I love this spot! I usually only get the chicken breast kabobs which are amazing! It's fresh and juicy pieces of meatZ The salads are fantastic as well, the dressing they used is perfect. It's light and citrusy. The hummus and jalapeño hummus are a perfect pairing with the chicken and salad. I worked for a company where we placed large orders here almost every other day. From the CEO to the warehouse employees, everyone ordered from here. It's affordable and very great quality. They give you a good amount of pitas and just a very friendly restaurant. They never got an order wrong and were always nice to deal with. Only negative is they are getting popular so sometimes deliveries take a bit longer and the phone lines are packed around lunch time. But if you have time to stop it, then do it! It's a great spot. read more

I dined here about a month ago and I gotta say it really isn't that great. My opinion is definitely in the minority based on the other reviews but I need to point some things out. First: They label themselves a Cafe but they really are not a Cafe at all. Sure they serve coffee but so does the gas station. I have been to some exceptional Armenian Cafes before and this is surely not one of them. The food; I had the chicken breast kabob. Although the flavor was fine I was unable to finish eating it as the chicken was pink inside. I really didn't want to risk eating undercooked chicken. The rice had a decent taste to it, however it was microwaved and they weren't even shy about it. The cook literally scooped up a bowl of rice and set it in the microwave right in front of me. Finally the beer taps need to be cleaned. I would not recommend getting anything off tap here. There was a strong vinegar odor and taste to the beer when I went. A tell tale sign of dirty taps. The staff was very friendly and despite it's lack of freshness the food did have a decent flavor to it but that really doesn't make up for the fact that you are just getting re-heated food. You can clearly see stuff laying about in the kitchen waiting to be served like a cafeteria instead of being made to order like you would expect. This place is cheap for a reason and that reason seems to point to cutting cost at the expense of freshness and quality. Not to mention the decor looks to have been purchased from a cheap garage sale in the 80s but I try not to base my review on atmosphere I just thought I should mention it. read more

I work a couple of blocks from Tonir, and tried it for the first time yesterday. The food is amazing! I had the chicken breast kabob with hummus and pickled beets. The hummus is the best I've tasted and the chicken breast was tender, moist, and seasoned to perfection! Great food, great people. I doesn't get much better! I will be back! read more

This is by far my favorite Mediterranean food place. The flavor is on point on everything I've had. I love their rice and I'm a lil picky with that. They put a lil somac on it, omg. The chicken, and pork on kabobs or Lule are bomb.....the lamb is meaty and mouthwatering! It's all so delicious! I went into the space Tonir Cafe now occupies when it was still a bar serving Mexican food. I was a little apprehensive to return because of the condition it was in as a bar. To my surprise, the Tonir Cafe did an incredible job with their remodel. The restaurant is now in great shape, clean and very comfortable. The staff is always super friendly and provides excellent service. I like to get food to go and relax with a beer while I wait; they have Pilsner Urquel on tap, one of my favorites. The food is affordable and delicious, with huge portions- we always have leftovers. We are extremely happy Tonir Cafe has moved into our neighborhood!! read more

The beef and chicken lule are so so yum. The rice is fluffy and well seasoned, the option of jalapeño humus is tasty, and the cucumber yogurt is refreshing. Horrible experience, take out was to be ready by 1210 waited 20 min for order to be ready and after ordering over $180 dollars worth of food to go they still had the audacity to charge me $2 dollars for 4 cups of garlic spread. I ordered Beef Lule plate and Chicken Lule plate and both the meat and chicken had an old taste to it. As if it were old meat. The Tabule was dried I had to add lemon to it. I should have asked for a refund and walk out and I regret not doing so. I've heard so many rave reviews about this restaurant, their food and their service. I was absolutely disappointed. My family has been very intentional about supporting restaurants during the pandemic and have extended a lot of grace when there were issues....understaffed, missing items for take out orders, items made incorrectly. I know times are tough and everyone is just trying to survive. I decided to try Tonir Cafe for the first time tonight and ordered online. One item was not available but I was fine with that. What I have issue with is that LA County has an indoor mask mandate and yet all three of the employees that I saw had no masks on. They saw me with my mask yet they weren't following the county mandate to wear masks. Sure, maybe they are vaccinated but that is not the mandate. The mandate is that everyone wears a mask when indoors. If they don't care to follow this safety precaution *during a pandemic*, I have no reason to trust them to follow other safety rules. And the food wasn't great. All I tasted was lots of pepper. read more

I finally got a chance to try this place the food was amazing I've tried this place twice and I would recommend it to people although somethings didn't sit right with me. For one the woman that rung me up looked bothered that she had to get up from the bar and what she was doing to give me my order and she wasn't wearing a mask inside as well and the other employees one woman had her mask on her chin and she was handling the food and the other employee the same hanging by his ear and the man in the back bringing back the chicken didn't wear one at all. I mean I understand the struggle for restaurants right now which is why I try to direct call these places so they get the full sale instead of third parties.
