Top Line Jag Repair - Don't go here! Fraud Jaguar repair. Paid for diagnostic and receive estimate . - Auto Repair Near Me - Springfield, Virginia

Let's be honest, Jags and Range Rovers are expensive luxuries to have. Having said this, we as owners look for the best value and service our money can support, especially in today's economy. My wife and I looked at what was available to us, to keep our investments in safe working order a few years ago. We saw the price deference between dealers and mom and pops for repairs. I said to my wife, if I'm going to pay someone our hard earned money, we need to give Top Line a chance. They haven't failed us once, and of course if there was an adjustment to be had on any repair that Top Line had done, they would make it right. Yes, I know, so would the dealer depending on the situation. Both have called us back to check on our investment. Everyone needs to make money, no brainer here. I use Top Line for my Jag exclusively and our Range Rover Sport on occasion. Your call. read more

I'm very satisfied with the work done by Top Line Jaguar. The entire management team (Debbie, George and Jace) are so friendly. The technicians are very skilled. They replaced the entire engine of my LR4. They dealt with the warranty company to get the required approvals and with Land Rover to get the engine and all required parts shipped and delivered to them. They kept me informed and updated during the entire process. I received my vehicle and it's running with a brand new engine! Thank you George, Jace and Debbie, you guys are awesome! read more

Honestly this is one of the best places I have every been to get a car repaired. They were thorough and explained everything to me. Deb is incredible...She offered me a price for a repair that was at least 25% less than I was quoted at my dealership. Most importantly though I felt like she was honest. She told me i didn't need to do some of the items that the dealer told me were critical. They know these cars better than any newly trained mechanic at a dealer. read more

Not an honest car repair place. They took my money, claimed that they fixed it, they never did. This happened on multiple occasions, I trusted them, they totally violated my trust. I even gave them money to order parts, which they claimed they needed, and they never did, when I asked them to refund the money for the parts they never ordered, they stopped taking my calls, and did not respond to my emails. Please be aware, ask to see the parts they replaced, don't trust their word. Sorry. read more

TLJ services all three of my Jaguars for over 20 years. Professionalism is the best. The environment is super friendly. Service on my vehicles is excellent. I highly recommend TOP Line Jaguar to all JAG owners. You will not be disappointed. read more

TopLine is the best! They treat my Jaguar with tender loving care and their prices usually undercut the Dealer's repair costs by hundred if not thousands of dollars. I wholeheartedly recommend them. -Chris N., Silver Spring, MD read more

My 1984 XJS went in for repairs. It took longer than expected but they worked on everything. They even worked on the old wiring that had become frayed and brittle. It runs great now. Thank you George. read more

Simple 30000 checkup - by end of an entire day they let me know they couldn't get an air filter or cabin filter for a 2019 xf - i told them fine, don't do that, i'll do it myself and come get the car. They tried to argue with me. I came and got the car and they were still telling me how a novice should not be doing it. Of course parts i order were a lot less and better, not to mention the 1.5 hours of labor charges for simple task. No, what galls me is that when i went in to put in my air filter - i found the filter cover unscrewed, loose, and there was NO FILTER AT ALL. These folks will never see my car or money again. read more

George and his staff know their Jaguars. Received a comprehensive set of recommendations for my 2006 S type R. I knew it had been neglected by previous owners. I bit the bullet and had over $8k work done and now she runs beautifully. My only problem was that they don't respond consistently to email. Gotta pick up the phone and call. In reading some negative reviews you have to consider the source. Most of these people are whiners who just want to bitch and aren't responsible people. Give this shop your business. read more

I have three Jaguars. A 2017 F-type, A big engine supercharged xf, and soon to be classic xk8 .. I've been bringing my cats to Top Line for the last several years and they are my go to for all my maintenance needs... I have always received great personal service and the cars are kept in pristine care because of their work. Here are three reasons I keep coming back (and no.. Im not paid to say this or receiving anything. They've been a great service and they are great people..period.) 1. They are knowledgeable and competent. You can trust their work. 2. They are honest. As Jag owners we know that repairs are gonna be costly. You own a Jag not a Honda. But their fees are definitely better than the dealership most often. And if you speak with them they will always let you know everything that requires work but help you prioritize what's essential and what you need to plan for to meet your budget. 3. Debbie (the owner) is simply a wonderful high quality person. She happens love jags and the people who love jags. George and the staff a very competent. The guys have always been informative and friendly. I could take my cars elsewhere. I don't because I like this team. I have read some negative reviews but from my experience can only share that I always ensure I know the totality of what to expect (in terms of time requirements, costs, and any potential challenges) up front.. and they have always been true to that. Yes there was a time when I went in thinking I only needed one thing but once they got in saw that there were other items that were definitely needed and yes sometimes they were more costly but that's because the cars are older. The needs were real and it would be costlier to ignore them. This is one thing I know about Top Line, they are going to be honest and aren't trying to "get over" on any customer. They are good people and they do a good job. read more

