I was super excited to check out this place after hearing and seeing so many great reviews about their other locations. The TL;DR version is service was definitely lacking but the golf portion is fun though flawed and, if you want to know the details of why exactly, read on. My group walked in because we weren't able to make a reservation in advance since they fill up pretty quickly. The man in front of the door said that the wait would be around an hour and a half (this ended up being closer to the truth) but when I talked to the front desk, the lady there quoted me 30 minutes for the 1st floor, 45 min for the 2nd, and an hour and a half for the 3rd. She asked for our preference and we said either 2nd or 3rd floor and decided to chill at the bar/restaurant (but more like a bar) while we waited. We asked our server, Joe, about drinks and he seemingly knew nothing about what was available and kept saying he would have to ask the bar. Part of this is understandable since the place is fairly new and he could have just started but what wasn't ok was his complete lack of followup. He disappeared for a while and we had to flag down another server to get him just to find out what was at the bar, mind you. I ordered a Macallan (which I had to point out was at the bar because he didn't know) and my other friends ordered a skinny margarita and an orange juice. The bar at this point has maybe 3-4 tables so it's not super busy but we waited for a LONG time to get our drinks. My Macallan comes and it's FILLED to the brim with ice cubes. He never asked me if I wanted it neat but you definitely don't put that much ice in a whiskey like that either way. Even after ordering food, I had to go ask the bartender if he had gotten our drink orders because Joe once again had disappeared. Turns out our drinks had been ready and were just sitting at the other end of the bar. Needlessly to say, terrible service already and we haven't even talked about the food yet. For food, my group ordered a Chicken Caesar Salad, the Buttermilk Fried Chicken Sandwich, and the Heatwich. Both the sandwiches were reasonably good considering the price point. The salad however was another story. For $14, we received what was essentially a cereal bowl of salad. You're paying for the convenience of having food there and the experience but neither of those things had happened so this was a complete waste. On top of that, we didn't get any utensils or napkins (this would be a reoccurring theme throughout the night). Joe never came to check on us despite definitely hanging out by the outer edge of the seating by the lobby (this appeared to be his spot to hang out and watch TV) so we had to flag down others to get anything. At this point, we had been waiting for our bay for over an hour and half because service had taken that long for 3 entrees and 3 drinks. I went to the front desk to check on our place on the wait-list and was told it would be another half hour. 40 minutes later, I asked again and it was still another 30. For those not keeping track, our initial time has gone from potentially 30 minutes to now over 2.5 hours. We finally got the text with our bay number after being told it was being sanitized. We go up to it on the 3rd floor and it is still full of the previous party's dishes and has not been cleaned. The server apologized (the first apology we got all night) and tried his best to clear everything and wipe down the table and touchscreen. We got set up at the bay with the touchscreen and got started playing. It quickly became apparent though that the big screen displaying our scores and ball count was not in sync with the touchscreen as it would sometimes register balls but sometimes not, with the touchscreen displaying different counts so our party had a hard time knowing if people needed to hit again. We ordered the donut holes with chocolate filling and drinks which took some time to arrive and again no utensils or napkins were brought out with them. The order also came with the Bavarian cream instead of the chocolate without any explanation. We pointed it out to the server who went back to retrieve the correct one but came back saying the kitchen had run out of the chocolate. None of this was communicated beforehand to him or to us so that just added to the general mess of service we received. The facility itself is impressive and, when the system was working correctly, it was super fun. The fact they provide clubs is also a nice bonus. If I do come back, I definitely won't be ordering any food or drinks and I'll come just for the golf as long as I have a reservation. read more

