The first time I went to buenos sabores it was okay so I wanted to try it again. I will say their chicken tinga was decent. This last time I got the carne burrito and it was not good at all. The rice was bland, the meat had no flavor at all. I asked for a carne asada burrito and it was nothing close to it. Maybe I'm used to marinated carne grilled and chopped, oozing with delicious flavor, but this legit had no taste. Worst off I spent 17 dollars on a bland and tasteless burrito I ended up feeding to my cat and throwing away. I rarely eat beef and I was annoyed that I let that be my one cheat for it and that I spent so much for something that was just empty. There is no way the cost to produce that burrito was even in the 24% margin. Salsa was good though which is why it is two stars. read more

I saw this was a top 15 place on yelp in the country so I had to try it. It has much more than tacos but wanted to try the authentic mexican tacos. They were so friendly in explaining it as I wasnt familiar with the types of chicken but they were so tender and juicy, not dry at all. One sweet chicken and one regular with some jalapeno sauce. Had some seats nearby to enjoy outdoors vs taking back to your car. They were friendly again asking if i needed anything while eating with a smile. read more

I got the wrong taco and the 7 dollar queso and chips was a small size not a large queso. It was like 12 dollars for a meal that should have cost 8. The chips were pre-packaged not fresh chips. I guess it was ok for a food truck. read more

Let me start by saying that the street corn was great. If you are looking for good street corn spot this is definitely a good place for it. Unfortunately that is where the positive side of this review ends, thus why it is one Star. To start, we ordered 2 birria tacos, a pastor quesadilla, and two order of street corn and it totaled out to $23, which isn't bad. The problem was when we got the food and only got 1 birria tacos and 1 pastor taco. I asked the ladies in the truck about this is and they tried to explain to me that the pastor taco is the quesadilla, which obviously made no sense. They looked like they were more interested in getting back to their phones than helping us fix our order. They didn't want to correct this so I ended up paying $23 for 2 tacos and 2 small orders of street corn, which isn't even $15 worth of food once you get it in your hand. The tacos were average at best with burnt tortillas. The birria was dry and didn't have much flavor. This is definitely not one of the best experiences or food trucks I've had. I'm going to be completely honest and say I'm not sure why this truck is getting so many 5 star reviews. I've had better food and better service at just about any other food truck I've ever been to. There is something special about a restaurant/food truck that truly cares about the food they make and the customers they serve. We have been driving by this place since they day they opened and finally decided to give it a shot for lunch. When you walk up, you are greeted by the owner/chef and another gentlemen with an incredible smile and an eagerness to serve. As someone who has a tough time picking items on a menu because everything looks great, this place was perfect. They instantly offered to explain the menu and even offer SAMPLES of every item. We ended up getting the carnitas bowl and carnitas torta. This is not your typical torta (at least not like one I have had before), but oh my. It was jaw dropping good. So much flavor that it was nearly impossible to drop. To finish it off, we tried the mango ice cream and I think I might go back just for a scoop of that. WOW! I drive by this wonderful food truck all the time, but have never stopped until today. First of all, the owner is the most humble, nicest lady you'll ever meet. I told her that I had never been here before and needed help ordering. She gave a detail description of what was in the bowl. That it was rice with jalapeños and chips, I chose the poblano chicken. I also got a taco. Which was a wonderful street taco, that came with 2 corn tortillas. Chips came with the bowl too, and they were homemade. Very fresh, and very much like an authentic restaurant. This food truck amazed me totally. Superb food, and wonderful personality from the owner. They do offer camping type chairs to sit in and I do believe there are picnic tables as well. I haven't explored much taco spots in Austin yet, but THIS IS MY FAVORITE TACO SPOT SO FAR!! The service was incredible, they were so nice, and took the time to explain to us the different meats they had. On top of that, they gave me and my boyfriend a sample of EACH of the meats. The spicy queso and the poblano chicken bowl are ON POINT. Austin is competitive- there's a great taco bowl around every corner. But what makes Buenos Sabores stand out (in my humble opinion) is the flavor profile. I don't know if anyone else is this picky, but I feel like nothing is worse when part of a dish isn't seasoned to compliment the rest of the dish (aka no one bothered to season the rice base of the dish.) What impresses me the most is that I can tell this rice was as thoughtfully prepared as the meat was... meaning it was seasoned perfectly to compliment the meat. The chips are also yum too. Wow. So, I was throwing a party, and wanted to get some taco fixings for a crowd of 20 that ended up being 60! Anyhow, I googled around and found Buenos Sabores. Amazingly, I did everything online to get the order going, exchanged terrific emails with the owners and then came party day. I picked up pounds of carnitas and poblano chicken. Marisol then asked me, how come so few tortillas? So, I didn't have a good answer, like these days, you never know with people and tortillas. I had her throw in a dozen more for good measure. How's the food? Unreal. So good. Your party guests will cheer! And I have some advice for you. When Marisol asks about tortillas, do not hold back! My guests polished off 50 of her delicious tortillas (both in corn and flour), and then we busted out a lame package of heb tortillas, and they were gone too! The carnitas were just so flavorful, moist and perfect. The poblano chicken was so special, chicken, corn, chiles... the combo... if only there were leftovers!!! Look, you have spring parties, Easter, graduations, mother's day, etc. on the horizon. Get your order in! You will never forget this one!
