If I could do zero stars, I would. This was the worst experience for it being a "fancy" restaurant. We had a reservation and when we arrived there was no host, we sat down got appetizer and the server didn't pick up after so we could get our main course. This place always delivers!! Delicious food, quick and great service, and definitely worth every cent!! The Mediterranean appetizer was super tasty. It comes with a ton of seasoned bread and the parmesan salsa (middle dip) was my favorite for sure. I also ordered the four cheese pizza again because it's just that good. My husband tried the lasagna this time, and it did NOT disappoint!! The amount of cheese and sauce they add to it is insane and makes the lasagna taste that much better! The only negative thing I can think of is that their gelato machine is currently broken, and has been for a month. Hopefully it gets fixed soon, because I'd love to try it! read more

Toscanos is a must! Best pizza in the state. I had the Marsala pizza. It was the best thing I have ever eaten! The creamy cheese, slices of mushrooms and truffle oil... oh and crackery crust are out of this world! My husband had the BBQ chicken pizza and was just right. Not too much of this or that, everything super great and so tasty! Do deserve good food like this! I promise you won't be disappointed! Come for lunch to save a few bucks. The lunch pizza (slightly smaller in size) was $10 compared to $17 for dinner. We have been here a couple times and have tried a couple different pasta dishes; happy every time! I had lunch at Toscano with my mom on my visit to Utah last month, and it was delicious! They had a respectable wine and beer menu. I really enjoyed the local wheat beer I tried. Service was friendly if a little forgetful. The bread was fresh and delicious. My chopped salad was delicious; it was a great combination of ingredients, tasted fresh and had the right amount of everything. My mom's dish looked great too. Great choice for our mid-week date night meal! We arrived just before the dinner rush and we were seated immediately. Not much of a greeting at the front but we got a nice cozy corner table next to the greenhouse. Our server was attentive, checked in several times and provided good service throughout the meal. The 4 star rating is mainly for the food, mixed review but overall pretty quite good. - The table bread missed the mark. It was warm but not wrapped so it got cold in 3 minutes. The bread itself tasted generic. Also we expected better than packets of whipped butter. Any good Italian restaurant really should have some table olive oil and herbs maybe. - The crab cake appetizer was just ok, a little bland actually. There wasn't much of a breading or crust so it kind of fell apart and it was served with a tiny drizzle of sauce. I'm from the east coast so I might have a preset idea of what crab cakes should be. These just weren't it. But I do appreciate that the crab was real and tasty. - The salmon caponata entree was pretty good, quite interesting with the different flavors. The salmon was cooked nicely and tasted really fresh. The mashed potatoes and sauces and veggies all came together really nicely. Though looking at the menu again there was supposed to be pistachio and basil though I didn't really get those. If you put all the components into a single bite it's pretty darn tasty! - The surf and turf penne was really good! 4 large shrimp and a generous amount of tasty Italian sausage. The vodka sauce was spot on and extra points for the perfect al dente penne. Yummy! I would order this again. We finished our meal with a couple shots of espresso, which was very smooth. An Italian brand I think called Illy. For the price I think Toscano delivered for the most part. A few opportunities to improve but that won't keep us from coming back! read more

My daughter and I had a mostly terrific dinner here last night. Toscano has a beautiful building with nice sky views. There is a bar area that looks quite nice (I didn't go in). We were seated in a high-backed booth that felt really private. I had a glass of the quite good house red wine and my daughter had the blueberry lemonade, which was excellent (and comes with refills). We shared a trio of Mediterranean Dips that were served with really good woodfired pizza dough brushed with oil and garlic. I had a house side salad, which the waiter brought in advance of the meal--not sure whether I liked that or not. Then I had an interesting salmon dish called Salmon Caponata. The salmon was cooked PERFECTLY (I asked for it rare) but it was accompanied by mashed potatoes and a tomato-based sauce, which just tasted odd with salmon other than that it had a few capers in it. My daughter had an absolutely AMAZING Butternut Squash Lasagna. It was served as dinner but honestly could have been dessert. So rich that really one bite was enough :) The menu said it had a brown butter sage cream sauce but the overwhelming flavor was nutmeg. The positives: - The music, lighted trees, and lighting. - The Salt Flats hand sanitizer on the tables and for sale--completely unscented and not one bit sticky. The flavored lemonades and full bar with an emphasis on seasonal local beers. - Most aspects of the food. The negatives: - The salad and salmon were supposed to be made with kalamata olives but instead were made with those terrible pre-sliced canned olives that taste like metal. I considered asking the waiter about it but...I have to assume the restaurant knows they're not using the right olives and thinks we won't notice? The food would have been much more enjoyable with salty kalamata olives or just left them out and told me they'd run out. - There are some big paintings on the walls: they clash and don't support a specific theme of the restaurant. It kind of throws the whole vibe off. - The restaurant closes at 10pm on Saturdays. - The waitstaff don't look as professional as I would expect at "The South Valley's finest dining experience." However, we did get our water refilled several times, so they're attentive! read more