I've been to Topgolf a few times now, this was my first experience at the El Segundo location. The facilities are nice. Clean, comfortable, and just crowded enough to create a good buzz/energy without being overwhelming. The reason for the 3-star review is the service. My family and I were about 25 minutes into our hour reservation in our bay when someone came along and let us know there was a mix-up and we would need to switch bays because they needed ours for a bigger event. I get it, stuff happens. I've organized big events at Topgolf before, and I know the importance of all the bays being together. Okay, we're happy to move. But the experience of "moving" was a mess. The woman who gave us the bad news didn't really have any answers to my questions. Things like, which bay are we moving to? When will it be available? What do we need to do now? She answered everything with, "We're figuring that out now." Cut to me talking to our server (who hadn't introduced himself or offered us drinks/food even though we'd been there for nearly 30 minutes) who also had no idea what was going on. In the end, we spent 10 minutes milling around, waiting to be told what to do and where to go. At that point, it wasn't going to be worth the moving to a new bay, setting up there with payment, etc., so we decided to call it a day and leave. In the end, stuff happens, but how we handle that stuff is important. I'm not dinging Topgolf for the mix-up, but for the lack of organization and action once the mix-up was identified. read more

Bowling but golf, It's a wonderful place to learn how to play or even just get your swing on with your buddies. Much better than going to a golf range. But sometimes I want to reserve 3 bays next to each other and they won't let me unless I get their food service. The food here is almost the worst lol. I wanted to rent out 3 bays next to each other without food on a weekly basis but got denied. Only if they had at least Dennys quality food lol or even better let me book 3 bays without the food service. So I had to get 2 bays and reserve a separate bay away from each other. read more

The experience is really fun but the service, everywhere from the front desk to the bar to the server for your bay, is dismal. Way overpriced for the quality of the food and drinks. Done before or after and just spend your money on additional time to hit balls. read more

Really enjoyed my time here at a work hangout. Staff was great and super helpful. Drinks were good and the fried doughnuts are amazing!

I'm gonna keep it short and sweet. The staff is always impatient and they don't really care to help. The game is always fun and the music is decent. The food is overpriced and the serving sizes are tiny. I don't understand how you would pay $15 for jalapeño nachos and you get 8 tortilla chips. Honestly, they need to rethink their marketing strategy. read more

If I can rate this place a 0 I would. Top flight security's harassed me and my friends I had a drink in my hand the lame ass security that takes his job up his ass got my cup out the trash and smelled it and said I had been drinking who does that! That isn't your job to grab someone trash and accuse them of drinking so what if I was drinking before I got there it wasn't on your premises! I would never ever go back here again! read more

I had a great time at Topgolf. My friend made a Saturday evening reservation a week ahead of time. I would not dare come here without a reservation unless it was the middle of the day on a weekday so in other words, I would not come here without a reservation. We had a great time and the staff was very accommodating. It did take about an hour for our food to come out. They apologized and tacked on some extra time to our game play. I would avoid the food here. One order was completely burnt and was sent back and refunded. I had the spicy fried chicken sandwich. It was cold and very salty. The Caesar salad was the size of a side salad. We all agreed the food was subpar. I would still definitely return again with a group to play and enjoy their drinks. read more

Sent information 6/8/22: Today is 7/3 and have not heard anything so while I appreciate the PR of the message they sent in reply below, it was empty and nothing came of the email AND phone number I provided. Wanted to hold a corporate event there and discuss pricing for different packages, food options, etc. Had such a great time at the Vegas location, including delicious food and drinks from a bay with a swimming pool. So cool, right? When we called we were told that no bookings were discussed until 14 days before the event. When we called 14 days before the event, we were told that they were booked. How are you booking events when you do not allow bookings until 14 days ahead of time? In response, the person on my team was sent an impersonal email that did not give her an avenue to discuss her question or even discuss a different date. The company I work for is one of the larger companies in the LA area and I will be sure to tell everyone in my network who works here and does not work here about this experience. This is LA and there are so many ways to spend our corporate dollars including those that include other golfing experiences. read more

So fun! We came opening weekend and they were still working some kinks out but overall we had a blast. The place is huge and slick and has lots of games you can play so you don't have to be a good golfer to have a good time. Everything is generally on the pricier side but worth it for the unique experience. It's a good place to grab some drinks with your friends and hit some balls out in the fresh air. I would definitely recommend paying the $15 for an advance reservation because otherwise the wait can be upwards of 1-2 hours. read more

