The Ridge Cafe had a face lift! It's now called, Royal On Ridge, and it's serving deliciousness in the SunCrest neighborhood of Draper. Not only did the restaurant get a makeover, but so did the menu. The food was okay! I would argue it's about the same quality as what the old kitchen was serving but the menu is completely different. My breakfast sandwich was comically large. The pancakes -- heavy emphasis on "cakes" -- were so sweet. The hollandaise on the Benedict and the potatoes were seasoned well. (They "ran out" of ketchup so that was a bummer.) Everything was good but not necessarily something to write home about. The environment is the star of the show! Well decorated, great seating, and beautiful views. I hadn't been to the Ridge Cafe since before Covid, so it was fun coming back to see and taste the changes of ROR. For the views alone, give Royal On Ridge a try. read more

Cute little restaurant tucked in the middle of a neighborhood. The furniture and decor are so fun and classy. The service was good. We went here for a book club brunch and were well taken care of by our server. We had a reservation and they had our table all ready and seated us immediately. The food wasn't my favorite. Which is why the three stars. The mini donuts tasted mostly like grease -- between a table of we didn't even finish them. The breakfast croissant sandwich was huge, but the bacon wasn't at all cooked and all four of us that ordered it sent our bacon back to the kitchen to be cooked more. The potatoes looked amazing, but I didn't think they were that great. Everyone said their food was fine, but no raving reviews. The best thing ordered by our table was the Goat Cheese appetizer. This was yummy! Highly recommend. Overall, won't be making the drive for this place again. read more

I had made a reservation and my party of two was seated promptly. The service was friendly and accommodating. As I read the drink menu I saw mimosas available with guava, orange, or pineapple juice. So I asked if I could have a POG mimosa, all three juices together like you get in Hawaii. They were eager to accommodate, and even checked back to see how it came out. With another shot of guava juice it was excellent! The food was served promptly after the drinks. I ordered the Royal Fries (regular fries with bacon, cheese, chives, and their special sauce). They were great. My entree was the Chicken Pot Pie. It was delicious and piping hot. We skipped deserts and asked for the check. We also asked to use our 10% Yelp discount coupon we received for checking in. After checking with the manager, we were told that they could not accept it. Why do they offer it and not accept it? So the food, and the service were very good. Good enough to want to go back and try some other menu items. Will I go back? Probably not, since they participate in the Yelp discount coupon program, and then they do not honor it. That is why I give them 2 stars. read more

We decided to stop in and eat here on a trip in the area. Firstly the drive is wonderful and beautiful with fantastic views. Secondly the restaurant was so cute and clean and reminded me of Colorado. I loved it so much. The food was incredible. The Brussels sprouts were our favorite. The service was quick and the was so sweet and took great care of us. Royal on the Ridge is up the hill in Draper, it's a beautiful drive up and the views are spectacular coming down. It's a classy restaurant nestled in the mountain, it' was a perfect date night spot! They have many yummy cocktails to choose from and SMALL BITES, the Ridged Baked Brie is screamin The wood fire pizzas are a hit and we tried the Blanco Ravioli with shrimp and the Ridge Chicken Pot Pie . Both were good I would recommend the ravioli's, they were my favorite. I'll definitely be back to try that Wagyu steak. We got a giant gorgeous chocolate cake for dessert. Came here for dinner with a large party. It was freezing cold and they sat us on the patio because they claimed they had another large party inside. However, when we got ready to leave there was ample seating inside so they could've sat both parties indoors. There were also several times where we had to go inside to get the servers attention because she barely checked on us. Tucked up in the mountains is a beautiful little neighborhood café-and I had the opportunity to visit it recently with some friends. They had discovered it and recommended we meet there for dinner, and I was happy to go along. It's a small place, with an even smaller parking lot-but once you get inside, you're transported to a magical café. It is kind of what I would picture if you got to go inside the Keebler elves' tree. To make it even better, there was live music playing-local jazz musicians. The mood was terrific. The food was also great. I enjoyed a pizza made in the imported brick oven and my wife ordered a sandwich. We shared an order of fries as well. My favorite part of the evening wasn't the beautiful views, the delicious food or even the great live music-but it was the service. Our server took good care of us and was so kind and welcoming. I felt like he might have been the owner and was treating us as his special guests. (That was not the case, but he made us feel that way.) I hear they have a great brunch. I came here a few weeks ago with family, I WANTED so bad to like it! It has everything, beautiful views, a great menu and atmosphere...but the service is downright TERRIBLE. The staff are all young girls and inexperienced, they all look fresh out of middle school. They were not accommodating at all when we asked to move tables due to noise and the server hardly greeted us or recommended anything at all. And the food was nothing to write home about. This place was an experience! My oh my. The ambiance, the live music, the service, the food, the coffee, it was just a perfect combination for a great outing. I was visiting Utah and introduced to Ridge. Definitely want to go back. I ordered the breakfast pizza because I've never had wood fired breakfast pizza before. It was so good! Even the leftovers tasted amazing. My friend got the Benedict. While that was good in its own right, the potatoes were the star of that show. Crispy and topped with tasty alfredo! The Benedict could've used just a little more hollandaise as it felt more like a glorified egg sandwich rather than a Benedict. We ended up ordering a side of the hollandaise and that was a delicious sauce. Ended up using some for the pizza too. Overall this was a great experience and I'm looking forward to returning my next trip to Utah. read more

