Tomato Pie Cafe's tomato pie is EXCELLENT! Husband and I decided to have a pig-out lunch and split the double portion tomato pie option, and also split a grilled cheese, just because it sounded so good. Both were very good, but the tomato pie was memorable and leaves me craving it every so often. Grilled cheese was typical of the new gourmet versions trending on menus these days. No complaints food-wise. Location was not the best for parking. We went a few months ago when it was warm out, and ate in the park across the street. The restaurant was so crowded at lunch between local business people and tourists, it would not have been pleasant to try to eat there. Had we gone in foul or colder weather, we probably would have eaten in the car (we had our doggies with us). The staff was neither overtly friendly, nor anything else. Kind of aloof because they were busy. Would have liked more engaging people, but not required. read more

I was super excited to try this cute little place. The name of it just made me want to go not to mention the adorable house it is in! I really wanted to give this place 5 stars but I just can't. We ordered the kids rainbow grilled cheese which that is definitely a 10/10. Super cute and fun for my daughter to eat. I ordered the Mac and cheese with tomato soup. The tomato soup is out of this world but the Mac and cheese is a 7/10. It's very oily and kind of hard. My mom ordered the tomato pie. That was very disappointing. More mushrooms then there were tomatoes. Nothing is seasoned so it's very bland. The butternut squash with chicken and goat cheese on a flatbread is not good. It was very mushy and the chicken is plain. No salt or pepper or anything. The flatbread was not cooked at all. I really wanted this to be sooo good but it wasn't. Their grilled cheese for adults is also boring. It's not buttery and delicious like how a grilled cheese should be. It's just cheese and bread. No butter nI think out of everything we had the soup and kids rainbow grilled cheese were the best things on the menu. Oh and almost forgot. The server wasn't that great. She was kind of rude and not very pleasant. She seemed like she hated us and everyone in the restaurant. We are part the service industry so we know all about bad days but We didn't ask for anything special, we didn't complain about the food at all to her and we were very nice to her. There was no reason to be so grouchy. read more

I'll begin by saying that our food was excellent. WHEN WE FINALLY GOT IT. 50 minutes waiting for our breakfast. At 9:50 on a Sunday morning, they were out of English Breakfast tea. Really??? Ordered meal right away; including two scones with thought of eating them first. But not only did they not come first, they never came at all. However, we were charged for them. Waitress "checked on us" 3/4 of way through our meal. At that time I asked for a refill on my iced tea (which I had in lieu of non-available English Breakfast hot tea) and I NEVER GOT IT. Terrible service; too long waiting for food read more

I'm giving them two stars for the food we ate there a year ago when we were in town. Today we didn't get to taste any food because after ordering we were still waiting for our food for 40 minutes. It was 1:10 when we ordered. There was no word from the waitress as to why the food wasn't being delivered- it was not overwhelmingly busy- maybe normal late lunch crowd. But the waitress not stopping to check on us or explain the delay was unacceptable. We walked out after 45 minutes and are down the street getting a slice of pizza. I would much rather have had the tomato pie flatbread I ordered(Husband ordered a veggie croissant) but 40 minutes with no word from the waitress? We will pass! read more

In case you live in Philly, like we do, the tomato pie is not a pizza with tomato sauce. It's an actual pie... with tomatoes in it. It is a very good pie with tomatoes, but it's an important distinction. Having said that: get the tomato pie, it's very good. Also had some kind of thick green tea shake that was awesome. There's something about this place that's just really good. I think it's how they season the food. read more

Quirky low key cafe where the fedora sporting waitresses need both hands to deliver your giant latte. Our stop here for breakfast was a hit. Tomato Pie Flipper is excellent. Makes for a very savory breakfast, and causes the Greek flipper to look mediocre by comparison. I'd easily come back here for lunch. read more

Simply delightful, the food, the service and the atmosphere. Highly recommend the tomato pie. I had the watermelon mint beverage, seasonal but delicious and the spaghetti squash cheese cakes. Menu has a great variety and has many unique items. read more

