Before coming here, I really did not expect to like this place as much as I did. I assumed it was just going to be one of those hipster brunch places with questionable food quality. My boyfriend really wanted to come try it out and so we did. I ordered the smoked salmon cucumber toast. According to the menu, it is the most popular item. My boyfriend ordered the super Spanish omelette and it is HUGE. We couldn't finish it. The menu was really detailed which is super helpful. Each ingredient is listed and there are lots of vegetarian entrees to choose from. You like drinks? They have a lot of them! Lots of choices for everyone. I really enjoyed my avocado toast (aka the food of choice of millennials). It was a good size and if you upgrade to a meal, you can choose two sides. I highly recommend the potatoes. They were perfectly seasoned. Customer service was good. Although there was a wait, they were super nice and polite to everyone who waited. Our waiter was awesome. Cute brunch spot in Whittier! I liked the wide variety of breakfast/brunch menus they had, but the taste was just meh. We ordered two salmon (lox) toasts, one avocado & mozzarella toast, and a corn cheese toast. The quality and taste of all the toasts were average, but the drinks were superb! (Hence the 4 stars instead of 3.. :) It was a fun experience trying different toasts with avocado bases, but nothing really stood out to me except for the rose latte ;) Tip: if you drink coffee, plss get the rose latte. u won't regret. I've been here twice with my friends and we all really enjoy eating brunch here. The drinks here are pretty average, but the food is really good. I ordered an iced mango green tea and it came in a mason jar. I've ordered their classic eggs benedict when I first tried this place out and I remember really enjoying it. On my second visit, I tried their Cali Fresh Avocado Toast with a side of their country potatoes and bacon. They use really fresh and good quality ingredients when making their food and you can really taste it. The heirloom tomatoes were very fresh and their bacon is thick and perfectly cooked. Their bread is gluten free and they label which dishes are vegan, so it's a nice place for people who have dietary restrictions. Both times I was here, there was a wait time of 45 minutes so be aware of that before coming here at a busy hour. I would suggest calling in before coming in. The decor and logo on the wall is simple, yet cute. They use 100% natural lighting inside the restaurant, which is a good environmentally friendly aspect they have too. Best place for brunch in Whittier .. I love the rajas con crema toast with a side of country potatoes and the Mexican mocha. We came over during a Saturday at around 12 pm and were very lucky to find a table right away. Our server was very sweet and brought us drinks right away while we waited for the rest of our party to arrive. Somehow, we all ended up ordering the rajas con crema toast (6 in total) & our server explained our order might be delayed because they had to freshly prepare the rajas. We were okay with the wait since the food would be fresh. Well.. the waiting took a little longer than thought but our server kept on coming to check on our table and ask if we needed anything. When the food finally arrived, our server offered free French toasts or lattes to compensate the delay on our food which we all thought was very nice of her and the restaurant. When we were all done eating, our server came over with not one French toast but two! Two different flavors and we loved them both! Unfortunately, we didn't get our server's name which we totally regret because she was the sweetest girl ever and she deserves to be the employee of the month plus a raise !!! We love Toast ! The toast: big @$& slices of toast(rye was marbled) topped in many styles. I got the bacon up; avocado, tomato slices, red onion, crisp bacon, served with very good, runny eggs, sunny side up. Yes. The coffee: bleeping good, mild, but stiff, had mine with a little hot water, black. The way God intended coffee to be served. The service. A+. The servers are young but courteous, soft spoken. These Millennials were polite. Give them a raise, please. Everything from the fruit, to the juices, to the eggs, were of exceedingly high quality, the prices very reasonable. I'd imagine it's not the type of place I'd want to visit Saturday mornings due to the likely crowds, but outside of the issue this joint dishes out world-class brunch affair, regardless of the price point. Ohmagawd this place! So far the BEST brunch spot for egg benedicts! They have the widest selection of egg benedicts I've ever seen on a breakfast/brunch place. The egg was cooked to perfection. I literally do not wake up early enough to catch breakfast or brunch but so glad that I did for this. It's also a cute little place for a date! I took mine here for a little pick me up after a bad day and it was the perfect solution. We got the house Benedict (my fav) with a side of potatoes, bacon avocado toast with a side of sausage, and the simple breakfast classic. All fantastic. It was definitely worth the 30 min drive. The potatoes were so dry, the french toast had way too much cinnamon, and the drinks were watered down. Now on the service, our waiter was also a bit out it. She kept getting distracted and it took like 5-7 minutes for us to get seated. Also, their card system was down and on a day like valentine's day, our breakfast was disappointing. I am so impressed with Toast! The line seemed long on a Sunday brunch time but they have an online waitlist and it went very quickly. They are very efficient. They have indoor and patio seating. We sat indoor which was close seating but not where its uncomfortable. But the food! That warrants all the stars. We had the Classic Benedict with a side ceasar salad and the Strawberry Cheesecake French Toast. Everything was top quality. The Benedict was memorable, maybe the best I've ever had. The bacon was different and so tasty. The poached eggs were executed perfectly with a solid white and gooey yolk. The hollandaise sauce was absolutely fresh and made from scratch. Even the side ceasar was good. Homemade croutons, homemade dressing that was fresh and tangy but seasoned perfectly. Even the romaine was crisp with no bad parts and so fresh. The french toast is yummy brioche bread toasted perfectly with a cheesecake topping that is not overly sweet or tangy, just yummy. Then sweet thinly sliced strawberries and a dusting of powdered sugar. Served with syrup but I didn't need that. Perfect on it's own. The service was great, again very efficient. They had a sign saying they are short-staffed but you couldn't tell. Can't wait to go again. I want to try their whole menu! read more