Didn't realize they had live music on Thursday nights. It was a nice surprise and made the outdoor ambience that much better! The service was attentive but not very friendly. We shared the beet salad but swapped out the honey mustard dressing for balsamic dressing and it was tasty! We also shared the peak pizza. Both were delicious. Hard time with this one. We've been going to the Ridge for 8 years, it used to be a vibey cafe and market. Coffee, mimosas, huevos rancheros and the option to buy eggs. Perfect. It's been turned over a few times and we just went back under the new name "The Royal" (everything still says the ridge). The food was ok, both meals lacking seasoning. See pics of chicken pot pie and meatloaf. We also had two wedge salads (pretty good) and two diet cokes. After a 20% tip we were at $95. Just disappointing. This place is a hidden gem. We swung by here after we had a sweet downhill biking session on levitate. The service was great, the view was amazing and the food was tasty. Well this time the food was really great but the service was unusually mediocre. When your server keeps having to say "sorry" throughout the meal you know there is a problem. We had to ask for water refills and even after that she was not attentive to refills. The people that brought out the food didn't know who got what. Could have been the timing of the meal or just their own preparedness but I was way impressed with the service. We had our drinks within a few minutes and our food was only a few minutes behind that. Great setting and atmosphere and the food was apparently one of the best Alfredo Alisa has ever had and my margarita pizza was incredible with the addition of some balsamic vinegar. This place is awesome. Just earned a spot on top 5 restaurants. It just recently underwent new management. The new owner/manager is such homie. She has made crazy changes and it has turned the place around. We walked in with a party of 8 during peak hours. Place was packed and they could have turned us around and told us they are too busy but she pushed 2 tables together and got us in. She also threw on cake for a bday. The atmosphere was great. The food was priced at really decent prices considering the area it's in. The food tasted good but the service was another story. The server seemed perturbed with some of the people at our table and made no effort to hide it. The place looks nice and we went for brunch so maybe they were just busier during that time but even with a reservation, you may end up sitting at a bar, so maybe let them know ahead of time you want a table. The place looks fancy and its def got a scenic feel to the place as it's located near a literal ridge. The name is also confusing because they are called Royal on Ridge on their current website, but their doors and building still have the older name on it. The location is fantastic, especially if you're there when the weather is good as you get a great view, clean mountain air and the beauty of Utah's amazing mountains. But the food was just okay. I would recommend you get the sweet potato fries over the normal fries, as everyone at our table who got normal fries had fries that were incredibly salted. The sweet potato fries, however, tasted great. Our party got various dishes, including sandwiches like the chicken parmesan and the brisket, salads, burgers, and pizza. Overall, in a blind taste test I would rate the food as average to above average, but when you're spending the kind of money you do at the ridge, you expect something a little more unique and it's flavor profile, something a little more than a typical burger or over-salted fries. read more

After finishing a good morning hike, we were starving, and decided to check on Yelp for a place to eat close by the hiking trail. We decided to go to "The Ridge". When you walk in, you actually order at the counter, and they will bring out your food to. I ordered a hamburger well-done, no cheese, and a cup of their House coffee. I went to fill my coffee cup but the coffee pot was empty. I told them and they said okay, but didn't do anything about it, luckily there was another extra coffee pot, but the coffee had been sitting around for several hours, and was lukewarm, and was very thick. Our appetizer came out in a timely manner. We ordered nachos, it came with chicken, black beans, cheese, tomatoes with some kind of alfredo sauce. I had a hamburger well done, no cheese. I quite enjoyed the hamburger. The salad that came with it I couldn't eat it because of the dressing that they put on it was not good. I went to get another cup of coffee and noticed they had gelato. Several different flavors at $2.95 a scoop. I thought that was a little pricey so I decided to forego the gelato. If I could give a 0 stars I would. PLS DO NOT GO! I thought I was prepared for the bad service and the long wait after reading the reviews. Oh boy, were we wrong! Nobody came to take our orders until one hour after we've sat, another hour for the food to come -- 2 hours total to wait for 2 drinks, 5 brunch dishes. When food arrived, they got 3 dishes wrong! So disappointed to have to provide a negative review of The Ridge, especially being a Suncrest resident, but after giving it several opportunities, we have made the decision not to return. Here are just a few examples of what we have experiences: Ordered for take out for lunch, waited 45 min in the lobby, before they finally realized they forgot my order, despite only having a couple of tables occupied, and my two kids and I literally sitting right in front of them. Dined in the restaurant, where we were seated by the hostess, and 20 minutes later, still hadn't received water, or seen any wait staff. Half of the menu wasn't available, and the beef tacos were just beef fat, no meat. The menu, hours, and store options are constantly changing (and this was even prior to Covid) Ordered take out again last night, the kids cheese pizza was burnt, and the $12 meatball small plate amounted to 3 dry meatballs, cut in half, no cheese and about 2 tablespoons of sauce underneath. The only redeeming quality was honestly during Covid, where they offered family meals. We tried the lasagna and the Chile verde, and both were really good, good portions and reasonably priced. However, they no longer offer those. I am not one to write reviews, but after several disappointing encounters, felt compelled to provide feedback. read more

It's been a couple of years since we've been to The Ridge, and it took some convincing to come back. But I'm glad we came around. Last time we visited (like 2017?) the service was glacially slow and the menu was lackluster. Well, they sure have turned things around. We ordered delivery (Thanks COVID-19), got our order in roughly 30 minutes and everything was as it should be. It wasn't just that. The blanco pizza was delicious. The flavors were exciting, but not too complicated for our kids to enjoy. I liked all of the elements together. Well done! And then there was the chicken sandwich. I ordered 2 Ray's sammies because I knew my husband wouldn't want to share, and the thing is... I wouldn't have wanted to share either! I wolfed the whole thing down. This might be on the top 5 list of chicken sandwiches. Great toppings, awesome flavor, tender chicken and great spices. I'm happy we gave the ridge another try.
