Food was average at best and a little skimp on the beef. Also had a little discrepancy with processing credit card. We have gone here twice now. After this time around I told my wife I HAVE TO leave a review. Walking in the service is great! The employees are super nice and actually smile which is refreshing. The restaurant itself is honestly one of the cleanest places I've been in and kitchens I've seen. Now the best part, the food is absolutely phenomenal! Both times we've gone the portions have been massive and delicious. Additionally, in my opinion you get way more than the amount you pay for. So if you're in the area and like Chinese food I recommend to anyone try this place out!! read more

I was in the area and stopped in for a small wonton soup to go. For the price, I was pleasantly surprised that the small came with 5-6 wontons, as I was totally expecting 2-3 based on experiences at other establishments. The wontons were great and the soup wasn't too salty. More of a to-go spot, but there are a few tables if you're wanting to dine in. Will definitely plan to give some other menu items a try at Hunan Wok. read more

Ok I'm a stickler when food is labeled pt or qt. The Quart Chow Fun container measures 24 oz to the brim. If overfilled it may get to 32 oz. But it was not overfilled. I've seen this as a trend in Chinese restaurants in the area. So Your Kitchen Hampton is the the better value for regular dishes. I loved the establishment under the prior owner a few years ago. But currently it's not for me with other options around. Had Beef Chow Fun and Chicken Eggplant garlic sauce. Chow Fun was loaded with beef, but dish is not a quart. Same with chicken eggplant garlic sauce. Both tasted on the sweeter side for me than expected. Egg Plant was Chinese eggplant vs western variety which is a plus. read more

The food is always excellent. While prepared on the portions are large. The owners are extremely gracious and friendly. The prices are more than reasonable and you could do worse going to many other places locally. This is by far the best Chinese food in the Hackettstown area. read more

Completely remodeled inside with new, expanded menu. Now offering Japanese, Sushi, Hibachi, Thai, and traditional Cantonese. Waiters still wear bow ties! Open everyday 11:30 am to 9:30 pm. Ignore sites that show it closed on Monday. read more

I have a sinus issue ( a cold) and was looking for a Chinese place that had Szechuan food. Hunan Wok was the only Chinese place open on a Monday in my area (Hackettstown). When I called, I asked if they could make my Szechuan food HOT! because I was fighting a sinus issue. They said they could. When my wife picked up the order the person behind the counter said that they included wanton soup (Chinese Chicken Soup) to help with my cold. They didn't have to do this. I think it was nice that they included the wonton soup to help with my cold. Hats off to Hunan Wok for caring for their customers. read more

This is the best Chinese food in the area. Everything is cooked consistently and fast. They have changed ownership a few times in the past ten years, but the quality has remained roughly the same which is great. I would highly recommend this Chinese restaurant over the Hong Kong Palace. The Pepper Steak with Onion and Singapore Chow Mei Fun are a couple of my favorites. read more

This is the WORST Chinese takeout place I've ever been. Does not even deserve to earn even 1 star. DO NOT go to this place or risk getting sick from their food. The Health department should be alerted of the food safety prep in this restaurant. The place is filthy, go to the toilets and brace yourselves for what you might see. Furthermore, the lady owner is nasty, claimed to know how to prepare bokchoy sauteed in garlic but gave me napa cabbage instead swimming in an oily, weirdly tasting garlic sauce. When I asked her what happened to my order, she replied "I don't care if you don't like it" but my point is that "you did not get my order right, lady!". The wontons tastes like the ground meat's been recycled from freezer burned ground pork that has been defrosted for a long time. If you live local, go to King Wok instead on Rt 46, they deserve your business better. read more

Truth be told, I read the review and doubted...I went and could not be more pleased. This is the best chinese food in Morris County by far. Everything was well seasoned. The mongolian beef, shrimp & broccoli, chicken and broccoli, shrimp fried rice all good. Also very nice people and great service. Had an issue with my daughter having an allergic reaction to the sauce in the Mongolian beef, but the cooks and staff worked with us on the telephone for 1/2 hour to figure it out. Turns out that the sauce they used had some nuts in it and my daughter was allergic. Fear what would have happened if they did not not communicate well. I greatly recommend this place. read more

Based upon the reviews here on Yelp, we ordered from this establishment. We ordered Pork Fried Rice, Spicy Shrimp, Beef and Broccoli and some Pork dish and steamed dumplings. We were told 15 minutes, It was actually closer to over 25 minutes. The Pork Fried Rice had no egg in it. The food was edible but devoid of taste. We won't be going back. read more

Pretty good. We decided to sit there to eat, tables were clean, very friendly staff and owners, food came out quickly and fresh. However, we did order a large pork lo mien, and it did seem like a pint. I'm sure if we ordered to go, there would have been more of that yummy goodness crammed into a quart container with more noodles. The only thing that really bothered us was the owners were ordering pizza for their dinner, since the daughter had a coupon. I'm sure you can't eat Chinese every night, but it did make me wonder ... I eat here once or twice a week. I mainly stay to Chow Mei Fun and Chow Ho Fun. Both are very good. The Chinese Food is the best I can remember having in recent memory. And I've been to the other one that is locally considered "the best". Hunan Wok TRUMPS that one. In addition, there is a pretty good dining size that can accompany a party. We love the broccoli and garlic sauce here! The best Chinese food in the area, hands down. My picky eating 11 year old asks for it nightly. I've avoided Chinese in the country after eating at Hong Kong Palace and SR in Hastings Square but this place, tucked into a strip mall is quite good. There are the nicest young men working there too. So friendly, efficient and the place looks very clean too. Reasonably priced for the area as well. read more

BEWARE. So I've been here a couple times before and dealt with the man who I assume owns this establishment and he is very nice. But this time I dealt with the lady and I called today to order a platter of fried rice and chicken wings along with a side of vegetables. I walk in to pick up my food and I was told the price which seemed a little high. Before I can ask about it the lady snatched my card of my hand and swiped it. I said no and opened the bag and see that she charged me for 2 different meals. In return I asked for a refund the second meal that I DID NOT order and she says no. Long story short I had to call the cops and even then she refused and only gave me half my refund. I am extremely upset about this that I had to call the cops and I had a 9 year old with me. She was completely rude and disrespectful and blamed me for going out of business. I would not advise going here not only is the service horrible but the food ended being horrible as well.
