Wow where do I begin. This was an awesome first restaurant experience during covid!!! The place was super clean and followed covid guidelines. Masks needed to be worn and the spacing between tables were more than 6ft. The staff were all wearing masks. It was awesome to see and made me feel more comfortable about eating out. Our waitress was Caroline. She was a sweet bubbly young woman, who was just exuberant and happy. She was so helpful and patient. She listened and was interactive. I asked for the "largest" cup of coffee ( mom of a 2 and 1 year old ), she totally delivered. She came with a tall huge mug and smiled as she placed it down. Caroline herself made the experience amazing. Then.... the food came out. Wholly guacamole... the serving portions were huge but who's complaining? I ordered the Brioche French toast and sausage. My mother ordered the corned beef hash. The food tasted incredible. The flavors were so savory and just made your mouth water with each bite!!! The fruit tasted so fresh. We even had leftovers to take home ( I normally don't take home leftover breakfast) and my babies loved it!!!! The wait is ridiculous almost an hour each time, and everybody comes dressed as if they got out of an important meeting. I've only been here on the weekend and its always packed and loud. The avocado toast is really good and that's the only thing I've eaten from there. The waiters and servers are barely around though. They just want you to eat, pay, and leave to make room. read more

EAT AT A LOCAL DINER, YOU WILL BE BETTER OFF As a 3rd generation Long Islander I like to support local business such as Toast. My prior visit to Toast was excellent. The wait was long but manageable when I visited in November. The service was good and the food was wonderful. My visit today was the complete opposite We were told we would wait 30 minutes, we waited an hour and only were seated after I questioned why 15 parties who arrived after us were seated. We sat and ordered our food and waited another 30 minutes My pancakes looked pretty but were inedible! They tasted like straight baking soda. If you cannot make basic pancakes there is a problem with your kitchen. The entire time we were there bugs were flying around our food. This restaurant had no regard for Covid precautions-many of the staff were not wearing their masks properly (wait staff had their masks under their nose or on their chin) and the place was packed over capacity so that staff and patrons were crowded on top of one another. The manager was alerted to the situation. He removed the charge for my food and the drinks we ordered. The other 3 patrons thought there food was also sub par. The manager could have kept my business had he comped the remainder of the bill but he was more interested in sucking up to his friends who kept entering the restaurant than making an unhappy customer satisfied. I recommend you give your business to a local diner like the Holbrook Diner or the Oconee Diner over this place. I guarantee you will get better service and food. read more

