Raul and his team is great - very quick and efficient crew. He showed me the before and after of the adjustments.

I can't say enough great things about Commonwealth Garage. Raul, the owner, is truly one of the most honest and reliable mechanics I've ever worked with. I've been here four times now for different issues, and every single visit has been consistently excellent--fair pricing, quality work, and zero upselling. Raul takes the time to explain what's going on, gives realistic timelines, and delivers exactly what he promises. It's rare to find a shop you can trust completely, but this one is it. I've been so impressed that I've started referring everyone I know, and they've all had the same great experience. If you want a shop that treats you right every time, Commonwealth Garage is the place. Highly recommend! read more

I went to Commonwealth for an oil and filter change today after reading positive reviews online. Quick, excellent service, and very fair prices. They were extremely professional and kind. They've won my trust, and I'll be going back for all my future car service needs. read more

I had my f150 towed to Commonwealth because it had died following my replacement of plugs and coils in a 3.5l engine at 175k miles. It turned out that one coil had shorted causing electrical issues and eventually we also recognized low compression on one bank, and that led to a diagnosis of timing belt slippage, bent valves and a replacement engine. Raoul found a used engine (50k miles) to save me money and when he put that in it had similar problems to the original engine. Raoul pulled that engine and got another. I received the truck yesterday and I am impressed, the company was fair about the pricing, taking my concerns into account, didn't try to nickel and dime me, and warranted his work and parts for a year. More than I expected for a used engine. It was expensive, but not what I imagined as the various problems continued to cascade. I used to do most of my own work, but engines are more sophisticated now and you need a garage that does good work, doesn't rip you off, and is personable. I found those characteristics in Commonwealth Garage. Thank you, Drew read more

Raul and his team are the best. I miss them so much, as I moved to Richmond 3 years ago. Im seriously considering coming back to him for my car needs cause I can't find anyone even close to him and his car and customer care! read more

Is not very often you find an expert in this field that does not feel like you have to protect your wallet and second guess the information. He has been through AND SAVED ME A LOT OF MONEY AND HEADACHE. I will forever be GRATEFUL. One of the Best recommendation Ever ! read more

You will not find a more honest value mechanic in all of the NOVA area. Not sure how Raul does it, but he does. Bring all your vehicles here... I will guarantee Brad read more

If you want good pricing and quality work, this is the place! Ask for Raul and he'll provide you thorough details. I've found this place through good reviews so I am contributing another one to this business because Commonwealth Garage is well worth it. I brought my car in to replace the catalytic converter and now the car runs smoothly plus I've passed emissions now. My car had some work that needed to be done and luckily Raul brother was right across the street at L&M body shop (also highly recommend; I'll post before and after photos on L&M body shop on their review.) Bottom line: this is the place to go if your car needs work, they use quality car parts with short turn around time. I am very pleased with my vehicle and I cannot thank this business enough. read more

I have been a loyal customer of Joyce Koons Honda dealership for the past 12 years. However, earlier this week, service account manager, Mark, told me that the spool valve in my Honda Pilot was leaking significantly and needed to be replaced. I got a second opinion since the price he quoted me was 60% more than any other place I got a quote from. I took my vehicle to CommonWealth Garage in Springfield, VA, which came highly recommended. They quoted me $568.16. They checked the spool valve and said that it is functioning perfectly fine. It was not leaking! I had them check it again & again. They said, no leak! Koons Honda would have charged me $1300 for something that would cost 60% less, and was not leaking. That's not loyalty on their part. That's disloyalty and deception at the highest degree! To think just how much money I've wasted at Koons Honda?! At Commonwealth Garage, Raul, was incredibly respectful, upfront, trustworthy, and helpful. He communicated with me every step of the way and he was only a text or phone call away every time I needed to speak with him. He even came yo my house to pick up the correct key to my car in order to save me a trip to the shop. I was so incredibly impressed that I had several interior items fixed in my car at Commonwealth Garage. I also got my vehicle fully detailed inside and out Do not waste your time taking your vehicle anywhere else...stick with Commonwealth garage because they're trustworthy and beat all other prices!!! read more

I had an unexpected warning light on the dash on a Friday morning and I was supposed to drive out of state that evening - Commonwealth had me come by to diagnose the problem (very near my new office and 2 co-workers had said good things) which they did in about 15 minutes. They gave me ride to my office and my car was all fixed 5 hours later. Professional and polite, knowledgeable and fair - my car even passed inspection immediately after the repair! read more

