The food here is great but the management is abysmal. We put in with the NoWait app and was told it would be an hour wait. We show up about 45 minutes later and they tell us it would be a 20 minute wait. 45 minutes later, they tell us it will be another 20 minute wait. This went on for an additional 2 hours after the initial hour wait we were given. We didn't get any apology or explanation for this, so either we were lied to or they really have no grasp on the wait. Toast was terrible. Way too loud, they need to install sound bumpers on the cavernous ceiling to take care of some of the noise bouncing around. Food was just as bad. Found hair in my dish. Hollandaise sauce on the eggs Benedict was cold and goopy and had no flavor. This is my most favorite breakfast spot on the south shore. The food is always delicious and if you are looking for an interesting, cool atmosphere, come here. The coffee alone is worth the long wait, yet try to avoid busy brunch time on Sunday if you can. You can always check in through your Yelp app which will cut the wait time a lot shorter. My favorite part is the fact that they give you the cutest mug when you order either coffee latte or cappuccino. Definitely will be going back most likely every Sunday as a family brunch. read more

Pro tip: go on their yelp page about an hour before you actually want to be seated and add yourself to their wait-list. You don't have to actually go inside and stand there sweating to death for an hour and a half. I've been to the port jeff location and loved it, the food never fails but I can't say I've felt the same about service. So the wait-list said to be there at 12 to check in with the host, we didn't sit until about 12:35. Not sure if the air wasn't working or they just don't have it because it was almost warmer inside than out, on a 90° day. It was very clear that my aunt and I were dripping sweat and maybe I expect too much especially a result of being uncomfortable but I feel like water should've been offered? After checking in with the host 10 minutes early, she could clearly see the wait we were in for. Just seems like common sense/typical service on a hot day with a long wait. Like, even Outback Steakhouse will put out some samples when there is a huge wait. It's just overrated. It's a normal breakfast/lunch spot with nothing outrageous. One thing that really irks me is the upcharging. You want fruit instead of bread? +1.50. You want egg whites? +2.50. Multi-grain or english muffin? $$$. Never heard of this place before but my friend made reservations and we went. It looks like a regular place from the outside but when you walk in its very cozy and welcoming. It's got a rustic feel with a lot of fun decorations and is very spacious. I would definitely recommend making reservations since there's a constant line to get in. The menu had a great selection! I couldn't decide what to get. They've got a great drink menu, perfect for brunch, with flavored mimosas as well as beer. They also have a lot of specialty pancakes, waffles and French toast. From Nutella drizzled with strawberries to cinnamon swirl and creme fraise - the selection is amazing. They also have vegan and gluten free options which are a huge plus! The first time I went to Toast, I was blown away by their amazing Benedict Arnold. The poached eggs were cooked to perfection.