The sales department here did an excellent job with communicating and giving me a detailed event order experience. They are so on point it made me very excited for my event--kudos to them! I honestly am so disappointed in the service. Here is the breakdown: You pay a lot of money for an event for hosts at the door who would fail a shopper report right off the bat for just being straight rude: no eye contact, "reservation" --no welcome or smile, as if you're not welcome if you haven't paid them. Had to ask them several questions because even though I had a "catered event" they were not any help or even personable. The bartender was very sweet and alert. She greeted us and even though she was busy she told us she would be right with us. Professional, enjoyed her service. Upon getting to our bays we had a bubbly server, but cared more to get on your good side than actually deliver good service. I appreciate her personableness. However, paying for a almost $2000 event, with plates stacked up, not ONCE cleared, utensil to cut a cake that never arrived, server missing constantly and not getting drink orders for 20 plus min at a time bc "our system crashed", seeing the other "catered" parties that had happy birthday sang to them by the employees, but not our party was plain out embarrassing! On top of that, supervisors (red shirts) laughing with servers obviously seeing them lacking, but not once checking how the prepaid thousand(s) dollar parties are doing was a lack in leadership and management... The food wasn't as described & when the server was asked, the response was "I can't tell them how to make the food" I should have got what I paid for. I left so upset, my husband's birthday that I was looking forward to and paid for was honestly the worst experience and my guests were just as embarrassed as me. What a waste of money...never again. read more

This was my first time at TopGolf and it was much more fun than I anticipated! My group did a one hour lesson and I personally found it really helpful. Giving one star since there is no 0 star option. The front desk staff - 4 girls at the front desk. 3 just hanging out and talking. One girl at the register, operations manager at another register. To add, the staff wasn't presentable. We get told it is a 30 minute wait when we arrived - great. No problem. We'll grab lunch while we wait. Not a great idea. Food was mediocre. The wait staff literally kept overlooking our booth which was ironic considering we were in the middle of two other tables. You couldn't miss us. The waiter never came back to ask if we wanted more drinks - he never even brought us water we requested 3 times. We had to pretty much walk behind the bar to get our waiter to close out our tab. 2 hours later and countless trips to the front desk , we ask how far are we on the waitlist? the response : " it doesn't matter where you were on the list, we're hoping within 15 minute".. "cannot guarantee a time.. People keep extending they're time at the bays.." then what is the point of getting on a wait list?? Also, why are there are empty bays while we are waiting hours??? You are the Operations Manager, you should be able to understand the business and how to problem solve - you should at least know how to apologize to your guests. 3 hours later we gave up and left. Which is sad considering if when we arrived the staff said "hey it's looking like a 2+ hour wait.." we could've decided to leave and enjoy our Sunday. My suggestion - do not come to this location, do not spend your money here, do not spend your time here. read more

Heads up to everyone that you will need to wait a LONG TIME. We put our name down at 12:50pm on Saturday and they told us 4-5 hours. We came back 4.5 hours later and they told us it would be another hour. No worries at all, things happen. We ate a bit, checked in again and they said it would be another hour. So after waiting a little longer, we were told it would be ANOTHER hour wait because people are extending their time. I understand it's a popular place cause it's new, but they need to have a better system in place to keep customers updated. The reservation system didn't work when we tried a week ago and the online estimated waiting is NOT accurate at all. Perhaps putting a time cap on how much people can extend would be a good solution. It would have been fine if they told us it would be at least three hours by the time we stopped here in the first place, but we wasted our time sitting here thinking we'd get to our bay in an hour, only for it to be extended constantly. 3+ hours later, still waiting. read more

I can definitely say I enjoy topgolf often. It's a really fun place to hang out. If you're trying to do something with a group of friends kick back and just have a good time now, I will say they can be pricey. So I always tell people you should be looking for Groupons or credit card deals or whatever and wait times can be absolutely ridiculous. Whatever you think you're going to wait. You're wrong, especially on the weekend. Holy cow now I will say as far as food and drinks... I really don't suggest them. They're not very good and I've been there a couple times and they are consistently. Not that great. The only thing that I've tried that is fine is maybe the chicken tenders and their fries but like burgers nachos stuff like that think movie theater quality and work with that assumption but a lot more expensive. I would say at best play golf there and eat or drink somewhere else. The food and drinks are just not worth the cost unless like you're going to have a shot to get drunk and not for the flavor also, the service is 100% of coin flip. I've gotten some absolutely amazing people at your individual bay and I've gotten some people that are pissed. You came in today so I would say 50/50 shot on who you get read more

