Awesome food and service!! Will definitely be back. Never had anything that wasn't amazing there!!

My husband and I went to Toscano's on Wednesday 10/18/23 the food was ok and when I say ok, it was mediocre my asparagus was burned and was as big around as a piece of yarn. The herb noodles that came with the chicken Marsala we're swimming in oil and very little flavor. But the service was the worst I had ever experienced. It took 20 minutes before our waiter even came to our table. He never checked back with us and didn't bring any refills or even offer water. We asked for the chocolate moose cake to go and he brought it on a plate. We asked for it to go again and they just took the cake slapped it into a box and brought it back to us. No sauce just the cake messed up I'm the box. Would I go back mmmm probably not when you spend $80.00 on a meal and don't get the service or quality that should go along with that price tag no thanks! read more

Me and my boyfriend went on a whim and loved it. We were seated immediately, the waiter never let our drinks get low, and our waiter had recommendations that were spot on. We were very happy with the service. I got the Rigatoni Diavolo and it was delicious, it had just the right amount of heat. My boyfriend got the chicken Marsala, the chicken was so tender and had a great flavor. We shared the caprese salad, the cheese was the right consistency and the balsamic glaze added just the right amount of flavor. We'll be going back. read more

Terrible experience. The service was really slow, they didn't bring us any bread for about for 30 minutes. We had to stop him as he was walking by to bring us bread. When we not our bread, the bottom of it was frozen. Then the server never came back. We had some other people bring us water. The guy who brought us water was great tho! When our food came out, as he was handing my wife her plate, we noticed that there was a lot of dried food crusted on it. He immediately took it back and handed her another plate. But then, that plate was really dirty also. We had to ask for another plate. My wife's sister also had to have them take her plate back. We waited for our food for 50 minutes. We tried our pizza, it was cold and soggy. We had to have them take that back also. Just all around, the service and food was not worth how much it costs. Just go to Olive Garden. read more

I was ready for an expensive dinner and I got that $125. for 4 of us. 1 Appetizer, 4 dinners, 1 side salad. The food was good but not as good as I was hoping for. Got the pork chop. It came with fresh veggies on top of mashed potatoes and fried sweet potato chunks. It all looked good, smelled good and tasted good but I was truly expecting larger portions of everything. 5 pieces of asparagus, 1 cup or less of mashed potatoes and a small portion of potato chunks. The pork chop and sauce was average in size and flavor. Nothing special. Wife got Diavolo, it was good and a little spicy. Kiddos got a wedge salad and pepperoni pizza. Both said it was good. Service was a little slow especially for how not busy the restaurant was. Waitress was good. Happy we tried it but not sure we'll go back. Too much for too little and just average. I came Tascano as part of a large group for a work dinner. We had a private room for all of us which was nice. The servers were friendly and were on top of things which is impressive. As far as the food went it was truly bland. The salads were all made of yellowish iceberg lettuce with not much of anything else. The main course was bland. The fish over cooked and and the quinoa wet and a bit pasty. But not quite bad enough to send it back. The national chain Italian restaurants such as Buca and Maggianos are light years better than Tascano. However, with a large group I'm guessing it's more difficult to deliver a higher quality product than if you came as a group of 2 or 4. At least I'm going to give the benefit of the doubt and go with this theory. I'm personally not a huge fan of Italian Restaurants or pasta. It's so easy to make great Italian at home for a fraction of the cost of eating out, that I tend to avoid them. 3 Stars for this visit because the service was good for our group. But the food shouldn't get anymore than 1 Star. It's not a place I will come back to on my own. read more

On vacation and found this restaurant by yelp reviews. Didn't disappoint. The food was fantastic. You have to try the Parmesan dough bites with Parmesan sauce. Could eat those everyday. Chicken parm was exactly how it should be made , crispy. Substituted pasta for mashed potatoes and they were so homey and tasty. The best part was definitely Kate our server. Super friendly and knowledgeable. On top of her game. We need one of these in Vegas. Will absolutely come again and ask for Kate. read more

I was happy to finally be able to eat here. I have passed it many times I thought it was out of business. You have to park and enter from the back. As a note to the Owner's, you need to make it look more alive from the street and like you are open. Once you are inside the ambiance is great. I had a house salad and the Ravioli with Red Pepper Sauce and Spinach. I can't say the food was really spectacular but it was okay. The best part was the Gelao after and I loved the Pistachio. I don't think I'll be hurrying back but it's a great place to eat once in awhile. I'm still hoping to find a really great non-chain Italian restaurant in SLC. read more

