    Ant inside salt shaker
    Jenny P.

I keep giving this place a try, but I think this is my final visit here. The food is okay, the salt shakers are still dirty, and the service is very slow. Our waitress would be gone for long periods of time, she would mostly be in the kitchen. I normally have more drinks, but with how inattentive she was, I only had 2. The place was really slow so I don't understand how service can be that poor. I don't know if it's a Rock N Brews thing, but they had a location in Downey that closed down, and they too had bad service.

This was actually the first rock & brews that I ever visited, and I was immediately hooked from the food to the vibe! some of my favorite things to eat are the Asian chicken wings, the pizza has a crust with a good bite to it, and after my last visit, the Poké bowl! I really love Poké bowls for the fresh fish, the healthy aspect, but also that it has so many fun textures, colors, and flavors in it. The Poké bowl comes with a side of spicy mayo, and I didn't use a whole lot of it, but it did add a great flavor to the bowl. I paired it with a citrusy IPA (I don't remember the name of it because somebody else ordered the pitcher) and it was delicious. The service is always good whether I go with one other person or 8. The music is amazing, (I love quizzing the 20-something's to see if they know who the bands are when the videos come up). There are tons of things to look at (if you have younger kids, a lively game of I spy will keep them entertained long enough for the food to arrive and maybe even for you to eat). I don't understand why they don't actually play live music there except fine, I get it. The neighbors might protest at the noise levels. We will definitely be back and if they are an option at an airport or other destination, we often choose them first.

Great selection of food to choose from, ample parking in back if there is no street parking, good tunes and lots of bands that stand out that are posted, and plenty of folks inside enjoying their drinks and meals. the service was quick and attentive-no complaints. The food could use some work but that's me. it just didn't do it for me but I will have to try out the "Gastro burger" next time cause that looked great.

I've been booking my company sales dinner here as it is always requested! I've never been able to visit myself but finally had the opportunity. Both times I've gone, staff is friendly, around lunchtime it's a bit empty but I love that for a quick lunch. Food has always been amazing. First time I tried their poke nachos and omg it did not disappoint! With a side of 805 just yum! 2nd time I tried the French dip sandwich which was yum but I'm not a huge fan of horseradish sauce. I accidentally dipped my fry thinking it was ranch LOL! Boy was it strong lol Only thing was first time my waiter was quick and attentive but second time around, different waiter.. wasn't as quick as the first one. But nothing to not keep me coming back for more. Oh and lastly... great for large groups, plenty of space and the music and tvs are the best!

Such a great Summer happy hour! Love this place!!! Great food, and very friendly staff as well.

I mean it's your usual loud sport bar environment. Big space and open air spaces. Food was just ok. I got the chicken salad, nothing exciting, and I don't think $18 is worth the price of iceberg lettuce, dry chicken, and ok dressing. I appreciate the waiter's kind service that's why it got 3 stars.

I stopped in with some friends at Rock & Brews on Main Street. I can rock but I can't brew unless it's coffee since I am gluten intolerant. Loved the decorated ceiling and walls with all the rock artist art everywhere. We had a bunch of sides and my friends had the smash burgers. Server was friendly so a good time was had by all despite my limitations here. This review is shorter than my normally absurdly long reviews as I can only review half of this joint.

I had dined at Rock & Brews years ago when I worked in the area. Today while on business near LAX, my wife and I along with our small dog decided to have lunch there. I knew that the restaurant is basically a large patio so I assumed that we could take our dog inside. I knew dogs were welcome when I saw the jar of dog treats on the check in counter. We were seated promptly and greeted by the manager at our table where we ordered their Tuesday $5 margaritas and a couple of their smash burgers. Shortly thereafter, the manager came back and explained that she neglected to offer our dog something from their dog menu. Wow!!! Dogs really are welcome here. Apparently, because we ordered meals, our dog was entitled to a free meal from the doggie menu. We picked the hamburger patty on rice. Our burgers were excellent and the margaritas perfect. Lore, our waitress was extremely pleasant. She helped my wife post a photo to instagram to commemorate our visit. She also recommended the dessert which was very good. We had a great time there and our dog, Izzy, did as well. She especially enjoyed her own meal. It's a great place for food and drinks and to bring your dog.

Not too crowded but the right chill vibe. Everybody that worked there was nice. The food was good. The smoke house burger was very juicy and overall very good. The fish and chips were battered perfectly. The fries were also good. We got the 805 beer which was great. This is a great place to catch a game because they have so many TVs. They also have a small kids playground which was cool to see. My only disappointment was that I was hoping there were more local craft beer options with the huge list that had. If I'm back in the area I would definitely swing by.

Great location, corner spot so parking is easy! It's big and lots of space, the bar is long with plenty of seating. 14 tvs while I was here it was the Dodgers, the Chargers, and music vids. It's a got a great vibe, the people working here are polite and attentive. The music is not loud which is perfect if you are carrying on a conversation. Ordered some beers and Nachos. Beers are cold and in frosted glasses, nice! The nachos are really flavorful. Had I not eaten someplace earlier I would've had a burger. The decor is RocknRoll (xcept Madonna) which is very cool. This place is better than Rocco's and has hints of the old Hard Rock . I do understand that Mr. Simmons does stop by every once in awhile. Recommended

    Kids meal - pizza
    Jenn J.

