Donuts
Elise M.

Everyone in Hingham told us about this place, and for good reason! Everything we ordered was incredible. I loved the lemon and ricotta ravioli and complimentary breads. We also ordered the donuts for dessert and they were good but not quite as good as the after dinner mint or cherry cake desserts looked. Service was fast and friendly and I really liked the slightly formal atmosphere.

Every thing was good. The ambiance, waitress, drinks, food... I am so impressed. I look forward to returning to Tosca

Shrimp in a Box

We picked Tosca to celebrate an anniversary and it exceeded all expectations. We reserved a table for 7:30 on a Friday night and were seated in the middle of the dining room quickly after walking in. The dining room is expansive and open, with views of the kitchen, brick walls and large wooden beams running across the ceiling; it was a cozy place to be during the night. Our server came over to us a few minutes after being seated and brought over a basket of bread and olive oil with mased chickpeas which was devoured within minutes. We decided on the 'Box of Shrimp' appetizer and I ordered a ribeye special and my partner ordered a lobster pasta special. The appetizer was fried shrimp and fried vegetables on a skewer, and came it came on a bed of arugula with a addicting tartar sauce. Our entrees arrived just after we finished the appetizer and the ribeye was cooked perfectly and was covered in a demi-glace that complimented the meat well. The roasted carrots and mushrooms on top of the steak were delicious and there was also a fried potato pancake. The lobster spaghetti had large chunks of lobster, with a buttery and slightly acid sauce, and the texture of the house-made pasta was great. After polishing off our entrees, our server was extremely impressed and brought over a

A Piggy Back Sour

On a recent super-hot and steamy Sunday, we took visiting friends from 'interior Pennsylvania' to Plymouth for a Whale Watch. In other words, despite living in Eastern Massachusetts for more than ten years and being a frequent visitor to Cape Cod for more years than that myself, it entirely slipped my mind that the traffic back to Metro-West from Plymouth on a late Sunday afternoon was going to be, well, not good. So, we decided to follow a shore route north and (consulting Yelp, of course) look for a good dinner stop along the way. That stop was Tosca, which I had bookmarked on Yelp either because someone recommended it or because I had read something favorable about it. Once we were in the door and smelled all the great smells from the open kitchen and saw the very comfortable setting with upscale decor and white tablecloths, we already knew it was a great decision. Our party included a mix of seafood lovers and seafood 'no thanks,' and Tosca has something for everyone. Drinks: Tosca has a very cool craft cocktail menu. Our group ordered a BEE'S KNEES (Four Corners American Gin, Citrus Honey Syrup, Fresh Lemon Juice), a CABANA BOY (44 North Nectarine Vodka, Cointreau, White Cranberry Juice), and a PIGGY BACK SOUR (Whistle Pig 6yr Rye, Simple, Fresh Lemon Juice, Egg Whites, Muddled Peaches). The fourth person found the perfect beer. As a side note, I ordered the Piggy Back Sour. I hardly ever order house-special cocktails. I usually find them too sweet, and I like my Manhattans and Martinis. But this drink sounded appealing because I like peaches very much, so I asked the waiter to ask the bartender to go very easy on the simple syrup. They did, and I loved it! I had two. Appetizers: For the seafood lovers, we had a dozen local (Duxbury) oysters. For the other folks, we ordered the fried green beans special. Everyone enjoyed their appetizer very, very much. Entrees: The meat lover among us had the VEAL SIRLOIN PARMIGIANO | $39 (Fired in the Wood Oven, Tomato Sauce, Sliced Munster & Mozzarella & Roasted Broccoli). The pasta lover had one of the specials: Mushroom Ravioli (it's not on their website menu, so I can't tell you more about this one). The first seafood lovers had the FENNEL CRUSTED SEA SCALLOPS| $41 (Avocado Puree, Spring Vegetable Medley, Confit Tomato, Toasted Chorizo). However, while the dish included fennel, the scallops had no crust, which suited her just fine. I'm also a seafood lover, and I had the PAN-SEARED ATLANTIC COD | $39 (Leek & Spring Pea Risotto, Caper Lemon Sauce, Frisee Salad). Once again, everyone LOVED their dishes! Dessert: Just kidding. We were much too full for dessert. But the dessert menu the waiter insisted on leaving did look awesome. I'm thinking about another trip to the Hingham near dinner time.