So I am stuck in the middle. I want to give them all the stars but am afraid I cannot. We got there and were seated and it was about 10 minutes before we were greeted, then they seated another couple in our section. This couple seems to come a lot, they chatted our server for a minute while he took their order before ours. He then took our drink and appetizer order, but not really talkative with us or engaging. The Old Fashioned and the Pink Grapefruit Martini were great starts. We ordered the sulami charcuterie and it was amazing (pictured). Unfortunately we didn't get any appetizer plates, so I asked after 5+minutes the first employee that happened to walk by. It happened to be the General Manager. I drink a lot of water and our server only came around to refill our waters twice when checking on us. We got our food, I got the Chicken Marsala and my wife got the Carbonara. Both were really delicious. However the portion size on the Marsala seemed backwards, got a huge portion of fettuccine noodles, and a small chicken breast which could have used more of the Marsala sauce. The Carbonara was on point. Sorry missed getting pics of the entrees. Got the key lime pie and it was perfect. So the only thing that took stars down, was lack of engagement from the server, and portions of my meal. Oh and the black curtains hanging on the ceiling gotta go, they're super dusty. Beware - staff do not wear masks. We were shocked that about 75% of the staff were mask-less including the "manager" - was super excited to try this place. The food was alright. But you have to be aware that this establishment does not take their guests safety/security/well-being into account simply by wearing a face covering. read more

Food was terrible. We ordered spaghetti and meat balls and asked for no parmigiana cheese. It came with the cheese. The salad we ordered didn't come until the main course. The seat in our booth was wet rhe pizza was terrible- tough crust, the gnocchi was very weird- large pieces that were tough. Service was poor. read more

The food was above-average (reason for 2 stars instead of 1), ambiance was nice, but the service was so lacking that the experience was actually comical. Our server was clearly not happy to have been given our large table (or he just hates his job). He was brusque and impatient from the very start. When a problem with the checks arose, the manager on duty (5/5) was incredibly unhelpful, unconcerned, and unprofessional. One member of our group is actually a manager at an Italian restaurant, and without her intervention, we would have been waiting much longer than the HOUR+ that it took for us to get the bill straightened out. We will always remember this dining experience - but not in a good way. read more

To paraphrase Nick DiPaolo, I think if you took a real Italian here, I'd be wise to check under the car before starting it the next day! This is the sub-Olive Garden, only more expensive. We went early on a Friday with a large group. Service was good and timely. The bruschetta was fine, but the sourdough bread was lifeless and not crusty. No one was impressed with their entrees. The butternut squash lasagna was creative, but too sweet and heavy. The carbonara had tough ham instead of tender pancetta. But the worst was my Margherita pizza. The cheese has rubbery instead of hot and melted. The fresh cherry tomatoes were drowned in dressing. And the crust seemed like a pre-baked Boboli. I didn't know you could still get a non-deliciously thin and crusty pizza at an Italian restaurant. If you want to get a salad at a beautiful restaurant, this place might be OK. Otherwise, avoid. ALLERGY WARNING!!! I called ahead to verify they had gluten free and dairy free options. I specifically asked if there were multiple gluten free and dairy free options. I was tile there were multiple options. We arrived at restaurant to find there really was only gluten free noodle and red sauce. Unfortunate but no biggie, we will make due. We Oder gluten free noodle for our children to get them some food right away. We are brought a plate of noodles and chicken. My wife asked, as always to verify they are gluten free, the lady confirms yes they are. 5 minutes later after my kids have eaten some our server comes back and with a horrified look tells us those are not gluten free noodles. She apologized and was did a good job otherwise. No apology from management. Not even a discounted or comped meal. read more

First, I will say we live in the Sandy area and do go to Toscano on a fairly regular basis as there are not a ton of decent restaurants in our area. The food is probably 4 star, but there are a couple of cautionary tales. First, the mixed drinks (specifically their martini) is the smallest in the State of Utah (which is saying something). It doesn't come with an olive and when you order it "extremely dry," it still comes with an over abundance of Vermouth. This has happened multiple times. Their other cocktails follow suit (best to order wine). The second cautionary tale comes if you have a party over eight people, as the gratuity is included. The servers KNOW this and they give you the quality of service one could expect from a guaranteed tip. read more

We went for our anniversary. We had a great meal, great service and great food! The atmosphere was awesome too!