My Family has been using TLJ for nearly 20 years. My mother used to bring her 1986 XJS VDP when anything was needed and I brought my 86 XJS. They have always been upfront about the repair estimates, and more importantly are very good about setting expectations around what can and (not often) cannot be done, and what to expect and how to maintain the cars afterward. Moreover, they stand (literally) behind their work - After my Mother was unable to drive her car it sat for many years (5+) in the her garage. I loaded it on a flat bed, sent it to TLJ and gave them clearance to go over everything and fix everything. I told them I wanted to drive the car 300 miles home when it was done and I wanted it to be perfect (or as close as possible). They worked for over 8 months to pore over everything and gave me constant updates, provided quotes, offered suggestions to save money etc. When it was complete I flew down, took an Uber to the shop and then went over everything with them. Even though it was after 5pm I told them I was heading back and Debbie (and George) said they would remain on call by text/phone etc. in case I needed anything. I drove the Jag back at a solid 65mph+ through the night with no issues. During my drive Debbie sent notes asking how things were going and that I report on anything strange the Jag might be doing. She sent me a last text when she thought I might be home. Yes, I am a long term customer. Yes, I invested a lot in sorting the Jag out. However, their work speaks for itself in that not only was I able to get home on that long trip without issue, a year later the Jag is running flawlessly (well except for a high beam dip switch relay that seems to have died and my inability to find the proper washer pump...but I digress). I have been to other Jag shops in my lifetime, I have another british car and have been to many other Brit car shops (some long gone) up and down the East Coast. I even worked at one of them during college. I'm no longer in Va. and that's unfortunate. But I am resolute in my belief that for Jaguars, this is the best shop I have ever been to. Ever. Keep it up guys! read more

Unfortunately I was overcharged by mistake my first time here. But fortunately Debbie called me a few days later after reviewing the invoice. She apologized and made everything good by refunding the overcharge. Very professional. I will certainly return next time my car is under the weather. So glad there is an alternative to the two Jaguar dealers in this area (haven't had good experiences there) for work on my Jaguar. read more

We had a bad experience with Top Line. My father sent his Jaguar XK-140 here in 2019, and after almost a year of no apparent progress, he asked for my help, and I stepped in thinking there had been some miscommunication. At first, George blamed the delay on the difficulty of finding parts for the car (understandable), but at one point he had just received the carburetor that he'd been waiting weeks for - and three months later, that carburetor was still waiting to be installed. It seemed like the car was completely forgotten about between our phone calls. After the carburetor, all I heard was more and more diverse excuses, including being told that the problem was that I simply didn't understand the process. What I do understand is that after more than two years and almost $10,000 spent at Top Line, my Dad still can't get the car to start, the car still has no working brakes, and it's visibly unchanged. If the car was going to be that difficult for Top Line to repair - which should have been evident to a professional right away - then they shouldn't have taken on the project. Most frustratingly, I spent almost five months just trying to get the car returned to us, only for George to stall and delay at every call. I repeatedly asked him to stop work and reassemble the car so that it could be towed. In May of 2021 we sent a tow truck, with a week of advance warning, only for the car to still be in so many pieces that it couldn't be towed. In July I finally had to threaten to call the Sheriff, and I posted a candid Yelp review, after which we finally got a bill, which we paid instantly, and the car on a tow truck. We never received an itemized bill, which I asked for many times and was promised. Several times I asked to speak to anyone else at the garage, but I was never able to speak with anyone but George. It was a very strange and VERY frustrating experience. We obviously seriously erred in judgement, and Top Line completely failed to do whatever work they did in a timely, transparent, or effective manner. We're sending the car to another shop next week to start all over. I recommend avoiding this garage. read more

