Wednesday, 7pm, My son and I decided to grab torchy's tacos before we had handel's ice cream. There was only a couple of people ahead of us in line so it didn't take too long to order at the counter. They do have self-serve ordering screens as well, But for some reason my son wanted to order with the person. After ordering we were able to find a table pretty quickly, And our food came out within 10 to 15 minutes. I just found out that they no longer had that roots brand or local soda brand I don't remember the name. But now they use Coke products. But I always get the sweet tea anyways so it didn't matter. I also loved that they had some horchata available as well. Cuz I love me some horchata. And it is good. I just had a little though. It was so good I tasted it and I had it all packed to go but had to stay and finish it there cause it was too good to wait for later! when I went was the slow time around 2pm... so I got a table inside and was glad I stayed!! This has been my home torchy's for over 10 years and things have just gone downhill. The last time I went there we had ordered the meal deal for $20. This comes with 3 street tacos, 2 sides, 2 drinks; of the order the sides were missing. This was only noticed because my boyfriend and I were discussing getting another taco due to the size of the street tacos. He went back and placed the order for the tacos and to ask for our sides, they apologized (I understand we can forget something) and told him they would grab it and start the taco order. Once the tacos were done they called him up and gave him the bag. He got to the car looked down and noticed the beans were still missing! He went back and again they apologized and gave him the beans. Fast forward to today, we had been wanting to try the monthly taco and decided to get Torchy's for dinner. He went there, grabbed our food, and came home, he started asking me if I ordered any queso. I said yes I ordered queso, as for me this is the one reason why I keep going back to Torchy's. Yummy yummy tacos. Man not really much else to say. I got the republican which had jalapeño cheddar sausage on it and some other things. It was delicious although the sausage piece was too large and I would have preferred half the amount. It was just a large thick slab of sausage and made the taco hard to eat so I cut it down the center and took half of it out. Very tasty nonetheless. The bushfire was an awesome melding of flavors. Seasoned jerk chicken, roasted jalapeños, and yellow mango made for a flavor packed bite. But that Diablo sauce is hot, delicious and addicting. The fried avocado is a classic and so devious and simple with the sauce it comes with. Really really good. The margaritas were unfortunately the only disappointing part of our meals. My husband and I have been there a couple times, and even took our dog with us once bc they have pet friendly patio (thanks for thinking of the fur families!). The inside is on the smaller side which typically gets PACKED with people on busy days. But the tacos are also delish and the staff is always nice. Last time we went, they actually accidentally gave us someone else's order. When we alerted them, they told us we could just have it since the food was already set down in the table. I was sad to see there was not a bar at this location, pretty straight forward with decor, not as decorative or elaborate as the others. Still looks good though. I sat on the patio with nice views of trees and a cooling breeze. I ordered the taco of the month, Kingpin. Half an order of queso, half order of Mexican street and 2 beef tacos to go for my pops. The queso came out quickly and was as delicious as always. Followed not long after by the rest of the order. This Torchy's location is one of the smaller ones I've been to around town but they had the same quality of tacos as the other locations. Staff was friendly and our tacos came out pretty fast. The majority of their seating was indoors but they have a couple of tables for outdoor seating. A lot of the other Torchy's I've been to have a full bar but this one didn't have a dedicated bar, just had a few drinks to order at the counter. People that came in after us received food before us. We finally received our food & went home to eat. We opened our steak tacos and what resembled were burnt steak shavings. The taco meat didn't even resemble human food more like meat that should have gone into the garbage. we have dined at Torchys multiple times but have never experienced this in the past. We called to express our dismay, was told we would be credited, we have called every day to find out when we will be credited but it's been over a week & the credit still has not been applied.