The owner Raul is very honest and knowledgable. I requested a front break change. Upon inspection, the breaks were still good, instead of changing the breaks he showed me the breaks were rusted and needed to be cleaned & lubricated saving me hundreds of dollars. read more

Amazing place! I am so excited to find a place that's actually honest about car service. After being let down with customer service in so many places around the area, I'm relieved to find Commonwealth Garage after many years of living in northern Virginia. They did a great job on routine car maintenance, and at an amazing price! There are no surprise costs at pickup and they're all just really nice!! read more

Commonwealth Garage is a must for all your car repair needs. Honesty, integrity, and professionalism is their foundation. I needed work done in a hyper shorten period of time and they unquestionably jumped through hoops to get it done in one afternoon. Even when the parts were next to impossible to get in that time period. This has now established itself as the sole shop for any work I need on my Jeep. A bright light in the maddening landscape that is car repair. read more

I almost don't want to do this review. Mike and team are just that good... I don't want this place to get "discovered" so that I have to wait in line to get service! I've worked on cars all my life... From engine rebuilds to regular maintenance and I'm always terribly suspect of anyone I let wrench on any of my cars. Invariably most grease monkeys will screw something up. Not so with Mike and his guys. Sure, the first couple of trips I was worried as I was getting to know the garage but now? I don't even give it a second thought if I need work on my car. Mike and his crew to it right, are honest and charge an extremely reasonable price. But even as important, when something goes wrong (which happened once in all the times I've brought my car there and it was minor), the guys own up to it remove the problem with no drama and ultimately 100% stand behind their work. Hands down Mike's Commonwealth Garage is, bar none, the very best garage I've ever been to! read more

I had an oil change done today. It was quick and the price was excellent. The car's acceleration is much better. I would definitely get my oil change done here again. read more

I highly recommend them. I have used this repair center twice. Once for transmission work on my 2001 Dodge truck and most recently for a hard to find clunking that was happening on my 1995 Lincoln Towncar. I am very familiar with this vehicle and was all over it looking for the problem before I talked to Raul and left it with him. At first, I got the same answer as everyone else gave ... it is the suspension system, airbags ... shocks ... springs .... somewhere there. He invited me down to show me, introduced me to the mechanic that was working on the car and he showed me a level of interest that I have not seen much of. When I told him that they hadn't found the problem, he asked if we could take a ride. As so as he heard the noise, he knew something else was wrong. We told Raul and he wanted to go for a ride too. When we got back, he put the car on the rack and looked until we could see the well hidden shock nut that had been lost years ago and was wreaking havoc. read more

Friendly, reliable service!! Raul is a godsend. My car wouldn't start, he located & fixed the problem within in MINUTES, whereas the Triple A battery truck toyed with it for almost an hour to no accord. Will definitely be going back to Raul for all my car needs! read more

After a full (free) consultation, I needed brakes, rotors and a battery. Mr. Raul and his team were excellent to work with. They were highly communicative, kind and SO reasonable. They gave me a battery at half the price of the average cost. They were quick and efficient. So pleased with the whole process--love supporting this local business! Highly recommend Commonwealth Garage to anyone in the northern VA area. read more

My colleague referred me to this garage after he had transmission issues. A garage up the street suggested a used transmission to him for about 3K, so he got a 2nd opinion at Commonwealth. They told him he didn't and that it could be repaired for 1700. In my case, I had my transmission rebuilt for roughly 3100. I felt reassured after speaking to the owner on what was needed to be done and the cost was fair and reasonable. My transmission has been working well on my 190,000 mile. I'll bring my car here next time I need repairs. One good thing is there is an Enterprise rental car down the street. read more

I've told Mike that if his shop was a little bit cleaner that I'd let him work on me. I trust them more with my cars than any doctor I've ever found. Commonwealth Garage is a fantastic shop! The are the best mechanics I have seen and work on all types of vehicles. Their rates are reasonable and I have never had them ask me to do work that was unnecessary. The work also always seems to get done on the same day. One of my friends recently came in with a leaking oil pan and they were able to fix it in only about an hour so she was able to wait and make it to a function that evening. read more
