Salmon avacado roll, yam tempura roll, and chicken teriyaki roll.

Always such a pleasurable experience having sushi here. This is my regular spot for sushi. They have the best yam tempura roll EVER! The tempura in the roll is super crispy. They're gyoza is also delicious. Anything I order here is awesome. The ambiance is nice inside as well; they've recently renovated which was must needed. But honestly, I would've rated this place 5/5 regardless of the decor before. Service is also very good. The girl helping us came by to offer hot tea regularly and she was very sweet. We were there for over an hour talking and we did not feel as if they rushed us out at all. We took our time and really enjoyed.

Scallop cone... no mayonnaise or roe, just DRY and fishy tasting!!

I don't know why this place is always so busy. Take out orders still take priority over dine-in guests and the quality of food is so disappointing. I ordered a cone combo today. When did they stop using mayonnaise in the filling? The California cone was so dry, and I'm not really sure it even was the regular filling... just some shredded white stuff. The scallop cone tasted like an old fishing net and also had no mayo or roe, but was full of cucumber. I don't know when they changed but I couldn't finish the combo, it was just awful. Won't be going back to this place anymore.

takeout salmon teriyaki bowl, minus the teriyaki sauce.

I order takeout/delivery from Tobiko pretty often these days. It's one of the only sushi restaurants I've ordered from that knows how to cook a salmon teriyaki properly. I ask for no teriyaki sauce (due to food sensitivities), and Tobiko, unlike other sushi places, has never ignored or messed up my special request. The salmon is always cooked to perfection--never too crispy or too oily (it's much more healthy tasting). They serve it on a bed of sauteed lettuce, carrots and onions, with some broccoli on the side as well as a slice of lemon.

The service here was superb. Menu selection was alright. I ordered the tuna and salmon combo. Food arrived fairly quickly. The fish tasted fresh. Tea was refilled regularly. Pricing is average for the area.

Deluxe BC roll and california roll.

Fabulous! I've been going here for years! Interior is a pretty typical decor I find for small sushi places, with walls decked in pictures of staff and past customers. It's not a big place but it's cute and the staff is all very nice and attentive. I haven't ventured with too much of the food, I usually stick to the rolls, gyoza, tofu, tempura and ive tried a terriayki bowl as well. I've never had a negative thing to say about any of it. It's personally my favorite sushi place to go, it tastes fresh (at least to me but I am white and wouldn't know the difference between authentic and not) and the prices I find much more reasonable then most places. My favorite roll by far would have to be the Deluxe BC Roll, I have turned so many ppl onto it, it's basically a dynamite roll with smoked salmon and they drizzle a delicious sweet brown sauce on top that tastes similar to a terriayki sauce to me. I love it. And I absolutely always get the tiger sauce on the side, which is an orange spicy mayo sauce that I just can't go without. My best friend always orders the same items as well, which for her is the agadashi (sorry if I'm spelling this wrong) tofu (which is like deep friend tofu in sauce), terriaki roll, and yam tempura roll. She adores all of them, especially the tofu. It's a good beginner thing if you have never tried tofu before and you are wanting to try it for the first time. I go to this place multiple times a month, and they basically know what I am going to order as soon as I walk in now lol which is funny, they are all very sweet girls who work there. Loyal customer.

Tobiko is a good neighbourhood sushi place in the fleetwood area. Charming little place with a at home atmosphere, nice staff and decent prices. My favourite is the dynamite roll, and the chicken katsu dinner. My wife who is a vegetarian like the tofu teriyaki and the vegetable roll. Overall I would say that this is a better sushi place in the Fleetwood area. Give them a try!

Delicious dinner. My hubby and I like coming here as it's close to home. We enjoy the tempura, California and Dynamite rolls. Good service.

2 stars because the food was mediocre. Would've been 1 star for the service. Very poor customer service.

Tenpura - seafood (slice of fish, seafood stuffed vegetable and vegetable(shiitake) 9 pieces of sushi Daily miso soup - clam Dessert - kinako and mitarashi dango Chawan mushi was great. I can taste fish based broth and egg custard was very silky and smooth. Decent amount of ingredients sush as shrimp, slice of fish , bean and shimeji mushroom. I wish they served it slightly cooler than too hot. Ankimo - Great item. Monkfish liver was rich and paired with scallop and shrimp so well. Sauce was just ok. Grilled black cod was another great item. Crispy and juicy, just perfectly done. Blue fine tuna was covered by salty marinated sauce which was great when wrapped with seaweed. Cooked egg was just ok Tenpura - Seafood stuffed vegetable was my favorite. Others were also decent. Highlight and stand out item was 9 pieces of sushi. Honmaguro(bluefine tuna) was good. Shari(sushi rice) was nicely seasoned with vinegar, very mild and which I liked it. Tuna was delicious. Sea breem(MADAI) was another good piece. Delicious. Aburi Toro was nicely seared. I wish this item could be a bit more softer and buttery, but it was still good. Akaebi(red shrimp) and Hokkaido sea urchin - Lightly torched the top of sea urchin and its smokiness brought out more sweetness flavor of Akaebi(red shrimp) Hokkaido Scallop - Very smooth, soft and nice texture. Delicious. Kinmedai(Gold eye snapper) -- My favorite. Texture was very soft and chewy, It was great item. Hokkaido sea urchin - Actually, this one was just ok. I wish it could be more creamy. We love Japanese cuisine so I decided to surprise the hubby with an omakase for his birthday in January. Unfortunately, they have a 6-month wait and I was not prepared so I ended up booking it for our anniversary in May. The food was phenomenal and delicious! I love the chawanmushi loaded with goodies inside. The ankimo (monkfish liver) dish was so tasty with the scallop and prawn. Black cod was cooked to perfection! The nigiris are all so fresh. We quickly put ourselves on the waiting list for after September so we can come here again soon! There's a parking lot just next door. The place inside is small and intimate. Service is great!
