Danish Pancakes - ricotta, parmesan, lemon zest and blueberries. Fluffy and delicious. Served with specialty whipped butters.

Charming old fashioned diner with delicious food, fast service, and decent prices for 2026! My husband had a cheeseburger which was delicious and quite large. I had the Dutch Pancakes that were served with whipped strawberry, pumpkin, and cinnamon butter. The pancakes were ultra fluffy. The menu says they are "famous" pancakes and I would not doubt it! We went after a visit to the Brooklyn Museum. A 7 minute walk. Highly recommend!

this was my first time trying tom's diner. i arrived on a weekend around 3 pm and ordered the eggs florentine. the food was honestly incredible. i also sampled pancakes and a sandwich. everything felt very hearty, homemade and was perfect for a weekend brunch. the interior of the restaurant has a very close-knit, warm and welcoming appearance. i really enjoyed my lunch/brunch here. of note, i didn't have to wait for a party of four. the place is cash only so just plan beforehand. i would hundred percent come back & i strongly recommend trying the pancakes.

A true community staple and the recipe is simple: at home like service, amazing food, large portion sizes and FAST!! That's what Tom's is. No gimmicks, no influencers. Straight to the point FOOD. Cash only but there's an atm on site. I loved the cherry mix. I got the chocolate cake French toast yummy. Home fries, omelet, bacon. Classic mixed with razzle dazzle. Waiters work together as a true team. There was no line when we went mid morning on a Wednesday. Great for families, singles, EVERYONE

Cash only. Quick service. Friendly staff. Delish food. I had to make this review quick and simple because that's what you'll experience at this restaurant. The menu is simple with a lot of typical breakfast food options. The food comes out soo quick and fresh. There's an atm at the restaurant also.

Mushroom Omelette and side turkey sausage split down

This review is for take-out. I ordered a mushroom and cheese omelette with home fries and turkey sausage on the side. They gave only one sausage split down the middle and for 8$... I can walk to the grocery store and get a whole pack of sausages for that price. Everything was severely under-seasoned and dry. And the home fries had a strange chemical aftertaste. I'm pretty saddened by my delivery experience since I've gone in person and had their sweet potato pancakes and was blown away by how moist and fluffy they were. Maybe their sweet breakfast items are better than their savory dishes.

Great food and service! The waiter was super nice and the ambience was cozy. We found parking easily. Would definitely go again!

A solid diner with very generous portions in Brooklyn. We made the mistake of both ordering an eggs dish + french toast/pancakes, and were stunned to see so much food come out and weren't getting close to finish. Food was decent; the scrambled eggs came out more like a omelet (??) and fries tasted frozen but the pork sausage was pretty good. French toast I felt wasn't particularly special and even if I wasn't already so full likely wouldn't get it again. Great value for the meal, but compared to other diners I've been around the city not my personal favorite - still a super vibey place and will likely come back. BTW - cash only

In NY visiting my favorite person and she suggested this place for breakfast. This is the definition of a mom and pop spot. Very small inside but the food slapping. They have a bit of outdoor space as well but it was a soggy Saturday so we opted for inside. It was packed, I would say no more than 25ppl capacity, but surprisingly we waited less than 15mins for seating for 3. At noon on a Saturday you can't ask for more than that. We had: My friend - streusel pancakes - 10/10 the minute I bit into this pancake I realized I made the wrong choice. The pancake was light and sweet even without syrup. Me - BBQ blue burger - 7/10 - it was juicy and the size was worth the price for sure. I give it a 7/10 because it wasn't a meal and the burger could've been seasoned better. You only get the burger but can add lettuce, tomato and fries for an additional $6. We both had some lemonade mix, I wish I could but they were both good, not overly sweet but refreshing. I'd def come back and try their lemon pancakes, the description for these sounded divine.

Place is very old school, cash only and unassuming. The menu is pretty big with lots of options for breakfast or lunch. I was a bit hungover and was feeling ravenous, thus I ordered two dishes. I've had better huevos rancheros honestly, and should've opted for one of their omelette as instead. The pancakes and bacon were excellent and hit the spot. Service was chill and polite. Will definitely come back and try some of their lunch items next time.

Just your neighborhood restaurant with some down home cooking. I wanted to come on here and shoutout the exceptional customer service. Although the food was good, the cherry on top was the host and server.