I really like Tomato Pie. It is a really cool little cafe with a nice outdoor seating area and a very cool, old indoor dining room. I have been here several times and have had a pretty wide range of items. First, the Tomato Pie. Being from the Philadelphia area, I only know tomato pie to essentially be a variety of pizza. Here, the tomato pie is literally a pie made from tomatoes. The tomatoes are cut up, seasoned and put in a pie crust, then topped with cheese (a LOT of cheese) and baked. It took me about four visits before I ordered it. The result is good, really good. With that much cheese, it's hard not to be. Give it a shot, really tasty. The panini are solid too. I like the multigrain bread they use. Not all the sandwiches come on that bread, so I would highly recommend asking for that change. I've had an omelet here too, unfortunately it is the dreaded "egg taco" (ingredients placed inside the cooked egg rather than mixed into the egg before cooking. Still don't know why so many places do this). Other than that minor annoyance, everything I've had has been good. I really like their coffee too (Square One Coffee, never heard of it before but I have quickly become a fan). Definitely a go-to spot in Lititz. read more

I loved going to the cafe for years to order the Tomato Pie. I was so disappointed this time. The recipe changed...they had hunks of tomatoes, not thinly sliced. The crust was wet...my stomach has been upset since I ate it. read more

A few of my friends and I decided to meet up here for dinner. From the beginning, it was almost like we were invisible humans taking up a table. Our waitress was not very pleasant or attentive to our needs and rarely visited our table. We had to get up and ask for water and upon running out again (small bottles, but cute), never were offered to have it refilled. The food took longer than normal to come out but when it did, everything was as we ordered and quite delicious. read more

After reading some of the reviews I was expecting a regular size, full service restaurant, but it's more like a tiny and cozy coffee shop that seats like 30 and has 2 awesome waitresses serving really good food. I think we were really lucky to get here at 5:30 pm and find seating right away. The place got crowded in minutes and I could see some folks waiting for some time. Totally expected being, again, that cozy and small coffee shop we'd all love to have near our homes. I ordered the kisch of the day and a turkey panini and I'm super happy with my choice. The portions are generous but not too big and the dressing for the greens is amazing. My girlfriend ordered their trademark tomato pie and boy it is good! We didn't order desserts (even though they have like 10 different cakes and pies) and instead got a couple of their signature coffees and they were just the right choice. I'd gladly recommend this to anybody passing by Lititz and I'm definitely coming back. read more

Normally I would give tomato pie five stars, but today was different. I understand it is the holiday season & things are hectic, but our server was very abrupt, not friendly, and the hostess was impatient and blatantly complained in front of us that she was annoyed that the two people were missing when we were seated, slapping her hands on the sides of her hips with an irritated tone. ( even though they were just walking in the door). It was my mothers 50th birthday and I just wanted a good experience as I usually do when I go to the establishment. The tomato pie was soggy and didn't seem finished. Very sad because this is one of my favorite restaurants! I probably won't return for a little while. Overall: don't go if you have large parties, don't go during the holiday season, probably better during an early morning before it gets too busy. read more

What an adorable local place with a super gourmet and totally healthy menu. The quinoa pancakes with blueberries and lemon curd were delicious. Their fresh tomato and mushroom breakfast pie was so satisfying. Too bad we didnt take pictures we ate the whole thing. Great service and friendly staff. read more

While on a business trip in Lititz, PA, my boss suggested that I have breakfast at the Tomato Pie Cafe - I got into town late and was driving around and happened to drive past, so I went in for dinner. I just had a cup of tomato basil soup - it was very good. The next morning I drove down to have breakfast on their patio - french toast was wonderful and their outdoor dining was so relaxing. They have the tables decorated with small cherry tomato plants as the center piece - Very charming - fit the personality of the little town. read more

We stopped by for a late lunch after walking around town for hours and are so happy we did. This is certainly a very popular lunch spot in town. Earlier we had noticed a massive line for lunch and also read all the great reviews on line. Thankfully by the time we decided to eat, most of the crowd had gone away. My husband had the tomato pie which he said was amazing! I had a chicken and asparagus quiche which was very very good. We also shared a strawberry lemonade which was cool and refreshing. When walking in, one couldn't help but notice all the delicious baked goods. So after lunch we decided we had just enough space to share a slice of orange cake. It was good! If you are in downtown Lititz looking for a great spot to grab a bite to eat, we certainly recommend checking out this cafe. Just time yourself to avoid the lunchtime crowd. read more

