It felt very transparent and reasonable, which I really appreciated. Liz was able to schedule me for the next day. Upon my arrival, I was greeted with a warm welcome and told updates about my repair would be communicated via text (see photo). Exline staff are the most honest around. The staff always put customer service first - no upselling, honest evaluations, great service. Their Rewards portal gives you discounts on returning visits which is nice. I brought my car in for safety and for emissions (had an appointment). I waited in their spacious waiting area which has WiFi and refreshments and TV. One wheel was missing a lug nut and instead of upselling, George advised me on simply adding a lug nut rather than buying a whole new lock set. George also helped another customer with the best solution that would take care of the car issue without upselling. I've previously gone to another car dealer and all they do is upsell and quote hundreds of dollars of "needed repair". Exline has earned my business! From 2023: The manager Mo is kind and honest. They did my safety inspection, carefully gave me quotes for recommended work at very reasonable prices, and was very honest about the work I needed. Please do not take your vehicle to be serviced here!!! I informed the technician that my key fob wasn't working from a far distance; the "technician" sent me a video of him standing right next to the car clicking the key fob and stating that he "found no issue" and I was charged close to 500$ for that "service" alone. Then they stated that they changed my transmission fluid and "updated my tcm". It's no signs or proof that that has even been done. after I was forced to pay close to 2,000$, I was forced into a "after hours pickup" where they left the key in my vehicle and my vehicle unsecured. Once I got my vehicle I had no body to speak to, that'll insure me that my vehicle had actually been serviced. -------------- Hello George H, Since I can't respond to your comment, I'll respond to this. I was NOT made aware of the diagnostic charges up front for the "services", but hours after my vehicle had already been dropped off (close to closing). I was able to talk them down from $531.96 to charging me $265 for the diagnostic even though not one issue was found, with ANYTHING that I requested. You stated that my transmission was "abused" on yelp, but the " technician" did not state that to me, the shop only alleged that they changed the transmission fluid. The previous invoice was $1,430.34(almost 2000$), before I talked them down because they didn't find any issues with my vehicle. also you stated that "we were not able to stay open late enough to cater to my available hours.", when the "technician" told me my vehicle was ready it was less than 10 minutes before the "shop" closed, and I believe it was done purposely. read more

I had been taking my car to Exline automotive for several years without issue. Liz in particular was very conscientious and attentive whenever I interacted with her about scheduling or servie-related questions. Then I experienced an absolute nightmare scenario back in January of 2023. While traveling across country relocating to a new job, the A.T. oil temp light kept flashing on and off. I followed the guidelines in the manual and pulled off to the side of the road until the warning indicator went away. About the 6th time this happened in 300 miles, the car violently seized and downshifted at 80 mph somewhere in the middle of Tennessee. I had the car towed to a local mechanic who specializes in Subarus. After closely inspecting the car, it was this mechanic's opinion that whoever serviced the vehicle last (Exline) drained my gear box fluid thinking it was the transmission fluid. They then filled my transmission fluid thinking that fluid was drained and therefore overfilled the transmission. With nowhere to expand when this fluid heated, the fluid could no longer absorb heat and it cooked. The result is that I had to pay this mechanic ~$5000 to replace the transmission. I had to pay for a tow across country which was another $1200. I also incurred another $1000 in hotel expenses. I had always seen very young mechanics working for Exline when I would take my car in. I never thought it would cost me thousands. What was Exline's response? They tried to claim that my vehicle transmission "was probably already on its way out" and that the other mechanic who has over 20 years of experience "didn't know what he was talking about." This is obviously absurd, insulting, and infuriating. The only thing George from Exline agreed to pay was $500, which was the cost of a transmission flush. Do not take your vehicle here. I wouldn't want to wish what happened to me on anyone. And the response from Exline tells you all you need to know: they will screw you over and won't stand by their work. I will be posting this review to as many review sites as I can to expose this company. read more

Their waiting room was so clean! They even had a little store to peruse! I will be a returning customer, and I will tell all of my friends. They told me 15 minutes for my Emissions--and they did it in 15! WOW! The gentleman at the computer was quick, effective, and so kind--especially after the day I had. I needed that little bit of humanity--thank you. Tip: Call ahead and make an appointment-mine was the same day I called, which avoided wait times. I went here to just get tires rotated. I got tired of having to go to Toyota for every little thing plus the cost factor. exline is closer to my house and they fit me in no problem. The parking lot can be confusing to navigate if the lot is full but they offered very speedy service- I'd say 1/3 of the time that Toyota has ever taken. High mileage Diesel Van that worked all its life so far, was towed in with the menu of problems as scheduled maintenance was discontinued and it was sold off. Finally made it to Exline and Patrick and George managed to give us a path to keeping "Beast" running. This is a well run and honest shop. Time is charged for any services or estimates that require labor, and that is only fair. You cannot align a car with bad wheels or bearings, now can you? Waste of time and alignment. Loose tension pulley stretches the belts, etc. If a repair is done and a problem returns or still exists take the vehicle back and talk over a solution. You drive it all the time and know the sounds and vibrations and "ticks" but there is no way for a tech and or the mechanic to be as familiar as you are with YOUR vehicle. Remember the more you can clearly communicate to the shop the better the results. And always ask the cost of diagnostic work involved to get an estimate, currently even a SCAN is not as simple or quick as 5 years ago and the equipment to scan is a computer - Say no more. read more

