This morning we went to Toast for breakfast. It was 90 degrees outside and hotter inside. The wait for a Thursday morning was reasonable, about 15 mins. The service was extremely slow and not attentive. The food plentiful except the home fries were extremely salty and when I brought this to the attention of our server, she replied that is just the way it is. So in review, if you want to go for breakfast at a place that it is hotter inside than out, (at least the food stays hot) and you want to be served by someone with an attitude, and would like your monthly recommended sodium intake in just one sitting, go to Toast. read more

Love this place! Wonderful spot for brunch with friends. Service is always great and it's such a cute cozy little place to eat and catch up! Everything I have tried here has been so delicious- my favorite breakfast so far is the Splendid Benedict. They make a really yummy Peanut Butter Mocha too and their drinks come in the most adorable mugs! Above all else, it must be said that you are living life wrong if you come here and don't order the AVOCADO TOAST! I think about it way more often than I'd care to admit- it's just so amazing. Maybe I'm just having bad luck at this location. First time, no issues. Other than the fact that only almond milk is offered as a dairy-free option with coffee. (Almond milk with coffee is brutal. Just sayin.) Although there is french toast on the menu made with coconut milk, I was told that couldn't be an option. Hm. 2nd visit: We drove 30 minutes to arrive here, only to find a sign on the door at 1:15pm saying they were closed for the day. People were inside eating. 3rd visit: That same familiar "summer subway urine" stench was alive and kickin' in the hallway leading up to the hostess station once again. (What IS that?) Upon asking how long the wait would be, I noticed how hot it was in the restaurant. NO air-conditioning. Broken. I wonder how many people sat down, ordered, and THEN realized how uncomfortable the temperature was...but ended up getting stuck and having to stay because they already ordered. Always loved the Port Jefferson location. IF I continue to frequent Toast, I'll have to go there. read more

Let me start by saying me and my fiancee came here on a Friday afternoon. And though the food was Excellent (two French toasts and two mimosas) - I have to give some warning. 1. Loooonng waiting - if you have a party of more than two - you're looking for an even longer wait than the average 1 hr for two people. If you're not opposed to sitting at the counter. Our estimated 1hr turned to 10 mins when a counter seat opened and we took it. Not sure why people would have issue really - it's super cute and I'd say you'd get better service there. 2. Pretty pricey - literally all we got was 2 French toasts and 2 mimosas and the whole thing came to around $50 bucks (with the 15-20 tip you're supposed to give) So if you're looking to not spend that much and move in and out this place is NOT for you. But if you're looking to indulge and don't mind the wait (which isn't to terrible tho do around there - main st had a couple of shops to look at if you're so inclined) I'd say go for it read more

From the moment you walk in this place smells like shit, they need to fix the sewage system in the restaurant and get ventilation. I couldn't eat at a place that smelled like this I don't understand where the foul odor comes from. I didn't even care I wasted the meter I paid for 2 hours, I left. The food is a 5/10, the staff is 8/10 but the table by the overcrowded entrance way and a 50 minute wait make it almost impossible to enjoy the experience. My avocado BLT omelette was really good and the bagel was fresh. The potatoes way over seasoned and coffee was very strong, which I happen to like. My wife's eggs were undercooked but the server and manager took care of it without incident. The issue was the location of the table and the wait. read more

I can not say enough good things about Toast in Patchogue. Aside from the food being delicious, the service and staff was OUTSTANDING. We had a group of 4, one individual has Autism. We asked if we could sit in the private area as he can be very loud at times. The staff immediately asked the manager. The manager was more than willing to accommodate us. The staff frequently came into make sure we had drinks and food, and not just the waiter. When we were leaving the manager said we were more than welcome to sit anywhere we wanted and didn't need to isolate ourselves, although we asked to. Our party had Splendid Benedicts, which it was, orchard omelet w ham, apples and goat cheese-no leftovers except maybe a few hash brown potatoes, freshly made and a lot of them, and a sweet potato waffle. We all sat with our breakfast served and politely waited for a good 5 or so minutes before we were informed, not by our server. that first waffle was burnt and being remade, which was all good but maybe should have been mentioned sooner. Got into town and heard so much about this place. First impressions was such "A great Vibe". Very cool. Love the feel and decor. Walked in and was seated immediately! Maybe luck, or just timing. The place was busy. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. Made a few suggestions and even gave us "her" picks. Coffee was bold and fresh. I had to have the special Bloody Mary, with Sriracha Shrimp. Just coming from a Bloody Mary contest in New Orleans, this Bloody Mary held her own, & was a home run! I went with the BLT Avocado omelette . So many great choices. Hard to decide. The dish came with potatoes & choice of toast. The Rye was incredible! The potatoes were cooked perfectly with plenty of paprika! Loved them. The omelet I had was also cooked perfectly! Fluffy & moist. Creative combination plates. I have a thing for coffee mugs. Hate small cups. These were not your typical diner mugs. These coffee mugs are a good size, kept the coffee hot, and available for sale. I grabbed two. Really enjoyed the food and experience! Consistently great, even though we arrived at noon, way too late for a Sunday seating. The wait for a table for two was only 10 minutes but we opted for the bar. Toa got it down. Drinks, special orange Coconut Bellini, substantial and the Sriracha shrimp Bloody Mary, a meal in itself. Against my better judgement, as I'm not partial to cooked avocado, I ordered the Splendid Benedict with avocado fritter. They had me at fritter and I was not disappointed. My husband had the Pork Belly Benedict. I asked if he enjoyed it. "Oh God, yeah". Some like the Port Jeff location better; it's smaller and more cozy. I enjoy the spaciousness of this Patchogue location. Our waiter, Dan, was the icing on the cake, as we all know, the service can make or break the meal. Food is very good here, however the service is not. I went with my sister one day and like a lot of the other reviewers noticed it was very hot inside even with the air on. It might have been cooler outside. We knew what we wanted and ordered right away and the food came quickly. However, my sister ordered a drink that never came and the waitress never came back to check on us so we never got it. Then we had to flag someone down to get a to go box and another to get the check. Then we had to wait to find our waitress to get her to take the drink off the bill. Not good service at all considering we were a pretty easy table. I contacted them about this and never heard back. In my book that's a perfect reason to never return. Why even offer a contact us if you don't care when customers do? I'll find another breakfast place in the area to spend my money at. read more