The restaurant is very pretty and has a great atmosphere. The service was quick and consistent. We ordered the fried pizza dough (5/5) definitely recommend, it comes with a white and red sauce for dipping as well. The Caesar salads were very good looking but somewhat underwhelming, no negatives though. (4/5) we ordered the chicken Marsala and bolognese. Both were very underwhelming. (1/5). We also ordered the creme brûlée which was excellent. (5/5). Overall it wasn't bad but it's certainly not worth the price tag. read more

We go here quite a bit. We always love the carbonara. We've tried carbonara at other places and nothing compares to theirs. I had the special swordfish and risotto. It was so delicious. The best risotto I've ever had. I keep looking for it on the menu again since it was the special and I constantly crave it. The kids portions are a good size. My kids have enjoyed every item on the kids menu. They also love being able to go look at all the gelato and pick out their favorite. There is seating that's in a greenhouse type feel. Green, flowers and little water fountains make a great atmosphere. The inside has a lot of booths which is always nice. Service is always good. Food comes out quickly. read more

I came here for lunch takeout. I got spaghetti with meat sauce and a side salad. It was $30!!!. Food was okay, sauce was thin and didn't stick to the noodles. The portions were not huge, and it didn't even come with bread. Even with the restaurant's markup for overhead and profit, this shouldn't have cost more that $15-$18. We all know what it costs to make spaghetti. This was a total rip-off. The host who took my order was pleasant and attentive, and the restaurant is sort of pretty inside. We had heard great things about Toscano and were excited to try it. The restaurant is in a good location right off the freeway on the Draper and Sandy border. Ambiance is nice. Service was great. I ordered the chicken parmesan and hoped it tasted as good as it looked but I was disappointed. My dish lacked flavor and the chicken wasn't top notch either. For the price of this place, expectations are higher. Despite my dinner being just ok, the tiramisu dessert was delicious and easily 5/5! read more

We went there tonight May 26th we had a reservation at 5:30 we asked for a booth there wasn't more than 10 other tables occupied. The hostess was annoyed the table had just been cleaned and was still wet we asked for a napkin to wipe down the seats and she seemed very put out We asked to share spaghetti and weren't told that there was an up charge (which was fine except it would have been nice to know). The pizza was limp and the dough seemed old. The salad didn't come until the main course which we asked for it before hand. We asked for parmigiana on the side but it came on the meal. Delicious! This is our first time here. We pulled up at 6:30 on a Friday night expecting to have to wait for a while but they got us right in. We ordered chicken tortilla soup (weird for an Italian restaurant), a wedge salad, spinach and cheese ravioli, and a 3 meat pizza. Everything was very good! As we were eating we noticed one of the bar tenders walk out to the patio and clip some fresh herb and take it back to the bar. I'm assuming it was mint or something. But good to see that they grow their own herbs. Very fresh! We also ordered a New York cheesecake and a CARAMEL LAVA CAKE! YUM! The staff are all really nice and the service was fast. The atmosphere is perfect here, not too loud perfect for an intimate meal or a girls night out. Service was quick and friendly. Food... it was good but most definitely not worth the price. The brioche appetizer, by far the worst I've ever had. Maybe if the toasted the bread but it was stale and had old bacon bits on it. The pizza dough Parmesan bites were very tasty light and fluffy. Sauce was delicious. I got butter noodles and grilled chicken, fine but not worth 25$! I love this place!! This is not my first visit and it won't be my last. I've not been disappointed by frequenting this restaurant. I hope to not ever be. I absolutely love the ambiance. It is never too loud, but quiet enough to know people actually converse. The hostess was a little "off" today. However, no Matter, our waiter ,Adan, was fantastic. He was attentive, but aware of the conversation and was respectful. He didn't awkwardly insert himself at moments , but stopped by frequently to check on us. I was throughly impressed at his gauging of timing. We sat at the table for quite some time (I am VERY aware of the money one might lose when cud do this and compensated him well), and yet no one rushed us to get out of there. Truly great good, awesome ambiance and perfect service. This far, every time. Remains a favorite of mine. read more

