Which you end up sucking up through the straw. The chocolate lava cake is good. It's moist, soft, fluffy with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Server was nice. I think a football game was on tv. Let me start by saying the staff was great. The hostess seated me outside where I wanted, they quickly brought me chips n salsa, I ordered and my drink was fast too. The patio was packed so the staff was busy so I understand how they could think that this is about them but it's absolutely not! I love Mexican food. I assumed this would be amazing. I was in Texas so how could it not. However, I took one bite of the Colby jack stuffed enchiladas from the Maggie frowned. It was trash. The sauce was gross. Fellow uppers and foodies..... I don't normally do this typically I have 5 to 12 pictures of food P*** but this time I don't. We had a birthday from my sister-in-law party 10 on the patio plus my son was there who was 16 months old so there was a lot going on.!! As for the food, everyone ordered majority fajitas and enchiladas however, I ordered the à la carte tacos and if it had a taco after the name, I ordered it! Flour pressed tortillas in house, Carnitas with the onion and diced cilantro and a green jalapeño crema sauce, spicy chicken taco with cheese and pico, chicken fajita taco with sautéed onions and bell peppers and your standard beef, taco cheese, and lettuce and pico!! Not gonna lie for the best tacos I've ever had and the tortillas are like 8 inch so these are man-made tacos! Well, woman made also just saying the freaking massive!! As for the service just as fantastic, our server handled multiple tables at one time while making sure drinks and beverages full appetizers around spot, as well as making sure all of our food came out ! This is a very average family style Mexican restaurant, not bad but not great, decent food, though nothing fancy. However, they recently raised their drink prices into the stratosphere! $14 for a Mexican martini made with margarita mix??? $23 for their top shelf margarita? Ridiculous. Their drinks were nothing to write home about to begin with so we stopped ordering alcohol with our meal. A shame, really. Pro tip: Maudies in Westlake is not far and they have far better drinks at better prices - $7.75 for regular margaritas and $9.75 for their top shelf. Half price compared to Flores! read more

Came back to give this restaurant another try. I was pleasantly surprised that this time there was flavor in the food and the salsa had some heat. My wife once again got the fajitas which were good the last time so nothing has changed. I tried something different and got a plate named after somebody that included Two oversized flautas they were more like burritos with spicy chicken stuffing, cheese and Ranchero sauce. They were very good as well as the rice and Charro beans. The problems that we ran into previously had all seemed have vanished. All except the girl upfront when you walk in she was still on the phone when we got there, she was on the phone when we left and I don't think she ever got off the phone from the last time we were here five months ago. Saturday 11:30 am I walked in and was greeted so quick with chips and salsa. I wasn't even seated yet and they appeared. Amazing, huge, hand made chips. The salsa just the right amount of heat. I ordered the queso and it had actual flavor. Not just a runny mess. It was thick with spices, bell pepper, onion snd just a few jal for the right amount of spice. My waiter was really slow and seemed like he was always too busy for me. Luckily the really sweet girl next to us was on top of it. I ended up tipping them both which I shouldn't have to do. I still gave 5 stars for her beautiful service and the food is honestly that good that I just hoped I would normally get someone like her next time. This guy almost ruined my whole time but thank god for Mariam, she could really save a business and get someone to come back. She deserves a raise. The drinks are really good and prices are fare. Stopped in for lunch with a large group today. The food was good. The server was very friendly and did a good job of taking care of our large group. The reason for the three star is the gratuity added to the check. I understand large groups normally have an automatic gratuity usually, it's about 18%. This place added a 25% gratuity to everyone's check. Calculate it out our server made over $60 an hour. I've been a server and a manager but this was excessive. read more

A friend recommended we try Flores Mexican Restaurant. She mentioned the soup was very good. I decided to try the shrimp cocktail which was delicious with lots of shrimp drowned in a flavorful red sauce and topped with a good amount of avocado and cilantro. It was enough for two people to enjoy as an appetizer or one person as a light meal. Then I customized my enchilada to be carnitas with mole sauce (I am not a fan of chicken enchiladas). The waitress happily made the substitution. The mole had a wonderful flavor with just the right hint of chocolate and plenty of cheese. First time trying Flores and it didn't disappoint! Went on a Saturday at 3pm and sat outside despite the summer heat. They had fans blowing in the covered area. Our waitress and staff were excellent and perfectly attentive and helpful. My friend and I both ordered the carne asada which was exquisite. Chips and salsa served off the bat were very good too. Large chips and spicy salsa. We also ordered queso which was very good and also had a kick with the jalepenos in it. The food at Flores is always great, there is definitely a difference in customer service. The staff at the Four Points location is friendly and will go out of their way to provide great service which is why we keep going back there. The Lakeway location, however, is completely different. The few times I've gone in, the staff is not very welcoming and friendly, and act as if you had the audacity to interrupted a personal conversation. They do their job, but not enthusiastically and the gentleman that took my to go order definitely didn't go out of his way. Part of my order was two fajita tacos and I forgot to ask for a side of shredded cheese, and he looked irritated and said I will have to charge you the .50 cents. He actually charged my credit card the second time for 50 cents!!!! I mean, I know cheese is expensive, but losing business in more I believe. I'm never going back to that location ever again. They made me feel like an annoying child being scooted out of the house when I left. It's a very cramped space between the bar where you place the order and the front door. The house margaritas were awesome, very fresh tasting not the margarita mix type. The nachos were good as well! We ended up splitting the fajita nachos, would absolutely come back again! Feels a lot more "authentic" than other Mexican restaurants I've been to. My friends and I all got alcohol, and all our drinks were super strong. We did finish them, it just took a while. Their queso and chips are pretty great. The food was delish, just a tad more spicy than I was expecting. The prices are are slightly more expensive than chuys. We also got desert. My husband got tres leeches, I got flan, and our friend got churros. The flan and churros were good, the tres leches was lacking. This is the most sub par Mexican food I think I've ever had. Their fish tacos consisted of fish with a lot of onion and green peppers. No sauce, nothing. It was dry and completely flavorless. I will say their queso is pretty amazing and I do love their chicken soup, but I was really disappointed when it came to the actual meal I ordered.