My first encounter with Top Line Jag was not the best, however Debbie corrected all the flaws I had by being very customer friendly and proactive. I'm very glad I gave them a chance to fix things and they did a fantastic job to my 2008 XKR and in a short time. So it's great to experience that Top Line jag does review and check the feedback and they make good use of it. My confidence in them has completely been restored and I'll be a future customer to them for solving my issues in a very responsive and positive way. read more

I dropped my car off on August 9th and heard nothing for almost a week. I called them and they said they had gotten the parts, but one was defective and needed to order it again. Waited another week and called again, they said the car would be ready in a few days. Called again a few days later and they now said something was wrong with the caliper. At the time of this writing, it's August 28th and I still don't have my car. I have never seen anything like this ever in all my 38 years. We are approaching Three WEEKS and still, no car. I am incredulous. I would give this place zero stars but the site won't let me. I have no car, so how can I rate their work? I will update this when I pick up the car. read more

While I think this is a great place and can exceed the expectations of Jaguar repairs, I had one serious issue. After waiting 3 hours for my Jaguar to be diagnosed (easily remedied with a provided lunch - something the staff receives for free everyday...who does that!?), I went over the estimate with a staff member and declined the cited repairs. Afterwards, I asked for a copy of the estimate and was informed that it had been thrown away and there was no extra copy. I found this very odd, as I have never been denied a copy of an estimate before. So the staff member jotted down repair items on a hand written estimate. When I made mention that the initial estimate and the one he just wrote were different, I was given "some kind of" excuse. This, I did not appreciate. Other than that, the staff is knowledgeable & friendly, and Debbie is GREAT! read more

I have used Top Line twice now and they have exceeded my expectations both times. I own a 2012 XFR currently under factory warranty. I was looking for an alternate to the high prices charged by the dealership. I found Top Line through a google search and hit them up. I was told to bring the car in when possible to get the oil change done. During the oil change Top Line identified some issues and brought me to the back of the shop to show me. They said that the factory warranty should cover those and that I should take it back to the dealership and have the work done. He was right! The second time around I got my rear brakes replaced and wheels balanced. Again two issues were identified by Top Line that should be addressed under factory warranty and they were. I was pleasantly surprised to receive hand written thank you card in the mail from Deb the owner of Top Line. She gave me her cell number in case I had any issues to contact her directly! Top Line is an honest, straight forward, no haggle shop that treats their customers with respect and honesty. I highly recommend them! read more

Amazing repair shop, I'd recommend this place to all Jaguar owners! Super friendly and personable staff. Quick turnaround time on repairs. I'm always super happy with the work done on my car, they truly treat it as if it were their own car. I wouldn't trust my car in any other hands. read more

I had been neglecting my 2005 XKR and had a host of problems. One issue, an airbag light took all of their expertise to solve. It ended up being a defective driver seat harness. I had a coolant leak that had befuddled dealers and other mechanics. They solved that. They said the battery was bad. I hadn't noticed any issues so I was skeptical. They replaced the battery and the memory windows, which had become a huge issue needing constant reset started working perfectly. They replace the rear shocks and the car drives like a dream. Even my wife noticed. The only reason they get 4 stars is a lack of communication. I told them they could call anytime but more often than not I had to reach out to them. Price was great, compared to dealer. I will continue to use Top Line. read more

