He made the whole process so easy, and after dealing with a traumatic car theft, he went above and beyond to reassure me and make the whole situation less stressful. I had an excellent experience with Murphy's. My car was stolen a few months ago and it was very damaged when found. I had a choice from my insurance to go with their recommended shop or my usual shop right by my house. I toyed with the idea of switching but decided to go with the insurance's recommended shop (Murphy's) out of convenience...this turned out to be the BEST decision ever! Dominic and his team patched up my car beautifully. At the time they did not have a certain part (mostly cosmetic) so they had to order that. I was still able to pick up my car and go about my life. Even as the months went by due to my life getting busy, Dominic still checked up on me to communicate that the part was in and if I would be coming by. He truly went above and beyond because he wanted to make sure it was a complete job. He was always professional, communicative, and so friendly to boot. Can not say enough good things about this business. From the first phone call until the job was done everything was handled professionally and efficiently. I really have no complaints. Went in to have a spoiler fixed on my Toyota after it was damaged in a parking accident. Was given an appointment, met a representative there and he texted me throughout the process with updates on when the part arrived etc. When it came time to get it fixed, the whole thing was done within 30 minutes. No extra charges, no sale person trying to get me to buy something I didn't need and, most importantly, they treated me like I mattered. Highly recommend this DC business. read more

I brought my car to murphys after a car accident. The insurance was slow to settle but that's normal I guess. I picked up my car and the next day noticed I could not connect over my car Bluetooth for phone calls. I immediately called Murphys to let them know. I dropped my car off a few days later. Picked up my car and it's not fixed. After three times and it's not fixed, they started to blame me for breaking it with a real attitude. I finally gave up on that issue. I have since discovered other more serious issues. My exhaust was damaged and now my car makes a loud clicking noise when turning and it's getting worse. I took it to a mechanic almost forgetting about murphys. The guy asked if the car has been in an accident lately, there's a frame issue. I told him over a year ago and he said it was never fixed properly. Don't take your car to Murphy's there's no accountability just excuses. Needless to say I paid to get the exhaust fixed, my Bluetooth doesn't work, and the clicking noise isn't going anywhere. read more

I Live in Washington DC, & have nothing but praise for Murphy's Auto Body on Good Hope Road. State Farm had me go there for a bid. I had the misfortune of having paint scratched in lines from the right rear door and back further, by an unknown party. Their bid was thorough, & accepted immediately by State Farm. I was also able to rent a vehicle from Murphy's. My car was a bright blue, & deep scratches, which had white paint from another vehicle, made it very obvious. When I went to pick it up they had me inspect that area. You could not see there had been any damage. I ran my hand across the area and neither could you feel anything. It looked like a brand new car. Thank you SO MUCH Murphy's Auto for a job well done. I highly recommend them for any service one might need. My mom initially took my bmw X5 here and almost immediately had issues with the establishment, they demanded us or the insurance pay them over $2,700 after the insurance company written it off as a total loss. Keep in mind, we wanted to KEEP the vehicle. Needless to say we neither we nor the insurance company wanted to fork over the significant amount of money. So after finally reaching an agreement (not paying anything) they gave us back the vehicle after they screwed around with my radio, (I can get over that) and leaving the car ALMOST COMPLETELY DRAINED OF ITS OIL. I'd expect this amount of childishness from a 4th grader, but needless to say I will never be returning here. read more