So when I first started going to Toast four years ago I was so excited to have a great breakfast spot near me. Now, not so much. The food has been disappointing my last few visits. Undercooked eggs, sourdough bread barely toasted, very cold French toast, lukewarm lattes, even their delicious breakfast potatoes have been hit or Miss. To say this is disappointing is an understatement consider the cost to eat here. Maybe the kitchen should slowdown and actually cook fresh food vs having food sitting waiting for an order to be placed then delivered. I was surprised to find such a nice spot in Whittier. No offense to Whittier zealots, but I've always thought of it as being in the middle of nowhere. Why go to Whittier if you can just go to LA? I was a bit underwhelmed and sketched out by the Butterfly Unicorn Tea, as it was just iced tea with a ton of blue food coloring. It tasted just like a regular Arnold Palmer, so I'd probably just get that instead of this gimmicky tea. The eggs benny was good, but slightly overcooked in my opinion. Mexican coffee: we got it half sugar but recommend to get it unmodified. Avocado toast: it was just okay. I didn't like the tomatoes that came on the toast. I was looking for a new brunch spot with my boyfriend and I'm so glad we stumbled upon this restaurant because our food was so delicious and the service was great. We joined the waitlist on Yelp on the drive and didn't wait more than five minutes when we arrived/checked in, which was surprising because the place looked so packed. I wish I got the waitress's name, but she was nice and attentive (but not overbearingly). The food did take a little long to come out but everything looked and tasted sooo fresh, it was worth the wait!! I got the Smoked Salmon Cucumber toast which was delicious, and surprisingly unique. They add "micro-cilantro" so the toast has a mild cilantro flavor throughout and I thought that was interesting because smoked salmon and cilantro aren't usually paired together. If you're not a fan of cilantro, they have the Santa Barbara, which also has smoked salmon and no micro-cilantro. My boyfriend got the Rajas con Crema toast and it looked sooo good, he really enjoyed it. It looked like a cheese lovers dream!! It also wasn't too spicy because the poblano peppers were very underwhelming mixed in with all the crema. Price wise I think it's fairly reasonable, the amount of food you get is pretty filling, and I guess that's dependent on the person, but for me personally, I was stuffed. I give this place a 10/10 and I'll definitely be back again to try their other menu options. I highly recommend giving this place a try, especially if you're in the area. read more

Then the food finally came and we ordered the banana foster pancakes (pretty good), Nutella/sour cream + strawberry sourdough (pretty good), PB + banana w caramel sauce on sourdough (pretty good) but the biggest disappointment was my Cali toast. It was ok but the avocado was kinda tangy like they mixed real avocado w the "fake" avocado...? Idk but not what I expected. 3 stars because the kids food was good. Love coming here for breakfast/brunch, staff is really nice and attentive. We have been coming since 2018, I love the gluten free bread which I believe they sell the loaf to go. When ordering a latte they will ask what type of milk which is great to avoid any mistakes, sometimes I could forget to specify. We love the rose latte with almond milk and the Mexican mocha (I asked light on the whipped cream, with almond milk instead of regular milk taste just as good). We love the country potatoes. Let me start by saying that I cannot wait to return! I met up with a girlfriend here for brunch this past weekend and we both loved our entrees. We both ordered iced tea which came in a large mason jar but we did not get refills. I'm not sure if it's because they were not included or our waitress did not bring them. It's a hole in the wall in a dingy shopping center but it has a patio attached with plenty of seating. They specialize in breakfast / brunch so I recommend you put yourself on the Yelp Waitlist before heading over during breakfast hours. Seating is very close to one another inside but I'm sure they are just trying to fit as many people as possible. I also felt they were a bit pricey for the portion sizes even though the food was delicious. Service was good and our meals came out fast. My sister and I went here today and we had an awesome experience. We got ourselves into a waitlist through yelp and that was a plus because it was pretty crowded when we got there. The location may seem a little hard to find, but it's okay you can take a right turn and go in if you miss the entrance. It's basically at the corner of the mall. We were so hangry, we ordered like three dishes plus drinks for two. We got French toast, Chocolate pancake, and Santa Barbara egg benedict with orange juice and lavender latte. Since we both were craving sweets so much, we were so excited to try chocolate pancake and tbh you all should get it... It was super huge, even bigger than the plate and the taste was just awesome. With one bite, we were speechless. We didn't talk until we finished second, third, fourth bite and then we shared how good it was!! There wasnt much included that could have been paired with it, and considering the price I wouldn't recommend it. However, the potatoes are delicious. TIME: My party waited no more than fifteen minutes to be seated, but it took an additional fifteen minutes to receive our food. We called ahead of time to ask how long wait times were and they said there was not wait time. When we showed up in person, there was a wait to get your name on the waitlist. They were waiting for people who joined the waitlist online to show up before adding the name of the people who showed up on the list. I checked online to see what the wait list said and it gave us a 60 minute wait time online. There was another family who told us they were waiting for 30 minutes to be added to the waitlist.
