Today my mom and I decided to bring my 6yo and 8yo daughters with us. It was around 5:45 and the business closes at 7pm so we were prepared to be turned away at the door what with 4 pedicure requests and no appointments. Donna (nail tech's name) did an impeccable job! I came in for a manicure and her work to clean up around my nail beds/cuticles and shape my nails were so good that I decided to for-go any color on my nails and went with an all natural look only adding clear nail polish. Her skills reminded me of a Russian Manicure, something I can't find in any of these local nail salons. This used to be my go to nail salon! I loved coming here. The customer service was great, Jamie did a great job on my nails and it's close to my home. Well the past 3 times upset me. The first one was I made a reservation and I waited an hour additional. Then the next time I was a walk in and another wait (didn't mind since I walked in) then today I had an appointment. I sat down 10 min prior to my appointment to be told that my nail lady was 30 min behind. You would think that someone would of told me ahead of time prior to coming in or even you know not take someone in right before the appointment. I decided to leave because I needed my nails done by a certain time and went with 3D nails which is 5-7 min away from this location. Such a huge disappointment! I always call to book a appointment. Like most of us I have a busy schedule and sitting and waiting on a nail technician is not a good use of my time. Mindy has kept me waiting long periods of time twice now. The first time she was 40 mins late and I sat. Yesterday I called was told yes she has a 2pm appt available went in. I arrived at exactly 2pm. I was left waiting on her for the next 25 minutes. Needless to say I passed on getting my fill. Professionalism is about respecting and valuing your clients. This woman seems to think her clients should wait on her? I am reasonable 5 or even maybe 10 minutes ok. But not what you are doing now. No wonder your shop struggles. You don't get it! I asked her if she minded if i shape them real quick before she started putting powder on. I wanted to cry from the pain. I had not had gel for 3 years and had them done since January due to job interviews. By April and may my nails got damaged. I had naturally nice long nails. Now they are beyond thin, short, brittle, yellow (never had that) and what seems to look like fungi. I say that because the nail bed under the nail is no longer attached to my skin. They look so bad. I was borderline crying my entire nail appointment. I was seen right away for my full set which was the only good thing about my appointment. I don't even know where to begin. Throughout my visit I had 3 different lady's. No one knew how to do ombre. When I got to my third lady to actually begin the ombre right after applying the plastic fake nail, she began doing the acrylic right away without shaping or filing my nails, so when I asked her about my shape she just said "oh ya I forgot". While I was getting the colored acrylic put on I had to close my eyes and put my head back because I was about to start crying and laughing because they were turning out soo bad. The acrylic was so watery and my nails were soo bumpy. I asked her to smooth them out and she knew I did not like them at all. Towards the end without asking she puts sparkles on my nails, and I was okay with it because they were looking awful anyway, and they did look better with the sparkle. And so once my nails were all done my lady top me $45 the cashier told me $50 and then First Lady walked up and said $55. half of my cuticles were bleeding all my nails are different shapes and they charged me $55!! Scheduled an appointment. First time going to this salon. Worst appointment in my 30 yrs of getting my nails done, which by the way, I do religiously biweekly. Getting a simple gel manicure on my natural nails that I keep trimmed. The technician Donna was the rudest nail tech I have ever encountered. She wanted to up sell me to get a warm gel manicure. I was unfamiliar so I was asking a few questions to understand what it was. She kept telling me it was better, make nails strong and long. I explained I didn't want long nails. She seemed to start getting angry. I asked her to be careful with the surface if my nails as they are very thin when she started with her filing drill. Again with the warm gel sell. She started to file by hand my nails, didn't ask how long or shape I wanted. I said could you please cut them down to match the shortest nail I have which I showed her and to give them an oval shape. She cut them down and filed. Then she takes my hands and shoved them up towards my face and say you like? I said they are a bit square can you round the corners some. She is filing away and then asked me again. They looked like 10 completely different filed nails. No two alike. I said maybe just a little more oval vs square. She said someone else do you. She cleaned up her station and left me there with terribly filed nails and with 1/2 done gel removal. She said all others are busy now you wait someone else do you. I said ok I can wait. So as I waited I filed my own nails to the shape I wanted. About 15 min goes by and nail tech Nancy comes over and says, you go somewhere else. We busy now and when we done 7:00 we close you go somewhere else. I looked at this person in bewilderment. Hello, what just happened here all I wanted was a very simple gel manicure with oval shaped, trimmed nails. I tried this salon because close to home and a few good yelp reviews.