Murphy's was recommended by my usual mechanic after our car was hit and damaged while it was parked on the street. Although the repair took longer than expected because of supply chain delays (which were beyond their control), the staff kept me informed of the timing and were very responsive, kind, and easy to communicate with. Two days before heading out of town for Memorial Day, someone rear ended me on the way to work. Thankfully, I didn't experience any bodily harm, but the bumper (on my brand new car ) was definitely damaged and needed repair. I had no clue as to where to take my car, but the other driver's insurance, Geico, sent me to an adjuster at Murphy's. Not only was the adjuster's service top notch, the team at Murphy's were also friendly and professional. After doing some research on other shops in the area, I decided I'd have Murphy's do my repairs when I returned from out of town. I dropped off my car last Thursday. From then on, Christie kept me informed every step of the way. They ended up replacing my bumper with an entirely new dealership model. I picked up my car today, and my car looks brand new again. Man, I really didn't want to do this but.. here we are! And it's a shame that I had to leave such a review because I really did like this establishment but my third and last encounter with Murphy's was deplorable and the customer service, this time around, was the same, sad to say. My purpose for this review is not to badmouth this company and it's workers but to prevent anyone to fall into the same situation that I did. In the past year, I used Murphy's twice for two hit and run situations and all went well both times. The last and third situation, an individual backed their truck hitch into my grill, pushing it inward. But lucky to say there was no radiator damage or leakage of any sort. Geico (the individual's insurance) tried to send me to one of their preferred body shops but I strongly advised that they use Murphy's instead, seeing that that was the only body shop that I trusted with my car. I usually went through the same Murphy's rep when dealing with my car but this time, I was dealing with Delonte, which was no big deal. So this time, to get a proper estimate of the damage, Murphy's pretty much took the car apart to get a better look. which was expected. Upon seeing the damage and coming up with the estimate, geico decided to write the car off because the damage amount was too close to the purchase price. So geico wrote me a check for the car, which I purchased the car back. I made sure geico paid Murphy's for the time they spent on the car. I picked up the car on the day I was traveling, right before the shop closed. As I was driving home, I noticed that a light on my dash was coming on stating that windshield wiper fluid was empty (Murphy's drained it as they were taking the car apart and forgot to refill). No big deal, i also noticed that the wheel was loose, which left me feeling like I had little control of the car. Keep in mind, that this is a 70,000 mile Lexus which was taken care of and tuned up every four months and it was brought in for grill damage. On the day of the accident, the car was still driven by me the owner and monitored over a 24 hour period to make sure there was no leakage of any sort and there wasn't. I proceeded to email Delonte about the "new" issues, which took me 3 tries to get a response. At this point, I'm still not upset. Things happen so I just brushed it off. Upon informing him of the issue, this was where the slaps in the face began. I informed him that I was not looking for tune up but I would appreciate it if the shop could get my lexus back in the shape that I brought it in. I was told to buy some fluid and refill myself and as far as the wheel, have a mechanic run alignment and they could find/fix the issue. For problems that this shop caused?! I was beyond shocked and dumbfounded. Delonte's reasoning was that they could no longer work on a car that insurance companies written off... even though the new issues were caused by Murphy's improperly putting the car back together. I emailed Murphy's again, requesting the name of the owner and manager of the office. I did so twice in order to get a response. I was then told by the Murphy's rep that Manager and owner does not have a work email... think about that. Then, I was told that a manager was going to reply to the email thread, which was two weeks ago from this date. I have not heard from a Murphy's rep since.. even though I have emailed once again. So even though, they were paid fully to diagnose and come up with an estimate for my car, Murphy's did a rushed job and improperly put my car back together once they saw geico was going to pay out for the cosmetic damage.. And all of this happened because I referred Murphy's for the business. Once again, this review isn't here to badmouth them but to shed light on a situation that happened to me. I've done all in power to solve this issue cordially and amicably, but time and time again I was slapped in the face when bringing this issue to the front. with that being said, I cannot and do not recommend Murphy's to anyone. read more

The total cost of fixing the back bumper was $540.99 which our insurance covered. Was pleasantly surprised to see that they also cleaned the car both inside and out which was much-appreciated. Murphy's was on their list of recommended autobody shops and so I looked for reviews to make sure I was going to a good place. They do have many more Google reviews than here on yelp so I wanted to write a review here because they were stellar in customer service (Dominic was fantastic and so responsive) and their work was great. My car came back to me in perfect condition and they also cleaned the inside which was a nice surprise. I will recommend Murphy's in the future. read more

