I took my gl450 for rear suspension malfunction and it was incorrectly diagnosed as airbags failure instead of valve block which was causing the issue that was identified by another shop and was fixed. I brought my 2018 Audi A4 here back in the summer. My car was producing a burning smell and AC wasn't working. Jeremiah took care of me the whole way with full transparency on the recommended actions, prices, pictures, and timely communication throughout the whole process. I took our Porsche Macan S to German Auto Specialists in Fairfax, VA. Jeremiah worked on the car. I found him not only to be an expert mechanic but extremely honest as well. He installed new front brake pads and cabin air filters and also did the 4-wheel alignment. I asked Jeremiah to verify whether the front and rear control arm bushings were in fact worn out (as claimed by another off-dealer German car mechanic in our area). Jeremiah checked them out and sent me pictures of the bushings--there were slight wear since 2015 but replacement was unnecessary. That saved us at least $1,000 in needless "repairs". Can't recommend Jose enough. My 2017 Audi A4 was leaking transmission fluid. It was a slow leak but after a couple of bottles of transmission fluid, I knew it was time to get it fixed. Knowing that the Audi dealership would have me over a barrel (my warranty had expired), I did a google search for "best mechanics near me" and German Auto popped up. Turns out his shop is only a half mile from my house! Even better, he was a master mechanic at the Audi dealer I used to bring my vehicle for repair before he opened his own shop. While German cars are never cheap to fix, Jose charged a reasonable price to replace the faulty water pump that was the culprit. But it was his honesty and work ethic that won me over. He even let me pick up the car after hours and took the extra time to make sure that it was done right. I highly recommend German Auto if you are in the Fairfax area. read more

If I could give a 6 star rating, I would. Jose is amazing, and he earned my trust very quickly. I needed a new clutch for my Audi, and he talked me through all of the options. He charged me a third of what the dealership quoted and about half of what another trusted mechanic quoted. He said he could do that because the parts came in a box that didn't say Audi on it. (Thank you Jose!) Also, I then added on an annual maintenance request, and an issue arose during the process. They ended up needing to keep my car longer, but Jose covered the cost for those extra parts. He has a client for life. read more

I brought my suv in with some spark plug issues and a fuel leak. They told me it would be nearly $3000 to fix the car and $1600 just to run diagnostics. I refused the service since the car ran fine before I brought it in. When I came in to pick it up my car it didn't run at all. The accelerator didn't respond and the car was shaking like a leaf. Furthermore, when I went to step into my car to start it up the staff were all breaking their necks looking at me and smiling. At this point the only option was to pay the $3000 he was claiming to costed to fix or scrap the car. I had to pay for the inspection on top of the towing fee it cost to lug the car off of the lot. Jose was very unsympathetic and disrespectful and it seems very unlikely that the car would have stopped working on its own. I have brought this car into many repair shops and have never experienced anything like this. I can only hope that this review will dissuade others from bringing their car into to be taken advantage of. read more

Jose has to be one of the most confident, professional, and skilled mechanics I have ever met! My usual repair shop diagnosed my C300 4Matic MB with a broken and rusty rear subframe. They quoted me at least $3500 for a used sub-frame assembly and for labor. They said any part they could find would also be rusty and that I would probably have this same problem within 2 years. That didn't sit well with me. I heard that the Mercedes Benz dealer would have charged more than $6,000 to put a new part in, but that didn't sit too well with me either, so I started calling around. Jose found that same part for less and took care to note the condition of the part before it arrived. He told me when the part came in his guys would clean any rust they found inside AND they would also treat the part to prevent rust from occurring in the future ... This is something Mercedes Benz should have done in the first place, but that's another story! After the repairs were done, Jose discovered that another mechanic had put my rear tires on incorrectly! He had his guys take them off and re-install them properly and he didn't even charge me for that! It is so hard for Ladies to find a mechanic we can trust.