While the food is quite good, the coffee and drinks are fantastic, the service is the downfall of this establishment. I work at a local business in Lititz, and frequent many local restaurants and shops for lunch. I have a limited lunch hour and often call ahead. Tomato Pie consistently can't get their times right. If you tell me 15 mins when I've placed my order over the phone, then I expect no more than a 5 minute wait when I come to get it. My last few visits have exceeded reasonable standards for wait times for carry-out meals. Most recently, a friend and I placed our order ahead of time over the phone and were give a 15 minute wait time. When we came in to get our food, we were told it would be 5 or 10 more minutes. We waited a total of 35 minutes. Total order time? 50 mins from the time we placed our order until we got our food. 35 mins beyond our quoted time. We've decided that from now on, we'll be taking our lunch hour business to other, more capable Lititz shops. read more

They don't always have servers outside, so check before you come if you want to sit outside! Food is delicious and the staff are friendly. Park somewhere downtown and enjoy what Lititz has to offer! read more

This place was the cutest! So sweet and accommodating (I had a sleeping baby in a stroller so they found a perfect spot for us). And, guys, the tomato pie is really really good. I don't even really like tomatoes! It's like a mix of the best gourmet pizza and... a pie. I might coming back to Lititz just for this place. Consider shipping to NY??? read more

Very cute setting in a converted house right in the center in Lititz. It's cramped and quirky, but totally worth a visit. The food is very good, tasty and fresh. Reasonable prices. Even the drinks like herb lemonade and moroccan tea were fantastic. And the savory herb scone that came as a side with our lunch was light and moist - not too crumbly. Wouldn't hesitate to come back again. I'll have to have the tomato pie next time! read more

Great place to stop for lunch or a good cup of coffee. Beware they have lots of hipsters wearing fedoras working here!!! So if you can look past that and enjoy some great food you have a good time! My husband hates tomatoes and loved the tomato pie! read more

Cute little cafe in a cute little town. Can't ask for more of a quintessential getaway from NYC! Didn't have a wait, asked to be seated outdoors in there patio/garden area which is extremely cute! The inside is cute as well. Very good menu, with lots of options. I ordered the spring mix flatbread and my husband ordered the tomato pie! Both were excellent choices! Tomato our came with a spring mix salad. We ordered coffee as well, I got the cold brew with milk and honey and my husband ordered the creme brûlée latte which is to die for!! Also, this is a byob place and they don't charge any corkage fee!! Awesome place, a must visit if you're in town. read more

We were from out of town, and it was our very first time in Lititz. We were starving and went in because the restaurant looked cute and inviting. I asked the first person inside if we could sit anywhere and/or if there was 'table service'. We were abruptly (and rudely) told to "Wait for the Hostess!" We waited a while and eventually and young woman walked up and told us she would seat us. We were seated outside by the Hostess who immediately vanished, however the noise/exhaust from the traffic was overwhelming, so we went back inside and sat at an empty table. The entire restaurant was empty of patrons except for us, there were 3 women behind the counters. We sat and waited and waited and waited and looked around for someone to help us (but we felt that must have been invisible.) We left after a while because we were embarrassed and shocked at how badly we were completely ignored by the working staff. We couldn't help but think, is everyone in Lititz this rude? read more

The coffee shop that hates to give out coffee. This is at least the 3rd time in a row that I've been here and had to ask for a coffee refill every single time. They DO NOT proactively refill your coffee here. Heaven forbid they are busy, or you will be waiting for even your first refill. Also, the food is getting less desirable all the time. A lot of it is pre made and simply reheated to serve ( dry, flavorless). Used to love this place. I guess all good things come to an end. read more

My daughter and I stopped by today for a Ladies Lunch and it was great. I had the quiche and fruit. The crust was flaky and amazingly light. She had the ham and cheese panini with greens. The table Lemon Balsamic from the shop down the street was so good we stopped in and bought it. Service was gracious. Loved getting our own bottle of iced water. Just wish the quiche slice was larger and the patio was cooler. We will return. read more

