The Bubble Tea here is fantastic! I would go again just for the tea, but the service is very slow and leaves much to be desired. I came in for take out, not to sit down and eat yet I stood for a little over 10 minutes waiting for them to even acknowledge that my husband and I existed and were standing waiting. The staff is young so I guess it can be expected. The food is great and out of the ordinary for me and my family. the Bubble Tea is just wonderful and I kind of want to try all the flavors that they offer ( I tried their coffee flavored one most recently), but I don't know how often I'll return after that experience with the very long wait. read more

Love this place, I come here once a week for lunch because I crave it! Delicious gluten free options, my favorites are the empanadas, the pork, and the chicken tenders for my child, although I end up eating them, too. The Jasmine tea, TOPO tea, and the Hanoi coffee are delicious as well. read more

This new restaurant is far from being authentic Vietnamese. All servers are non Vietnamese. The menu is 100% English which should not be. The Vietnamese coffee was like water with no taste. I had what was supposed to be Vietnamese chicken noodle soup (pho ga). The taste was very bland lacking spices. As for the prices, they were above the average cost compared to real Vietnamese restaurants. One thing that really caught my eye, was no Asian customers. This alone says much about the restaurant. Went to Topo the other day with my husband and I'm glad to say there is another great restaurant to add to Hackettstown's list. My husband got the beef pho which was delicious and the best he's had so far. I got the hot pot with chicken and yellow curry broth. In terms of flavor an originality- I loved this, but it was the only down fall as it comes out and you cook it so it took quite some time. I would recommend the hot pot if you are with a large group and sharing because it's a fun idea, but not as a separate meal. The Topo sampler was delicious as was the bubble tea, which I haven't had since I last visited California. The waitstaff was super friendly and knowledgable and I highly recommend this for a fun dinner or lunch. Enjoy! read more

The pho was very good! They also offer different types of broth for the pho if you're into that but I like traditional broth. We also ordered the spring roll combo plate which had one of each type they offer. The coconut sauce they serve with the spring rolls was phenomenal! TOPO restaurant is a great addition to Hackettstown, NJ. There are no other Vietnamese restaurants for at least 40 miles! This restaurant is owned by Jay and Allan who also own the fusion Thai restaurant called the Pandan Room which is located around the corner nearby in Hackettstown, NJ. The Vietnamese food here is on par with the Thai food served at Pandan Room. It's slightly different from what you will find at most Vietnamese restaurants much like the differences in Thai food served at the Pandan Room. The pho soups are all large and very tasty from what I have tried. The ramen is delicious also and unique with ingredients like tofu and avocado. The summer rolls are great also and something you must order with each meal I must say. All of the booths inside have water dispensers attached to the walls which is convenient and original. There are also electrical outlets on the walls to plug in a hot pot for certain entrées which is interesting. Overall this place is a great restaurant with nice decorations, great food, friendly service, and fair prices. Get a big bowl of pho soup if you have never tried Vietnamese food before. read more

We just ate there Hackettstown sale day at the advice or our chef friend. Wife ordered the soup and said it was good. Then again she vomited up noodles that same night. I ordered from the special seeing all ingredients that I like: ginger, lemongrass, mushrooms and with the calamari option. The Calamari was like rubber. Could not taste my favorite flavors due to a thick coating of a very sweet brown sauce. We will never go back. read more

I wouldn't consider myself very adventure when it comes to food but when my friend and his wife come up to visit we usually try something different. Glad we came to this spot; the food was delicious and extremely flavorful. I shared a banmi sandwich, beef pho and a grilled pork platter with my wife. We devoured all of it and considering my wife is 4'11 and 90lbs that doesn't happen very often. We will definitely be going back to try some other things. read more

Heard about this restaurant from a friend who said it was good. Well I agree with some of these reviews that this is not authentic Vietnamese but a combination of Cambodian type food. Staff was confused and waitresses were disrespectful to the kitchen. Calling in orders, the phone line is always busy. The menu on-line does not match the actual restaurant menu. The noodles were not great quality and they used peanuts/peanut oil excessively (without disclosing - so if allergic beware). Overall very disappointing and will never go again. Maybe its the location/population served that some of these reviews laud it good. However, do not be fooled. read more

Topo is my favorite place to go eat!! My bf and I grab a bottle of wine from Shoprite Liquors and make a nice time of it. I usually don't order the same thing every time I go to a restaurant but here I do because I love the Pho so much!! I always get the yellow curry lemongrass chicken dumpling pho because it's so good and only $11 for a big bowl. I also love the taro loaf and the taro bubble tea. You don't find a lot of great Asian food in Hackettstown, Nj but thanks to Jay and company, the food at Topo is fantastic and delicious! Growing up with my Chinese parents making hot pot I was ecstatic to learn the food connoisseurs of Pandan Room were opening up a hot pot and bubble tea place. We sat outside on a warm July evening and ate warm-cold (perfect temperature for outdoor summer dining!) pho with thick pork slices, shrimp Vietnamese sandwich, and chicken fried rice for my 2-year-old. The iced tea with Tapioca pearls was just right (lychee flavor with green tea base). The portions were decent sizes and the prices were NOT expensive considering this is specialty food for Hackettstown. Wait staff was friendly and very accommodating remembering my sons name every time she came out :). We didn't get to try the hot pot since it requires you to sit inside but I'm looking forward to it next time. BYOB too read more

I was a newbie to Vietnamese food and this was not a good experience. I waited half an hour before being seated and the food wasn't that great. Because of the poor service I decided to only leave a dollar tip. The waiter came out to my car, knocked on the window and harassed me for giving such a low tip. They have really great food, but expect to wait forever and a day to receive it. My mother and I ordered soup and salad and we have been here two hours, and still waiting on the check. They need more than one server during busy times. If you have time to kill, go to TOPO. If you are on a time crunch, or hate slow service, avoid going to TOPO. Place is okay. I eat a lot of pho, there's nothing authentic going on here. Korean owned establishment with almost fast food style dishes. Pho was mediocre and the side of 'fresh' vegetables didn't have bean sprouts (just happened to be out... how can a pho place not have bean sprouts??). Alternatively seeing as they have no competition and are pretty much the only "Vietnamese" offering within 30 miles I guess they can get away with the sub par food and price gauging. Another great addition to the area. We went there on opening day. For starters, we had the summer roll and crab rangoon, both which were very good. I ordered the Pho and my husband the Shabu Shabu. We also had bubble tea which are always fun to drink with the boba. Both dishes were very good. The staff were so friendly. I love the fact that you had you own private "call" button at the table. We came here for breakfast on a whim-- we had the fried rice breakfast and the vegetarian shabu-shabu. Delicious! Service was a little slow/understaffed for breakfast but I think they are still working out the bugs. Presentation was lovely, the staff was friendly, the restaurant was very clean and cute.
