We were really looking forward to eating at BASTA because we had heard great things. The pasta was overcooked but it was decent. The pizza was also good but very mid tier and the service left a lot to be desired. Unfortunately we were trying to use rewards that we had but they would not let us redeem them. We then ordered and paid then sat down and after they had brought all our food the workers came to our table and told us we didn't pay and had to go pay again, we even had an email showing the transaction but they were very rude and kept telling us to pay again. We then had our meal interrupted twice more by the staff while we were eating asking if we were waiting for food still which made it seem very disorganized and they also were not very polite about it. They seemed to be angry with us which made the whole experience pretty unpleasant. read more

This place is OK. We enjoyed the fresh pasta, the crispy chicken, and their pistachio shake. Their portions are good and we liked their caprese salad. However, their sauces tastes like they are straight from the jar; the menu is simple, but lacks variety at the same time; and it is pricey for a fast casual restaurant. Started off with some extremely dry flavorless bread and a little bit of olive oil with balsamic... But they didn't give us hard. Chase that with a Caesar salad that was equally flavorless, with croutons that were unimpressive. Not crispy... Small... And the dressing was nothing special at all. Had three pasta dishes... A vodka pasta, some carbonara that was really weird and that had an almost a mustard-like flavor and some Bolognese. We were a party of four, and none of us liked any of it. This was my first time here. I ordered the Amatriciana pasta. It was delicious and the pasta was perfectly cooked "al dente". I really liked the sauce which included nice pieces of pancetta. All I knew about this place was that it looked like they made their own, fresh pasta so the carboholic in me wanted in. This is a fast, casual place where you order up front and then they bring you the food. Lots of other things are self service, like to go boxes, napkins and condiments. I really like this approach because I would rather just go grab stuff myself when I need it. Service was friendly, attentive and better than I would have expected for this type of restaurant. But the food. OMG, the food is incredible. Perfectly cooked fresh pasta with an excellent chew enrobed in rich, flavorful sauce that hangs onto the pasta like a clingy ex. I appreciated the large, fresh basil leaves on top and generous shower of high quality shredded parm. My SO also ordered a pizza sandwich thing with gorgeous, tri colored cherry tomatoes and some kind of salty, cured meat. It was fantastic as well. Basta has some of the best food I've experienced at a fast-casual style restaurant. The pasta is made fresh and is cooked al dente. We ordered a pizza, and two pasta dishes with pappardelle. One with pomodoro sauce and one with norcina sauce (cream sauce with sausage). This sauce was definitely the best. The pizza was great too. The issue I have is that it was expensive for for portion size and if you want to add a protein like chicken to your pasta it will set you back an additional $10 just for the chicken making the dish about $28 for a restaurant that you walk up to order. This seems too expensive to me. My pasta also tasted doughy and several strange were stuck together in thick clumps that did not have a great feeling in your mouth. If I were to go back I'd get the rigatoni pasta which would eliminate that clumping thick taste and order the creamy sausage sauce. We also ordered meatballs which were good. Overall I gave it three stars due to the expense vs portion size and clumpy pasta. read more

I had no idea this place was a relative of the amazing sicilia Mia! The pasta is so tender and fresh tasting, which is surprising for this fast food environment. The price is definitely reflects the quality of the food. I like my arancini's a little less breaded, but they were still flavorful. Surprisingly the pizza was my favorite. My love of BASTA is real and it's deep. I'll start with the people because that's the first thing you'll encounter (aside from the amazing aroma). Every single person we met was so great. Friendly, happy to make a recommendation, and just really good humans. Then there's the food. Did we order too much? Absolutely. Do we regret it? Absolutely not. It was my first time trying this place. I do love how it's all handmade and fresh. The inside is smaller than I would thought and we couldn't get a table right away because of our bigger group. We tried the fettuccine alfredo. The sauce was bland and not flavorful. I asked for a side of marinara which I added and it made it better mixing the 2 sauces. We got the margerhita pizza which was good. We enjoyed it way better than the pasta. We tried the olive oil cake and it was decent. It's also really expensive and the portion sizes are pretty small for what it costs. If I'm going to spend a lot of money on food I'd like it to fill me up and not leave hungry. The pizza was the best value. It was cheaper and more filling. I would maybe like to give this place another try. read more

We were out and about on Saturday and decided to stop in a try Basta Pasteria (because unfortunately they're not open on Sundays). My son wasn't too excited for anything on the menu as they don't offer pepperoni as an option, however my husband and I decided to go with the Rigatoni Amatriciana and Pappardelle Genovese then convinced my son to try the calzone. The focaccia bread, with olive oil & balsamic, is served complimentary to the table with your meal and was delicious - although it is tipped with olives. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals, my son living the bread of his calzone the best. It is a bit pricey and there are a lot spicy options (I am not a spice fan), but I would definitely recommend trying Basta. read more