I had always wanted to try Tom's. Not the one in Coney Island, but this one, here in Prospect Heights! The vibe is very old school, 1960's greasy spoon, with letterboard signs and a long breakfast bar countertop. There are tables for sitting at as well, in case you plan on having a group of people dining in. The food has an old school taste to it as well. Humongous pancakes that are fluffy and full of that flavor that only a greasy spoon can create. Two is the perfect amount. Three might work, but after that you are asking to be put in a food coma. The bacon (I got turkey) is thick and juicy and plentiful. I enjoyed this more than I thought I would. The eggs are a bit runny but taste good as well. Pretty hard to screw up eggs, but I have been to restaurants where they have, so never say never. The rest of the menu items look completely satiable. Pricey, but I could eat the whole menu if not for the fact I am not made of money and am mortal, just like the rest of you (sorry if I offended the robots). Now if only they took credit cards, I would be here almost every weekend (disregarding it takes two trains for me to get here). Tables also go fast, and they close early, so come early or during an off time. Your stomach will be thankful.

    Crab Cakes Florentine Combo

The place was packed as it always is; a line to get in and seated so they must be doing something right. My pancakes were delicious and fluffy so go for the pancakes if nothing else. My friend's crab cake Benedict...well, you can see the picture, it was fried to all hell and I don't even know what that was supposed to be on top...cheese? Sauce? Cheese sauce? No clue and I didn't even want to taste it. Our server was polite and kept the coffee coming. It's cash only and the ATM was broken so that was a huge pain in the ass, but it was nice to say I visited the Toms Diner from the Suzanne Vega song and they have the lyrics and other cool stuff on the walls. I won't go back though.

And the Cryin Ryan caught me by surprise . It had a nice spicy kick to it. Very hearty and filling. Service was cool. There was only one person working who was running the bar, the register and the tables so while I wouldn't expect multiple check-ins ...the owners were walking around greeting tables. They were friendly and inviting. The vibe is really relaxed. Very chill . As far as logistics . Street parking . It's Brooklyn so hit or miss depending on day/time. Aunts et Uncles: Vegan food that doesn't need a disclaimer…read more Baby, that loaded baked potato?! One of the best things I've eaten at a vegan restaurant. Period. A strong 9.5/10, and I don't hand those out casually. The peanut butter cauliflower was a close second--absolutely delicious, just a little pricey for the portion. The lasagna was a solid 8/10. Flavorful and hefty despite its lighter ingredients. Unless you're skipping appetizers, prepare for leftovers. Fair warning: it's saucy and doesn't travel particularly well. I also noticed an aftertaste I couldn't quite identify, but nothing that ruined the dish. The mac and cheese? A 6/10 for me. The flavor fell flat, though my dinner companions thought it was decent for vegan food. They also loved their burger and the gorgeous steak-style sandwich with chimichurri and avocado. The sandwich looked delicious, but the portion didn't quite justify the price for me. Now, the sorrel cocktail? A 9/10. Easily. What would make it a 10? A bit more alcohol. I couldn't really taste any. It gave mocktail. My girls did enjoy their wine, though! Service was very warm and friendly, although the packed crowd meant extended waits once we placed our orders. The space is beautiful, cozy, and elevated, but cramped in many areas. Between counter ordering and table service, expect people moving around you. Some patrons could use a gentle reminder that their behinds are not a complimentary side dish. The aesthetics are beautiful, the bathroom was cute and clean, and there's a small outdoor patio out front. They even had a DJ bringing block-party energy during our visit! I could easily see myself returning for breakfast, brunch, or a little café workday. What I love most, though, is the community-centered spirit and how the owners' partnership and love story are woven into the space. My final word: I judge vegan food by the same standards as everything else. No participation trophies just because it's plant-based. My ultimate test? Would I order it again, and would I return to the restaurant? Aunts et Uncles didn't need a vegan consolation prize or watered-down standards. Some dishes could use tweaking, and the portions don't always match the prices, but the standouts absolutely hold their own against non-vegan food. I'm already plotting my return. That loaded potato and I have unfinished business.

The setup is a little different from a full-service restaurant. You order at the counter, let the staff know if you're dining in or getting your order to go. If dining in, then find a table and wait for your name to be called. If you're seated farther away, they'll usually bring your food to you. For drinks, it's best to stay near the baristas towards the front of the store since those are typically called out separately. I ordered the Madeline omelette without the jalapeños. It was good overall but it could have used a little more salt. I also tried the matcha latte (which tasted a bit too milky) and I had to add extra sweetener, so I'd probably try a different drink next time. The pastries, especially the apple strudel and Boston cream donut, were both really good. Highly recommend the apple strudel.
