This station advertises inspections/emissions tests online and on site 8am - 5pm. I arrived at 4:30 on a Monday for an emissions test but was told that the inspector leaves early because he "lives far away" and that last call is usually 4:15pm. Friendly folks here. Have got reasonable priced oil changes here. Unlike the dealership, you won't be waiting for hours. Time is money. Here I've also done state inspections. I like that it's next to Einstein Bagel. Old Keene Mill and nearby Rolling Road intersections are unique. Put your driving gloves on. Once in here plenty of room for cars or trucks to fuel up. Are they competitive price wise? In the square mile or so around here yes, but I do better in Burke or Franconia. You'll pay more, but it's not like that Georgetown station that's internationally known. Employees are friendly, and there's a store with the basics. read more

Mike is an extremely honest and trustworthy guy. He will tell you if it's worth fixing or if it isn't worth fixing. He is not out to steal your money like some guys do; his goal is to inform you of your best options, let you decide, and then perform awesome work. My car was always taken in and repaired or serviced very quickly and I never had to go back because the work was done right the first time. My car is my most prized possession and I would never trust it in the wrong hands. Highly recommend taking your car here as I would not take mine anywhere else. Worst service ever. Mike comes off as this nice guy, but that is far from the truth. I took my car for oil change and they lied about changing it. I when back to tell Mike that his team did not do their job and charged me for service that wasn't done, rather than handling the issue he totally disregard the matter. I called to ask for an appointment for a simple repair and customer service was lacking. I was told to drop off my car the same morning and told them I could not because of work but that I could do it in the afternoon or next day and they seem to be bothered by it and I just was not sure when I could drop off my car at the end of the conversation. If they are bothered by an appointment I cannot imagine how they would react if I had questions about the repair. read more

Don's shell had an inspection sign at the front end of their shop. That's where all the cars line up. I arrived at 3:50pm and put gas. I noticed a car in the inspection line so I got in line. The inspector came to the car in front of me and talked to the guy, grabbed the keys, and went on with the inspection. I pulled up to the sign, where it says to line up. I was the next car. You could visibly see me from the register. At this time it was 4pm on August 1st. I waited. I saw the inspector bring the car around for the prior customer. The inspector went back in (white male, tall, bleach blonde hair, glasses). 40 minutes pass and no one came to get my car. I knew they were open for inspections until 5pm, so I got out to see if maybe they were still working on another car, bc no one came to get my car. I walked in and asked if they were doing inspections and the tall white male said "yes", looked at the time and said "no more for today". I asked if 5pm is when they stopped and he said "yes, but we already took our last customer". I stated that I was there for 45 minutes and no one came out. He stated "why didn't you come in?". I said I have been here and other places many times for inspections and we wait by the sign until it is our turn, then we go in. That's the process they had in the past and the process he used for the customer in front of me. I mentioned that I can't come back if that is how they treat customers, with a very confused tone, and he laughed and said "we really don't want you here anyway". I was baffled that a grown man, a manager, would make me wait in the heat for 45 min and just watch me sit by the sign and then smile saying he didn't want me there!!!! He obviously was done working at 4pm and never pulled the sign back or came to let me know that he was done for the day, an hour early. Again, they could see me waiting at the sign from their window. I went over to the Exxon in front of Whole Foods at 4:45pm and they greeted me and gave me an inspection and were done by 4:55pm. Don's Shell doesn't deserve one star, everyone needs to know that they do not care about their customers! Never use Don's shell! Awful customer service!!!! read more

Ignore the bad reviews on here-they're from like 2008!! I just got the BEST customer service AND pricing from George & staff. Def would recommend them to any/every one. I rarely post reviews, which is sad, bc I too work in customer service & know great work deserves to be recognized. They just fixed (in the middle of a pandemic mind you) my car in 2 HRS after I gave up waiting on shop @ my work for 2 MONTHS! AND I called them this AM! Thank you George/Mr Tire! Had a real good experience with this shop. Took my 2010 Toyota in for state and emissions inspection. I wasn't sure it was going to pass, but they gave my car a good look and explained that it was good shape. I have been to other shops in the past and that would been a opportunity to tell me I needed everything fixed including the flex capacitor. $$$$. No hard sell here. Honest assessments. So I went to the bathroom and the lady behind the counter comes knocking on the door asking me if everything is ok that I have been in there for a while. He has serviced our eleven different vehicles over the years and is always straight forward with what needs to be done, what can wait and how to save money. We are getting ready to sell one of our vehicles that has been serviced by Don's Shell for over 10 years. We ordered a Carfax report just to see if there was anything in it that we should be aware of, and we noticed that every time we took the vehicle to Don's Shell, all the services we'd gotten were listed from oil changes to new brakes to new headlight bulbs. Meanwhile, when we had taken it to the dealer (when it was still under warranty), the dealer just entered "vehicle serviced." Took my car in for a safety inspection and to have driver's side rear brake cylinder replaced. The next day, the driver's side rear tire locked up. Taking it apart revealed the brake shoe (which was worn extremely thin, had come completely off and wedged between the drum thus locking the wheel up. When I went back and reported this I was told it was not a big deal and offered no resolution. I had been a customer there for twenty years and had trusted them with my vehicle. I can longer do that and would advise people against using their services. read more