This place has easily provided the best service that I've ever gotten from an auto shop. First thing I noticed is that when I called in to make an appointment, Liz who works the phone and front desk, was super friendly. I would later find out she's not just a desk person. She's the owner's wife and she knows her cars too so you can count on someone really listening to you when you tell them you problem. After getting there, the first thing the owner (George) did was take me back into the garage where my car was already on a lift, showed me exactly what the problem with my car was, and told me in detail how he planned to fix it and how much he thought it'd cost. The previous owner of my car hadn't installed the exhaust properly. George did a great job of essentially redoing it and making it rock solid. It's things like this that give you confidence that they know what they're doing and actually want you to be happy when you leave. They took my appointment kind of last minute (called in the morning, got an appointment for that afternoon) so I just waited it out after I got there. There's a nice leather sofa, DirecTV, free wi-fi, and a water cooler so waiting wasn't a big deal. Liz was really nice and accommodating and made sure I had the wi-fi password and told me I could feel free to change the tv channel to whatever I wanted. I was there for a couple hours, but she made sure to check on me and see that I was comfortable. When my car was done, George came back out, brought me back to the garage and showed me the work he did. He detailed really clearly everything he had done and why he did it. He even fielded a random question I had about jacking my car up for repairs at home. Lastly, Liz checked me out, and went through each line on my receipt and made sure I was clear on all the charges. Mistakes happen; we have all experienced this. It isn't the mistake that matters so much as it is how it was resolved. I recently took my VW Passat to Exline Auto for a repair to the axle. It was an expensive repair, but I didn't realize that a mistake had been made until after I had moved away from their location. I didn't give Exline the opportunity to make the situation right, as more than a month had passed since I visited their shop. I was wrong. I didn't let them know about my experience until I received a customer satisfaction survey from the CEO. Shortly thereafter, I received a call from George, the CEO who sought to genuinely understand what happened. He offered to make the situation right by having me come back for the repair to be redone. Unfortunately, I had already had the situation fixed by another facility. Instead of dropping the issue, he did the next best thing, which was to reimburse me for the labor cost from the other place. I wasn't expecting anything from Exline, but was pleasantly pleased by their genuine concern and commitment to complete customer satisfaction. I was in a vehicle accident and was referred to exline because they specialize in off road vehicles. I took it to them with the specific instructions to inspect rear axle housing, driveline, transfer case and any other components that may possibly have been damaged by the impact. I had asked to speak with the technician assigned to my vehicle, which was ignored. I sat in the waiting room for about an hour an a half. At which point the woman at the front desk gave me the keys to their shuttle vehicle because they do not have a shuttle driver. She called me at around 330 to inform me that my gears had been completely rusted out and that I would need to have them and the lockers replaced. There was no inspection of the areas that I had requested. I asked for pictures and was told they would be provided when I had the services completed. At this point I still have not spoken to the technician. I requested that they put the rear differential cover back on so I could pick it up because I did not have a rental. This inspection was meant for an insurance claim, not for an upgrade or new work to be performed, I feel that they saw a female and thought they could pull one over on me. I have requested my money back from them, and have not received so much as a response back. I took it to another mechanic for a second opinion and was told, with pictures included, that my gears were fine and they did not need to be replaced. Thankfully the mechanic I took it to was an upstanding person and not trying to make a buck off of a female. read more

I upgraded my suspension on my Audi A4 to a sport suspension made by an aftermarket company that was very reputable for Audi cars. When I installed it, I took it to a personal mechanic friend of mine who wasn't able to do the alignment he told me not to worry about it and that it would be no big deal. Two months later I noticed that three of my tires had lost their tread completely. I took my car to just tires in Fairfax and they changed all four of my tires and told me that my alignment was really bad and that was the cause of my tire wear. They told me because I had an aftermarket suspension They were not able to do an alignment for me due to liability issues. I took my car to three other tire shops to see if I can get an alignment and they all said the same thing so I was beginning to think and believe what they were saying that my suspension was not made for this car and I have to go back to the stock suspension. I called one of my friends who is an expert with this kind of stuff and he referred me to Exline automotive. When I took my car there I told them exactly what happened and what was the outcome of my last three visits to the mechanic shops and they told me not to worry that they can get it up there on the rack and they'll take care of it as soon as possible. I took my car there the next morning dropped it off at 8:30 AM and due to a hectic schedule that day I was in desperate need of my car being done as soon as possible. They called me a mere two hours later and told me that my car had been finished and there were no problems and everything was good to go. I showed up to pick up my car I saw the report my alignment was absolutely perfect and my car drives amazing now. I could deathly tell the difference in the drive and I am forever grateful for Exline automotive for giving me such a hassle free stress-free experience. I have never had a better experience at a mechanic in my life. I was driving south on 95 on my way home for a funeral and hit a piece of tire in the road it took my front license plate off and caused my engine splash guard to start dragging under my car. At 09:30 in the morning I tried two other shops who said it would be over an hour and cost north of $50 to just take off the one screw on the cover. I called Exline and they said they had a jack open and to bring it in. I was driving away back to support my family in under 5 minutes.