I love going to Toast either for brunch with my girls or lunch with my mom. Everything that we order is always delicious, and always exactly how I order it! This last time I went, everything was amazing! The blueberry lemon mimosa is my favorite drink, as well as the Vermont Maple crunch coffee! And I can never make up my mind with getting savory or sweet so we get a bit of both. The avocado BLT omelet for me, and a short stack of cinnabon pancakes to share with my man.. that's the way to do it!!!! Yum! Service is always quick, yet not rushed and our food always comes out pretty quick, regardless of how packed they are. Yes they are very busy over the weekend, but it's worth the wait in my opinion! I've been here once and I'm in love. There was about a 30 minute wait for a 4 top around 11a on a Sunday morning. Our server, I'm pretty sure her name was either Samantha or Stephanie, was fantastic. Super knowledgeable about the menu. She did a great job of being present and available and we didn't have to hunt her down at all. Plus she split our check for us, which was very kind. I had the tofu scramble, which was so good and had fresh veggies. YAY for having vegan breakfast options that aren't oatmeal! The portion size was excellent; sometimes when I go out to eat, I'm hungry again in about an hour but that was definitely not the case at Toast. My friends had a wrap and an omelette and they both enjoyed their foods. It took about maybe 20-25 minutes to come out but our meals were fresh and hot when they arrived. Awful skillet burger - extremely dry and hockey puck-like. Their air conditioning wasn't working - it was horrible - everyone fanning themselves. It would've been nice to tell the customers before seating us so we could've decided if we wanted to eat while sweating into our meal or not. Love toast! Great mom and pop shop located in the village of patchogue. They have two locations and I've been to this one 3-4 times so far. Every time it is hit or miss in terms of the wait time. I think the last time I came was on a Sunday morning and they were extremely busy and we had to wait almost an hour and a half to be served. This is a cool looking place. Gives me like a funky movie/ old school diner feel. There food is really enjoyable and affordable. They have really unique menu options and regular ones too. The staff are always friendly. I tend to go with a few mainstays. Choice number 1 - their corn beef hash and eggs. Not a fan of corn beef? their version will convert you as it did me. Perfectly poached eggs sit on top of a thick slice of home made rye bread that is smothered with corn beef and Brussels sprouts. Toast coffee house over in Port Jeff honestly never lived up to the hype for me; still, I was intrigued to give the patchogue location a few tries. This spot is on fire! All three times I've gone, there has been an hour or longer wait to grab a table. Don't let that deter you! Pop over to Roast, have some tea, and wait it out. Better yet, download the "no wait" app and make a Rez before you even get into town (trust me, you'll save a ton of time) don't be fooled one way or the other by the size of the place either, if you haven't been, it's much larger than you think it is and they can turn tables pretty well. That being said I won't say the wait staff is perfect but they do an okay enough job for the most part. Maybe neglect you a bit after you order, eat, and want to leave... The menu is pretty sweet if ya know what I mean and the food is dope. The Benedicts and other egg dishes are where it's at if you ask me- I'd stay clear of the chicken and waffle, or even the pancakes. The pancakes themselves leave something to be desired despite carrying some badass ingredients like Nutella and cookie dough. The French toast on the other hand is thick, rich, heavenly, and heavy in your belly... Heavily heavenly in your belly. Get it any way you decide to order it and I think you'll leave happy. The Cuban Delight (pulled pork hash w/ pickled onion, grilled ham, two poached eggs topped with hollandaise, all over tortilla....!?) saying its a "delight" is an understatement; pairing it with their awesome home fries? Last thing to mention but certainly not least important, is the ever amazing biscuits and sausage gravy. Chipotle sausage gravy to be exact. "The Haberdasher's Delight" served again with poached eggs and hollandaise will put you into an early hibernation where you will dream of waking up and stuffing your face with the amazing homemade biscuits once more. If you finish this dish I'd be impressed, or scared; it's heavy and filling especially if you have an extra sharing plate on the table (how could you not with a menu like this?) Soooo happy to see a second location, and what a great location as well! I am such a fan of the original location in beautiful port Jeff. So needless to say my expectations were high. Today of all days it felt like they had the ac on, I mean it was only a balmy 22° degrees outside, without the windchill! Then to see the fans going? Someone have a fever or hot flashes LoL!? So I start looking at the menu and my mouth starts watering! By the time I am done looking my mouth wasn't watering any more, it was crying! The waitress came over and was very friendly. I ordered the Splendid Benedict, with blueberry pancakes with a side of bacon. Which were all great choices said the waitress. So the moment of truth! The food has arrived! First off I try the bacon. OMG maple bacon! After that I try the home fries. Not bad but could be better, maybe some peppers and onions. The Benedict was good and tasty. The biggest disappointment was the pancakes. They were cold and rough. Taste wise was good but cold pancakes isn't my bag baby! What could of saved them was maybe some hot syrup, but nope, that was cold too! As I start the middle of the pancakes (the warmest area) there was spots of flour. Which means the batter wasn't mixed properly. I guess like most sequels, they don't do the originals justice! What the heck Toast? Yes, 100% maple syrup sounds great but the upcharge is ridiculous for what every other breakfast place offers for free.) Wait time for Sunday brunch was typical, and it was helpful that we could add our name to the list via app. Here's where we run into some trouble. It's hot. Hot outside, hot inside. They have overhead fans going, and AC on full blast. HOWEVER, with no insulation to keep it cool it gets hot. It was hard to enjoy our time there while sweating profusely. The manager/owner apologized many times over for the heat, but it doesn't make sense that aesthetic takes precedence over insulation to keep customers comfortable. Maybe we'll go back, but not anytime soon. Save this place for autumn or winter when the temperature won't be unbearable. read more

We had a 40 mins wait at 1 pm on a Saturday. It was fine, as they take your cell and call you when they're ready for you. We went across the street to Public House for a mimosa and it was EXACTLY 40 minutes later that they called. Service was pretty good-a little slow getting the check but overall, fine compared to how busy it was. My avocado BLT omelet? Amazing! And huge! And hot!Took half home. The potatoes are to die for!