Went in last Friday for an oil change and had no issues with the service, the owner was friendly and even talked to me about specifics of my car. The price was almost $100 less than the dealership and I was able to use a coupon they'd sent me with no issues. I even got cookies and a thank u card left in my car after the service was completed. I vowed then to only use Top Line for my car's service, etc. However, after my experience a couple months ago, i doubt that I'll ever bring my car back to them!! Sooo, I scheduled to get my rear brakes done yesterday and I knew the service would cost me around $800, which was much less than the dealership and I was well aware and ready to pay that amount. I got the estimate a month before I came in and even called back a couple days before I brought it in to confirm the price. No issues there either. When I get there I present a young lady (I guess she was the receptionist) with a coupon they'd sent me for $50 my brake job. My brakes were fixed in a reasonable amount of time, but when I got the bill the $50 deduction wasn't there. I asked the guy that completed my bill where the deduction was and he said the young lady quoted me the price to include my coupon deduction, WHICH WAS A LIE!! She had no clue I had a coupon until I got there and gave it to her. Unfortunately she'd left for the day by that time and I couldn't talk to her about it. At that point the guy asked me to wait, he leaves the room & goes to talk to the business owner. The door is open and I can hear her berating him saying in an angry voice, "What does she want? Does she want the sensor free? What?!!" Keep in mind I can hear their entire conversation which was so unprofessional! I DIDN'T WANT ANYTHING FREE!! I WANTED THEM TO HONOR THE COUPON THEY SENT ME!! When he comes back, he looked scared and tells me he took $30 my bill, I decline and tell him their coupon said $50 off, so he changes the bill again to reflect the $50 deduction. Although the work on my car was done well, the way the owner acted was so unprofessional and for her to think I wanted something free blew my mind and made me think less of her and her establishment. If I come into a business with the money to pay for a service that's $800 why in the hell would u dispute a $50 deduction? $50!!!!! Thanks to the owner's rude, mean and unprofessional behavior, she lost a loyal customer! She can keep her $50 coupons because I won't ever spend another dime in her establishment! Fast forward to July, 2018- I broke down & called them about getting work done on my car. I left a voicemail with a man who said he'd call me back & it's August 18, 2018 & I'm still wsiting for a call back This place has THEE WORST customer service ever!! I'm not going to beg anyone to take my money & will just go to the dealership where I know I won't get the run around. read more

I paid for them to repair a leaking coolant part. They were suppose to replace it. I paid 500.00. immedately after I left about a week to be exact. They coolant light came back on. I recently had my mechanic brother in law take a look at it and he said there is no way this part replaced they glued it on and he could not believe it. These people stay away. They had done some work in the past which was body work so I thought okay, but they are not honest and i am a african american woman so they thought I would never find out. please dont go. read more

I really felt it was necessary to post a review following my 3rd shop visit with my 2005 XKR convertible. The first visit was for a synthetic oil change and state inspection. I quickly discovered Debbie and George to be wonderful to work with. Upon my return to pick up the car, they showed me 4 issues they discovered that warranted my attention. Coolant, transmission and differential leaks, as well as drive belt scheduled replacement. I concurred as they took the time to give me a close up view of the problems with the car on the lift. I really appreciated that as it helped for me to see the problems personally. They quoted reasonable prices for each repair, much less than jag dealerships would have quoted and I opted to fix 3 of the 4 items. George heard my concerns regarding the prices of two of the repair items and shaved the prices down as best he could which I again greatly appreciated. Following the repairs, I soon discovered the differential leak had returned and they apologetically took the car immediately back and discovered a faulty seal that jaguar had provided to them and they re-installed another new one. Now the most interesting thing about this 3rd repair was that they became concerned about a 2nd seal on the differential that they anticipated would cause another leak in the near term and took it upon themselves to replace that seal as well AT NO COST! Now I know they lost money on this differential work. I have to say that I most certainly admire a repair shop that makes their reputation a TOP PRIORITY and takes pride in their work and relationship with their customers!! Debbie and George, my convertible top goes off to your dedication and pride. Certainly, that must be the reason you have been in business with a shop full of special interest cars for the past 25 years! I will be back many more times, after all its a Jaguar. I urge others to do the same! read more

Finding an auto mechanic that you can trust is as important as finding a good doctor, dentist or financial adviser. I recently brought my 2003 S-type to Top Line and asked them to give it a thorough look over as my daughter would love to have the car but I was concerned that it might just be a money pit in the years to come. After spending an hour and a half looking over the car, Debbie and George gave me a list of things that needed to be fixed. AT NO CHARGE. Finding a Jag repair shop that is reasonable and interested in building a long-term relationship with its customers is a top priority for me and Top Line has earned my trust and business. read more

Been bringing my 1997 XJ-6L here for two years. They are very thorough and do exceptional work. I had the steering rack replaced last year and it failed a few days later -- obviously faulty. They had it towed in and replaced it and no extra expense which was the fair thing to do. Sure they are not cheap, but certainly reasonable given they are a Jaguar shop. They definitely have the right attitude when dealing with customers and always keep you in the loop regarding the progress of your repairs. I have been quite pleased with them. read more