My boyfriend and I love Tosca! It's our favorite spot the staff is friendly and the food is delicious. Best steak I have ever had. We went for my birthday just so I could get their Wagyu. Would definitely recommend!

Chicken "Under A Brick"

We were considering Tosca for the rehearsal dinner the night before my son's wedding in December at Red Lion. So we decided to go there for dinner with my son and his fiancée and sample some of the dishes offered in the package. It was an awesome experience. We ate in the same wine room where we would rent it out for our 33 people and have it to ourselves for the rehearsal dinner. It's a beautiful room with a private bar. Everything we tasted was great from the first bite and we shared all the dishes... so we could try everything. We started with the entrée size Lemon Ricotta Raviolis, which were delicious. Also had Chicken "under a brick", Wild Boar Bolognese, Angus Sirloin Medallions and Veal Sirloin Parmigiano. We got to meet Pat, the GM, and everything tasted so good, and the service was great, so we knew this was the place for us. We are so looking forward to a great meal and event. Can't wait!

No need to go into Boston for a lovely meal!!We made a reservation via OpenTable for Valentine's Day & were seated right away. For drinks we got wine & an old fashion. To start, oysters, so good. The bread comes with a bean oil dip which we devoured. For our meals we got two specials. I got the lobster tortellini & my partner got the veal chop with gnocchi and Brussel sprouts. For dessert the toffee cake with carmelized pecans; amazing. Our server was amazing. The restaurant was not too loud. Everything was perfect from start to finish. We will definitely be back!!

The food and service was great! Best caesar salad I've ever had and the gnocchi was incredible. Can't wait to go back again.

First review in a long time but this visit to the Boathouse Bistro really inspired me…read more We've been here a few times in the past for hosted birthday parties and only had the pizza, which is an amazing thin crust neapolitan type! We choose the Boathouse Bistro after a long walk yesterday at World's End. A gorgeous hike. First, the Bistro is covid/safety compliant. Sucks to have start a review like that but, hey. They have outdoor seating, weather permitting. We sat inside. Too windy. The vibe is casual but nice and bright with lots of windows. Tables are limited right now. Our server, Teresa, was very friendly as was her Mom, Tinka. She owns it with her husband Steve McCauley. Great people. Four of us dined. I had the short ribs with mashed. My wife had the mussels in white wine and a bowl of chicken soup. My friend had the spicy sausage and his wife had the Mussels in white wine with a side of linguine. We all started with the Calamari. Bevs were red wines, sangria and Jameson (that's me :) Everything was perfect and could not have been better or fresher. The calamari were lightly fried and extremely tender. If calamari are chewy, they are not fresh (and might not even be calamari. Look up fake calamari! Better yet, don't). The calamari were cooked with banana pepper and served with a smokey cream sauce. I wanted a bowl of it and a spoon! I do lots of braising (my Osso Bucco is to die for), and these short ribs were perfectly, fall apart tender. The mashed were creamy, buttery and delicious in a light gravy. The mussels were also fresh and tender and the chicken soup resembled a hearty tortilla soup without the tortilla chips. Delicious. Food and 2 rounds of drinks was about $200 with a generous tip. I was told they also have take dinner packages. I wish I lived closer. Try the Boathouse Bistro! You'll be happy you did.

Since WAHLBURGERS HAD THE BEST LOCATION POSSIBLE! It must have been the busiest Food Truck at this Festival since it was next to the Entertainment Tent where great things happened I saw lines of hungry people! My usual stop was here at WAHLBERGERS AND LO AND BEHOLD, what did I notice..... Paul Wahlberger was missing at the grill, this time because of a previous engagement BUT, not to worry.....great food and service were still being served for the hundreds by my photo I took of his replacement.... My apologies I forgot his name! I usually never do that! Yet, this now Iconic Green WALHBURGERS FOOD TRUCK IS NOTICEABLE FROM GREAT DISTANCES! As soon as was walking toward the Event on Coddington Street I saw the Truck and a smile came across my face that a would be hot burger with my name on it is waiting! Thank you WALHBURGERS for participating in this extraordinary celebration by The City of Quincy and Mayor Thomas Koch and his staff! Go grab a Burger and Enjoy!