We had a reservation for 12 for 6:30. When I made the reservation I was never informed that there was not separate check options for a large party. We were only asking for two separate checks. I understand that multiple checks can make things difficult, but two checks doesn't seem like a burden. The burden was on us, spending time calculating the amount owed and Venmo around the table. We began ordering our meals. With each order placed the waiter asked soup or salad? Never once was it mentioned that was extra !! In all of my experiences dining out the proper statement would be "would you like to ADD a soup or salad" therefore indicating an additional charge. Having not experienced a salad being offered before, my daughter asked "is this include". The waiters response was "we do it for larger parties". My daughter asked again if it was included. He responded with "it's not free" .. no clear understanding of cost. My daughter declined the salad, but others at the table (new to your restaurant) that did not ask, assumed it was included based on the waiters remarks. He was clearly trying to inflate the bill as much as possible! We ultimately had $42 worth of salads added to the bill we did not need. We also were charged a splitting fee that was never disclosed!! And completely unnecessary. If this if how you train your staff, it's very unethical!! Clearly you won't split checks to inflate and include gratuity. You offered poor service since gratuity was already included. It is very under minded offering soup and salad to inflate the bill. The waiter seemed to know exactly what he was doing getting the bill higher than expected, and seemed cocky about it. The bill was over $500 !! And the experience was not worth that. We walked in on a weekday to a near empty restaurant and they asked if we had reservations which was odd. The ambience is pleasant and the food was amazing and well presented however our server took awhile to do everything. Over 5 minutes to get our water, waited till everyone had finished eating before asking about dessert and it was asked in a funny way. I asked for no straws at the very beginning and we were brought straws. Maybe the server was new? I ended up having to ask the manager to get our check because we had spent too much time waiting. The waiter was bored to tears and did not engage us other than bringing us the food. Ah, the food...the fries...not worth $10. Go to Cubby's you'll get better fries for a cheaper price. Our meals and the bread they brought her basically tasteless, but edible. Needless to say, we did not stay for dessert. The ambiance was nice but rather confusing. This restaurant is having an identity crisis. It's Italian and yet it has signs in French and pictures of France. Ontop of that, it's not clear whether this is a fancy restaurant or a sports bar. Hire a new manager and do not plan your events here! You will be nickel and dimed for everything, and after the night is over you'll be left with a hefty bill & a very dissatisfied experience. The manager Amanda Wybrow over promised & under delivered not to mention was very unprofessional when we tried to provide feedback regarding our experience. We were charged for serving our own cake ($2 per person mind you) since the promised extra servers were nowhere to be found. Charged $200 just for the room but couldn't use the speakers without an additional $100. Linens for each table extra charge. Totally ridiculous. A very important family event with a group of 32 guests and only ONE server. 1 person to refill drinks, grab napkins, review order, slice the cake.. endless tasks. Lots of waiting and empty glasses. Not once did Amanda check in with our party. I actually went out to the main floor to ask for refills because poor Ricardo was busy getting orders out and multitasking as best he could given the large group size. No complaints about Ricardo. He was AMAZING! I don't plan to ever host an event here again not because it's overpriced, but because your management team did not deliver on what was promised then refused to acknowledge our concerns citing the cliche response "Sorry, that's not my problem." Unacceptable. I left a star since Ricardo was the highlight of the evening. read more

We ate here twice during our 7 day ski trip. Sunday evening at the start we had the place nearly to ourselves and sat at a booth. The wife asked for a very dry Vodka martini. The waitress made it, I could see it from where I sat. It wasn't dry, alas. But this never a surprise. I stuck to a Salt Flat Amber Ale. Excellent. From there we had excellent side salads. I forget what my wife ordered - a danger of writing these things a week after the event - I had the Rigatoni Bolognese. It was excellent. We returned here mid-week. The Bar faces an open window with a spectacular view of the Wasatch Range. So we planned on sitting at the Bar we could soak up the view after a Blue Bird day on the Mountain at Snowbird. This also gave my wife the opportunity to instruction the bartender on how to make a proper dry martini. (For the record, pour some vermouth in the glass, swirl it around, dump it in the sink and add the chilled Vodka). After her second (I just nursed a single Salt Flat Brew), we decided to eat here again. Side salads of course, along with a Margherita Pizza. It was excellent. We left content, and will return when we visit SLC again. All three of the places I reviewed today were conveniently located near the Residence Inn, Sandy. Great Ski deals to be had, and the Inn was also convenient to Big and Little Cottonwood Canyons. read more

We had reservations for a Monday night at 6:30. We were 11 minutes late due to an Uber issue. Restaurant called us as we were walking in to see what was up. The place was dead so not sure what our tardiness was going to impact. Sending a server home maybe? They tried to cram 6 of us at a small table. We requested something larger. Waiter was knowledgeable about alcohol. We started with calamari (chewy) and shrimp cocktail (5 pieces - avg. size). They were out of the soup of the day, one special and asparagus. Maybe you need to eat dinner at 4:30 to catch the full menu? Dinners ranged from chicken dishes (small and dry), steak (under seasoned), and pasta dishes (ok). Cracked pepper was offered after I pushed my plate in. Small details were missed everywhere. Everything is just "ok" here. For the price I wouldn't return. read more

The manager came out and told me "it was a perk" for those customers. I said that I wanted the same "perk" as the other customers. I asked if they paid extra for their meals. No, it's a perk for dining in. When you pay $30 for a subpar pasta dinner shouldn't you receive the same treatment as the "dine in customers"? This is the second time this has happened. You would have thought I would learn that this restaurant doesn't want my business. Charging for "take out" bread must be the way the owner pays for his Ferrari, parked out front. Lost a couple stars. 3 of us were here on business again and came in to have a meal. The receptionist last night only stared at us as if we walked into a meeting we weren't invited too. I spoke the first words, she never welcomed us or even said hello. When I said hello her first words were "do you have a reservation?" We said no. She replied "you'll have to wait". Acting as if this was some exclusive restaurant. We decided to stay considering we come here on every trip and enjoy the food. 20 minute wait was no problem we simply enjoy some drinks at the bar. We noticed 4 women that came in and the receptionist treated them the same, they turned and left. As for our meal it was great, Matt was awesome, I'm back in slc next week and will likely come back despite this one poor employee. read more