This was my second time back at Basta. My coworker recommended this place awhile back and boy am I glad! If you know the Italian restaurants, Sicilia Mia and Antica Sicilia, this is basically like the lowkey version of those. Such great Italian food for a lower price than those fancy restaurants. They have a sort of club/outgoing vibe going on inside. Lots of music and cool art. You order at the front and then they'll bring out the fresh focaccia bread, drinks and food. The focaccia was great, who doesn't love some bread before their meal. I ordered the SORENTINA Gnocchi and it was super yummy. Came with cheesy mozzarella balls and a yummy pink sauce. My boyfriend got the vodka pasta which was also delicious, he finished his whole plate. Located right at fashion place mall. I can't recommend this place enough! Every single meal I've gotten there has been absolutely delicious! The service has been nothing but amazing and one time my boyfriend and I sat by the owners of the restaurant and we didn't know that at the time and they heard how highly we were talking about the place and they ended up giving us a free dessert! The servers are also very nice. The place is super super cool. The longest I've ever waited for my food was about 10 minutes, which is insane as you would think it would take them hours to prepare the food for how good it tastes. It's new so I believe they all have the experience so the kinks will get worked out. First, I hate tipping before service and you do that here. It was loud, they had a love DJ, I could barely hear/understand the cashier. We ordered: Caesar Salad Bread Spaghetti Chicken parm. Total was like $60 Cesar salad was super good! Possibly one of my favorites, minus having to cut the large pieces of lettuce. The table we sat at was very small and crowded with all our plates. Bread is pricey but large soft pieces. Spaghetti amazing! The chicken parm fell short. It was their special and it literally just two large pieces of chicken. No noodles. It needs noodles! Just two pieces of meat and that's it?! I was surprised it was not placed on top of noodles or have noodles on the side. It was $18 so I would assume it would be dressed up a bit more. Still good tho! I had to add some of the spaghetti noodles from that plate and it was great. I'd go back for sure! Their pizza looks amazing. read more

This counter service restaurant has a lot of service, so tip generously! Brandon provided lively and attentive service. Orders are placed at the counter and brought to your table with drinks, water, focaccia and oil/vinegar. We had a margarita pizza, and Cacio e Pepe pasta. The pizza was huge for a single-serve; aromatic, chewy-crusted, and delicious. The past was beautifully plated (forgot pics prior to digging in), rich and delicious. We sat outside where the chairs were comfortable and the tables clean. As the location is a bit tucked away, traffic and other noises were minimal. The ambiance inside is lively with loud music and fun energy. Tables were prepared with pepper flakes and grated Parmesan. I highly recommend Basta for pizza and pasta! read more

Went for lunch today 3-2-24 and an awesome experience - lots of parking - located between Nordstrom $ Macey's - lots of parking since it's near a mall entrance! The service people deserves a 5+ rating - you order & pay at the counter but they bring your order to your table! They will bring water & cups & refills to your table and offer needed silverware! We came for an early lunch but discovered they just changed to opening a hour later at noon! No problem they were as kind & apologetic and allowed us to wait at a table & even offered water ! I got their lunch exclusive- calabrese focaccia- A focaccia sandwich filled with spicy salami tomatoes mozz cream - very very yummy and can't wait to have it again! It's only served until 2 pm so come on early to try their lunch specials! Everything looks so good - we'll be back for more great service & yummy food. Basta offers a variety of authentic Italian dishes -- pizzas, pastas, calzones, focaccia, etc. There's a fair amount of seating available inside, though tables are smaller, so it might not be best for larger groups. I thought the gnocchi sorrentina was fantastic--the sauce was out of this world, and the gnocchi was cooked very well. The staff was friendly and checked in on us throughout the meal. It's an interesting concept for a restaurant because the menu and ordering process makes it feel like a fast casual type restaurant, but the dining experience feels much more like a regular restaurant, and that might contribute to the prices (which seem to be slightly high for a fast casual restaurant). I'd probably return again to get more pasta and try a calzone, which sounded amazing. read more

It is part of the antique Cecilia and Cecilia Mia Restaurant group and the food is the same quality as they are five star restaurants but you can get it in a quick order, sitdown, dining environment. This place is 5 out of 5 stars. I've eaten here 10+ times and every time the food and service is amazing. #1 dish is the cacio e pepe.... hands down. I usually get it with chicken on the side and it's enough for both the wife and I. We've taken many friends here and it's a toss up between that and the pizza as #1. The pizza's are amazing. You can make anything gluten free as well. Gnocchi is amazing. The bolognese is bomb. Calzone is really good. Special note: the Caprese is a little spicey for my liking. I give the food here 5 stars but the service 3 stars. My husband and I came here for a date night, and learned this place is much more of a casual dining experience than a formal / standard restaurant. Upon entry, you're greeted with an overhead menu above a row of cashiers waiting to take your order. (They also have menu pamphlets you can look through instead.) Once you order your food, you're given a table number to place on whatever table you choose to sit at. The reason I give this restaurant's service a 3 is because the food took a really long time to arrive, and when it did, it was what many would consider "cold" and our appetizer was brought out with our entrées which kind of defeated the point of it being an appetizer. By the time our food eventually got to our table, everything was completely lukewarm. I personally like my food to be on the cooler side, but even this was too tepid for me. My husband prefers his food to come out hot and fresh, so he was really disappointed about how obviously long our food had been sitting out for. We were confused as to why our bruschetta appetizer came out at the same time as our entrées. As previously mentioned, it took a pretty long time for our food to arrive, so it would've been nice to have our appetizer to munch on while we waited for our entrées instead of sitting around waiting with nothing except our drinks. While the service and food temperatures were really disappointing, the food itself was delicious. For a comparable price to other restaurant's bruschettas, where you're typically given a few slices of bread, you get an entire pizza here. The tomatoes were perfectly sweet and the garlic really came through. It was delightful and tasted exactly how bruschetta should taste. My cacio e pepe was creamy beyond belief! I loved that the pepper was light and didn't overpower the dish. The pasta was clearly high quality. I would absolutely order that again and again! My husband also loved the way his food tasted. He got a side of shrimp to add to his pasta, and he's glad he did. He just couldn't get past the room temperature of the food. He didn't want to have to wait all over again, so he just dealt with it. To be clear, the food here is amazing. There wasn't a single thing we ate that we weren't satisfied with; taste-wise. We are absolutely willing to give this place another try on a more casual night out or perhaps to go instead of dining in because the food is so good.