I was here in Nov '22 and it was excellent. Ordered the fig and prosciutto pizza. Delish! The sweet of the fig jam with the salty prosciutto was fantastic. Flash forward to July '23. What a disappointment. I started with a Capt. Morgan and RB. The RN was flat and there was a stale taste to the drink. Server apologized and me a CM & DP which has a bit more fizz to it. For dinner i ordered the fig and prosciutto pizza again. After the first piece, feeling like i was missing something, I started poking around. NO PROSCIUTTO! I let my server know that i didn't think there was any on the pizza. Without a word she ran to get the manager. He looked into it and sure enough the kitchen had left it off. He brought me 2 side dishes of prosciutto to sprinkle on the pizza. My server was much nicer when she came back to the table. I think she realized i had a legitimate issue and I wasn't just a complaining customer. I will give Toscano another chance when i come back in Oct 23. read more

1. You get smacked in the face as soon as you walk in by their hand sanitizer. Huge display is the first thing you see. Super tacky. 2. The first thing you see on the menu is their rules and fees. Again, super tacky. 3. I ordered my entree ($27 for a chicken breast) and was asked what kind of salad I wanted. Turns out it was $6 extra. Really sly strategy since they made it seem like it was included. Overall, this was a good experience. The atmosphere and facility is comfortable, clean and large. The service was spot on. Our host actually plans his visits based on a servers shifts. Places that have that kind of staff are usually a good choice. From a good standpoint - everything was pretty good - not life changing, but a decent meal. The menus os large but limited. Odd that a place at this price point doesn't have a steak on the menu (at least one we could find). The Italian dishes were average to good. The apps were interesting and enjoyed. All in a decent cavalier and a really nice atmosphere. - here is why 3 instead of 4 stars - they make or just sell hand sanitizer. / it is on every table and the first thing you see when you walk in. Most of us ordered various pasta dishes, along with either house or Caesar salads. I had the house salad ... it was okay. Mixed greens, some feta, olives, cucumbers. I ordered the primavera with chicken and the chicken was way way over cooked and very dry. The veggies in the primavera were either over cooked (like the squash and zucchini) or under cooked and crunchy (like the carrots). The service? It was ... okay. All in all, just an okay experience. We all agreed we would not dine here again. Not because we had a terrible experience, but if you're going to the effort to have a date night and get a babysitter, it's worthwhile to make sure your meal is superb! read more

Last week in Utah and was invited to a dinner here and would have to be a hard pass next time. I will say chicken Parm itself was decent. Pasta was plain and nothing special, lacked sauce. Parmesan bites were worse than school lunch foods. Tasted like chewy tasteless bread heated in a microwave. They even screw up calimari here. Fried and flavorless. Onion soup was ok and at least had some flavor. They do have live plants and feels like it could be a good restaurant. Staff was not attentive and has to be constantly reminded of the same requests multiple times. They acted very put out when reminded but didn't follow through. Expensive as if you were at a luxury Italian restaurant. Sad to say but I'd go to Olive Garden 10x over before returning here, and I don't do Olive Garden. read more

This was our first visit here and we were aware it wasn't an upscale restaurant but we expected a bit more. Although we really liked our server (he was the best part of the dinner), the ambiance and the bread, the rest was mediocre. Diavolo was too garlicky, primavera had few vegetables and bland sauce. We were rarely checked on, and it took time before they even noticed I was trying to get their attention in regards to my dish I'm bummed since I took my wife and daughter out for what should have been a special dinner date. I took my grandma here for her birthday on December 8 and was really happy with everything. We both ordered a side salad with blue cheese and were both really impressed with the quality of the salad, the taste, the amount of dressing, everything. The garlic bread that came out before our meal was so, so good. I'm not sure if the butter was infused with garlic, or if the bread was infused with garlic. Whatever it was, it was amazing. I ordered the chicken alfredo, and my grandma got the pesto. My alfredo was decent, but kind of on the oily side more so than the cheesy or creamy side. I was more impressed with the salad and the bread than my entree. I also was surprised to have dark meat chicken in my alfredo. It wasn't necessarily a bad thing, I just have never had dark meat in my alfredo before. I had a bite of my grandma's pesto, and it was really flavorful as well. I loved the ambiance of the restaurant. We sat outside, which was decorated for Christmas, and dimly lit. There is a waterfall, and it was just lovely. The pace of our meal was great, too. Never too long between courses, or too short. Our server was very attentive and enthusiastic, but he didn't hover at all. I would definitely come back in the future for a special occasion, as this is outside of my usual dinner budget. And next time, I'll save room for dessert. Visited here for the first time a few weeks ago to celebrate a milestone in our marriage and the food was great! We got the fried parmesan dough ($12) for our appetizer and my husband was OBSESSED with it and we both got the fettuccine Alfredo ($25 each) for our meal with chicken and it was super good.