I have never played golf my entire life w the exception of mini golf trying to get the ball thru the windmill or in the alligators mouth w no luck. With that as a preface, my 1st time here was with my company during a team outing event and I gotta say WOW! Super fun, absolutely amazing and have wanted to go back ever since! Now I know it can be real intimidating trying something new and having an epic fail at it but after a few first swings, I really started to feel the groove and it's nice to have the staff come around to give me helpful tips on my form, types of clubs to use, and as the event kept going, my score got better and better. This place is awesome, especially if you're w a group of friends. Works similar to a bowling alley where you have "lanes" and add people to the scoreboard. This is a great place to hang out and chill or just practice your golf game! Stays open late too! read more

First experience. Everywhere we looked was clean and well maintained. The staff was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. We got there about 3 on Friday afternoon and were given a bay immediately. The bay host was attentive and patiently explained everything. The food was pretty much a bar menu with a variety of beers, cocktails, burgers and such. Food delivery was swift, however the food was just warm and pretty typical...meh.... Bring your clubs...Golf was a blast. The games were challenging and a lot of fun. The balls fly differently than usual range balls...if youre a golfer, takes a little adjustment . There are plenty of clubs to use if you do not have any. No matter your level it seems you should have a great time. It's definitely a party/bar atmosphere...hit some balls...share some laughs. Eat and/or drink a little or a lot.... On one side there were two older couples laughing, drinking wine, leisurely hitting balls and enjoying themselves. On the other side there was a younger group thoroughly enjoying themselves drinking, shooting shots, swinging at golf balls and missing...just having a great time. Two of us, $120 total for two cocktails, a burger, wings, and bay rental ($65). Bring a group & split the bay rental. We will return read more

Hosts and bar tenders have it figured out. Lots of smiles and good people. BEWARE: Top Golf Ice Tea Lemonade drink is $20. They don't mention this at all. I had one and then took my cup back for a refill. I got a check for $43 and change and signed out for over $48 (with $5 tip)... Was this the Tuesday special? Is it normally more? This is Las Vegas right? OMG I went week ahead of time in person to get the lay of the land and talked to about 5 different folks to help figure out how to get 10-15pp from work (not all can swing a club) to get folks a reasonable lunch for an employee who's going-away. Needed to understand pricing and how extra folks can hang out with us if not playing golf, etc. Overall at this location is still working on coordinating groups and helping reserve things. I failed on my pre-outing. They said to reserve online, but funny how they only allow 10 bays to be reserved online... so it is always SOLD OUT online. Clever marketing ploy? or just a pain for me? Everything else is walk in only, so I walked in to check it out. I needed a Tuesday at 1145am and the place was sold out online. Yet it was 90% empty when I was there the Tuesday prior. Since nothing next week is available, they said to walk in. But I didn't want to do this with 10 or so people. At then end of about 30 minutes of scouting for reasonable lunch options, they told me to go to Customer Service on the 1st floor. They said I should talk to an "event planner"... so I asked if I could talk to an "event planner". Customer service said event planner isn't available like that and they don't take phone calls - they handed me a pen and a paper card that they apparently use "to schedule a call with event planner". (I felt bad that they were still using pencils and paper so I left with no real firm answers on how to get my group in for lunch.) Overall this place is too pricey - the Drink Prices are outrageous without any warning. The technology and the new build out is very nice. I hope they get things under control and setup reasonable pricing for weekday lunch outings. read more