Came for a Dodgers game and, while it was on the largest screen, there was no audio. Despite sitting next to other patrons in jerseys who were clearly fans watching the same game, the vibe was off. Not quite what we were hoping for. Kids play area is for very very young kids. As is the kids menu. Kids in later years of elementary school wouldn't dig the play or the serving sizes. Most kids menus go to age 12 - this felt more like up to age 5? My boys poo-pooed the pizza as crackers pretending to be more. I tried it and know what they meant. It's visible in the picture too. The dough was dense and seemed pre-baked where sparse cheese was later melted atop. How hard is a pizza to bake from fresh? My burger was charred (also visible in picture) and overcooked. I ordered medium rare. I hate char. Messed up the each bite. Food was far from good. Overall, not worth the visit.

Wednesday night Burger specials, Playoff Hickey & Dodger game on the Giant screen, what could go wrong! Food looked great, was prepared quickly and everything tasted great. Our server was friendly and did a great job! They have a wide spectrum of good... pizza, tacos, salad, BBQ, wings and tons of Beers on Tap. Also the giant Sourdough pretzel was great too! I loved my spicy, sweet and crunchy wings. So good they did not need the ranch dressing. The smash was super thin double with grilled onions, pickle and secret sauce. Mikey & Hayden devoured them with barely a word. Ron loved his ultimate Burger. Thick patty, lettuce, tomato, grilled onions & pickle with doubled up cheese and dressed with thousand island dressing. He ate the whole thing and said, "Perfect!" A fun place to check out and each day a differ t special. Also killer happy our pricing 3-6pm! We'll add to our family rotation.

Of course, I kid, beer can be a wonderful thing, I just rather do cocktails and shots. So I went to Sugar Monkey Brewing because of a different pull: a power point slide show where friends pitch their single friends to strangers for a chance at love or romp. So I went in not knowing much of Sugar Monkey Brewing and I left with clear understanding that this place is an industrial beer oasis near the beach. The contrast of sand and blue on the horizon and the present aluminum lining made me feel like I was seeing a new uncommon mixture that proved that clashing environments can gel to delight. I found parking easily. It was a Saturday early evening, and about a 5 minute walk was where I discovered my spot. I honestly hated that I had to walk those 5 minutes but the walk uplifted my spirits for the weather was California crisp and the air and sky and atmosphere felt safe and proper. I wondered if i had the right place? The streets looked like too industrial. Like I had gone to one of those places that had a lot of factories in rows, but not much else. But I turned a corner and there was Sugar Monkey. Then I realized that a brewery would probably look like a beer factory so this place, with all its steel and pumps, had found its home amongst beach skies. As I walked back to my car, later that evening, I was in slight awe at the pale light blue and orange sky. It was serene, and vast and somehow beach appropriate. The water tower iin a picture I took was a nice touch as it reminded me of the Animaniacs, especially Wakko and Dot. I arrived after the first presentation was on its way. I started to listen intently to understand the dynamics because this all seemed so weird yet plausible. Like a dating auction turned fun not hokey or corny? The person was hyping up her friend J. Apparently, he spoke many languages, and hiked and did all these other stuff that were meant to induce attractions. Then she asked, What can he do? And she then explained how she was going to make a joke and that no one needed to fear going to hell if they laughed. And she then reveal that the thing he can't do is SEE because he was blind. The joke was in good taste. The joke, at least to me, carried disability pride. She had revealed that he was different because his sight was different to a crowd of would be judges and suitors. The strength of the duo was refreshing, dare I say, more than the beach breeze. Being witness to this moment made me feel like I had seen a beautiful moment and one I never imagine I would see. And for this reason alone, my trip to Sugar Monkey was more than fun, it was heart-opening. The place itself is cool. Their outside was a huge garden like setting. The place had pool, however, the patio is crowded so I am not sure how people can play if too many people are there. Another thing I saw- that is a credit to this place- is that it had a wheelchair elevator. So if someone was chilling in the patio and wanted to chill in their wooded floor area- where the bar was they could use the wheelchair lift, if they could not use their legs. The place had also had kind of like an off-beat personality. It had a British phone, an astronaut that seemed to have hit a space that painted him with grafitti flare, and beers with names like green means go. I think I would go to this place again, for the beer and the air and to Karaoke. I loved this place and the activity it hosted!

Unfortunately, the service completely ruined what should have been a fun afternoon. The brewery was practically empty, we were the only group there so there was no reason for the attitude we received. One of the servers, a woman with bright orange/blonde bleached hair, was incredibly rude from the moment we arrived. Every interaction seemed to annoy her. She rolled her eyes when anyone in our group asked for anything, acted inconvenienced by the simplest requests such as ordering another beer, and made everyone at our table feel uncomfortable. The worst part was that her behavior upset my 7-year-old son so much that he ended up crying. No child should leave a birthday celebration feeling intimidated by a server. To top it off, as we were finishing up, she started loudly slamming chairs around, making it painfully obvious that she wanted us to leave, even though there was no one else in the brewery. We came to support a local business and celebrate a special occasion, but instead left feeling unwelcome. Based on this experience, we won't be returning.