We had a horrible experience here. Was going in for a pick up order, the iPad that prints the tickets had died and not printed it. This was no issue to us however seemed to be for the woman behind the counter. After her showing she clearly only wanted to gripe about this and place the blame on us we cancel our order and left. We had no problem waiting or anything it was just very clear she didn't want to serve us. Would not recommend read more

Normally I would not eat anything in someone else's pie crust because I am always disappointed. As far as I'm concerned I make to best pie crust...been doing it for thirty years, but this crust was right on! Three outta four snaps for this one. Most of the time it's store bought, but not here. Stop in and try the tomato pie very, very good. read more

Tomato Pie Cafe - spinach and artichoke tomato pie with homemade chips and herb scone. Very good! - Salad Near Me - Lititz, Pennsylvania

Judging by the rest of the reviews and the number of people dining here, I'm convinced my visit today was a fluke. The visit started with a 5 minute wait that was closer to 30. We were sat outside rather than our indoor preference. The other hostess gave us a bit of attitude as well. The other negatives were that our drinks took awhile to come out. One of the guests didn't get a coffee until after entrees came out. Water cups smelled like bleach. Again server had a bit of attitude. I figured they may just have not been used to the volume of customers this Saturday morning. I had an egg shell in the first bite of my tomato pie omelette but I looked beyond that and the rest of the potatoes and sourdough toast was good. I really wanted to like TPC but today was just not their day. I recommend the tomato pie. I'd definitely try it again. read more

I would probably give 3.5 stars if I could but I'll round up to 4. We had a nice lunch today, though we did have to wait 25 solid minutes before a seat was available. Lunch was nice, but the mutual opinion was that it is a little kitschy. I had a November special, the stuffed acorn squash. It was good, though (and I don't usually say this kind of thing) it would have been better with some sausage in it. Hubby had the spinach, artichoke tomato pie which was nice, but probably not the best we've ever had. Kiddo had a pb&j on rainbow bread and a nice side of fresh fruit Overall it is a good lunch spot, though I don't know if it was worth the nearly 30 min wait. It is super tight in there too. Overall not a bad spot, just be forewarned and I find that always makes it more enjoyable. read more

Came here for lunch. The staff wasnt very engaging, but they werent rude. I had the specialty sandwich, a turkey brie sanwich with cranberry relish-it was very good, the only thing that threw it off were the apples in the sandwich.. the apples were delicious, but one too many additives in the bites. I ordered a red velvet whoppie pie to go for my guy. i think it looked better than it tasted. :( i wasnt blown away, but there was plenty of variety in the food choices. Go try it out. read more

Try the tomato pie, there's a reason they named their cafe after it! This was a popular place, with good reason, and there was a short wait, but it's worth it. The little town of Lititz is beautiful and this is a great place to stop for lunch while walking around. Good coffee too. read more

When in Lititz, this is THE place to grab a latte to go or enjoy a tasty bite to eat! The sandwiches are excellent and come with a choice of greens or chips. The price is very reasonable for a cafe - 2 cafe sandwiches, a single latte, and an iced chai latte all for $20! read more

This could have been a great experience, but they seated us next to a very loud party, and the waitress was poor at best. We were only offered one type of coffee, and told to look at the menu if we wanted anything else. We may try again, but the experience was so bad, we may not read more

Had a great lunch with friends today. Great atmosphere and service! Thanks for a nice lunch!

Nice little place. My wife and I had lunch there on the patio which was nice. Not a lot of room inside so the patio is a nice way to add some space. Had the turkey pesto panini which was delicious and nicely done. I look forward to going back. read more

Had the most pleasant experience dining here last night. The atmosphere is so lively and the servers were very pleasant. My mocha was served warm and our waitress quickly had them remake it. Came out 2 min later with a new mocha. I enjoyed 1/2 pesto turkey with a cup of tomato soup. Soup was very hot and paired well why my sandwich. My grandma sent her infamous tomato pie back to be reheated and the cook insisted on giving her a fresh hot slice instead. Overall a wonderfully experience and love coming here be it a cold snowy day or in the summer when it's hot and sunny!wonderful food. read more

Very cool, cozy atmosphere. We were able to sit on the porch and enjoy the view of downtown Lititz. The best thing is the "not your sloppy joe" I can't wait to come back and get that again.