So this place gets 2 stars for simply being a top golf. One it's gorgeous location and it HUGE! We went in on a Sunday, the front desk clerk had zero enthusiasm to help us out. We already knew that we would need to wait for a bay, we went to every floor to find a clean table and could not. We ended up cleaning a table and moving dirty dishes to another table so we could sit. No servers, so we ended up having to order from the bar. The kitchen was out of a lot of items, It took close to 35 minutes to even put in a order, when there was 6 people behind the bar! I'd love to give this place another try and hop for a better experience. read more

Worsssst service in my life. It's not the workers it's honestly management. Servers are struggling and you can tell that management don't care. They should go back to managing Payless. Other Topgolf locations is A1. I really hope they can change management and actually make this place a spot where people can enjoy their time and have fun until then I'll go to the Vegas and ontario location. Ps we waited 4 hours for nothing . Look at the time frame. We arrived at 4:40p and barely got a message back at at 9p and they told us it was just an 2hr wait...and fuck you guys with your stupid ass voicemail at 930pm! I booked a large party event here with full drink and food packages. Overall the service was descent. Our server Kenny was running laps for us with constant drink ordering. My only complaint was that we paid for 3 hours of open bar but they started last call 45m before the end. When I spoke to Kenny he told me he would stop serving us 30m prior to the end and made up excuses about wanting us to "be able to drive home safe". The main issue was that we had multiple people from our party arrive very late so to have last call end so early when we paid for 3 hours was deceptive and very frustrating. Our party was a group that works in a Restaurant that has an open bar deal and we always honor drinks for the entire period that is paid for. I don't think this is Kenny's fault at all but it left a bad taste in our mouths to an otherwise great time out. Food: 3/5 Atmosphere: 5/5 Service: 4/5 Value: 2/5 read more

We came here first opening weekend but had a reservation. Honestly, it went very smooth for us. Our server was prompt with bringing beverages and the food in a timely manner. We ordered a lot of food and to be honest it was really good. Highly suggest the donuts. We didn't have any issues with our bay, the screen at the top was a bit slow but other than that everything else worked perfectly. For being the first weekend open and all the people, I commend the staff, the bartenders, our waiter and the cooks, did amazing. I will agree with some of the other posts that the front had a few employees just standing around talking to each other, they were a bit disorganized but overall we had a great time! Like all new businesses opening, there will be hiccups, no one is perfect, but it makes me happy to see that management does respond to these posts/reviews and acknowledges. They're trying and it's commendable. Definitely will come back! The games are really fun, and when it's a beautiful warm day, you see the sunset, spending time with your friends and just having a great time, that's top golf. Would suggest for others to give it a second try. read more

This visit was just to visit, have some food and a drink and check the place out. No golf bays were available and that was fine. We sat at a table near the bar and ordered some basics. Basing this review on the food experience only... really rough. We were so nice and polite the entire time. In the end the server just slapped the bill down; no "thank you" or anything. It was unclear who our server even was, meaning we had a various group tending to the whole section. The food took a very long time to arrive. Thought they forgot us. We didn't complain or make any comments. My turkey avocado wrap was pre-made for sure. Tasted like vending machine food. My son's chicken strips lunch had three tiny strips. The hummus plate was pretty good. Most of the staff was nice with the exception of our server. I was prepared for bad service since they are new but not as bad as it was. There's no excuse for what happened. No one was trained at all. No one knew table numbers. Disaster. So my advice... go for the golf. If you order food, expect chain/low-quality. I hope their service improves drastically all around because it has such potential to be a great experience. But leadership needs to accept responsibility and do some major internal reflection before it's too late. This place is being driven by profit margins over customer experience. I will be back for some golf. Will not be dining in though. read more

Great facility, awful management. I've been in 3x now and 2x we've been treated poorly. On our last visit, we paid for 4 hours of play with just 3 guys... spent over $1,000. We ordered our last round of beers, the drinks took forever to come out... the game ended, the drinks finally came out, then instead of them telling us politely that we had to move to the bar area so other patrons can play, the workers rudely/forcefully picked up our glasses and forced us to the bar area. Management needs to learn how to talk to people. We would have gladly stood up and moved but they were so rude that we had to say something.