Great First Experience!…read more This was my first time visiting Wahlburgers, and I really enjoyed it! My husband had been before, but this was my introduction, and it definitely didn't disappoint. The restaurant was clean, welcoming, and decorated with photos and memorabilia from Mark and Donnie Wahlberg's movies, which added a fun touch to the atmosphere. Our waitress was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. The food arrived quickly, piping hot, and everything was cooked perfectly. My husband ordered Our Burger Smash, while I went with the O.F.D. Burger. My burger was juicy and flavorful with perfectly cooked beef, melted cheese, crispy bacon, and a soft brioche bun that held everything together beautifully. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his burger as well. We also shared the Loaded Tots with the spicy sauce, and they were outstanding! Crispy tots smothered in a creamy, spicy sauce, topped with bacon, green onions, and a drizzle of ranch--they were absolutely delicious and perfect for sharing. To drink, we tried the Wahlbrewski, and it was light, crisp, and refreshing, pairing perfectly with our burgers. Overall, I had a fantastic first experience. Great food, excellent service, a fun atmosphere, and reasonable prices. I can definitely see why this place is so popular, and I'll happily be back the next time I'm in town!

Very clean, comfortable, well lit and plenty of parking. Excellent service from the start. Greeted at the door and seated in a booth each time we visited. Wife and I visited 2 weeks ago after one shopping at the Shipyard. Looking forward to the pre-meal popcorn. Our waitress, Aimee, was superb. Attentive, friendly, polite, professional and courteous. 5 stars service. Ordered the Prime rib rare. Tasty and cooked to perfection with plenty of Au jus. Wife had the chicken salad. Fresh and tender chicken. Again visited last Wednesday with grandkid who wanted the favorite Mac and cheese as well as take advantage of "kids eat free day after a Red Sox win." Again service was 5 star excellence by our waitress, Erin T, who was attentive, friendly, polite, professional and courteous. Again food was prepared to perfection this time ordering the ground sirloin special rare and rare it was unlike most places servicing medium. Plenty of mushroom gravy. So good! Absolutely delicious. What's even better, 5 stars with budget friendly affordable prices. Highly recommend. Will definitely return to this 99 Restaurant very soon for sure.

It appeared we were the only 2 parties in that side of the restaurant, and there appeared to be one waitress working it. She was taking the other party's app and drink order. It seemed complicated, with lots of questions and clarifications back and forth. At one point the waitress looked at us and said "I'll be with you in just a moment." We said "no problem." She finished with that party and told us "I'll be right with you after I put in this food order." We say "ok." But she was gone a long time. She finally came back, with a couple drinks for the other party, talked to them a bit, then left again, telling us, again, she'd be right with us. Came back with 2 more drinks for the other party. And left again. At this point we have nothing but menus. No water, no popcorn, nothing. We're near the host stand, and I can see him, just standing there picking his fingernails. I'm thinking maybe he should pitch in if this one waitress is overwhelmed with this one other party. I keep nudging my wife, saying "let's leave and go somewhere else." She says no, so we wait. Finally, here comes the waitress... But she doesn't come to us! She goes to the OTHER party and asks "you ready to put the rest of your food in?" They don't even have their apps yet, and we have NOTHING after about fifteen minutes! We're listening to them order, and it sounds complicated again, things like "no pickles on it, but a side of pickles, please." We're rolling our eyes, can't believe she's STILL ignoring us after telling us multiple times she'll be right with us. But we figure she'll take our order right after she takes theirs, and we're ready. We know what we want and have no questions. NOPE. She walks away, saying nothing to us, after taking their second order. We got up and left. Nothing on the table but menus. Not even water. I told the host we were leaving because we couldn't get anyone to wait on us. If "I don't give a bleep" had a face, it would have been this guy's face. We went across the street to the Shipyard where we ordered food and alcohol for four, and wondered if the 99 waitress got a good enough tip from her one party to make up for the one she lost.
