm amused how much cheaper good seafood is here in Seattle compared to the Bay Area) and the staff were really friendly. There are also two excellent bouldering gyms nearby (Castle Climbing Club and Momentum)... so if you're looking to recharge after a climbing session, I would highly recommend coming here!