As with any auto body shop, I was a little skeptical before coming here because I am not that in-the-know on car parts or car repair processes. However, this place continued to surprise me throughout the repair process and I had a great experience with them. Everyone working there is professional and extremely helpful throughout the process, from those providing repair quotes (much better than received at a couple other locations), to those working at the front desk. Everyone kept me informed on every aspect of the car repair - payment process, insurance handlings, every single car part being ordered or repaired, and timing/updates of the repair. I received multiple calls throughout the process, from both the insurance rep and from the front desk, to give me updates of where they were at in the repair process and when the expected completion date would be. This made the experience much less stressful than I would have imagined. Lastly, they gave me an even better "deal" on the repairs after the fact, which was greatly appreciated. But, this was likely largely in part because of my boyfriend who tagged along and made it happen, so if he hadn't been there I doubt I would have gotten that deal. Either way, I'd likely return to this shop if I needed future repairs done to my car because of their service and, dare I say, prices. Great place! read more

Lemonade from a lemon perhaps--my car ended up here after a blowout and a second damaged tire caused by the BWI parkway--as a military person 200 miles from home. Even though my insurer's estimate said two new tires and an alignment, I wanted the work done by a body shop in the event additional damage was discovered. The default GEICO shops were not well reviewed, but Murphy's was. I drove further to get there, but it was worth it. Customer service interaction was solid. I requested that they *not* wash the car or otherwise fiddle (I detail my own cars). They didn't blink and stuck to my request. Despite my repair being relatively low margin for them and my pressuring them to get it done quickly (because I needed to get home), they agreed to take the job. They said they would call with an update at lunch the next day--and they actually did! They said they'd get it done by the end of the next day (1.5 days total). They did. Despite a delay in getting the replacement two tires delivered. I took delivery and was greeted by someone legitimately seeing how things were. I gladly recommend people come here. read more

DO NOT USE THIS ENTERPRISE!!! They have a policy stating that if you return your vehicle to an Enterprise employee at a satellite office (where you pick it up), any damage done to the vehicle (even after you've turned it over to an Enterprise employee) is your fault (even if the damage was done knowingly by a third party). You will be billed without being contacted, and the damage will be repaired before anyone is able to view the damage or be interviewed about the damage). Murphy's Auto Body and Marlow's Auto Body have a scam to "fix" damaged cars and charge you for the damage. Save yourself a nightmare of having to sue this location just to get refunded for the car. BTW, this is a Geico approved location that I was forced to go to because the woman who hit my vehicle had Geico. Murphy's Auto Body took 49 days to fix my rear quarter panel. When they were finished, I couldn't use my seat belt because they broke it. Yes, I made them fix it. But they did a terrible job on my window tint and paneling. And, it was filthy when I got it back. read more

This has been edited, after a body shop rep. contacted me after a few initially un-returned phone calls (once the review was up). reflecting mostly on the workmanship, The quality is fair; as other reviewers have posted on yelp/google. My car was getting fixed there under car insurance - thank god. Since replacing the window some of the electronics are failing. The mirrors don't move sideways, using the interior buttons, so I will not be taking the car back, and instead use a BMW shop for further repairs. Some of the valuables were missing when I came to pick up the car. I had done some previous research (other reviews mentioning this body shop and items missing), and removed my Ipods and laptop. I had left three different chargers in 2 different locations in the car. The car was seemingly rummaged through and all three were gone. Good thing, I took all really expensive items out. It was frustrating to have lost all three chargers... Of course, the shop claims they don't know who had access to the car or who did it. They may have a point, the tow truck company did have access to the car over the weekend. Make your own conclusions. read more

The work they did on my car was fine and everyone I spoke with was an absolute professional, but they're getting 2 stars because they returned my car to me in filthy condition. There was a whole bag of greasy food sitting on my front **leather** seat when I got in. The grease had leaked through the bag. Not only that, there are oil slicks all over my interior. STAY AWAY! Not a shop I'd do business with EVER AGAIN! I recently had my car "repaired" by Murphys Auto Body in SE, DC through GEICO. They failed to notify or give me any status update on my vehicle. After I initiated the conversation with them it was delayed more then a week past the expected time finished. When I did receive my car back they did not fix areas that have been damaged. They agreed to fix it. 2 days later the door handle they replaced fell off. They also said they would replace. keep in mind I had to bring it back every time for them to check the damage then come back to get it fixed after they ordered the new parts. Note: I had a 9 month old with me every time. My interior door panel is also loose now.... BAD AUTO BODY SHOP!!!! THIS WAS THE 4TH TIME OUT FOR 1 INCIDENT! GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!! read more
